For antipasta, the Burrata and Grilled Octopus were great. If I were to come back on my own dime, I would prioritize the Burrata. For dinner, I shared the Tortellacci and Baked Lasagna. Both of these were fantastic. I can't decide which I liked better. Maybe the Lasagna. For dessert, we ordered one of everything and got flights of the Gelati & Sorbetti. All of the desserts were excellent. I ate way too much and now my stomach hurts. The Salted Caramal, S'Mores, and Malted Milk Chocolate stood out to me of the Gelatis. Can't go wrong. read more

We walked in at around 6:30ish on a Tuesday unprepared for the onslaught of button downs with Patagonia. Tasty but nothing to write home too. The dressing was nice. Truffle Pizza: 3/5 The flavor was pretty good. Didn't taste that much truffle which is fine by me but the mushroom popped off so that was nice. The crust was perfect. BUT the underside? Undercooked. Way too doughy, not even a tan on that backside. The pizza was cold. It was a minute bc that cheese was just sitting there. So that was disappointing. $24. The pizza was split. 8 slices (?) maybe 14 inches? Service: 4/5 We were able to get full service at the bar so that was great. Brian/Bryan was nice to us and checked in for the whole service despite the business. Other ppl did help us from time to time. We were waiting for a bit to get our food while the guy next to us was already being served and he kept updating us on the eta. That was nice. Came back for happy hour (3-6 pm in bar area) and was so glad we did! We had the following: arancini (scamorza cheese, arrabbiata, fried prosciutto), wagyu beef meatball slider (bellwether ricotta, pomodoro sauce), mini tavern burger slider (truffle aioli, balsamic caramelized onions, arugula, fontina), sea bass milanese slider (lemon caper aioli), and squid ink linguini (grilled lobster tail, spicy lobster cream). The sliders were pretty small but not going to complain since they were $4 each. My small child ate two sliders and two arancini when normally she eats ~half a kid's meal and says she's full. The clear favorite slider was the wagyu beef meatball. It was the most flavorful and filling of the three. The arancini were also good and my toddler happily gobbled them down. The sauce it comes with has a slight kick but she only noticed afterwards. The squid ink linquini was delicious and paired perfectly with the lobster. However, the pasta sauce was a bit on the heavy side. Will be back again to try more menu items (hopefully sooner rather than later)! read more

Haven't been since pre covid, it's got the same good vibe that I remember, decor is the same. It's a bustling place with Euro EDM in the background. Service from the bartender was solid. We decided to take advantage of the start of spring and wanted somewhere dog friendly. *Siena Tavern enters the chat* Very cute and spacious patio and happy to have your four legged babies join for dinner as well. We were excited to see the "Puppy Ciao" menu that has been advertised on chose Chicago and Timeout, but when we asked our waitress informed us that they didn't have a dog menu. She was able to offer us simple grilled chicken for the dogs however. The menu is classic Italian with lots of truffle options (music to my ears). I opted for the truffle mushroom pizza which was very good, but I wish there was more truffle flavor. Maybe it's me, I just need more truffle in my life. The pastas were all great and delicious. The tortellacci was stuffed with a spicy crab fillings. It was different and very delicious. Loved the sauce! Menu items are a tad on the pricier side. Cool, buzzy room where I met an old colleague for cocktails and apps before dinner...so my food review is pretty limited. Service was fabulous, wines by the glass list perfectly good, nice selection of specialty cocktails (and they made my own favorite even though it wasn't on the menu -- black manhattan -- which every bartender should know, so bravo). For apps, we split the brussels sprouts side (well prepared and spiced with, of course, the obligatory pancetta chunks -- it was terrific) and the tuna crudo. The latter was a borderline ridiculously small portion -- we were expecting more -- but it was mighty delicious. Review is strictly on an experience I had on New Years Eve during their special pre-fix menu. Their NYE menu was $95/person which offered a 4 course meal. We