I've gone to Sidetrack Bar + Grill twice since they've opened and I absolutely love them! Sidetrack has been busy both of the times I've gone for dinner, however they do their best to seat you as quickly as possible. Sidetrack has a lot of delicious looking menu items, mostly burgers and sandwiches. The first time I went to Sidetrack I ordered The Cubano sandwich. It was delicious! The second time I went to Sidetrack, I was going to try something new but I ended up getting The Cubano again because it was so good last time. Once again, The Cubano was delicious. I also got dessert this time. I saw that creme brûlée was on their dessert menu so I had to get the creme brûlée. Creme brûlée is one of my favorite desserts. The service at Sidetrack is amazing as well! The servers are friendly and quick. Overall, Sidetrack is a great restaurant and I recommend it to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat. Enjoy! We had a horrible experience. The food was awful. They didn't pay attention to allergy requirements and gave us cold food that was sitting out for a long time. The waiter Jesus was incredible rude argumentative and made our experience so bad. We asked for a manager she was worse than him. We tried to explain why everything went so wrong and why we were upset and she didn't even care. She rushed us and had one foot in the door she was so worried about something else she didn't care what we were saying, and ignored our needs. My husband an I have been going to sidetrack for two years and have always been pleased with the meals .Our two last meals have been sub par. We had the shrimp an crab salad. the lettuce was not fresh an only 3 shrimp an very little crab. so sorry to see it go down hill. we told the waitress an she shrugged it off. read more

Trying to find something open late in Dublin / Pleasanton seems almost impossible sometimes, but I'm glad other places closed so my friends and I could find this place. And find is an accurate term - it's in the back of a lot and if you turn too soon (ex. Into the bank parking lot like your GPS might say), you'll miss it because there's a wall in the middle of the parking lot. The staff is super nice and there is a lot of seating both inside and a few tables on a patio. The place is super clean and they're decorated outside for the holidays. When you walk in, they'll ask if you want a table for dinner for are there for drinks. My friends and I got dinner, but man oh man are there a lot of options for drinks (will have to come back for those). The food came out really fast and the service was quick. Went on a Saturday night and it was popping! Really great vibe and super comfortable environment for large groups or families. Despite them just opening, the service was excellent! Our server knew exactly when to stop by and ask if we wanted anything else. On the same note, the food was pretty good as well! The menu was a bit limited with just small plates, burgers, sandwiches and salads for now. We started with the Scoozi and the Thai Chili Cauliflower Florets. The scoozi was savory, cheesy and hot and we all really enjoyed it. Paired with a refreshing Tomato Basil Fresca, it was perfect. The same couldn't be said about the florets though. They were cold and sweet, not my style. For the main entree I ordered The Impossible Burger with Sweet Potato Fries which was quite delicious. Definitely give it a shot if you've never tried the "impossible meat" before. The fries were crispy and light and complemented the burger well! The only real dislike for me were the drinks. While they don't have any cocktails on the menu yet, they do have a bar and can make pretty much anything according to our server. However most of the drinks we ordered (Moscow Mule, Lemondrop Martini and Screwdriver) weren't as refreshing as we would've hoped. However, I'm sure that can be improved with time and experience. Our group of 10 ate brunch here and I'm sorry to have to say the food was very subpar, we all agreed that the food was bland. Our food came out with very little warmth to it and all those that ordered coffee said it was barely warm. Who serves cold coffee out of a coffee pot? Several times we had to flag someone down for simple condiments. The lighting was also bad, you could barely see what was on your plate. BRISKET weekends are the bomb..... We have enjoyed the food here for years and happily drop in when we can. Recently a friend told us about Sidetrack's brisket weekend events. Based on the recommendation, we ordered a pound. It is by far the best brisket we have ever eaten. I say this as someone who used to live in Dallas where slow BBQ brisket is a religion. Update: They are super inconsistent. We just had the worst experience. We each ordered an omelet that came with an ingredient that wasn't on the menu, then they gave me a new one without the sides. When I asked for the sides it comes with they acted like they didn't know what type of sides it came with. They gave way smaller portions and didn't even give us the option for types or toast or offer jelly. Then to top it off, my boyfriend asked if he could sub a part of his omlet for sausage. "No problem" they said. And then without even letting us know they charged is $6 for it! Our waitress was super short with us the entire time and then of course tries to turn on the charm as soon as our screens turn to the tip page. Guess we're not going to sidetrack anymore. Holy cow! Today was by far the worst experience here. I've had inconsistent