Let me just start off by saying I was told to "not come back" by one of the waiters while I was leaving. The reason being she didn't like how much I tipped her. The bill came out to be 37 and some change and I handed her exactly that. After doing so I handed her the 2 dollars I had left to spare and gave it to her. I felt like I was being judged throughout the service as well being that me and my gf were the only non chinese people eating in the restaurant. Now let me start with the food. I promise my take on the food is not based on the service for that situation happened after I ate so I already had an established opinion regardless of service. I am not sure why this place has less than 4/5 stars because this place is amazing. Think fast, AUTHENTIC and no frills and inexpensive Chinese food. They don't make it like these anymore. I use to trek all the way to Chinatown in Manhattan for my wonton noodle soup and fish congee but since Wing Wong closed, I felt lucky to have found this place. Drove two and a half hours out here to Flushing, NY to eat. My first stop was dim sum and I needed to bring food home and was craving duck and roast pork...so I yelped and saw this restaurant. Service was pretty quick and easy. Restaurant was okay looking, clean, a typical Chinese restaurant. You can see the chicken, duck and roast pork hanging on the window. Since I liked my first time here I returned to get dinner for us and might as well bring some food to my parents.. Maybe the the food isn't that fresh around 6pm.. maybe the chef that day wasn't as good as their usual.. who knows.. but they ran out of almost all the BBQ meats.. only char siu was available. My father wanted roast duck.. when I brought it back to their house.. they told me the roast pork wasn't very tender so they couldn't eat it. It was fine for us. Then my mom complained about her boiled chicken congee being cooked for too long. Basically SW cooks their congee in huge pots so my mom didn't like how thick it became after being in the pot for who knows how long. She said it was terrible... The beef chow fun was over seasoned with soy sauce.. really dark this time and no wok hei, but it wasn't oily at least but still... completely different from my last experience. It comes with some boiled napa cabbage which is really bland but it for some reason completes the dish. I always ask for extra sauce on my rice dishes. These dishes are so simple but they are not something you can get at a typical neighborhood Chinese restaurant. I mean they have all their cooked meats hanging behind plexiglass when you walk in. I've tried multiple wonton noodle soup spots in Flushing and this one seems to be the most delicious with flavorful broth, a bunch wontons, and very affordable. Hanging in the showcase are racks of chinese spare ribs, sides of roast pork and and whole delicious, crispy Peking Ducks. Yeah baby, that's what I'm here for. You can either sit down and eat in or take it to go. I decided to take mine home and serve to my wifey and self the traditional way with scallions cucumber & Hoisin wrapped in soft steamed rolls. Soo yummy! I got half of a fresh sliced Peking duck for just 12 bucks. I didn't ask for any rice with the dish because then that just fills up the to-go dish resulting in less duck. It was so good and so delicious. I warmed it up a little bit back at the apartment and my wife was pleased that I made tonight's dinner, with a little help from chef Shun Won. Parking is tough but it's certainly worth the small walk from the municipal lot. I highly recommend this wonderfully authentic Flushing Chinese Cantonese restaurant. It is a perfect place to order traditional cantonese style breakfast. I like their beef/fish congee, dough stick, wonton soup, rice noodles, duck & roasted pork with crispy skin. Those Chinese chef already master their skills and unless they don't have it. You don't need to wait more than few minutes before your order is ready. Maybe I haven't been around for Chinese food, but things are not cheap, but still better than many place in Manhattan. Definition of good food spoiled by terrible Flushing service. I wanted to get chinese BBQ so I found Shun Won on Yelp. I've been here before but I'm not sure if it was a previous restaurant or the same one. Walking in, everyone who worked there looked at me. Not thinking I'm Chinese, they just made me stand there for a solid 5 minutes while they finished their duties. Highly annoying. Then spoken in English, they directed me to a table. I sat down and didn't see a waitress for another 15 minutes before I literally had to flag someone down and tell them I'm ready. No, they weren't busy. They only had a few tables that they tended to because the guests were Chinese. They were mostly walking around doing their side work at 8:30PM prior to closing shop. When someone takes my order, I ask for soy sauce chicken. She tells me that the BBQ has been taken down and they only have roast pork. The whole reason why I came! Highly annoyed once again. This is a chinese BBQ restaurant though? So I order the shrimp with lobster sauce over rice. Another favorite of mine. They brought out a huge dish within minutes and it was very fulfilling. My sister ordered the sesame chicken and their homemade wonton soup. Both tasty. Which is why I think they deserve a 3 star. The steamed rolls with roast pork and baby shrimp are also great. I need to come try their noodles and fried rice. The sign also says there's seafood available, but I didn't see any tanks for fresh seafood storage. Maybe they're in the back. Service: very quick. I usually arrive before 8 a.m. during weekends to avoid the line that can build up and on Saturday mornings before 8 a.m., there's free parking out front! Flushing is flooded with all kinds of Asian Cuisine, but Cantonese is a rarity until they recently opened Shun Won. This place is similar to Big Wong in Chinatown if there was some sort of comparison. There are times when you just need a quick bite or a simple take out when you cannot decide on what to eat. Their roast meats are decent although i wish they provided more veggies and probably an egg without the extra cost. They have huge variety of rice dishes as well as noodle dishes. You can get whatever you want in a rice or noodle form. The bad thing is their roast meats sell out pretty quickly, been there around 830 and the only items left were the roast bbq and duck. Unless that is what you are in the mood for, then going there late is a plus for you. They have good congee on days you are under the weather. its something Chinese people eat when they are sick or have no appetite to eat anything greasy or heavy. Its pretty good. read more

Came here specifically for their roast bbq selections. From the looks of the restaurant it gives off the old chinatown style. Not the best looker. But that's not why I'm here. Ordered roast duck and bbq charsiu with flat noodle in soup. The soup was very good, not overly salty but still rich in flavor. The roast duck was done just right where it's not bland or charred but roasted and still full of flavor as it blends with the soup.
