I'm ecstatic to have found a legit Thai place near home. It is one of my favorite cuisines but unfortunately, the options in Irvine are a bit disappointing. Siam Station is a game changer. They have Khao Soi here and it's fantastic. It's a coconut-curry-based soup dish with wide and flat noodles, chicken, red onions, cilantro, and lime...lots of lime for me please. It's also topped with crispy noodles for that crunch factor that I always appreciate. Have I mentioned their Pad Thai is packed with flavor and not at all dry? It has a sweet note to it and their noodles embody a silky yet chewy texture which I really like. Again, squeeze lots of lime for that extra "umph". Their Mango Sticky Rice was probably my favorite thing here. The rice itself is blue...how fun is that?! While the sweetness and texture of this dessert was right on the money. I thought $8 was a bit steep but with what you get, it might just be worth it. I have heard good things about their Thai Boat Noodles and I'm dying to try their Spicy Basil Fried Rice. We came from the beach, pretty hungry and thought of thai food. We liked that the service was good. Despite being seated outdoors, the waitress was quick, our table was checked on, and our waters refilled. The food on the other hand, not good. The veggies were raw tasting and the protein was overcooked. There wasn't a strong flavor profile, it was overcome with spice. We ordered a spice level of 3 for the cashew chicken and a 4 for the pad kee mao. I have a pretty sensitive stomach and it was made me feel sick. Possibly from the excessive oils? The food here is great! Solid Thai food spot with excellent vibes and cleanliness. The service here is a 5/5 because the workers were really kind and didn't make us feel rushed at all. We had about 2 appetizers and 5 dishes for a party of 4, and we were filled to the brim by the end. Khao Soi 7.5/10 - It was good but didn't really stand out in particular to others I've tried. It wasn't the most flavorful curry ~ Pad See Ew 7.5/10 - Good pad see ew but also not amazing. It also could have been more flavorful! Chicken Satay 8.5/10 - The chicken is so juicy and full of flavor and the peanut sauce is delish. Def recommend this as an app! Chicken wings 8/10 - Chicken wings were lightly crisped on the outside and super duper juicy. Tasted so good with the sauce but the lack of meat on the wings makes the entire portion is a bit small so beware. Panang Curry 9/10 - Wow this was one of the best dishes we had of the night! The flavor of the curry is IMMACULATE, def recommend this one as well. Pad Thai 8.5/10 - The pad thai noodles were excellent! They were sauced up well and had good flavor. The noodles were just a little too soft/ mushy for my liking and it felt like the portion was smaller than you'd get at another thai restaurant. Crab fried rice 7.5/10 - The rice with the crab meat was really good! Once again, lacked some flavor if you didn't get any crab meat and the egg also lacked flavor. Yum- this is a great lunch spot close to large office spaces. Keep in mind that they close between lunch and dinner (if you're already there, they'll let you know the kitchen is closing and do a last call). I had the garlic pepper chicken and vegetables with a side of sticky rice. First- the sticky rice dipped in the spicy vinegar type sauce is the perfect balance of spice, salty, and savory. My chicken was really good- a HUGE portion so keep this in mind when ordering, you can realistically feed 3 people off of one entree. I could eat that sticky rice for days. When it came time to check out they came to us with the mobile card scanner. I love when places do this and don't take my card out of sight. Also makes it super easy to select a tip and sign off on the check. They have a good amount of seating inside and out (sign a list when you get there and they'll get you seated pretty quickly!). The crab fried rice was flavorful and wasn't overpowered with a fishy smell. The eggplant Basil was similar to any story fry. The chicken wings were plain/simple. The pad kee mow was SPICY!!! I only got medium and let's say it was burning going in and going out. It was so delicious but too damn spicy to finish all in one sitting. Would I come back? Ordered takeout here for dinner. I got the panang curry with tofu, medium spice, and the egg rolls. The portion sizes were really big which I appreciate. The egg rolls were awesome. Even after bringing them home they were really crispy. The sweet chili sauce that came with the egg rolls was also delicious. The panang curry was really nice too. Arrived around lunch time