I could not be happier with my new shower, and the whole experience with Shugarmans has been great. My first meeting was the sales / estimate meeting with Susan. I was slightly apprehensive because I'd seen reviews that mentioned a hard pressure sales meeting, but that was not my experience. Susan explained the whole process with me and it was exactly what I was looking for. I was worried about the area behind the walls (the wet area) so I wanted to make sure there was no dry rot. They take it down to the studs and show you. Thankfully, my area was fine which was a surprise since it was the original builder grade shower insert from 1988. They installed my new shower, new plumbing and new fixtures in one day. They had to come back a week later to install the shelves and shaving stand, but I have no complaints with that. Our new shower in the primary bathroom is an absolute dream. The original tub/shower combo of 1987 was tired, the bottom of the tub dirty looking even though kept clean. The area had been refreshed 12 years ago, and the original fiberglass tub painted 6 years ago. Researching and selecting a professional company was the hardest part of the job. I saw a Shugarman's van in our area and looked them up. We researched the materials and hardware we wanted before calling them. Shugarman's is a delight to work with from the first contact phone call to the first hour and a half sales presentation by Fil who answered all of our questions. It was 3 months before our job was scheduled, but it started on the promised day. Our two day installation was straightforward, with Jorge (George) completing the initial demolition of the old tub and walls, and plumbing install. Jorge kept everything clean and didn't damage the preexisting floor tile. The next day Shane and Sean came to install the new base, walls, ceiling, window trim and hardware. Again, everything was cleaned up. No surprises and no damage. We have a lifetime guarantee on everything, which includes their plumbing, as long as we use correct cleaning materials and methods. We had a fantastic experience with the entire Shugarman's Bath team. From the initial consultation through to installation, they were responsive, organized and very easy to work with. And we couldn't be happier with our two new bathrooms! One bathroom was a straight tub-to-shower conversion, which was done before we knew it. The main bathroom involved a whole new floorpan with a new double shower with a rain-head and bench. Like any complex project, there were some snags. What we really appreciated is how they were handled. Instead of trying to rationalize something that wasn't right, we got solutions and a real desire to create a finished product that they themselves would be proud of. Cost is obviously a major factor when it comes to renovations, but often overlooked is how invested a company is in delivering a product and experience that will make you happy. I specified the shower pan to be 5 inches deep as this is at the second floor of an old house, I was worrying that bathwater spillage might compromise the floor structure; I think there was a hiccup in the "change order "process, so I only get a regular pan with 1 inch curb on the installation day. But Tony, Carlos, and Jennifer at the office quickly found a solution to fix it by adding a taller curb. I would give them 5 Stars if not for the hiccup in the depth of the shower pan. It was not a one- or two-day project. I made my deposit around June 15. It was installed yesterday, Aug 10. Over all, their work is great !!! read more

the glass shower doors did not fit in to the bumpers . I called to have it installed correctly maybe have the bumpers reversed and the rep said it was correct that I needed to use my fingers to slide the door open. what a bunch of baloney . customer service is questionable. I could realign bumpers myself but. you would think they would do it giving all there hype about satisfaction! would not want to have them back to do anything else. maybe just the rep not being in willing to do anything for me. read more

After our 19 year old stand up shower panel shattered, we researched various vendors extensively and had to move forward with a decision quickly because we have a small child and couldn't leave a shattered glass shower for long. We got quotes from a total of four vendors. Some ranged from $20k and upwards, all out of our budget. After spending a ton of money on other house repairs we met with a rep from Shugarman's bath at one of the home improvement shows at the San Diego convention center. The young Asian gentlemen who was at the booth was very professional, friendly and had amazing things to say about it the company history and products that they use (same material as used in football helmets! Wow for durability!). We provided our info. The next day we received a call from a Rep from Shugarman's bath (they were he first to reach out from all vendors we met at the convention) and we scheduled our in home consult that week. The Rep that came out to meet us was incredibly personable, efficient and straightforward with our needs. I was exhausted from other recent expensive home improvements and told her that we had $15k or less to budget and needed a new stand up corner shower. The Rep was prompt, took measurements thoroughly, showed us all available options in a sit down meeting and then she was able to make the numbers work for our budget. She gave us a lot of options to choose from and was really nice and professional the entire time. I valued her feedback and honesty through the sales experience. We paid a deposit for materials and weeks later the materials arrived. We suffered a big loss in our family during this time and Shugarman's was kind enough to put a hold on the install until we were able to reschedule a few weeks later. They did follow up after a week or two to reschedule the install which I had forgotten about. They called prior to arriving the day of to remove the old shower. Since it was attached to a main bedroom I asked for the room to be closed off so any dust from the demo wouldn't get in the bedroom. The individual worked upstairs while I worked from home downstairs. I was shocked to see how professionally he had covered everything in the bedroom with plastic tarp, and blocked the entryway with plastic tarp to avoid any dust from flying into the room. The demo was done with one man and he worked fast and efficiently and he communicated everything he found and next steps. The next day Chreen and Missial completed the install of the new wall and shower head. They were very professional and friendly and worked efficiently with tarps to protect the house. It looked beautiful once it was completed and they spent time explaining all of the cleaning and care instructions before leaving, they also let us know what the next steps would be for the glass install and we awaited a call from Shugarman's bath to complete the glass installation performed by a different vendor which they handled all scheduling for. When the glass installer arrived, he worked very quickly, and efficiently was very professional, and the finished shower looked amazing!! We were very pleased overall with every aspect of our communication with Shugarman's employees and customer service and the process of the demolition, installation and end product. We now have a beautiful glass shower that looks like a "Million Dollars!" according to my kid :). I am more then pleased with the entire process and would very gladly recommend Shugarman's bath to anyone looking for a cost effective, professional and high quality shower install. read more

