Cute brasserie in Cold Spring. Menu was an interesting mix of French bistro classics, together with other European classics. I love mussels and they had tons of options to choose from. Opted for the Espagnola version which came with chorizo. This was really good. The cassoulet was big and generous. Came with some duck, sausage etc. really good. It's hard to come by a great cassoulet but theirs was phenomenal. Overall the dishes were great value for money. Ambience was cute. Service was great. Definitely worth coming to if you're in. What a cute little gem in Cold Spring! It looks tiny from the outside but they actually have lots of indoor seating and an adorable back patio/garden. We've been there twice now. The mussels are good, albeit small, and they have 5 different broths to choose from. My husband ordered the cassoulet which was unbelievable. We shared the most yummy escargot to start. Dessert and wine is also good!

Lunched here with my daughter and her boyfriend. We sat outside on the deck. It was lovely. The restaurant was very busy but all the folks we had contact with were friendly and happy. We started with the 3 cheese appetizer. The cheeses and bread were wonderful! I had the French martini. It was delicious! My meal was the lamb burger. It was as good as it sounded when it jumped off the menu at me. Jack had the steak sandwich which he thoroughly enjoyed. My daughter had the French onion soup with the Le Bouchon salad. She loved both. Recommend you try this place!

I went here with my parents for lunch. We had the Flamenkuche Flatbread as an appetizer, my mom & I had the Steak Au Poivre, and my dad had the Seared Salmon. Everything was delicious! The staff were friendly and the ambiance was very French Bistro-ish.

Great French bistro with a great outdoor patio. You can definitely feel the place is cooking with some love. Pet and kid friendly :)

Disappointing spot. The complimentary sourdough bread they serve before your food was perfect to whet your appetite. We enjoyed it so much we ended up getting four baskets! ...before we realized there was mold on it... So unfortunately, there ended up being two baskets of bread that had mold on it. That ended up killing the excitement for the food that we were waiting for. The goat cheese tart was decent. It was sharp and tangy. I didn't like that the accompanying greens was also very vinegary. The flavor felt overwhelming. The cassoulet was good. It had an abundant amount of beans and sausages. The Mac and cheese was the most unsatisfactory dish because it was so bland. It felt like there was no salt or seasoning.

Great bistro with outdoor patio and classic menu. Frisée salad was excellent, runny egg, crispy lardons, classic. Lamb burger was juicy, soft and served medium rare, another win. Glass of Cote de Rhône was solid, bottled beers a plenty to choose from. Friendly staff and modest wait for food make this a solid recommendation.

Good food. We tried the onion soup, which my boyfriend said it was pretty great (8/10). I tried the charcuterie plate which lacked cheese but overall delicious. The steak frites was also good. I wasn't a big fan of the mac and cheese. Great wine list and good martini. Service was quick but at one point once the mains were delivered they forgot about us for a bit. We sat outside, which was a bit chilly but a great time. It was funny to use the lanterns to read the menu. Super recommend to try it out after a hike. Great food and great service.

We pass by this area all the time to go hiking and heard about this cute little French restaurant so decided to try on a weekend. Did not make a reservation and was seated immediately. There were street parking outside and usually should not be an issue. The restaurant is small and cozy, tables are fairly close together, but doesn't feel too crowded. Our server was very nice and happy and was very helpful with the menu. We got a few classic French dishes like onion soup, foie gras, mac&cheese, etc. Everything turned out great. This is obviously not your 3 Michelin star French restaurant, more like an everyday family type French restaurant. We left the restaurant feeling satisfied and would definitely come again. Price-wise, it was very reasonable, only one of our dishes was over $20, you will definitely get great food for what you pay.

We were hungry, and love French food. There was a short wait for tables, and then we were seated inside this charming restaurant. I was tempted by the lamb burger, but had the Croque Monsieur instead. It was a rather a different take--a piece of ham and a piece of cheese were on top of a large, eggy slice of bread. Interesting. Not the usual Croque Monsieur. My mother had goat cheese tartelettes, which she loved. My French fries, alas, did not make the cut. They were crispy, but oddly dry and tasteless. I saved lots of calories and carbs by not eating them. Service was pleasant and cheerful. It did take quite a long while to get our coffee, but when it arrived, it was from a fresh pot and delicious. We had to ask for more cream, but it arrived promptly. The vibe is bustling and European. The crowd seemed well-dressed and mostly young.

There was a long time waiting outside so we decided to check this place out. There was a lot of people here so there was a nice white noise in the background. Service however, was really slow. I had to asked 3 times before the waiter finally got me my hot sauce. The Baked Brie basically tasted like a sandwich with ham, egg and cheese. French Onion Soup was my friends go to order but personally I couldn't understand the hype of it. There is a 3.75% non cash price. Their system does not take debit cards so you can either pay in cash or credit cards, heads up!

Although Poughkeepsie has a decent variety of excellent restaurant options, there aren't a lot of upscale places to select from. We opted to book reservations for Brasserie 292 for a Saturday night. When we arrived, we were nearing the end of the dinner rush. We were sat right away, unfortunately it wasn't all too romantic being sat in the middle of the restaurant but understandably the restaurant is on the smaller side. The waiter was attentive, and addressed any of our questions about the menu, even hunting down the bottle of pinot noir we ordered. We opted to start off our night by splitting a half-dozen oysters which came with their in-house hot sauce, and an order of pouple, which was cooked to perfection. For our entrees we selected the red wine braised lamb shank and the dry aged prime NY steak. Since sides for both entrees were not mentioned on the menu, we also ordered sides - wild mushrooms, brussels sprouts and crispy smoked peewee potatoes. Overall the food was excellent and I'm still dreaming about the mushrooms. If we lived locally, would we go back, maybe but overall we had a great experience. Since this was an upscale restaurant, I opted to not photograph our meals and enjoyed being present in the moment.