with a party of two with a third person running 10-15 minutes behind. It was around 12:05 and we kindly asked to be seated with the caveat that we would order immediately for the third person that was running late. Upon sitting down we ordered promptly and our third person arrived around 12:20. One of the men ( tall guy slick back hair) running the restaurant kept harassing us about the third person not being present despite the fact that we had already ordered the food. The constant harassment and dirty looks were not appreciated and I will 100% never go back to this restaurant due to this poor customer service. It made the dining experience uncomfortable. We sat down at 12:05 and left at 12:50. I think as a restaurant owner you should expect that customers can take up to an hour to dine comfortably and catch up. While I understand it is a business and as the owner you want to turn over tables quickly you should expect and accommodate up to an hour per sitting. End to end we were in and out in 45 minutes and had to tolerate this poor customer service. Go elsewhere where your business is appreciated not this wham bam thank you mam establishment. This is the first time I've ever been to this establishment. My family waited outside and no one came to help us. We followed the party in front of us and ordered at the counter, not thinking it would be such an issue in the end. The music is blaring as we tried to order and ordered the pad see ew, ka pow with prawns, and mango sticky rice. My family sat down inside at a table and waited for our order. The order came out in to go boxes. I didn't know if that was customary or not so we started to open the boxes and eat. THREE of the workers had to approach us and tell us to eat outside. I was so confused because it obviously looked like we wanted to eat right where we were sitting. They then began ARGUING with us that our food was in to go boxes so we had to leave. We asked them if we could have the food for dine in and they said no we had to eat outside because that is not the policy. I was confused aren't we the customers? Don't we have a right to sit down? They continued to accuse us of making the mistake and not following their policy and we even said how do we make the order for here. TWO more people continued to argue with us making it now 5 people, causing a scene literally yelling at us and talking in Thai about how we were so wrong for sitting down to eat. We asked countlessly how do we make the order for here and if it was an issue just to eat out of the to go boxes. We asked for a manager and not one person wanted to say anything. No names no nothing. They can argue in the moment and talk trash about us but everyone was quiet once we asked for a manager. Isn't the customer allowed to sit and eat in a restaurant? Isn't the customer supposed to be right if all we were asking was to sit and eat? I'm so confused why they continued to come at us with an argument AND to top it off they wouldn't bring us water or serve us after. Location: In a plaza, south corner of Jamboree and Barranca. The parking lot is shared with a large number of restaurants, but it wasn't a hassle finding a nearby spot. Atmosphere: Clean and simple. There's not a lot of seating inside, our party of eight took up almost half the available tables. Come early if you have a larger group, order take-out, or be ready/willing to sit outside. Menu: Various noodles, salads, soups, curries, and fried rice dishes. You can also order appetizers, a la carte items, and a few desserts. Pad See Ew: Added fried tofu because one of my friends is vegetarian. I personally think it would've been better with a different protein, but it was still well made. The stir-fried noodles were chewy and paired well with the Chinese broccoli. Only thing it really needed was more soy sauce. Pad Kee Mow: Same great stir-fried noodles, just with more spice and vegetables. Solid flavor profile, with prominent notes of basil and garlic. My friends were visiting me at work and luckily I happen to end early that night so we decided to grab dinner. I was craving Thai food, and them being Thai I trusted their pick. We opted for Siam Station and it was close to my work so it was a no brainer. They had plenty of parking in the small plaza. The inside is a bit small and cozy. Luckily there was a table available outside. I just let them order everything but definitely wanted to get the crab fried rice. _E San Sausage ($10) Grilled fermented sausage. Served with peanuts and cabbage. I don't believe I ever had this style sausage before. It was pretty sweet, salty and a bit