It is a nice dinner spot in the heart of River North. No complaints about the service, it was average. The lighting is really dark in the restaurant, it was really cold in the restaurant too. I enjoyed the Focaccia with a Garlic/Artichoke Spread. For my entree, I had the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. It came out fresh and quick. It was really flavorful and filling. Cool vibe when you walk in and lively music playing that makes you want to dance a bit, but it's not too loud to hinder conversation. Wait time given was 25-30 min for a table at 8pm on a Saturday for 3 people but ended up at 1:15 when the text finally came. Luckily we found a bar spot well before to mitigate the wait time.Bartenders didn't seem too attentive despite there being 3-4 of them, and would often talk amongst themselves or with other staff. Food was the real redeeming factor here. Everything in my group was very tasty, though a bit small if you're really hungry. Unfortunately the chicken parm doesn't come with pasta. I forgot to ask but that would be nice to note on the menu, when ordering, or even to offer it as an addition. Taste was great, along with the sea bass and pizza we had. Brussels sprouts and green beans for sides were okay, but didn't really do it for me personally. Billing was an issue, starting with a 3.95% surcharge that we requested off and took quite a while (see bartender attentiveness above) and then the receipt had a QR code to split but tha ended up causing more confusion than just putting multiple cards down. An alternative is to only get one spread (they're all really good), but I still recommend more focaccia! Light, fluffy, and airy, this was a pillow with a light coat of oil and topped with sea salt. Pockets in the bread gave surface area for the spread to relax before hugging taste buds. Squid Ink Linguine - al dente linguine, firm enough on impact yet slightly tender inside. Picked up the lobster cream sauce well and the sauce was delicious. Rich and thickened with some cheesiness, there was more than enough to go around for the pasta. On the side, a lobster tail was prepared well with the meat mostly out. Simple to eat while maintaining a wonderful and complete appearance. Dinner at Sienna Tavern was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The Sienna Chopped Salad was bursting with so many delicious flavors in every single bite. First time visiting. We happen to walk by this place after checking in to our hotel. So glad we stopped the food was delicious. We enjoyed the 2 Course Lunch Menu. Also enjoyed a few cocktails. We found this on the whim and definitely glad we came here. Food was amazing, as you can see, we started eating before I could get a pic of the food. We got a the burnt pepperoni pizza, French 75, my SIL got the seafood spaghetti and the number 2 on the alcohol menu! Pricing wasn't too bad. Except there is a random tax of 3.95%. The hostess was ok, but a little confusing when she asked how many and we said "2", she said "There is an hour and a half limit"...we didn't quite understand that and asked if that was a wait to get a table and she explained we couldn't be there more than that time...ok. Siena Tavern is a pretty good option for brunch or dinner in River North. This is not the place to go if you are in a rush. The wait staff tend to take awhile to notice you and attend to you, so if you're in a time crunch just know there will be longer waiting periods. This place is usually busy during happy hours and can be quite loud then. If you want to come at a quiet time, I recommend their burrata, pizzas, their Parmesan fries (which are to die for) and Brussels sprouts. They have a pretty good array of happy hour cocktails as well. If you're look for a good sharing meal, I recommend the package dinner with family burrata, a truffle or margarita pizza, and the vodka sauce pasta. read more

Margherita had sun dried tomatoes which I usually dont like but they were sweet(drizzled with honey possibly?). 8/10. Crispy crust and bottom, great pie i cannot lie. I was told it was cooked but didn't finish it. I don't really enjoy non well done beef so maybe this was a poor choice on my end! Otherwise, everything else was amazing and so delicious. I made a lunch reservation to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was pretty empty on a Monday so we could've just walked in without one. They let us sit anywhere. They have some outdoor seating. The interior was nice and clean. Coccoli (4/5): This is a traditional Tuscan fried dough snack served hot with prosciutto and cheese. This was paired with truffle honey. So good! It felt really light even thought it was fried. A bit oily. Truffle mushroom pizza (4/5): I love a mushroom pizza so I had to try. The crust had a great crunch. The cheese was a little overpowering. I would've loved more mushrooms. Gnocchi (5/5): The sauce was truffle cream with fried sage and crispy pancetta. The gnocchi was so light and pillowly. I loved the texture. It paired well with the creamy sauce. The pancetta felt a bit too crisp and burnt almost. Spaghetti (4/5): This had jumbo lump crab, charred tomato, red chili, with a lemon cream sauce. I thought the sauce would be lighter but it still worked well! The crab had great flavor with actual good sized chunks. Everything was so delicious. The service was good and attentive. Wow, the food here is amazing. I was a little skeptical because it was so easy to get a reservation for ten within two hours, but that's primarily because it's such a large restaurant. I tried the Tuscan kale salad and a pasta dish, and overall it was a solid experience with a few highs and a couple things that missed the mark. The Tuscan kale salad was honestly one of my favorite parts of the meal. I really liked that they used breadcrumbs instead of croutons--it made it easier to get a good bite every time without it feeling too heavy. I also asked for the dressing on the side, which worked out perfectly. The roasted tomatoes were such a nice touch--slightly sweet and paired really well with the kale. The only downside was the shaved parmesan, which tasted a little stale and didn't have that fresh, sharp flavor I was expecting. For the pasta, the sauce was definitely the standout. It's one of the better sauces I've had in the city, and the sauce-to-pasta ratio was on point. The pasta itself was cooked al dente, and once it cooled down a bit, it had a really nice texture. That said, it felt like it was missing something--maybe a bit more cheese or a little spice to elevate it. It started off strong, but after a while the flavor became a bit repetitive. Overall, I'd rate the pasta around a 7/10. It's good and worth trying, but not the best I've had in the city. Had a fantastic experience at Siena Tavern!! We got a private room for the last day of a team offsite and it was just about perfect! The room was beautiful and I loved that it was tucked away from the commotion of the rest of the restaurant. The service was great, they had a few waiters taking care of us and they were incredibly attentive. The food was also amazingggggggg. Starting with burrata is always a win for me and the tomato jam was TASTY. The Caesar salad also won me over, much more challenging to do. The pasta dishes were very good as well, I preferred the risotto but the vodka sauce pasta was also delish. Our mains were both very good and I couldn't stop eating the dessert! It's definitely a great starter dish and was highly recommended by our waiter. Our pastas were great too. We ordered the Squid Ink pasta and the Gnocchi, both arrived promptly after our appetizer. I was close to the 'production' end of the bar, so it was fun to watch the bartenders take care of all the server's orders. It is a hectic environment, and maybe is a bit more sedate at the tables. My food came out quickly and was delicious! I got the Seabass, a great piece of tender fish with a light and tasty sauce and a wonderful salad. Seabass is always a bit pricey, but it was worth it. Service was helpful without being in the way. The portions are generous and everything was deliciously seasoned--I'm going to be thinking about the giant wagyu meatball for a while. For my entree, I had the spaghetti with jumbo lump crab. It was FIRE!! I added shrimp to mine, and I literally ate the whole bowl. 10/10. For dessert, I had the lemon sorbet. Again, 10/10.
