Went to dinner last night for some quick appetizers and two meals. The waitress was very cold and not helpful. I have been going to this restaurant for years and enjoy the food and atmosphere, generally. So in general, we have great food and service. Last night was unacceptable as we felt like we were in the way. Our food took a long time and it was not busy. Once we were done eating we were kept hostage by our waitres by not bringing our bill for about 10 minutes until we flagged her down. This restaurant now has a few waitress that have been there a while that are not good and don't care about the customer or the business. This is happening more often and is disappointing! Please do table visit from the management so opinions can be given. We are very easy customers, and enjoy the restaurant. Hopefully that will continue! read more

Beautiful setting on the water with a really laid back atmosphere. True, if the food is even mediocre, the setting will make it taste better. However, with several places in the Stuart area to eat on the water, Shrimpers has consistently been my favorite. For the second time I had the fried Grouper Reuben - fantastic! Lots of flavor going on with this one and the batter had great crunch and was very tasty, it was not greasy at all. Saddled it up with a side of sweet potato fries. They have a nice selection of craft drafts (Sunrise City IPA anyone? - Outstanding!). This is my first time rating Shrimpers and I've seen lots of mixed reviews with this restaurant, however my many experiences have always yielded 4 to 5 stars. I found this restaurant using the "Bring Fido" app. Nice space outdoors with picnic tables where the dogs can stretch out and relax. Before I was asked what I wanted the server brought a bowl of water for my dog! The New England Clam Chowder is the best I've had since moving to Florida! My mom and I used to travel around Cape Cod tasting clam chowders, so I know what I'm talking about! I've got the grouper bites coming as my entree, if they're half as good as the Chowda I know I've found a new spot to eat! The Grouper bites were out of this world! My sister in law took chose this place Easter Sunday for lunch. We were able to sit dockside where boats pull up and park and the people can disembark and eat. It was a dog friendly area, so her dog Harper was welcome! I had the salmon BLT on ciabatta with ranch, delicious. Salmon was the tender and juicy. My wife and sister-in-law split the grilled dolphin sandwich and the sesame seared yellowfin tuna salad, they both enjoyed very much. I had a coupe of pieces of their tuna, very good, perhaps just shy of sushi grade. My fries were good. Definitely a good place to visit for something different. read more

Tips up front: this place gets pack, so come early or at odd hours. Especially if you want to sit outside. Ask your server for their recommendation and then follow it! Situated right on the water, the restaurant has a great atmosphere outside between the beautiful views and the boats entering or leaving the small quaint harbor. But don't worry, even if you can't get a table outside, the inside offers another great experience from their decor alone. Just when you walk in, there is a structure that resembles a ship. I started with a conch soup. I've only ever had conch in Bahamas, where it's shoved down your throat at every corner, so, please excuse my unpleasant disdain for anything conch but the waitress recommended multiple times. How can you ever turn that down? Wow, was she ever so right. The soup was bright with taste, what I mean is, it had a balance of flavors between the herbs, conch and the other ingredients. After this, I'll recommend conch dishes. Following, I had the scallop platter. It came with a choice of fries, green beans, or rice pilaf and coleslaw. I wish I would've taken the servers recommendation and gotten any one of the specials because my friends couldn't stop talking about their citrus scampi or the citrus shrimp salad. Just looking at their food and now photos as I write this. Those dishes were packed with flavor, rich and tastefully delicious. Not overpowering at all. While I'm over here eating a standard beach meal. That's not to say my meal was bad, I'm just disappointed in myself for not going with the servers recommendation. I really wanted to try the grouper parmigiana or the grouper sandwich but my friend wouldn't stop talking about how over fishing is killing the grouper off in the sea and that they are critically endangered. Had fresh oysters for starters and were some of the meatiest I've ever seen! For my entree had the salmon BLT on a brioche bun; who knew salmon and bacon went soooo well together?! Others in our party had coconut shrimp and salad with blackened fish. No complaints from anyone! On February 6th my wife and I had an excellent dinner at Shrimpers restaurant. it came time to pay the fare and when I reached for my credit card I fumbled it and dropped it to the floor. However the floor was floorboards and there was a gap between them through which my card slipped down 15 inches to the substrata. To my great joy the manager Mr David MacCormick devised a rube goldberg arrangement of packing tape stiff wire and a steady hand to somehow a fix the card to the tape and retrieve the card through the very narrow gap between the floorboards. Needless to say I was elated to have the card back and not have to go through the hasssel of having to cancel th card and getting a new one with all that that entails. I am delighted with the excellent dinner at Shrimpers but very appreciative for the General Manager's clever way of rescuing my credit card. we will be back to Shrimpers soon. Thanks. My husband and I had dinner with our friends at Schrimpers last night, and I was really disappointed. I'm not sure if the waitress was new, but it was super, super slow service and then when we did order she had mine wrong. I ordered the Sesame Seared Tuna and when it finally came it was fatty, thin, tasteless and tough. It seemed as if it had been frozen previously, thawed out and heated up? The Prosecco I ordered was also an off brand that I didn't care for, and the fruit that came with my meal was mostly grapes and the watermelon was tasteless. The tuna was $29 and I honestly got a better filet at Sprouts last week for half the price, and the watermelon at Publix that I ate when I got home was much better. The two stars are for the view and the cool bird that showed up and ate some shrimp. We won't be back. read more