food and service over the past few years but It seemed to have gotten better. Today I dined alone and had my little dog with me for lunch. They were very busy and J on understood the wait for the table and initially, my server. I should say that the hostess was lovely and very sweet and friendly. She had us seated as soon as it was possible. She even came by a couple of times to ask if anyone had helped me yet. The first time it was a no, and she promptly had a server come by. The server(who repeatedly said, "my friend" to me, which was annoying but not the problem, took my simple order and said she'd be right back with water for my dog. She then disappeared. A young man later came out with my food. I had asked for one dish to go, to come at the end of my meal since it was a cold salad, but it came with my food. The server forgot my wine, forgot my dogs water and the young man had to go and remind her. She never once stopped by to see how my meal was, and it wasn't great. When she finally brought my check I had cash out and ready but she said she'd be back after getting her tablet. She never returned. I finall went inside to ask the sweet hostess if she would cash me out and expressed my dissatisfaction. The server appeared and cashed out my check, "sorry about that my friend." I typically leave a 22-30% gratuity, even if the service isn't that great but I can see the effort being made. Today I saw a lot of attention being paid to larger parties while I was ignored. Women dining alone is very common in the City, in Europe and we are treated with the same respect as everyone else. Not in this case. Now for the food- I always get a Kentucky Cobb Salad here, it's been one of my favorite items on the menu. Today it looked and tasted as if it had been prefabricated earlier in the day, missing the crumbled blue cheese and had 3 cherry tomatoes- sad wilted lettuce and not ice cold. I ate it because I was hungry and had waited a long time but I won't order it again. I ordered a shrimp/crab Louis to bring home for my husband. First of all it smelled so strong I question how fresh the fish is. Next there was a big stack of romaine leaves with 3 shrimp and about a tablespoon (I kid you not) of crabmeat on it With an egg and avocado. Everything was just thrown in this box, so unappetizing and zero value for the $20 this salad costs. I've eaten here many many times with friends and family but I can honestly say this will be the last- with all of the restaurants In Pleasanton there are certainly those who still try hard to make their customer experience a positive one. Thank you to the businesses and staff for their services during these times! ================= We seemed to have found ourselves in this area more often then not. And we just discovered Sidetrack! Great spot for the warmer / hot days - to sit out enjoy a few drinks, walk about downtown. We ended up here on a cooler day and started with red wine to help warm us up. I was surprised at the limited / average wine selection. Being near Livermore, there are a ton of vineyards which have great wine, at the same prices. The menu is also a bit limited - mainly sandwiches. Grilled Salmon - was a bit dry (for my taste). I think I'm really used to having fresh fish, and can now see the difference between frozen vs fresh. It also have a slight fishy smell, but didn't taste fishy. Slightly off putting. The french fries though, really good! crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The Hangover Burger - don't really think it would cure a hangover. The fried egg (what makes the burger) is supposed to be runny, we got fully cooked and hard. Medium rare seemed to be cooked a minute too long - but was still juicy. Overall the burger lacked flavor - we ended up asking for their special sauce - which didn't really help either. In general, it's a good place for a quick meal, and maybe the appetizers. This is a great spot right off the main hustle and bustle of Main St. Great spot to sit on the patio with a drink and people watch. Customer service here was top notch and very attentive. We were really happy with our appetizers which were the crab cakes and the Scoozi bread. Dinner salads were the perfect amount as well. We will return! read more

My wife and I have enjoyed the eating/drinking experience at the SideTrack for at least 15 times over the past two years. It is one of our destination restaurants while visiting Pleasanton. We tend to order essentially the same things every time, so are very familiar with the food we order. Yesterday, 3/13/24, we sat at approx. 11:30 am. Our order was as follows, with comments - - Beer - great - Avocado rolls - mediocre, at best. Did not seem "fresh". - Chicken wings/Cajun dry rub - seemed over fried, almost burned - Pastrami sandwich - ingredients did not seem fresh, especially pastrami. Won't order that again. - French fries, served with the Pastrami - very good, as usual. - Tacos (2 pork, 1 chicken) - served on 1 thin tortilla each. They all fell apart while being eaten. I eat these every time I'm there, but these were absolutely tasteless and unlike any eaten previously. Wait staff was cordial, helpful and friendly, as usual. All our problems were with the kitchen. We left full, but not in a good way. We will make one more attempt to visit in the next three months, hoping that whatever was "off" yesterday, will not repeat. read more