fatty. The skin had a nice glaze to and a bit crispy on the outside. It came with roasted peanuts, raw cabbage slices and ginger root. Use can eat it like a taco, which was ideal since the cabbage helped to cut the fattiness of it and the peanuts added a nice texture. This would be great to take home and have with fried rice with a side of egg for breakfast. _Crab Fried Rice ($16) Rice stir fry with crab meat, green onion, and eggs. Amazing! One of the best crab fried rice I ever had. They were generous with the crab portion. The crab meat was fresh, well seasoned, and plump. The fried rice was simple but memorable and not too oily like others. I loved the onions inside as well. _Khao Soi Noodles ($15) Yellow curry noodles. Choice of meat in coconut curry broth with egg noodles. I got the filet mignon ($3.00) I never tried Khao Soi and let me say I am still craving this dish since the last time I ate this. The curry flavor is so rich and silky. So much depth of flavor. It was comforting and filling but not heavy or oily. The noodle was cooked al dente and the filet mignon was well cooked. I will probably get it with chicken or shrimp next time. This is a curry I could eat with anything. Dip it or drink it, finger-licking good. _Mango Sticky Rice ($11) A perfect way to end the night. The mango slices were very sweet and fresh. The sticky rice had a purple hue. The condensed milk on top tied everything so well together. I enjoyed the texture of the noodles and how all the vegetables were a nice balance of cooked and crunchy. I think there would be more flavoring as I found it a bit mild. I've been looking for a good Thai spot in Irvine and this came highly recommended on Yelp. It's located in a busy shopping center and the restaurant itself is really small. They've added some outdoor tables, which helps a lot. I think we only waited about 10 or 15 minutes the last time we were here for dinner on a weekend. We ordered pad thai, pad see ew, and orange chicken. I loved the pad thai, but my favorite will always be pad see ew. I've tried it with tofu and on another occasion I tried the chicken. Both were great, but tofu is my go to! I'm not a huge orange chicken fan, but my husband loves it. I thought this was pretty good, too. If you want a treat, get the thai tea! Be warned that it's super sweet so its best shared between two people. Or you could drink it by yourself like I've done and just have your stomach hate you later. My only gripe with this place is their portions are so generous at the restaurant, but if you order takeout the portion is much smaller and still the same price. 1st time visiting this place and it was alright. The Pad Thai was on the salty side and needed lime to balance the taste. I didn't ask for lime but used the sauce from the papaya salad to add a tanginess /spiciness to the pad thai. I got a medium spice papaya salad and it was good. The sauce was nice and sour with a kick. The papaya was thin but I honestly hated the raw string beans. To me the flavor of the string bean almost overpowered the rest of the dish. I'm just not a fan of raw string beans! The mango sticky rice was the best out of the 3 dishes. The mango was soft and sweet, the coconut sauce was creamy and matched well with the rice. I noticed in the reviews and pictures that they are dishing up some authentic street food which got me super excited! I ordered through Grubhub and when I got there, my order was ready ahead of schedule. The worker was super nice, social distancing, and face masks were enforced. The good: 1. Thai Boat Noodle - Wow, just wow, where do I start!?! The flavors of the broth was so rich and full of flavors. The complexity of the broth alone makes me want to get the dish again. The noodles were fresh and well cooked and the slices of beef was so flavorful and tender. I absolutely loved the crispy pork skin and wish I would have ordered 2-3 extra bags of it! 2. Pad Krapow - Had really great flavors and once the Thai basil hits, love that flavor explosion. The chicken was really tender and well seasoned. The vegetables were super fresh and well cooked. I asked for spicy and I got spicy (6.5 to 7 out of 10). I'm impressed. The alright: 1. Prices are a little high but this is Irvine and I would pay for this level of quality. Came here to have dinner. The waiters here don't have any curtesy and they don't know anything about hosting and hospitality. They're poorly trained robots. I arrived to this restaurant and I stood their for few minutes without being noticed, and the restaurant was almost empty. One of the waiters passed me twice until he