The employees are great, but the fact that you can only order with the QR code, which didn't work is very disorienting. The person on my left and right had issues I had issues. You need to have a few paper menus for people that don't want to use your QR code If your technology is great, why didn't you say on your app that you were out of tomatoes so my chicken sandwich arrived without tomatoes and I even ordered extra tomato. management needs to provide with the customers want not what you want to do to make yourselves extra money. together we're not ready for this. Terrible customer service from my server. I sat down at the table and was not even acknowledged for 20 minutes, and only after I stood up and walked around the restaurant multiple times. The servers were too busy on their cell phones in the corner. Food was average at best and cold. The server only came by when I needed to pay and did not offer to bring drink refills when my drinks were obviously completely empty. We grabbed breakfast before I flight out to Las Vegas. We sat ourselves. It wasn't that busy. A few families were sitting waiting. Not sure how long tho. The server came over. John asked for water. I wanted hot water with lemon. The server stated that hot water isn't available. I'd need to go to the coffee spot across the way if I wanted hot water. No worries, I ordered the Ham and cheese omelette with roasted potatoes. Hubby ordered French toast with bacon and OJ. It took a while for the food to come up. It was not hot. Do NOT eat here for breakfast! Explore other options at JIA. My husband and I chose to eat here because there were plenty of open seats and we did not have a whole lot of time before our flight left. It is a seat yourself type of restaurant and as soon as we sat down, we realized that there was no need for a waitress. They are still using the QR code as a menu so not only do you seat yourself but you also input your own order own food. For breakfast, the menu is very limited and only one option (only about 20-30 character spaces in the text box) to personalize the meal to your preferences. I asked for egg whites only and wanted extra crispy bacon. I never had the option to choose. What type of bread that I wanted, either. The waitress never came to the table for anything before we ordered our food other than for our drink order. After bringing our food to the table she inform me that they did not have egg whites. They used egg-beater (boxed type) eggs. I didn't order any bread yet they brought me un-buttered toast, and filled the plate with enough potatoe pieces that they consumed nearly 1/2 the place. The bacon I received was NOWHERE near extra crispy..... it was NOTHING but fat! The waitress never returned to the table see how our meals were nor to bring us our receipt. That is when we realized that you could scan a different QR code to make your payment. However, that option was not working at the time we were there. We had to track down the waitress in order to pay the bill before we could even leave to catch our flight. THIS lack of customer service and human interaction is NOT pleasant nor does it make for a positive experience in the food industry! Breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day.... Seated ourselves , waitress said we could QR code the order or she'd take it. Easy enough order .. Turkey club sandwich, white all the toppings it comes with- nothing extra just what was on the menu. Ordered a beer and an espresso martini ... bout five minutes after the initial order was put in I decided to order a chicken Caesar salad. Drinks came out . Can't mess up a beer in the bottle but the espresso martini was so sad looking.very little froth and just meh.. disappointing.. now on to the meals... want to guess whose came out first?? The club sandwich or chicken Caesar that was order 5 minutes after the club?? Yep , you guessed right, the late order Caesar salad. Very odd . After a few minutes of waiting the club sandwich arrived. Took a bite of the grilled chicken Caesar and the chicken was crunchy- not good. Tried another piece and got the same texture. Ughh. Tried to be a good sport and just ate the lettuce . Moving on to the club sandwich . Well- just look at the pics and think if this wasn't the lamest looking club sandwich. TLDR: if you want a burger, go to the fast casual place a few steps away. Service was the best part of the visit but the server was also the bartender so she was stretched thin. 25 minutes after ordering through my phone, still no burger. Flagged down someone delivering food to someone who sat awhile after me and was told I was waiting because I ordered a medium well burger. Mmkay. A few minutes later she was able to deliver my burger but sounds like she had to ale an effort to get it out faster. I'm grateful, but airport food should never take that long. Burger tasted kinda like my old cafeteria food did. While I did manage to eat before needing to board, I would not revisit. read more

