4.5/5 Shuggie's is a cute, retro-like wine bar and dinner place that surprisingly blew me away. I thought we'd get a few drinks and maybe have to eat somewhere else to supplement but we left super satisfied. We got the Funyuns to start and I had the jammy red wine. Followed by the stone fruit and tomato salad (possibly my favorite, the peaches were so fresh), and the beef cheeks. I've never had "beef cheeks" before but this was such supple meat and paired with the blackberry sauce and horseradish whip it was amazing. The dessert is so fun, just get it! They sprinkle glitter and serve it on your hands, it's a fun experience

Incredible! Super fun vibes and food was delicious. Love the concept of using unusual foods and service was great. Unique date night, would definitely be back if I lived in SF.

Bobo's The Pep, The Roni
Samantha D.

Came in the summer when the focus was pizza before they rebranded their concept. Tried the Bobo's the Pep, the Roni pizza, already famous garlic knots, and the super shroomy pizza puffs. The garlic knots were great. I wanted a little more garlic, but the butter and ricotta made it delicious. I loved the wilted greens on it. The pizza puffs reminded me so much of hot pockets but better. A nice crispy exterior and piping hot interior. The mushrooms were delicious. Grandma slices are such a good type of pizza. The pizza was good. There was a lot of toppings, so it was more wet overall and almost masked the crispiness of the crust. I liked their pizza concept, so I definitely will be back to try their new menu someday.

I'm sure you've seen this all over your IG and TikTok and let me tell you their interior is quite the sight. Worth the experience for a photo in your feed ;) Ambiance The details are incredible. In the front where the host checks you in is completely yellow and the back room with the self-seat bar is fully green. In the green room there's a table, which we sat at, that had green hands. The material felt like it was like those toddler playhouses, a little sticky to the touch. Service The host made it clear we only had the table for 90 minutes. We weren't drinking so we weren't planning to hang out for a while, but there seemed there was already an expectation to turn the table and we felt rushed. We had already waited 45 minutes to get seated. Food Wasn't memorable and I remember being disappointed by the pizza :( Would come back for a sloppy night in the Mission, and eat elsewhere!

The vibes and ambience are always the best at Shuggies. On the night that we went they had live music playing in the orange room. My friend and I took advantage of their happy hour; when you order a drink you get complimentary apps. We got to try two apps and both were great! The Fun-onion one with the mushroom dip was my favorite! The fish sticks were great as well. My friend did order the salmon collar and that was an experience! The flavors of the fish and the sauces that they used were all so tasty! Can't wait to come back!

We had the MOST DELICIOUS TRULY AMAZING meal and experience at Shuggie's!! So much admiration for Kayla & David for this remarkable one-of-a-kind sustainable & small farm biodiversity bistro that filled our senses, our tastebuds and it was visually stunning. We seriously wish we had patronized Shuggie's much sooner & regularly!! Much love & success to Kayla & David!! There are amazing things in store for the genius & creativity in both of youuuuu!

Food was amazing! I had their pizza at outside lands 2025 and absolutely needed to try again in restaurant. The fries were super crispy with so much flavor. I wish the pizza was as crispy as the first time I had it, but I think in the future I could ask for it overcooked! The pepperoni was spicy and thick cut 10/10. Rating is 4/5 because the servers checked in when food was delivered or when other people were being sat around, not in between. Also it would've been great for the fries to come with a sauce! Will definitely be back for another Sunday zaaaa.

I made a reservation since I heard they are going to stop doing trash pies in a few weeks- The ambiance is so cool and eclectic, from the moment you walk in to when you realize there's another room to what originally felt like a tiny shop! I have a minor complaint- we ordered the crispy green beans and it wasn't until they served the dish that we were informed they ran out of green beans and replaced it with asparagus instead. This dish was super delicious- but as a person with a lot of food allergies, I was not thrilled that it wasn't communicated at the start. Trash pies we ordered Summer Pie - with tomato, squash, chèvre - delicious, nice that the crust was yummy and crispy. the regular cheese on it felt a little overwhelming but the chèvre added a much needed tang. The Big Chee 2.0 - with ricotta, mozzarella, grana padano, garlic - love that this was loaded with garlic and personally love that we had whole cloves- however this was actually too much cheese. I love cheese but felt overwhelmed and wouldn't get this one again. It needed something maybe a little acidic to cut through the cheese. Overall a cool spot to hang out and the food was good, not amazing. I'd still come again to try some of the meat dishes and other apps which looked really good.

Social media hyped this place up for me that I had to come try it out. I'm glad I finally did and it was such a vibe. The whole aesthetic of the restaurant is soooo cute, I was taking notes for my own home decor. My friend and I got mocktails and we were pleasantly surprised at how refreshing they were. She got the Pineapple Shrub and Soda and I got the Ginger Lime Spritz. They also offer you either still or sparkling water. Be aware that if you get sparkling water you'll be charged $9 for the bottle. The staff were so friendly, our waiter asked if we had any dietary restrictions. I let them know I was gluten free and dairy free so she informed us that the fish sticks we ordered was not any of that. She recommended that we order about 4 plates between us but we decided on 2. We then saw what she meant, 4 plates probably would be of been great because we weren't filled. I also wanted to say that between two plates and two mocktails it was already around $80. I'd say this location is more for small bites and grab a drink or two restaurant but they do have a section on their menu for bigger bites so I'm curious how that would look. The restaurant is on the corner so it won't be hard to miss but parking is not so great so you'd have to search for street parking.

