I don't want to admit how long I've been meaning to try Sidedoor Bagel, and I've been missing out for that time. The first time I ordered, I placed it at the counter. Service for a hot bagel sandwich in the AM before work was quick. I ordered the BECCY (sub cream cheese for American) on the jalapeño & cheddar bagel and throughly enjoyed it. It reminded me of an adult (and SO much better) version of McDonald's Egg McMuffin. The jalapeño & cheddar bagel had the perfect amount of heat, so it was not overpowering for my taste buds. I had also ordered for a friend, and everything came out correct. I have also placed an order online in the morning for an afternoon pick-up. Again, the order was correct and was ready when I arrived (but still warm like it hadn't been sitting for awhile). I tried a different bagel - flakey sea salt - and enjoyed that bagel as well. Sidedoor Bagel is more of a grab-and-go spot, but there is some outdoor seating. The young woman who I saw/interacted with both times was warm and welcoming. There is free street parking around the building. I would definitely recommend Sidedoor Bagel, and will be a repeat customer! read more

Had been wanting to try Side Door since they first opened, have heard such great things from everyone. Was not disappointed! This place is crazy fresh and delicious, finally Indy has bagel joint! I got the Lox and Loaded which is $13 but totally worth the price as an open faced sandwich loaded with salmon, cucumbers, pickled ginger and capers! It was so delicious and actually a ton of food. I got it on the garlic White cheddar bagel- a Saturday special- with jalepeno cream cheese. Can't recommend enough, the bagel itself was the best part. Next time I'd get the BECCY sando which I heard is incredible. Be warned.. the line gets insanely long on Saturday mornings! We went around 9am and it was already starting to pick up. read more

Even if your on the way there, its usually packed and has a line but they move fast, they have a large menu but also different daily options, looking for something not on the menu? I had no idea this place existed until a friend came to down and picked up 3 bagels to bring over and oh my they were absolutely incredible!! I'm not even a big fan of bagels but these were amazing. We tried the crab Rangoon on a spicy everything bagel, this was so unique and j could not recommend it enough. We also had the classic breakfast bagel which I would also get again. Finally we tried the bagel with locks and that was also great! I cannot wait to go back and get these again and try other ones! I went with the veggie bagel on a sesame bagel and garlic/herb smear. It was super tasty - especially that smoked tomato! I also got a chocolate chip cookie. Sadly, it didn't do much for me. The taste was too overwhelmingly coffee for me and overpowered the rest of the flavors. It also needed flaky salt on top to cut thru the bitterness. But, that's an easy fix. I'm always happy to support a local business over a national or regional chain, so I was pleasantly surprised when I heard about Sidedoor Bagel after seeing their name pop up on some "Best of" lists. Their location is fairly easy to find and is tucked in close to a growing area in downtown Indy. I ordered online and found that process to be quite user friendly and streamlined. Navigating the pick up process with kind of "clunky," especially on a busy Saturday morning when there was a line out the door. As for the interior space, I'd only say that is a little "tight," but times being what they are, it's best to get your wares out the door and then get people coming back. We tried the Cinnamon Raisin which was "ok" and the Everything, which was as good as any I've tasted. Great tastes throughout and superior texture. All told, I'm glad Indianapolis has another option for bagels and wish them continued success. read more

Exactly what downtown Indy was missing!! Sidedoor bagel is now considered an iconic place in Indy by many of its residents. The flavor, the texture, the community, and so much more that make this place as great as it is! There is a huge variety of bagels from spicy everything to garlic cheddar to rosemary - you won't be disappointed with any flavor. Even better are the schmears (scallion is my personal favorite) that are also available in tubs for purchase in store. I also can't forget all the great bagel Sammie options from the sweet PB+granola to the classic egg and cheese all for a very reasonable price of around $5-6 and the coffee slushie unlike any other. The staff is always happy and friendly and accommodating to any needs and questions you may have. They are definitely dedicated to this business because they have figured out how to feed a line of customers around wrapped around the block. Thus, my suggestion would be to order about 30 minutes ahead online if you are not wanting to wait on the weekends, but it is so worth it! My only comment is that I wish there was more seating inside the shop for colder months but I'm glad there is outdoor seating for the warmer months!! This place is a must visit!! read more