We had a shower remodel done with Shugarman's Bath. Price was a little higher than our original target budget, but we were swayed by Shugarman's reputation, lifetime warranty, and 'down to the studs' guarantee. The install itself went smoothly. Our lead installer, Beau, and the others involved were very professional and courteous, taking care to minimize disruption to our home during the 3-day install, and checking with us to make sure everything was set up just as we wanted. The initial result was beautiful. Unfortunately, just a little over a week after handoff to us, we noticed a patch of surface cracking on the shower pan. The manufacturer insisted this could only result from using unapproved chemicals (cleaners) on the surface. This may be true, but from our perspective it would have had to have been exposed prior to handoff to us, since we had not applied any cleaners at all before noticing the cracks. But without any way to prove who was at fault, and with Shugarman's Bath unable to offer a repair/replacement (which would require a complete redo of the shower), we had to settle for a small price reduction. A little disappointing for us to end up with an otherwise spotless fancy new shower with already some minor damage from the start, but apparently this was an unlucky mysterious circumstance that slips through the warranty coverage. read more

Can-do attitude with any requests we made during the install and just the nicest people. The finished product looks amazing and we are very happy with how the entire process has been, start to finish. I was worried it wouldn't look as sharp as tile but honestly cannot tell the difference. We went with a finish that has grout lines and it looks very good. I recently had a bath to walk in shower conversion completed by Shugarman's. The first thing everyone asks is price. Yes, it can seem pricey (mine was $16 1/2 K once all the upgrades are added on), but they are first to admit that they are not the cheapest on the market......it even states that on their website. What I did like about the website is it gives you a price range that customers typically pay so I had a rough idea before I even started (even though mine ended up a little higher)! The initial consultation was scheduled. They do ask that all interested parties are present, but I feel that is necessary as it makes sure everyone is in agreement before moving forward. After the sales presentation was complete and all questions we had were answered, the sales Rep took all necessary measurements and drew up a design. Then we were taken through all of the available upgrades (wall finishes, doors, shelves etc.) before coming to the final price. Again, it seems pricey when it is presented, but you get what you pay for!! I was told it would be about 7 weeks before install would take place.....which was exactly how long it took. There was regular communication throughout that time giving me updates which was nice. Install day arrived and the team lead by Chreen arrived on time ready to start. She walked me through the whole process, so I was fully aware what to expect and answered any questions I had. Then she started the demo of the old tub and walls. I was amazed she had the tub out and walls removed down to the studs within about 3 hours. The install phase seemed to go seamlessly. She had the whole job complete in just over a day and a half. I am very happy with the finished product and the overall service provided by the Shugarman's team. We are really, really happy with our new shower and delighted we chose Shugarman's Bath to solve our bathroom problem for us! Two days before we closed escrow the seller ripped out the entire shower to repair the subfloor which had dry rot and left us with an empty hole where the shower had been in our only bathroom. After multiple contractors came and tried to sell us on expensive and lengthy whole bathroom remodels, I called Shugarman's who sent out Don to meet us and look at the space. We hadn't planned on having anything other than a tile shower but once we learnt from Don about the material Shugarman's uses, how quick it is to install and how easy it is to maintain / clean etc. we were very interested. What really persuaded us to go with Shugarman's in the end was their commitment to a quality end product and a quick and specified timeline to completion, along with a warrantee for their product. Having been burnt by multiple contractors in the past on different projects, we were prepared to look past the price tag for the certainty of working with a company that seemed to stand by its service and have some accountability. We do not regret the choice and consider it money well spent. Communication with the office before, during and after the install was excellent. Dan Iglesias was our installer and is a true professional. We cannot fault any aspect of his work. When there was a minor hiccup he was extremely patient and courteous liaising back and forth with us and his project manager so that the problem could be resolved.