managed to lock eye contact and ask me if I was helped. I told him no and then he asked the stupidest question: how can I help you? As if I walked into a USPS or a DMV office So I told him the obvious, that I want to eat. The food here is ok but that doesn't justify their poor customer service. All the food was on my table within 15mins. No one came to the table to ask me if everything is ok or to top my water. Wow what a hidden gem! The business is super unassuming. You wouldn't realize this was more of a quick service restaurant by the reviews, I expected fabric table cloths and a bit of a fancier feel. But wow the service was amazingly fast and THE FLAVOR, dang. I was floored. Impeccable. We got the glass noodles, fried tofu appetizer, yellow chicken curry, Thai basil eggplant, and pineapple fried rice. All was absolutely to die for. We have seen this restaurant pop up a few times when looking for Thai food in the area, and finally tried it this past Saturday. I looked at their menu on Yelp and called in our order for pick up. We got the garlic pepper crispy pork a la carte ($18), chicken pad see ew ($12) and 2 thai teas ($3 each). Total came out to about $43 with tax and tip. The pad see ew was pretty standard, nothing too special. The portion was good and worth the price. The thai teas were standard as well and the price was comparable to other Thai restaurants. The garlic pepper crispy pork however was too pricy for the portion you get. I thought since it was more expensive a la carte, the portion would be bigger than their regular entrees, but it seemed to be about the same. There were a lot of veggies on the bottom and not enough pork to warrant the $18 price tag. I will say, the crispy pork was really good and flavorful. A bit on the salty end, but I like it that way. Parking was plentiful. It's located in a plaza with other stores and restaurants. It's easy to get in and out. Overall it's pretty good compared to the other Thai restaurants we've been to in Irvine, but we'll probably stick to the regular entrees going forward. read more

***5 STARS*** Hands down my current favorite Thai restaurant in Orange County What sets this place apart from other Thai places in my opinion is the nice smokiness that the noodle/rice dishes have (most likely due to the wok/heat they use). Pad Thai (4.5/5): One of better Pad Thai's I've tried, not overly sweetened. As mentioned above, has a nice smokiness due to the wok. Comes with peanuts and bean sprouts to mix in. Noodles are not overly chewy and have a nice bite to them. Pad See Ew (5/5): Strong soy sauce/oyster flavored base, comes with traditional Chinese Broccoli. Love that it isn't overly oily and you can even make this dish spicy (Just ask the server!) Tom Yum Fried Rice (2.5/5): Very strong Tom Yum flavor as if you were eating a dry version of the soup. Personally not for me, as I found the lemongrass and Kaffir flavor to be a little too strong when in a dry rice element. If you love Tom Yum, this would be a great option! Panang Curry (5/5): Normally not a fan of Thai curries as I find them too heavy on the Bamboo flavor but their Panang is SO good. Nice creaminess from the coconut milk with hints of acidity and savoriness. Shrimp Rolls (3/5): Not a bad appetizer, the shrimp rolls had a very clean shrimp flavor (no fishy odor, deveined well). Just felt that without the sauce, there wasn't much flavor. For the price point as well, I'd rather pay a few more dollars to get a rice, noodle or soup/curry dish. Mango Sticky Rice (3.75/5): Nothing extraordinary about this dish other than the beautifully colored butterfly pea sticky rice. When I got this dish, the mango was a little bit softer than I would have liked but the sticky rice with coconut milk was nicely sweetened without being overcooked. Would get again if I was craving something sweet at the end of the meal. Stir Fried Eggplant (4.5/5): One of my favorite non-noodle/rice entrees. It does come with the side of rice but the dish has a nice basil/soy flavor. Eggplant is cooked until the outside is nicely crisped but the interior is soft. Only complaint about this dish is that it can be a bit oily. Thai Iced Coffee (3/5): Very sweet but strong. A little darker tasting roast compared to Vietnamese Iced Coffee as this one is reminiscent to an Iced Mocha. I prefer their Thai Tea a bit more! The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating but it is a small space, I wouldn't recommend it for large parties of 8+. Aside from chicken/tofu, I do believe other meats have an additional surcharge ($1-3 more), but I do love their crispy pork.
