    Pad Thai noodle with Scallop
    Audrey L.

Very attentive service, and friendly owner. My partner absolutely loved his green curry and raved about how tasty it was the whole dinner. My pad Thai was okay, not really what I expected. The sauce was way sweeter than I usually find for pad Thai, and the noodles were a little over cooked. Once I got past the initial shock to the tastebuds, it wasn't bad, though. The seating area has some really cool traditional decor, and some interesting and intricate carvings and paintings. I would've probably given it a 3 star if my partner hadn't loved his curry so much, so I'd say go for the curry, avoid the noodles.

4/5: Fast service. Owner was nice. I got the drunken noodles and that was my favorite dish. Duck was pretty tender which I enjoyed. Tried the other dishes too but wasnt what I wanted.

8.8/10 I ordered the Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Tom Kah Kai, and overall it was a great experience with standout flavors in every dish. The Pad Thai was definitely the highlight, perfectly cooked noodles coated in a rich, balanced sauce, and the beef was tender and flavorful. You really can't go wrong with it. The Panang Curry was also very enjoyable. The curry itself was creamy and full-bodied, and pairing it with rice really brought out the depth of flavor. I ordered it with chicken, which was good, but I do wish there had been a bit more of it. The Tom Kah Kai was incredibly rich and aromatic. The broth had a deep, comforting flavor, and the mushrooms were surprisingly the star, soaking up the soup and adding an extra layer of umami that made each bite better than the last. Service was fast and attentive, with the staff consistently checking in and keeping water filled, which I appreciated. The ambiance had a nice, authentic feel that really complemented the meal and made the whole experience more immersive.

My family dropped in for dinner and had a great experience! Service was great and dishes were solid. Portions were on the smaller side but flavor was good. We got a bunch of dishes to share, standouts were the Hawaiian fried rice, pad thai, and pangang curry. Beautiful decor, more of a homey, cozy spot.

Seafood Pad Thai and Thai tea

Today I used AI in my Tesla and asked where the best Pad Thai with fresh local seafood in Monterey was and it told me that Siamese Bay restaurant was absolutely incredible. My car was absolutely correct. The Pad Thai had shelled muscles, huge beautiful, delicious scallops, perfectly done shrimp and calamari. It was delicious. We had a great day at the Monterey Bay aquarium, which was totally packed, so I expected this place to have a huge wait, and we were seated immediately, and the food came out very quickly. Service was amazing. Food was incredible. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some authentic Thai food. The Thai tea was also delicious.

Really good food, everything was sooo delicious I had the muscles, Thai noddles, Thai ny steak. I highly recommend the owner was so lovely and kind he helped us order one of the best meals!!!!!!

Most of the appetizers are very good, especially the chicken satay and salmon spring rolls. Our go-to dishes are the drunken noodles, Thai basil fried rice, and hot&sour soup with shrimp. The only downside is the spice level. We ordered a 4 out of 5 expecting it to be pretty hot, but it was lacking in spice. If you like spicy food, you may want to ask for extra heat. The meal portions are generous. The atmosphere is very homey and cozy, especially during the colder months with the fireplace going. They're also very dog-friendly--we once brought our dog to sit outside, and they brought him his own water bowl.

We ordered thru DoorDash and I wanted to add a tiny salad dressing side of their amazing peanut house dressing. So I called and asked. They wanted to charge me an extra $4 plus tax! A $23 salad and they can't throw in a small extra dressing? Strike one. So I left the dressing as is. The salad came. It was supposed to be on spring greens. But there were huge chunks of ice burg lettuce (gross) and a little bit of green.Lots of meat but SUPER salty. The ginger vinaigrette dressing was mediocre at best, no ginger taste at all. Did not cut the saltiness of the meat at all. Strike two. The wantons were soggy and unappetizing. There were barely any peanuts. And absolutely none of the noodles that are described on the menu. So no noodles, cheap lettuce, and not even a free extra dressing. There goes $23 down the drain cuz I could barely eat it. What a disappointment. Strike 3! I'll maybe go back for the tofu Tom Yum. But I'll just stick with that. Their salads are a big NO. And really when your repeat customer is paying $$$$$ for a salad is it that crucial you ask for $4 for a tiny side dressing? Leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Might have to try out the new Thai up town.

I asked about the fish and they recommended the grilled sea bass, which was on a bed of mashed potatoes and spinach, with a caper cream lemon sauce. It was the sauce that made it work, with mashed potatoes that were a bit lumpy, and it sat on a handful of wilted spinach. I can't complain but it did remind me the of the frozen sea bass from Costco. The Osso buco was good too, a braised lamb shank, veggies, red wine sauce, mashed potatoes, and sautéed spinach. It reminded me of the lamb shank from Costco too. Don't get me wrong. Both were good. My mother always tells me I shouldn't order food that I make myself and now I know why. Tree House Cafe is a cute rustic place, has nice employees, and is a comfortable place for brunch with a satisfying big plate of food.

The restaurant is located on the lowest level of the Carmel Plaza, I really loved the location because there are plenty of places to park right around there. Between the two of us, we shared: - Miso cacio e pepe: we came specifically for this! It's one of their most well known dishes, and I highly highly recommend! So creamy and savory, and the mafaldine pasta has such a nice texture, the ruffled edges hold on to sauce perfectly. We also added a bit of gochujang that came with the bibimbap and it was so good with some spice. - Dolsot bibimbap: my husband's favorite Korean dish so of course we had to get it! An excellent variety of veggies, which was nice since we barely got any veg on vacation. The kalbi beef was so juicy and delicious, and not overcooked. - Matcha Tiramisu: absolute must get, so unique. The cake layers were soaked in matcha, and topped off with some fresh fruit. - Grapefruit sake spritz: I was on the fence between this cocktail and the yuzu champagne spritz. Our waitress said that the grapefruit spritz was much less sweet, and I am so glad I decided to go with that option! It was the perfect amount of sweetness, not overwhelming. Overall, my husband and I agreed that the matcha tiramisu was the best bite either of us had all weekend!

Unfortunately, the chow mein was one of the worst I've had. It was mostly noodles with very little meat, and the meat that was included tasted old. I ended up throwing away at least half of it. Normally, I would have sent it back, but since it was a delivery order that wasn't practical. I had hoped to save some for leftovers, but the quality wasn't good enough to justify reheating. I also ordered two char siu baos, but after my experience with the rest of the meal, my expectations are pretty low. My biggest concern was the packaging. None of the food was sealed in any way. The chow mein container had popped open during transit and was handed to me already open. The other takeout container wasn't taped or sticker-sealed either, and the soup came in a plastic container with no seal at all. In my opinion, restaurants using delivery services should place tamper-evident stickers or tape on all containers. Food should not be arriving open or capable of popping open during delivery. The lack of sealing was concerning and did not inspire confidence. The soup was also only about half full, which made me wonder whether some had spilled during transit or if that was the intended portion size. Overall, the beef with broccoli was merely okay, the chow mein was very disappointing, and the packaging raised concerns. Based on this experience, I do not plan to order from or visit this restaurant again.