I was going to give a 3 star review to be honest until the check came. I tried to give the waitress my credit card and she said she couldn't take it and I had to scan a QR code to pay? I have an old phone and never scan QR codes, what a silly idea to force it. I paid cash instead. The food was decent for airport food. I got the mahi mahi with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The crew stopped in for breakfast before catching an early morning flight. The servers were friendly, the mimosas came quick and hit the spot. There are people that have mentioned this place as overpriced, I'm not sure where they typically hang out, but the breakfast menu seems to be completely fair. We ordered an omelet, and breakfast sandwich and a classic scramble. They were all very tasty and quite plentiful in size. Keep in mind, this is an airport location, always a bit more. However, they literally were only two dollars more than a fast-food restaurant meal and yet so much better. Here's the frustrating negative and the loss of one star...the push to order and pay from your phone. I seriously doubt it's the servers that want this, so management if you read these...give it a rest. Our server couldn't get the QR code to work from out table. Table QR code to order which wasn't working but server quickly came by, took my order, and was pleasant and efficient. Check is again via their QR code, which worked for paying. Then, the server/bartender brings the food and says don't close your bill as I have to take the toast off. We already closed our bill. I ordered the steak sandwich and what I got was one slab of chewy beef on a roll. I never return a meal, but this was inedible. After arriving early for my flight at JAX and knowing I needed some breakfast before a long flight, I decided to check out Shula's Bar & Grill. It wasn't too busy around 8 AM and I seated myself. My waitress was friendly and attentive. Given it was two days before Christmas, she actually gave me a holiday card with a candy cane. I thought this was so sweet of her, going above and beyond. I splurged on a bloody mary (because YOLO), which was okay, I've had better. Then I got the breakfast burger which had a freshly grilled patty with cheese, crispy bacon, and a fried egg. It came with a heaping pile of home fries. Overall was it the best breakfast that I've ever had? No. Did it hit the spot exactly when it needed it to? Service was good. The waiter was brutally honest about what was edible and what wasn't. That is where the positive review stops. It is your traditional airport restaurant. Cold, overpriced, soulless. The menu is limited. The drinks are good only because they are pre made. I had the bbq burger without bbq sauce because that was the only way to get bacon on a cheeseburger. It didn't come with garnish. I selected medium rare, but it arrived looking like it came from Dante's 6th circle from hell. I would recommend another restaurant, but the menu items between this restaurant and the PGA Tour grill are similar except for the flat bread. Best bet is to get a sandwich or wait to land at your connection. read more

Great lunch spot in the Jax airport terminal. Steak tips and burgers were great. Bloody Mary was truly exceptional. Geoff, our waiter, guided us towards towards the menu highlights. Sure, it's a generic airport bar and a bit bland. Prices are high for what you get. But all things considered, three people are a large, tasty lunch for $100 (including tip). I know it's airport food and my expectations were low. But the medium burger I ordered came to me as a beyond well done borderline hockey puck. Being in a rush I didn't have time to request another. It's self service generally. You seat yourself and scan a code for the menu. You can order everything on your phone including hard liquor with the odd exception that beer requires a server or going to the bar. It's also airport prices. A not so big burger will set you back $20 or more. I'd recommend eating elsewhere. read more

What a bizarre experience. This is an airport bar/grill and was not expecting anything more. What I got was a whole bunch of sass with borderline editable food. I was seated on the restaurant side and promptly was asked for a drink order - I asked for a coffee and was told they don't have "hot drinks"? OK, iced coffee? Nope. So I got a water. Waiter came back and said "what do you want"? I wasn't given a menu, there's a QR code on the table with no real descriptions on any of the food. I said I'll need a few to look. I was told "if you're not going to eat and we get busy, you'll be asked to leave"! Huh? I had been sitting for a total of 45 seconds and the place was empty. I told the waiter I will be ordering food but have no idea what they have since I wasn't given a menu. After finding something on their app I tried to order... nope, the app errors out. Call the waiter over to show him and was told "well, I never turned it on". LOL, ok boss. He walked over, turns on the QR menu and I order via my phone. He asked what I got, I'm assuming to confirm the kitchen received. Wrong again. Turns out he placed an order for me too! He drops off the food and I get a backhanded comment about how "he told me not to order via the app and now there are 2 sandwiches for my table". That never happened and he said he was going to do the "best he could" so I wasn't charged twice. Nah, I'm paying for what I ordered and ate, nothing more.