But I'm giving 4 stars because what I DID have was really good! I don't see it on the online menu so it may have been a special -- but they did a mushroom/vegetable risotto, which was flavorful and the perfect size to not overwhelm. If I can find out whether this is part of the regular menu, I'll return just for that! Service was great -- we were going to an event at the convention center, and could walk from there. So if you're going to something at the convention center and want a nice meal (especially date night) ahead of time, I'd suggest checking this place out.

The word brasserie comes from the Middle French brasser, meaning "to brew," and Brasserie D honors that tradition with an extensive selection of beers, as well as a curated list of wines and spirits. The service, ambiance, and menu are quintessentially French, featuring classic dishes from across the regions--including specialties from Alsace. We began our feast with a rustic Pâté de Campagne, accompanied by cornichons, mixed greens, and toasted baguette. We also shared Hareng Pomme à l'Huile--smoked herring imported from France, served over warm, tender potatoes. The youngest in our party kept himself occupied with his Nintendo Switch and two generous helpings of Alain's world-class pommes frites. After careful deliberation, he declared them superior to McDonald's--a high honor in the world of six-year-olds. For mains, standouts included the hearty Beef Bourguignon, the tender Jarret d'Agneau (braised lamb shank with root vegetables in an orange-rosemary sauce), and the regional showstopper Choucroute Colmar--a robust dish of smoked meats and sausages served over sauerkraut. Brasserie D is a true gem--authentic, welcoming, and well worth the trip on Metro North for a meal that satisfies both palate and spirit.

Well, it looked a lot better than what it was. It was totally bland and certainly not a pound and a half of lobster meat. It was truly disappointing. The lighting is dim, the ambiance is intimate, and it looks romantic. I had made reservations so we were seated immediately. It's funny to note that the place settings were placed next to each other instead of across from each other at a four person table. We usually prefer to face each other, but when it's Valentine's day why not be cute? We ordered a few drinks during our dinner, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Memere 75, Avion en papier. My favorite was definitely the Avion en papier which had a slightly sweet, slightly bitter, citrusy taste. They had a pre fixe menu for Valentine's Day which unfortunately did not have the steak tartare i was interested in trying. But for $88, you get 3 courses: an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For our appetizers, we got the TARTARE DE THON (tuna tartare) and COCKTAIL DE CREVETTES GEANTES (shirmp cocktail). Between the two, i preferred the tuna tartare. The shrimp cocktail was good, but the only thing really special about it was the massive size of the shrimp and the freshly grated horseradish in the cocktail sauce. For our entrees, we got the CASSOULET DE CANARD and FILET MIGNON. The extremely tender duck leg confit was served with pancetta, white beans, toulouse sausage, and foie gras breadcrumb. It was rich, savory, fatty, and filling. All great words to describe food. The duck leg confit reminded me a little bit of a smoked turkey leg with the red coloring and shreddable texture. The filet mignon was served with pomme purée, wild mushrooms, and a bordelaise sauce. The filet was cooked medium rare as requested, but a bit under salted. The pomme purée aka mashed potatoes tasted like it was 50% butter so it was obviously delicious. Dessert was good, but my least favorite part of the meal. We got the TAHITIAN VANILLA CRÈME BRÛLÉE and the VALRHONA CHOCOLAT POT AU CRÈME. Both were very sweet. The brûlée crust did not shatter well, but it otherwise had a nice creamy texture. The chocolate pot was covered in flaky feuilletine which gave a nice contrast to the creamy chocolate, but my wife found the brandied cherries overpowering. The cherries made me think of German chocolate cake. Service was excellent. Staff was quick to refill water and checked on us constantly. Pace of the meal was relaxed and I'd even say they were slow to bring us the check since we had been dining for over 2 hours. My wife wants me to bring her back for their bottomless brunch on a Sunday so I will eventually be back.

We were the only customers dining in but there was a steady line of people picking up food to-go. Service was very friendly and the food was great. I got the French Dip Au Jus and my girlfriend got the Brasserie Burger with mushrooms and Swiss cheese (cooked medium). My niece is 20 months old so we just decided we'd let her have some bites of our food. The food took a little bit to come out, but I guess that means it really is made to order. I started off with the French Dip and it had a decent amount of meat on it. The bread was nicely toasted and the Jus was super flavorful. My niece actually liked it a lot and dipped her french fries in it. Even without the Jus the sandwich meat was moist and flavorful while the bread did a good job of soaking up the juices and adding crunch. The burger was also surprisingly good. The patty was actually cooked to medium so it was also juicy and flavorful. Mushroom and swiss is an undefeated combo on burgers provided the meat is good, and in this case the meat was quite good. Both entrees came with some fries and greens which were average. We also had black coffee with our food which was pretty good. It's on the pricier side, but it seems to be reflected in the quality of the food. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this spontaneous meal. I would certainly come back.
