I have been to Side Door two times on Saturday afternoons. It is very busy but the staff does great and service is always amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the new bagel flavors and the variety to pick from. I enjoyed the rosemary salt bagel this last visit. Not only do they offer bagels and schmear but also coffee/ tea beverages. Each time I ordered a vanilla iced latte that was great and my fiancé ordered an iced matcha. The space is a bit small but I believe that this is due to the fact of the name "side door bagel". There are tables outside in which you can sit to enjoy your food. A great future addition may be more seating options if possible. I ordered the BLT bagel sandwich which was very fresh and had great flavor, and the bacon was AMAZING. I added the scallion cream cheese and highly recommend. Good bagels - I showed up at the last hour and picked my bagels. Yes, I was there with an hour to go. They had the choices on the counter on a plate for you to point at. I ended up with 2 of the public counter bagels. I thought that was odd but I didn't die last week so it must just be my OCD acting up. Did 10 people touch my bagels? The bagel was fresh, warm, and cut in half to make it easier to eat out the bag. The smell lifts you up the moment you hit the block. I hope they expand and come to Midtown. They do have a little window table, but don't expect it to be free. This is still a grab-and-go place. We have been hearing about Sidedoor's Bagels for months now and they were always selling out. But recently, we were able to order a variety to try! We tried a plain, cinnamon, black pepper parm, a bialy, and a cookie! My favorite items were the cookie and the black pepper parm bagel. The cookie itself was fully packed with deliciousness and soft and chewy. The black pepper parm bagel was very unique to get the strong black pepper flavor throughout the bagel. We made that one into an egg sammy. I know nothing about bialy's so I dont know how they are to be eaten or prepared, but when I ate it it was very chewy. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be toasted, but if I were to try it again, I would definitely pop it in my toaster oven. Overall, if you are craving a bagel, this is a good place to get one! Honestly I really wanted to like this place... There is ALWAYS a long line and wait for your bagels - not their fault just be prepared. These are not traditional bagels - they're sourdough bagels. I found them to be so tough and chewy (it was like a jaw workout). I think their sandwiches look great, but I can't get over how tough the bagels are. $4 for a plain bagel and cream cheese is more than I expected - $2.50 for a plain bagel and then $1.50 for schmear on it (my usual shop runs me about $2 for both). If this place is your vibe, that's totally cool, just doesn't hit for me. There are more traditional, local, shops out there! read more

Welcoming Sidedoor Bagel to the neighborhood has been the best part of Christmas Eve 2021. I am so glad that they have a storefront within biking distance of my house. That will also be a test in 2022 of how often I will be eating bagels. The line was down the block this morning which speaks volumes to how many people already love their bagels. I've actually only had their bagels once before today at a pop-up with Tinker Street coffee. I may have posted before about that but my main take away from that one was that you can have too much fennel on an everything bagel. This morning I ordered a half dozen (cinnamon with sesame, jalapeño cheddar, poppy seed, spicy everything and rosemary salt) -so far they have all been delicious and exceeded my expectations. I am a true believer in delicious bagels and also a diehard fan of Bagel fair in Nora however Nora is far and they don't branch out on flavors (not that they need to!) On the corner of 10th and Dorman right after the overpass, side door bagel is boiling and baking up all of your bagel and schmear dreams. The bagels are insanely good! I tried the spicy everything with the jalapeño schemer and the bacon scallion schemer. The bagels were cooked perfectly and still warm when you take them out of the bag. The spot itself is super cute and going to be a great staple for the neighborhood. Waited about 30 minutes in line (got there at 8am) which wasn't bad. Awesome to see so many people are excited for this place to open. I think there is still room for improvement with the biggest being slicing the bagels. The everything bagel makes the biggest mess trying to cut with a plastic knife at work and it would have been greatly appreciated having it cut. Would also love to have the option of having it schemered so I could eat it as soon as I left. Also some kinks to increase speed with orders (maybe have one person do orders and one person bag).