The wife and I were looking for and nice place to to get seafood with the kiddos and in steps Shrimpers . When you get to the restaurant it's pretty cool because it's on the water and you can see the boats. When we walked inside there was a nice atmosphere it's a mostly 50 and older crowd so everyone in there loves to see kids. The service was friendly and speedy and the restaurant was super clean with excellent views . The food was a 7/10 the waitresses service was an 8/10 and our overall experience was a great I would recommend this place to anyone visiting (The Grouper Ruben was AMAZING)!!!! read more

I just had lunch today at Shrimpers in Stuart Florida. I ordered the coconut shrimp and the captains platter (all fried food). The shrimp was so fried there was no shrimp, it was a hard breading. The captains platter was the same. We were seated by the stairway to the downstair outside patio. The wind started and it was about to rain. We waited for our waiter, who must have gotten lost. The manager was in a hurry to get the plastic curtains down and yelled at my daughter to move. The lack of courtesy was disgusting. Our bill came to 90.00. I wouldn't have fed that meal to my dogs. The staff is amazing. They are attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. We love having dinner by the water. However, the food is just ok. Except for the conch chowder that is delightful. I think they have had green beans as their vegetable for years. Those are a hit or miss. Often over cooked and limp or under cooked and raw. We have tried many of their entrées finding many of them bland. We keep coming back hoping for improvements. The staff and atmosphere make this restaurant worth returning to. read more

The chowder tasted like a pre-made powder mix, but it was piping hot. The food was disappointing, My husband ordered the grouper Ruben with garlic mash. The fish had no flavor, and the size of the grouper was tasteless, and the thousand islands did not help with the dryness between the rye bread, which did not pair well. The mash had the essence of garlic. The conch fritters and mussels were mediocre at best. There are other restaurants around it that would be worth the money. Try them. read more

First time coming!!!! We Came for a few appetizers and drinks around dinner time. Beautiful view and ambience. I could tell the waitress was new however she made do. The lump crab cakes were not to my liking only because there was not enough seasoning whatsoever. Crabcakes are a particular liking of my seafood and though they looked beautiful when I bit into it, it just did not have the flavor I was expecting. I am from New Jersey and our northern seafood sometimes seems quite different than down here lol. The bang bang shrimp was amazing! I love the touch of the sesame seasoning! The conch fritters were very tasty as well. They just fill you up of course, the breading and the sauce hit the spot! The Mexican mule drink is actually quite delicious with the jalapeño touch! We 100% will eat here again - the food was delicious and the service was amazing. Our server, Sharon, brought out fresh bread rolls made in-house. We intended to save some with which to feed the fish after dinner but within minutes not a crumb was left. We got a crunchy grouper reuben and a crunchy shrimp dinner. My kids got a kids cheeseburger (which was huge), kids popcorn shrimp, and a side of mac & cheese to share. Sharon was on the ball and already had their side split onto two plates when it came out and, while I loved my meal, I'd have gladly eaten either of theirs, too.