It has not been 24 hours since I went to Sidedoor for the first time and I am already dying to return! Not often in the city, we were a little daunted by the map's suggested route and unsure about parking but we let none of that stop us in pursuit of these delicious bagels! Not even the line which, while long, was handled in a timely manner. You may be waiting outside for a bit so dress appropriately. Rest assured, you won't remember your anxieties at all when you bite into these heavenly things. My husband and I walked away with three bagels and a peanut butter cookie latte. The latte could have stood to be stirred for maximum flavor but was still delicious. But the bagels!!! I highly recommend the spicy everything bagel with the garlic & herb spread. So much flavor, the perfect amount of bite to wake you up in the morning. A bit of garlic breath never killed anyone. We also grabbed a Beccy (bagel with egg, cheese, bacon, & spread) and it's no wonder this is their best seller. So freakin' delicious with all the right textures. Tried it on the double cheddar and I now so wish the world would switch to cheddar instead of Asiago as the bagel cheese of choice. Next time, we're bumping up the flavor with that garlic spread. It's so good okay?! My husband had high praise for the cinnamon sugar sesame bagel. It's a flavor I have not see anywhere else and, despite being a savory bagel purist, had me really tempted. While a bunch of flavors of bagels you'll find in stock daily, there was a sign on the wall indicating which flavors were specials on certain days of the week. Didn't try any this time (I don't think) but will definitely do so in the future. You can also buy bagels in (6?) packs either cold or room temp, as well merch and some pre packaged drinks. Everyone was so kind despite being wildly busy! From the cashier who commented on my sweatshirt, to the barista who was knocking out drinks like a pro, to the ladies staring down what I swear was 50 online orders, they were all lovely and efficient and made for an inviting atmosphere. The shop was really well decorated too. Still having a jovial fit about the beautiful sesame oil containers that had become pots for plants. Oh, and while tempting, please don't sit on the flour! Ok yum!! Been wanting to check this place out for a while and was so happy that I finally had the opportunity to go! This place definitely satisfied my bagel cravings. My partner and I got the Turkey run on an everything bagel and the veggie on the spicy everything bagel with garlic herb schmear. Both were delicious, but the veggie was especially my favorite. It was open face, and you could absolutely add Turkey or egg to it for all the meat lovers out there. Side Door was so good I went back just a few days after my first visit. Their bagels are hand rolled and just how you'd want them, with a crispy outside & chewy center. Plus they have flavors you won't find at other bagel shops. You can get them topped with a variety of schmears or as a sandwich like classic breakfast bagel (the BECCY), turkey, veggie, lox, or pb&j. I don't remember exactly how I stumbled upon Sidedoor Bagels Instagram over a year ago but I sure am glad I did and I have loved watching them grow! I used to get bagels delivered every so often on the weekend so when I found out they were having a shop open up, I was super excited for a new bagel place to add to my list. Can't lie. I've been to Sidedoor twice this week and I'm not ashamed of it! The first time I went, I got the salt bagel with the bacon and scallion and it was absolutely delicious. But there's just something about an onion bagel... especially one that's only available on Saturday! This bagel is so flavorful, soft, but crispy on the outside with the perfect onion flavor. The cream cheese... I had to buy an extra container of it because it is that good. I've found that some bacon cream cheese spreads can be very salty, but that not the case with this one. Finally! A yummy bagel shop in Indy! Sidedoor had a variety of bagel flavors, and has specialty bagels daily. They recently opened so expect a wait outside, but it was certainly worth it! I will say the only thing that caught be off guard was how close they had a rack of bagels right next to where people were paying/waiting for their order. I have been wanting to try Side Door Bagel for quite some time now, and I'm glad I finally had the chance to try it out! We got there a few minutes before opening, and there were already at least ten people waiting outside on a weekday morning! They have very unique and interesting flavors of both bagels and cream cheese. They also have rotating specials (be sure to checkout their Instagram before going there). Amidst the unique types, I went pretty traditional- splitting a cinnamon sugar & sesame bagel with cinnamon walnut cream cheese and splitting an everything bagel with plain shmear. They were both delicious and very flavorful. I also ordered a hot coffee. They serve Tinker Coffee (cold brew and hot). They have cream and oat milk, which is always a plus :) I went on a Thursday morning which meant $1 off coffee/ bagel+shmear combo. We ate outside at one of their picnic benches. Why the 4 stars? In my opinion it is a bit overpriced compared to other bakeries and bagel shops. I tried Sidedoor once about a year ago at a pop up at Tinker. The bagel I got was one of the only ones they had left, and it was SO hard I could barely bite through it, but the flavors were killer. Fast forward to now. With an newly-open storefront, drool-worthy Instagram posts, and rave reviews, I was determined to give Sidedoor another shot and I'm so glad I did. I tried the jalapeño and cheddar bagel and everything bagel, both with scallion cream cheese. I got there right when they opened and the bagels were fresh out of the oven. Let me just say, I thoroughly enjoyed these bagels. They were so chewy, warm, and had the perfect amount of schmear. We'll call my first try an anomaly because both of these were so delicious. Made a trip to Sidedoor Bagel this morning (9:30am on a Friday) and there was no line and only a couple people inside! They had limited parking behind the building but since people usually get their bagels to go, I would say the spaces were becoming available pretty quickly. They had so many options inside and they are all laid out so you can take a look at them (wish I would have gotten a picture of this but oh well). Today I tried the rosemary bialy with prosciutto and parm and it was delicious. These take a bit longer to make so when I showed up at 9:30am they were just finishing up and WOW they were delicious, soft, and warm. I will say I debated on this review for a couple of reasons that I will get to, but I have decided to go with a very well deserved 5. Overall, the bagels are great and it is already one of, if not, the best bagel shops in Indy, which we have always said Indy is missing. It is a locally owned shop that started at farmers market and opened this first brick and mortar very recently. They had 10 different bagel flavors, some normal and some original. I loved the basketball goal logo on some of their products and coffee cups. Since it is new with a lot of buzz, they had very long lines, but they kept the lines moving quickly and were super nice and helpful once inside. We didn't not feel rushed at all. They offered schemers and toasting. You can definitely tell they know what they're doing and appreciate the craft. I am excited to try more flavors and see how the place grows. That said, I had a couple cons that I wanted to mention, since I know this is a new shop. First, this time I decided on the egg in a bagel special, and it wasn't my favorite. I felt like it wasn't super warm, the cheese on the outside gave it a greasy texture / taste, and for $7, I thought price was a little high compared to a normal bagel. Second, it kind of weirded me out how the bagel trays were directly next to cash register, so basically everyone was walking by, breathing on them, etc. I know it's tight quarters and nit picking, but would prefer them back a little at least. Last, as I just said, it is very tight quarters and I would appreciated if somehow the number of customers in store would've been limited. Maybe even just a sign of "please only 5 customers in at once" or something. After we ordered, we had no where to stand and wait for ours because so many people inside, not to mention Covid spacing. I know it was cold, the line was long, and it is hard for them to limit or count, but that was just a slight con for me. Overall, I think this shop is going to be a great success once they work out some of the opening kinks, and we will definitely be back soon. read more

