The food was just okay - nothing particularly memorable or worth coming back for. The Fresh Ahi Burger was dry and overcooked, which was especially disappointing. The presentation and attention to detail were lacking. A Bloody Mary served with a rim of regular table salt and vodka simply poured on top of the tomato juice instead of being properly mixed was disappointing, especially for such a popular place. There's not a lot of seats so im not sure how it would work since we came around 7AM. Depending on what you get, it can be hit or miss. I would stick with the pancakes and waffles. I stayed at the Waikiki Circle Hotel, which shares the same building as Eggs 'n Things. So, I saw a huge crowd every day waiting for this place, which told me I needed to stop in before finishing up my trip in Oahu. I had a group of 5, so I joined the waitlist in the Yelp app (about an hour wait) on a Sunday morning. Unfortunately, when they called my name, my full party wasn't there with me, so they put me back on the waitlist, and even when my party was complete (a few minutes later), we couldn't be seated until the next group of openings/seatings. So, learn from our mistake - haha! But once we entered, we saw that the space was quite small, which explained the long wait crowd. However, the staff was definitely committed to fast and good service, as well as keeping their table turnover rate fast to accommodate the waitlist. While small, the space didn't feel crowded and had a cute diner look and feel. We ordered the Loco Moco, Fresh Pineapple Pancakes with Whipped Cream, the ENT Morning Wrap, Fresh Strawberry Pancakes with Whipped Cream, an Iced Kona Cold Brew Coffee, and a side of scrambled eggs and sausage links. The Loco Moco was delicious; definitely a must-try when in Hawaii. The pancakes were also good and fluffy, but the way they're listed on the Menu as "Whipped Cream pancakes" confused us a bit, and we thought the fruit would be whipped with the cream, which was not true. These are your standard American diner pancakes. The ENT Morning Wrap also felt like a standard breakfast burrito, but it was packed and filled me up quickly. The Portuguese sausage gave it a nice flavor profile, also. Our sausage links came out a bit too toasted/dry, but the Kona Cold Brew was fantastic. Visited Eggs n things with a group of 4 (3 adults and a toddler). We made the mistake of not joining the waitlist prior to getting there as they were packed. When signing in on the tablet out front it estimated a 25-30 minute wait which turned into just over an hour. Once we made it inside we were promptly greeted by our server and put in our drink order and meals since we already knew what we wanted due to the wait. Back when my friends and I were in town for my buddy's wedding, I remember passing by Eggs 'n Things for the very first time and seeing a pretty healthy crowd waiting for a table. Given how it's Waikiki, I couldn't help but wonder if this place was legitimately good or more of a tourist spot. Fast forward to my last trip and there seemed to be even more folks waiting. So, this time around, I almost felt compelled to finally check this place out for myself! Even though Eggs 'n Things has multiple spots on Oahu, including a another one in Waikiki, I was pretty set on coming to this one. Besides how it's the one that I had passed by so many times before, it also has a great location. Situated right on Kalakaua, slightly above street level, and with a relatively clear view of the beach and the ocean, it felt like, if nothing else, the ambiance would be a plus! Thankfully, after looking over the menu and seeing numerous delicious photos of their various breakfast plates and specialties during our hour long wait (more below), we felt fairly confident our tastebuds wouldn't be let down! -- HAWAIIAN STYLE KALUA PORK BENEDICT Served Over a Hawaiian Taro Roll, Topped with Poached Eggs and Hollandaise Sauce, and a Buttermilk Short Stack...$17.95 Sadly, not as impressive as I hoped for. The pork was very moist, but it didn't have a strong smokey, savory flavor, and the hollandaise was a bit acidic. As for the sides, the pancakes were okay, the eggs were good, and the roll was tasty, though I wish it had been toasted more. -- LOCAL STYLE KALBI & EGGS - Asian-style Marinated Boneless Short Ribs, Kimchi, Two Fresh Island Eggs, and Fried Rice (+$4.95)...$21.95 Of the two, we both thought this was better. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the short ribs were terrific - juicy, flavorful, and with a nice char. That said, this came with only three pieces of beef and the fried rice was also a little mushy (yet flavorful). Beyond the food, service was terrific - from the host to our server, the entire staff was so friendly and cheerful. Which is kind of impressive, considering how they are constantly hustling around to take care of so many folks. More importantly, their operation is also quite efficient, deftly handling small and very large parties (including a party of 15) and getting folks in and out relatively fast. I just wish we had known we could've added ourselves to the waitlist before getting here via the Yelp app, which would've saved us a lot of time (I'm a bad Yelper...). Despite how the food here didn't amaze like how we had hoped it would, we certainly had no regrets about coming here. Nothing that we tried was too shabby and I'm glad I can check this off my list of bookmarks. Plus, if you're fortunate enough to get a seat by the windows, the view is perfect for people watching, especially when a giant breeze starts to blow in. Overall, their current Yelp average is actually perfect (3.7 stars, which is the same at their other Waikiki spot), but since I can't give the same, I'll round up to four for now. read more

We went with the ube pancakes and the waffle with acai sorbet and mixed fruits. Both were absolutely amazing! Never knew ube and pancakes went well together but the ube sauce poured over the pancakes were the right amount of sweetness and maple syrup wasn't needed. And I love personally love Acai and tend to eat a bowl nearly everyday. Never though to add acai sorbet on top of a waffle though. The food here is absolutely amazing. Everything we had, and there were four of us, was above and beyond. So delicious! What I really want to rave about though is this organization's respect for the waiting queue. They do it all online, tell you exactly where you are in the queue and about how many minutes you have to wait, which allows you to take a nice walk on the beach or otherwise occupy yourself. The really cool thing they do, however, is respect each person's right, and if someone is a no-show when they call for them three or four times they' throw them out of the queue and other people get to move forward without wasting time on an empty booth waiting for someone.
