Food tastes amazing and the service from the staff was top tier! The ambience of the place was very well lit and gave a cozy higher class vibe. I will be back often all summer!

Super cute restaurant with 2 outdoor seating area both in the front and back of the restaurant. Perfect for the warm weather. The restaurant was fairly busy at around 6pm on a Monday night and we were seated right away. I ordered the burger and asked for a medium but it was cooked well done. However the fries were super good. One star off for an issue with the menu. We ordered the mussel and fries as an entree but we're not told that a small order did not include fries. When our food arrived we asked the waiter about our fries and a manager came who was not the most pleasant. She could have definitely handled the situation differently. Overall, would still definitely return because the food was good!

One of the nicer restaurants in the area. Nice table clothed dining. Lacks French vibes but food is quite good. Wine list isn't too intimidating but nothing jumps out. Seafood pasta and duck dishes have a nice mix of elements and left us wanting more. For example the duck dish has both the confit (leg) and some duck breast. The only slight negative is that bread is NOT complimentary, which I joked about. But it is a tad unpleasant to wait for entrees with nothing to nosh on. Towards the end, the restaurant was gracious enough to provide a basket. Guess this isn't Europe ;)

Perhaps the BEST FRENCH ONION Soup I have ever tasted in my whole life!!!

Unreal place with amazing ambiance and the food is inexplicably good! This French onion soup was literally the best soup I have ever had simply "HANDS DOWN"! The owner and his wife as well as some regular patrons, made me feel like I was one of the regular crowd (just like family)...

What a lovely, lovely place do not stop in the front and sit there. Go into the restaurant and go out back to the garden. There's a bar in the garden. It's much cooler & it's a nicer vibe. It is nice ambience. Trust me you want to do that.. the food was delicious- my friend and I shared a pizette & salad- Oh, we did not take a picture of the cauliflower soup which was the soup of the day. Oh MG creamy delicious yummy! Everything here was wonderful the service is impeccable, and I cannot wait to go back and visit. This will be worth a stop.

Had an early Valentine's Day dinner with the wife the day before Valentine's Day. Brasserie Memere…read moreis an upscale French restaurant located in the Target plaza of Closter. The lighting is dim, the ambiance is intimate, and it looks romantic. I had made reservations so we were seated immediately. It's funny to note that the place settings were placed next to each other instead of across from each other at a four person table. We usually prefer to face each other, but when it's Valentine's day why not be cute? We ordered a few drinks during our dinner, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Memere 75, Avion en papier. My favorite was definitely the Avion en papier which had a slightly sweet, slightly bitter, citrusy taste. They had a pre fixe menu for Valentine's Day which unfortunately did not have the steak tartare i was interested in trying. But for $88, you get 3 courses: an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For our appetizers, we got the TARTARE DE THON (tuna tartare) and COCKTAIL DE CREVETTES GEANTES (shirmp cocktail). Between the two, i preferred the tuna tartare. The shrimp cocktail was good, but the only thing really special about it was the massive size of the shrimp and the freshly grated horseradish in the cocktail sauce. For our entrees, we got the CASSOULET DE CANARD and FILET MIGNON. The extremely tender duck leg confit was served with pancetta, white beans, toulouse sausage, and foie gras breadcrumb. It was rich, savory, fatty, and filling. All great words to describe food. The duck leg confit reminded me a little bit of a smoked turkey leg with the red coloring and shreddable texture. The filet mignon was served with pomme purée, wild mushrooms, and a bordelaise sauce. The filet was cooked medium rare as requested, but a bit under salted. The pomme purée aka mashed potatoes tasted like it was 50% butter so it was obviously delicious. Dessert was good, but my least favorite part of the meal. We got the TAHITIAN VANILLA CRÈME BRÛLÉE and the VALRHONA CHOCOLAT POT AU CRÈME. Both were very sweet. The brûlée crust did not shatter well, but it otherwise had a nice creamy texture. The chocolate pot was covered in flaky feuilletine which gave a nice contrast to the creamy chocolate, but my wife found the brandied cherries overpowering. The cherries made me think of German chocolate cake. Service was excellent. Staff was quick to refill water and checked on us constantly. Pace of the meal was relaxed and I'd even say they were slow to bring us the check since we had been dining for over 2 hours. My wife wants me to bring her back for their bottomless brunch on a Sunday so I will eventually be back.

The word brasserie comes from the Middle French brasser, meaning "to brew," and Brasserie D honors that tradition with an extensive selection of beers, as well as a curated list of wines and spirits. The service, ambiance, and menu are quintessentially French, featuring classic dishes from across the regions--including specialties from Alsace. We began our feast with a rustic Pâté de Campagne, accompanied by cornichons, mixed greens, and toasted baguette. We also shared Hareng Pomme à l'Huile--smoked herring imported from France, served over warm, tender potatoes. The youngest in our party kept himself occupied with his Nintendo Switch and two generous helpings of Alain's world-class pommes frites. After careful deliberation, he declared them superior to McDonald's--a high honor in the world of six-year-olds. For mains, standouts included the hearty Beef Bourguignon, the tender Jarret d'Agneau (braised lamb shank with root vegetables in an orange-rosemary sauce), and the regional showstopper Choucroute Colmar--a robust dish of smoked meats and sausages served over sauerkraut. Brasserie D is a true gem--authentic, welcoming, and well worth the trip on Metro North for a meal that satisfies both palate and spirit.

Well, it looked a lot better than what it was. It was totally bland and certainly not a pound and a half of lobster meat. It was truly disappointing.
