Great celebration yesterday. Everybody was kind and welcoming except for that beautiful young girl from Queens, Ariana, who didn't seem to be doing anything except for walking around showing up her costume; and making sure my sister and I did not eat at the restaurant. Tried to chase us away until we said we wanted to eat (we were on the sidewalk mind you). Tried to force us to sit in the back even lied about available tables until two unhappy customers gave us their table. Let us more than ten minutes on a dirty table until another embarrassed employee offered us assistance. Then creeped back to our table to ask personal questions: do we live in Piermont? Where are we from? Why are we in Piermont? She didn't get to ask what we do for a living because I had to chase her away. I was there to eat not to answer questions like a crime suspect. I am visiting my mother who lives in Rockland and was invited earlier this week by the lady at the APlace (store next door) to the celebration of the Prise de la Bastille and decided to take my sister. I will surely come back next year but will make another choice for the restaurant. Food was ok. I hope the owner educates their staff about racism. I went for lunch on Friday 4/30 and was going to sit outside and was waiting patiently for a table, waiter saw me and proceeded to seat 2 sets of people who just walked up. I approached and asked why he gave my table to people who arrived afterwards, he never answered and turned away. Incredibly rude young man, I've been here several times but never again. I went down the street and had an incredible lunch at Confetti's instead where they always welcome you and make you feel good about patronizing there business. Sidewalk Bistro has lost a customer for good due to the waiter who could care less about his job, and I have told other go elsewhere instead, so many better choices! read more

This specific location was hosting a wedding which was taking most of the attention away from this restaurant. We sat down in a barren dining room and got an almost equally barren menu. We both got mocktails, I got an espresso martini and she got an elderberry lemonade. She got a Cesar salad with skirt steak, and I got a burger with truffle fries. The mocktails were not great. The espresso martini was all bitter and no sweet. The lemonade was the same, though she doesn't like sweet drinks so it worked for her. We waited a good 45 minutes for food. The servers felt bad so they gave each of us a single sourdough roll, warmed up in the microwave with cold butter. A great thought, but also lacking. When food did come out, the salad was mostly stems with a quarter portion of gristled steak on the side. She immediately sent it back, asking for salmon instead. They sent a full salmon dinner in its place, which was much better and presented well. The burger, one of the worst I've had. Unseasoned, frozen, and overcooked with a stale bun and no condiments. The truffle fries were tiny chunks of potato, but seasoned liberally with truffle oil. So at least they got the fries right. The main reason they get the 2 is because the servers understood the mess of a meal we got and did everything in their power to make things right. We were even offered chocolate covered strawberries for dessert delivered to the room we were staying at (we still had to call them 30 minutes before closing to get them, which they delivered right away) this is burger shack food severed at high star hotel prices. I'm fairly confident that the kitchens attention was on the wedding and not us, and it showed in spades. My only complaint is room service can be difficult sometimes to get an answer when calling. Our favorite is their chicken Cesar salad. I miss the paillard and zucchini fries which where were amazing. Their wine selection is great at reasonable prices. The room service is quite quick if they are not inundated with weddings or events.

This place is such a vibe and I LOVE that they have free salsa dancing on Fridays for hotel guests (or $10 if you are not staying at the hotel). Great option for an alternative night out, they even have a free salsa class right before the salsa night if you want a salsa refresher. What a great idea and fun thing to do while visiting Nyack.

We liked everything we ordered except the shrimp ceviche. It just didn't taste right to me. The Mac and cheese looked great and my son scarfed it all down, though it wasn't too much for $18. Tostones were tasty. Empanadas were ok, but not too much filling compared to the shell size. They were definitely homemade though. The steak tacos were nice, though our favorite was definitely the stuffed mushrooms! They're delicious and come with some garlic bread to dip in the buttery yumminess. So good. Cocktails are good here and I think that's what they really specialize in. The $6 margarita was good and prepared not sweet as I requested. It's not big, but hey, it's $6. I tasted their red sangria and that was nice. Quite strong! It's overall a cozy place, service was attentive, but certainly think of it like a place for drinks more than dinner. The server Paige is great and service is unhurried and very comfortable like you are family. The ambiance is superb with room to talk without being on top of the next table. We were escorted to a quiet seating area that was impeccably clean and cozy. It was the perfect room for having a conversation. The waitress was very nice and professional. She had a solid knowledge of the menu and made helpful suggestions. My wife had an arugula salad starter and I had the homemade spaghetti cacio e pepe. I could tell that the spaghetti was homemade, because the texture was exceptional. The sauce was tasty and it was served at optimal temperature. My wife had the Faroe Island salmon and I had the branzino entree. Both pieces of fish were high quality and perfectly cooked. The accompaniments were just right, my wife enjoyed the bed of zucchini noodles. I went with the tartufo for dessert. Hadn't had tartufo in a while and this was a great example. A great ending to a lovely meal!