Service was very friendly, accommodating and genuinely concerned for their guests' experience. I had the Cuban sandwich and pulled pork. Came here to try the burgers, wasn't disappointed! I got the Sidetrack cheeseburger with garlic fries, while my friend got the Impossible burger with tater tots. The burger I got was super juicy, and my friend enjoyed his burger as well. The tater tots especially were sooo good. They were very crispy and honestly were perfect!! The service was great; the waiters were attentive and really friendly. I would definitely come back here again to try out the other burgers. Several things though - I was interested in ordering a cocktail but that part of the menu seems to be under construction. I didn't try any drinks from the bar myself, but it seems like those drinks could be improved upon from looking at other reviews (but it makes sense since it is a new restaurant). I think it would also be cool if they could offer more vegetarian options for the burgers using the Impossible patty or another patty substitute (like a bean patty). It came as a pair of large bite size halves, amidst generic rye bread, and the remaining HALF was greens ! It's not even mentioned on the menu that the greens are added. We used to enjoy the food + service at sidetrack, this has now changed. We are super disappointed with our experience tonight and we will not be returning. We ordered the ceviche appetizer and were super excited to try. we have ordered ceviche all over the world for years -- it's one of our favorite dishes. This was not classic ceviche. They served us cut up shrimp (roughy 2 shrimps) with basic Costco plastic tube salsa. The tortilla chips inside the salsa were already saggy when they arrived to our table. I ordered the wedge salad and added the Buffalo fried chicken. This was not a wedge salad like I've seen before. They brought out a handful of lettuce (vs a wedge), which included limited toppings and 3 dried up pieces of chicken for $20. We tried to enjoy our night and watch the warriors game, so we decided not to send any food back and just deal with it. First the food and now the service... we had the absolute worst service. Or should I say, no service? Our server came back to the table twice and was angry the entire night. It made us super uncomfortable. The owner/ manager kept walking by and I wish she would have seen that our server was not attending to tables and try to address the situation. Sidetrack Bar + Grill had a nice sports interior with many seats and monitors. I went with my lovely wife for an early dinner and was seated immediately. Although the staff were nice, they were very slow with our service. We had to ask for water several times and sometimes twice. It might've just been a one off situation as the restaurant wasn't busy. The food, was very good. We enjoyed the starters as well as the sidetrack burger and pastrami. That might be good enough for us to return for more : ) read more

Where to begin ... my sister came from out of town and we wanted to go downtown for lunch. So many choices! I decided to go to Sidetrack because of the location and nice outdoor patio. Fairly warm today, 84, and we were parched and ordered ice tea immediately! If I would have know that I was only going to get one glass, I would have stretched it out a bit. We ordered salads, which were delicious, and our waiter stopped ... wait, there's a better description, oh yeah ... he didn't "stop," as he did a drive by, he asked how our food was and he was gone before we even had a chance to ask for a refill of iced tea. He dropped off our bill but a different wait person (Jo) asked if she could help us with the bill, since we were just sitting there ... so we paid through her! What a nice person. Well since we didn't get to eat here, I can't comment on the food. We were out on the wait list and grabbed a drink while we waited. I got a sidetrack Manhattan which was very good by the way. But as we waited we received a call from the hostess that their bathroom wasn't working so they could not seat anyone for the rest of the night. 1. During COVID most places have closed their bathrooms. But as we drove away we watched them seat another party that was waiting. So. We were not at all happy and had to scramble to do as another restaurant on a Saturday night that could seat a party of 5. They get a F-. So I received a response from the owner Todd and I thank him for his response other then calling me ignorant. I understand that this was a situation beyond his control and he worked to fix it. I was just sharing our experience and how we felt at the time. We were literally on the phone with the hostess telling us we would not be seated while watching another group being seated. But I also understand GOOD customer service a simple apology would have gone a long way in this situation and we did NOT receive one. Todd I have heard good things about your restaurant and I really want to eat here. The ball is in your court on how we will make this happen, but calling a customer ignorant is not the way to go. We were looking to try a new place to eat and are so happy we chose Sidetrack! It did not disappoint! Staff was friendly and attentive. The food was so good and presentation was lovely. It looks like the photos online! My sister had the fish and chips which were done to perfection. I chose the sesame ahi salad and it was so good, I was a bit sad when I was done. My husband chose the chicken sandwich which he enjoyed and we shared garlic fries which had plenty of fresh garlic. Lots of good beer on tap and craft cocktails (The Doc Holiday).
