There are tons of great restaurants in Bar Harbor but sadly this is not one of them. The food is greasy and flavorless, which is the worst combination. Pad Thai was almost inedible (how do you screw up Pad Thai?). Sweet potato rolls were hard and cold. Even the Wasabi tasted cheap. Everything is lowest quality but not lowest prices. We eat at this place few days ago and we ordered two dishes of our favorites. Basil Pork and Red Curry chicken and a bowl of Tomyum Shrimp. We both Thai and came to Bar Harbor many times and I was a past owner of Thai restaurant in CT. I must say this. The Tomyum Shrimp is nothing but few shrimps in Tomyum soup with the paste came out from the bottle you can buy in any Thai grocery store and a few pieces of bamboo. That was it. No mushroom , no onion, no tomatoes, no lemon grass. It has no flavor of Tomyum flavor at all. First of all, bamboo doesn't belong in any Tomyum soup. Taste horrible. The red curry chicken we asked for 4 stars spicy. We can see the dry ground pepper all over and that is how they make it spicy. it should be a fleshly chili paste. There are 4 pieces of sliced chicken with lot of mixed vegetable. We don't taste curry much but coconut milk. The Basil Pork has 4 pieces of small sliced pork with lot mixed vegetable and has no taste of basil at all. We only found a small piece of basil leave. If you new to Thai food and you think this is the best Thai food, then you never taste of real Thai food. I eat at this restaurant many years ago and ordered Basil squid dish. It was horrible. Bad experienced then bad experienced now. Dishes are pricy and not worth the money. Very disappointed and we're not going back again. We switched to Chinese the next day at Shinbashi Asain Cuisine in Ellsworth. The diner dishes was superb! Atmosphere and service was excellent. Best Chinese dining experience we ever had. read more

It pains me to leave a bad review, but I would advise against ever going here. We were overall very disappointed with the quality of food and service. This was perhaps the worst Thai food I've ever had. The drunken noodle sauce tasted like sweetened ketchup and it was made with very thin noodles (see photo). Someone in our group received something completely different than they ordered, but the server didn't apologize or offer to replace it with the correct dish. The curries were watery and bland. I ate here twice during my stay in Bar Harbor. First time, we dined in and ordered drunken noodles w/ chicken and shrimp pud thai. Started with wonton soup and it was divine! Then, our meals were served hot and quickly despite it being a fairly busy night for them. Both were tasty and I'd recommend. However, two nights later my son wants sushi and the only place that seems to serve it is Siam Orchid. This time I order takeout because I needed it quickly. We had a packed itinerary of things to do that evening. Not a good idea. The tipsy person in front of me cared less that I was behind him waiting for 10 minutes for him to finish his conversation with the cashier. He just kept talking about nothing in particular and the cashier looked helpless. I really wish someone else would've stepped in to assist me, but no. Meanwhile I'm staring at my bag of sushi within 2 ft of me, yet so far. Then, my son said he hated the crab California roll and only ate 2 pieces. He said it tasted, "old". Great. Luckily the steamed dumplings were amazing. I'd order those again in a heartbeat. He said they were tasty and the sauce they come with was perfect to dip them in. We literally walked out after two bites of our food. We went with there as a family. Our daughter is vegetarian and ordered vegetarian dumplings. They came. We discovered they were chicken. The waitress insisted they were vegetarian. We got two of our four entrees. And waited. And waited. Our daughters suggested we start to the two meals that were delivered did not get cold. I had fried rice with crab; my wife had fried rice with chicken. It clearly was not fried rice. My wife took one bite, said it was the worst fried rice she ever had. I love going to Thai places because it's easy for me to eat vegan. Unfortunately the food was pretty bad and cost was relatively high for Thai food. We got fried spring rolls, satay gai, crab rangoon, tofu pineapple fried rice, tofu pad Thai, and a Thai iced tea for about $60. Fried spring rolls were squishy, pad thai was overcooked (literally almost mush, just comes apart/ you can't pick up a whole noodle) and bland, pineapple fried rice was bland and didn't even look fried (just looked like regular rice), satay gai was hard and cold, crab rangoon was okay but was bland. We threw away almost all of the food, which I never do. Super disappointing especially after spending quite a bit of money. Do not recommend. read more

We are vegetarian/vegan and got the Musaman curry and pad Thai and a Thai iced tea, all of which were great. We did a take out for mostly vegetarians. Ordered mostly veg dishes and only one chicken dish. When we got back to our house, we discovered that we had only one veg and the rest all chicken dishes. Luckily the discovery was done by one who has eaten chicken in the past. Two were willing to dish out the veges from the chicken dish, otherwise we would not have had enough food ! I walked up to the register and the guy behind the counter immediately told me that they aren't doing sushi anymore because it's too busy. He didn't even give me the option of a wait time for sushi. We had lunch at Siam the other day and it was great! It was raining and we were in the mood for a hearty lunch after Acadia. Their lunch specials seemed great and they were delicious! I came here with my girlfriend on a busy Wednesday evening. We were greeted right away and we were seated at the last open table. Our order and food came at a good pace. The staff was nice and polite. We had tom yum soup, dumplings, fried rice, and brocolli with beef. The vegetables were fresh and not overcooked. The food was good but not exceptional. We ordered take out, orange chicken and chicken cashew nuts. The food was ready when we arrived and was hot. That's where anything positive to say ended. They didn't provide rice for one of our meals (the menu said both included an order or rice). The cashew nuts dish was primarily onions, very little chicken or cashews. The orange chicken was TERRIBLE. I've had orange chicken a lot of the years, and have never had anything prepared the way they did. The chicken was ground and then made into a meatball. It was then rolled in dough and fried. The orange sauce was so strong that it was overpowering any other flavor that may have been there. It included 6 meatballs and I could only put 2 1/2 down before throwing the rest away. This cost $34 and we threw over half of it away. read more

Normally would give three stars for this keeps-me-alive-another-day sort of food, but the kicker was paying the bill. Fairly overpriced to begin with, they then overcharged nearly our entire party. A $14 meal ended up being $19 for myself. Someone else had about a $30 ticket and they charged him $54 until he asked them to double check, and then they only charged him $32.
