If you want to be treated with kindness for any jewelry needs, Shreve Crump & Low is the only place you need to go on Greenwich Avenue. I walked in with a broken BC&A necklace and Eve greeted me with such friendliness and offered to fix it on the spot which I did not expect. Then, when she returned the beautifully repaired pendant, and I pulled out my card to pay, she waved me off and said there would be no charge. They owners and staff are all very lovely and knowledgeable. I have bought jewelry and had jewelry made, repaired and cleaned and can only say good things. My most recent visit was quite special. I had a pair of diamond stud earrings re-set that my Mother had left me. The diamonds were not high quality by any stretch but Brad (one of the owners) and the entire staff knew that to me, they were million dollar diamonds as they were from my Mom who had recently passed. This past afternoon, my grandfather and I walked in the store in hopes of seeing some beautiful pieces. And that's just what we saw! Everything from Frederique Constant to Hublot and even Piaget! After Mr. Scott approached us asking if we needed any help, and we said we were just browsing, he insisted in an extremely kind manner to help us and make our experience that much more pleasurable. Shreve Crump and Low is simply the best. I've bought multiple presents there and have taken much of my own jewelry and watches to the store to be attended to, the other day I had a superior experience. I brought in a moderately priced watch I had purchased elsewhere. Unfortunately, the band was too large and some links needed to be taken out. I could not figure out how to do this myself, so I brought the watch into the store. Bradford Walker, Vice-President of the store, looked at the watch, figured out how many links needed to be taken out to fit my wrist, removed the links, and put in back on my wrist for a perfect fit-all with in minutes. When asked what the charge was, he replied that there was no charge, he was just glad he could help me out. That is service and that is class. When I recently needed a repair to an older, discontinued Concord watch, a keepsake from my father, I was at something of a loss as to how to go about having it repaired. I visited a number of places on Greenwich avenue, starting with my normal watch dealer, an authorized omega service center. I was really surprised to find a genuine unwillingness to help among any of the watch stores I visited. Tired and irritated, I happened to notice the storefront of Shreve, Crump, and Low and wandered in, just to randomly try one more time before giving up. When you enter, the first thing you can see is what an upscale jeweler this is -- I'm not sure I could afford any watch they do sell :) So, to be honest, I was really surprised at the warmth with which they greeted me and the interest they took in my problem -- very carefully looking at the watch and testing the battery while I was even still there. Within three or four days, they contacted me to say my watch was repaired. Even though their precision watchmaker needed to actually manufacture a small internal part for the battery mechanism, the price was very very generously reasonable. I really can't even say how good it feels when you find a store that will go so far out of its way to help someone -- especially just a random walk-in from the street. And, as I had visited three or four jewelers prior, I can tell you that truly sets Shreve, Crump, and Low apart. Thanks so much, guys. read more

If I can give zero stars I would, that is how bad my experience was with this store. I would never recommend them. They were not honest nor upfront with their abilities to follow through with their work promised and their craftsmanship is horrendous. When I wrote a letter to the "uppers" in their Boston store, I was provided with wrong names, and the last person did not have the respect to write back and apologizhhe for not only the terrible experience I received, but the run around I got for months. read more