Wow! This little bagel shop is magic. Spicy everything bagel? Sign me up! The spicy everything was delicious. They had a wide variety of bagel and cream cheese flavors which is so fun. Next time, I am going to be more adventurous with my cream cheese pick. Service was wonderful. You order and pay at the counter. The inside is adorable. YUM! I get the hype now that I have tasted the hype. This place was straight up Bumpin'. I thought the cold weather would prevent people from wanting to wait in line outside, but clearly the secret is out. My spicy everything bagel with the garden veggie cream cheese was well worth the wait. The bagel was chewy, there were chunks of pepper in the cream cheese, and it was everything I was hoping for. I know this business owner just opened this year and the business has skyrocketed. I hope that they will open a second location one day in SoBro or Broad Ripple so the midtown folks have another location to get these bangin' bagels. Better than Shapiros, great selection and half off on day old bagels a real steal. Everything bagel and the rosemary/sea salt combo, dynamite, chewy and airy fresh they are out of bounds good. I blow my carb allowance every time I stop by, great variety of shmears as well, line out the door on weekends the real deal in Indy. FINALLY MADE IT and it was worth the wait. I have been wanting to try Sidedoor for the longest and just never made it happen. It has happened and it exceeded expecations. I'm not a huge bagel fan (I know, crazy) but the amount of goodness on these bagels makes them better. The breccy made the most sense for a Saturday brunch. We ordered online and came to pick up. There was a line out the door but once we got to the counter for our order they said we had to wait because they were making more bacon. We waited about 15 more minutes and when she came out to give us our food she said they added a cookie in our bag for the longer wait. A+ for customer service. We took our bagels to Highland Park nearby and had a wonderful picnic brunch. The only thing I wish I had done was order more bacon for my sandwich!