We had such a fun and enjoyable dinner with excellent, attentive service by Elijah! We ordered six dishes and each one impressed us; not only was each dish delicious but the creativity of the ingredients and the presentation also contributed to the wonderful experience we had at Shuggie's. Kayla visited our table several times and was super friendly, warm and expressed gratitude for our visit; that really helped make our evening even more pleasant than it already was. It also made us very sad that Shuggie's is closing, but we are hopeful that their amazing, sustainable food journey will continue on in some other way in the future. What they do is so important in terms of not only feeding people food & JOY, but also educating people about how we can be less wasteful if you just think outside the box. Thank you, Shuggie's team! We will definitely be back before you close as often as we can.

They say one mans trash is another mans treasure. At Shuggies they take that to heart by creating dishes from imperfect fruits, veggies and meats. In other words "rescued" ingredients. The decor of the place is really unique. It screams fun! I can't think of another place like it. The NY Times even recommends it as one of the top 25 restaurants to eat at in the city. I stuck with the pizza which tasted great. Although the competition for best tasting pizza in SF is pretty stiff. I wouldn't put it at the top. But, it is certainly better than average and a bit messy. It's the only place I've been to where I had to go back to the bathroom to take a picture because it was so vibrant!

Shuggie's is fun spot that has an amazing mission, for their dishes they irregular produce and food that would normally be throw away. And don't let this scare you because it does not affect the quality or taste of the food at all! The first thing you notice about Shuggie's is the color, the inside and outside is covered in a bright yellow and green. It has a very cool and lively vibe. It's decorated with eclectic and unique decor, the yellow room is where the open kitchen is and the green room is where the bar is. I came for Restaurant Week since they had a $60 dinner deal for 2! We had 4 dishes to share for the restaurant week menu. It started with an asparagus tempura in a lip shaped dish. I really enjoyed it, it was perfectly crispy and not greasy. Next was the meatball made of beef heart in tomato sauce. I couldn't tell it was made of heart and it tasted pretty good. For the trash pie, we got the mushroom verde pizza. It was tasty, the mushrooms were roasted well and the crust was nice and crispy. The dessert was a chocolate semifreddo which is similar in texture to a mousse. The service was nice and attentive. He brought us some chili oil for the pizza that was made in house, it went really well with the pizza! Overall it was a good meal and I would definitely recommend this spot. It's a great place if you're looking for somewhere new and fun to eat or for celebrating! They also have some pretty cool natural wines

Amazing pizza. Such good service. There was a blond women who made us the most amazing mocktails. I wish there was a bit more menu items on pizza Sundays. And that the food came out a little faster but overall a solid spot.

Located in the legendary Mission District of San Francisco, this wine bar is a great spot to catch up with friends and enjoy small bites and yummy crafted cocktails. Their decor is very chic and I especially loved all of the hardware, glasses, tables, and benches. This place was styled by a great design artist. Even though the place was pretty packed and can be kind of noisy, I still felt very calm amongst all the healthy plants and loved the sophisticated 70s inspired glassware. Another great feature of this place is that you can buy most of the plants because they have some for sale so after a couple of cocktails, I was ready to redecorate my whole house with all the plants. I ordered a yummy Rose blend that was super crisp. Also enjoyed the Truffle Fungi! A delicious Shiitake and oyster mushrooms with parmesan and arugula on toasted bread. Their Spanish inspired potatoes were delicious with their dipping sauce. They have lots of gatherings there and DJ sets on the weekends. Lastly, a photographer would die to take pictures here. There is no bad shot as the design artist made sure every section of this cute wine bar was picture perfect. Loved all my photos and videos. I look forward to returning to this exquisite wine bar!

You get perks as a thank-you for doing your part in making the City a cleaner place. We had just had a lovely time at another participating business (Beehive) and planned on Arcana being our final stop. Thankfully I was able to use the restroom without a fee, with my gear held up outside by the security team. While waiting in the restroom line, I told a staff member about all this, and the worker seemingly went up to the front to find out what's going on. The line took a few minutes, my friends also bumped into me, and I told them I'd likely wait for them outside the business post-restroom while they finished their wine. Already reported to the Mayor's Office. Maybe I'll add BBB. Should be honest and equitable! Four out of 200+ reviews by me have been one star, so I rarely share negativity. It's all rather unfortunate as other visits here went off without an issue. I warned a group of four about all this while I waited out front, and after talking to the front door folks, they left and thanked me for the advice. Please be careful if you visit here. . . .

We started off with different wines, some that Tom recommended based on what we told him we didn't like or did like. He apologized for our previous experience and was genuinely a nice guy. Honestly it's very admirable for a business owner to take feedback to heart and want to incorporate it. Plus he's a really cool guy when you get to know him. The staff was busy running around but still made time to come check on us. Our final verdict is we came on a bad day. This time we got the actual Waystone experience. We finally got to try the chicken bites with a creamy aioli, fries with yogurt sauce, and the star of the show was the Mac and cheese. Tik tok did live up to the hype and we will have to come back for one of their jazz nights. Be warned this place gets busy! But it's worth it.

Plus, the people watching was pretty entertaining, which definitely added to the experience. The three of us only tried two different wines. My friend ordered a glass of Masha, while my other friend and I both ordered the Los Chuchaquis. The verdict: Masha was really good. Good enough that a second glass was ordered! As for the Los Chuchaquis, I personally didn't love it. I found it a little too tannic and bitter for my taste. If you have a low tolerance for bitterness, this might not be the wine for you. That said, my friend, who ordered the same wine, absolutely loved it and thought it was delicious. So maybe I just ordered the wrong wine for my palate? ‍ Either way, the wine is only part of the experience. The energy here is fantastic, the bartender was welcoming and friendly, and the crowd was cheerful without being obnoxious, which I really appreciate. I'm not usually much of a night person, but I genuinely had a great time.
