4.5/5 Shuggie's is a cute, retro-like wine bar and dinner place that surprisingly blew me away. I thought we'd get a few drinks and maybe have to eat somewhere else to supplement but we left super satisfied. We got the Funyuns to start and I had the jammy red wine. Followed by the stone fruit and tomato salad (possibly my favorite, the peaches were so fresh), and the beef cheeks. I've never had "beef cheeks" before but this was such supple meat and paired with the blackberry sauce and horseradish whip it was amazing. The dessert is so fun, just get it! They sprinkle glitter and serve it on your hands, it's a fun experience

The vibes and ambience are always the best at Shuggies. On the night that we went they had live music playing in the orange room. My friend and I took advantage of their happy hour; when you order a drink you get complimentary apps. We got to try two apps and both were great! The Fun-onion one with the mushroom dip was my favorite! The fish sticks were great as well. My friend did order the salmon collar and that was an experience! The flavors of the fish and the sauces that they used were all so tasty! Can't wait to come back!

I'm sure you've seen this all over your IG and TikTok and let me tell you their interior is quite the sight. Worth the experience for a photo in your feed ;) Ambiance The details are incredible. In the front where the host checks you in is completely yellow and the back room with the self-seat bar is fully green. In the green room there's a table, which we sat at, that had green hands. The material felt like it was like those toddler playhouses, a little sticky to the touch. Service The host made it clear we only had the table for 90 minutes. We weren't drinking so we weren't planning to hang out for a while, but there seemed there was already an expectation to turn the table and we felt rushed. We had already waited 45 minutes to get seated. Food Wasn't memorable and I remember being disappointed by the pizza :( Would come back for a sloppy night in the Mission, and eat elsewhere!

Food was amazing! I had their pizza at outside lands 2025 and absolutely needed to try again in restaurant. The fries were super crispy with so much flavor. I wish the pizza was as crispy as the first time I had it, but I think in the future I could ask for it overcooked! The pepperoni was spicy and thick cut 10/10. Rating is 4/5 because the servers checked in when food was delivered or when other people were being sat around, not in between. Also it would've been great for the fries to come with a sauce! Will definitely be back for another Sunday zaaaa.

Social media hyped this place up for me that I had to come try it out. I'm glad I finally did and it was such a vibe. The whole aesthetic of the restaurant is soooo cute, I was taking notes for my own home decor. My friend and I got mocktails and we were pleasantly surprised at how refreshing they were. She got the Pineapple Shrub and Soda and I got the Ginger Lime Spritz. They also offer you either still or sparkling water. Be aware that if you get sparkling water you'll be charged $9 for the bottle. The staff were so friendly, our waiter asked if we had any dietary restrictions. I let them know I was gluten free and dairy free so she informed us that the fish sticks we ordered was not any of that. She recommended that we order about 4 plates between us but we decided on 2. We then saw what she meant, 4 plates probably would be of been great because we weren't filled. I also wanted to say that between two plates and two mocktails it was already around $80. I'd say this location is more for small bites and grab a drink or two restaurant but they do have a section on their menu for bigger bites so I'm curious how that would look. The restaurant is on the corner so it won't be hard to miss but parking is not so great so you'd have to search for street parking.

I made a reservation since I heard they are going to stop doing trash pies in a few weeks- The ambiance is so cool and eclectic, from the moment you walk in to when you realize there's another room to what originally felt like a tiny shop! I have a minor complaint- we ordered the crispy green beans and it wasn't until they served the dish that we were informed they ran out of green beans and replaced it with asparagus instead. This dish was super delicious- but as a person with a lot of food allergies, I was not thrilled that it wasn't communicated at the start. Trash pies we ordered Summer Pie - with tomato, squash, chèvre - delicious, nice that the crust was yummy and crispy. the regular cheese on it felt a little overwhelming but the chèvre added a much needed tang. The Big Chee 2.0 - with ricotta, mozzarella, grana padano, garlic - love that this was loaded with garlic and personally love that we had whole cloves- however this was actually too much cheese. I love cheese but felt overwhelmed and wouldn't get this one again. It needed something maybe a little acidic to cut through the cheese. Overall a cool spot to hang out and the food was good, not amazing. I'd still come again to try some of the meat dishes and other apps which looked really good.

