Siam serves a variety of authentic Thai dishes (the owners are Thai) in a place with very few comparable options. We enjoyed a nice meal on the picnic tables outside in a large group where our food was ready upon arrival (because our party was so big we were required to order in advance). On the flip side, it was a little disappointing to be eating everything on plastic paper plates & silverware and opening a lot of to-go containers and bags when they knew we were dining in. The food was mostly pretty good. Prices and portions seem fair and the menu has something for everyone, including our vegetarian, gluten-free family members. We tried the spicy basil duck, the chicken satay and gyoza app, and shared a little bit between each other. The drunken noodle with beef was fine but nothing amazing. The duck was good. Others tried the Pad Thai, green curry, shrimp fried rice, and drunken noodle and they liked all of their food. We are so lucky to have such good Thai food in the area. It is a small, humble establishment, definitely not fancy. The owner is lovely and happy to share her culture. It only does takeout, but you can eat your takeout at a table, which we always do. We have enjoyed the Cashew veggie rice dish, panang curry, and papaya salad. We stopped by this restaurant in October. It was one of the weirdest experiences I've had in a restaurant in a very long time. When we entered, the place was deserted, and the middle-aged hostess was at the register fiddling with her smart phone. She didn't even look up when we entered. When we approached to talk to her, she seemed exasperated that we had interrupted her. She asked us if we were there to pick up an order. We asked about getting a table, but she said they only did takeout. We had to ask to even get a menu. We had stopped by because we had heard this was a good place for gluten-free food (two members of our family have celiac). But when I asked about gluten-free it turned out there was no gluten-free menu. I asked what they could make gluten-free. She said, "A lot of things." So I asked, "Well, what *can't* you make gluten-free?" Thinking that would narrow down our options. She just wanted us to tell her what we wanted. She was growing increasingly exasperated with us. Finally, we went to sit down at a table to review the menu. We decided to go to back to the site where reviews recommended this place as good for gluten-free. I was pretty sure I had seen people write positively about certain GF options they had. But it turned out we didn't have cell reception at the restaurant. So we want back to the surly hostess to ask for the wifi password, because there was clearly a network for guests. She refused to give us the wifi password until we had ordered! We were hungry, so we went so far as to wander about outside near the restaurant, trying to get reception. But when that failed, we left and ate chips in the car before driving home. read more

I always saw the sign driving past it everyday but today I finally decided to stop and give it a try and was pleasantly surprised! Not only were the portions great but the noodles and sauce itself were flavorful and delicious. As a vegetarian I appreciated the fact it came with more than just the typical onions and red bell peppers with zucchini and sprouts also. We were doing some drive by's on properties, deciding if we were interested in house hunting in VT. While on this drive about, we got take out from this restaurant. I was excited to try this family owned restaurant. I ordered a bunch of stuff red curry chicken, green curry chicken, chicken sate, thom yum. I ordered the curries spicy/hot, they were not. I am a spice fiend(arguably one of the reasons my immune system is so good), it makes me sad when a place offers spice, and doesn't deliver. I found the veggies overcooked, and the curries were watery. The chicken sate though ample was super chunky, and were awkward to eat. The cucumber salad that comes with that was the best thing we tasted. Everything was highly edible, but very much suited to a bland New England pallet. I would try a different restaurant next time. If you are a spice wimp then you may want this as a safe option. read more

Nice little spot if you find yourself near Stowe, VT. Tom Ka soup ( see picture) is delicious with a savory coconut broth. Pad Tai wasn't remarkable so can't recommend this. We were passing through town on our way to Smugglers' Notch and found this hidden gem :) Everything we ordered was perfect: flavorful sauces and lots of veggies and protein. Being inexperienced with Thai food, we ordered the more traditional fried rice and pad Thai the first time and they were okay, but we weren't wowed. Just finished a 2 hr snowmobile tour and looking for a warm meal. We love Thai food and this place did NOT disappoint. I was leery there were no reviews, but It was the perfect lunch - large portions - flavorful, fresh, & delicious with excellent service. Was excited to try as it's convenient for us. NOPE, never again. Ordered a lunch special with chicken and they used tofu instead. The meal consisted of three small pieces of each type of vegetable. Barely took up 1/4 of the container. Also ordered two appetizers which were underwhelming, but the multiple pieces of (arm?) hair in the dipping sauce was the kicker. Placed an order for 3, on the menu entrees, at 5:07 PM and were told it would take 40 minutes. Okay so we leave and come back at 5:45 and no meal ready. Wait until 6:10 PM and ask about our order. People have come in, placed orders and have picked them up. All after we placed our order. We are told 10 minutes and it will be ready. At 6:25 we ask again about our order and we are told 10 minutes. At 6:35 we ask where our order is and they say it is almost ready. We ask for a refund. Young man at the cash register says I can't do that because I don't know how to do a refund and the kitchen is too busy to do it. They say the ticket will be voided tonight. We shall see. I can't comment on the food because we never got it. Don't recommend unless you have a couple of hours to kill and still go home hungry. read more

Lots of great options. We try to get takeout 2-3x month from Siam Valley Thai. Staff is always friendly. We have always received the items we ordered, never had any issues even when they are busy. Food has tons of flavor and they can make it nice and hot if requested. Good sized servings. Keep up the good work guys! read more

Very pricey for mediocre (at best) food. Papaya salad was a wilted mess. Pad broccoli container was half full of water and didn't have any flavor. Both were pretty gross. Steamed dumplings were good. I've never had a bad dish here, and I even challenged them by trying the sea bass in the middle of Vermont. Amazing, even to go during the COVID lockdown. I try to make sure to go here as much as possible to keep them around, as they're an unusual find in a small VT town. The wait may be longer than some restaurants in the area.