They say one mans trash is another mans treasure. At Shuggies they take that to heart by creating dishes from imperfect fruits, veggies and meats. In other words "rescued" ingredients. The decor of the place is really unique. It screams fun! I can't think of another place like it. The NY Times even recommends it as one of the top 25 restaurants to eat at in the city. I stuck with the pizza which tasted great. Although the competition for best tasting pizza in SF is pretty stiff. I wouldn't put it at the top. But, it is certainly better than average and a bit messy. It's the only place I've been to where I had to go back to the bathroom to take a picture because it was so vibrant!

Shuggie's is fun spot that has an amazing mission, for their dishes they irregular produce and food that would normally be throw away. And don't let this scare you because it does not affect the quality or taste of the food at all! The first thing you notice about Shuggie's is the color, the inside and outside is covered in a bright yellow and green. It has a very cool and lively vibe. It's decorated with eclectic and unique decor, the yellow room is where the open kitchen is and the green room is where the bar is. I came for Restaurant Week since they had a $60 dinner deal for 2! We had 4 dishes to share for the restaurant week menu. It started with an asparagus tempura in a lip shaped dish. I really enjoyed it, it was perfectly crispy and not greasy. Next was the meatball made of beef heart in tomato sauce. I couldn't tell it was made of heart and it tasted pretty good. For the trash pie, we got the mushroom verde pizza. It was tasty, the mushrooms were roasted well and the crust was nice and crispy. The dessert was a chocolate semifreddo which is similar in texture to a mousse. The service was nice and attentive. He brought us some chili oil for the pizza that was made in house, it went really well with the pizza! Overall it was a good meal and I would definitely recommend this spot. It's a great place if you're looking for somewhere new and fun to eat or for celebrating! They also have some pretty cool natural wines

Amazing pizza. Such good service. There was a blond women who made us the most amazing mocktails. I wish there was a bit more menu items on pizza Sundays. And that the food came out a little faster but overall a solid spot.

As this restaurant prepares a pivot away from pizza and into small plates, I wanted a chance to try what had, at one point, been one of the city's most exciting new restaurants. And it's a total vibe. The aesthetic of the place is incredible (sit in the inner room, not the first room by the entrance) and enjoy the color and the chaos. Food itself is hit or miss, but it's a cheap(we) meal for SF. Service was chaotic, but enjoyable and knowledgeable. Looking forward to what's next.

really cool space, vibe, and atmosphere, i was there on a friday evening, had a reservation but it wasnt too busy when i walked in, def started getting busier around 7:30. i appreciate the menu with clear vegan and vegan optional labeling but do wish there was more info on the food options on the website. was a bit surprised that pizza is no longer on the menu (or wasn't offered for dinner). also there were no vegan or vegan-optional main dishes. i got a glass of wine and salad that was delicious and beautifully presented and the staff were super friendly.

Amazing, delicious, wonderful. Came here for a birthday dinner with a small group and what a fun quirky vibe it was. The wine was great and so were the appetizers. Service was excellent too. The halibut and cabbage were super delicious starters and paired well together. I didn't try the pizzas but others loved them. Would recommend, would go back!

Shuggie's is a green machine with a knack for dishes as unique as the decor! Came here for a solo dinner and the hostess was super kind to give me a seat at the bar. FOOD [4.5/5] =========== + Garlic Knots (5/5) Oh my gosh, they weren't kidding when they said these are good. The garlic knots themselves are fluffy but still have a chewy texture. What really makes this dish is the ooey-gooey fluffy cloud of burrata sitting on top-- so freaking delicious! + Exploding Fish (4/5) Really great balance of spicy and umami. The fish are cooked pretty well and the sauce is spicy but light! SERVICE & AMBIANCE [4.5/5] ======================= The only heinous thing was the tip percentages START at 20% but the service was pretty nice and attentive, so I didn't mind too much.

We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.