had a nice waitress that checked in with us often and when asked about preferences, she gave them which was nice. The bus boys were attentive, but at a times felt like they cleared our plates TOO quickly. One asked if he could take my plate while I was mid bite and still had one more bite left in my plate. Plates were good, but some plates had smaller portions than expected. The main was the only course I felt was appropriately portioned. First course: Wasn't a fan of the Coccoli. My boyfriend had the burrata which looked good. Second course: gnocchi was excellent, 1 of 2 of my favorite dishes of the evening. I'd love to come back and just order the gnocchi. My boyfriend had the orecchiette which wasn't anything special. Third course: I had the short rib as my main which was great! Salmon was had by my boyfriend which was also great. Both of these dishes were properly portioned. Sides were alle cart which we didn't order. Fourth course: tiramisu which wasn't good. It was a puff (same puff used in my first course) with a chocolate mousse and a strip of chocolate. Thought the desert would have been constructed a bit more traditional. They came around with NYE party hats and a champagne toast. I was disappointed they didn't do a countdown to midnight, however. They had a nice DJ all night and thought they would have utilized a more festive feeling with the DJ there for midnight. I'd come back and try Siena on its own without a prefixed menu. We came here for midday lunch and ended up all trying the 2-course lunch special. For $29 you can order a starter and a main from their prechosen menu and this was an AMAZING choice. I got the kale caesar salad and the burger and enjoyed every single bite. The burger and rigatoni I think were the real stars of the mains, and I loved the Kale Ceasar. I felt there was a great variety and allowed you to try a lot of options for a fair price. Service was great, and we ended our meal with the gelato flight and cappuccinos. Here is what stood out: - Great wine list...lots of Italian wines, especially, to choose from. - Food was really good. We started with the Burrata, Meatball, and Grilled Octopus appetizers...all great. I ordered the Orecchiette, which was good but a little heavy due to the homemade sausage. All the pastas everyone ordered were great. We also ordered the Siena Chopped and Brussels Sprout salads, for the 6 of us to share. Desserts of Bomboloni, Tiramisu, and Lemon Ricotta Cake nearly put us over the top! - Service was excellent. The only annoying thing was that they automatically add on a "3% Surcharge" without any notice, and the pre-printed tip options start at 20% and go to 25%. We came here for restaurant week and the $59 prix fixe menu. Beautiful restaurant.. great ambiance; easy to have a conversation. Service was spot on. Our waiter came to our table shortly after we were seated and offered water. Gave us time to peruse the menu and took our drink and food order. He was also quick to ask if we were ready for our next course when we finished. We both started with the wagyu meatball and it was delicious. Very tender and flavorful with a delicious ragú sauce and toasted garlic bread. Our second course was chopped salad. Very good. Nothing incredible, but good. For our main entrees, I got the oricchetti, which had prosciutto. It was devine. Pasta was delicious and cooked perfectly, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and the prosciutto added a punch of flavor. Maybe a bit too much garlic, but so good. What a Fabulous meal. Reservations are a must. We started with COCCOLI; Crispy dough, stracchino cheese, prosciutto di parma, truffle honey. The crispy dough was like puff pastry. Our server suggested we eat it like a small sandwich. Rip open the bread and put a piece of prosciutto with the cheese inside. It was puffy and creamy and delicious. Second was the TUSCAN KALE CAESAR*Oven-dried tomato, parmesan breadcrumbs, lemon caesar dressing. I liked it my husband did not. But I like kale and he does not. It was a lot of kale. Entrees: mine SPAGHETTI; Jumbo lump crab, charred tomato, & lemon cream sauce. The spaghetti was tender and you can tell it is made fresh. There was a lot of crab meat. It was really good. Husband got BRICK CHICKEN DIAVOLO: Sticky parmesan potatoes, arugula, cherry tomato, grilled lemon. He did not like the arugul. It was very very arugula. Chicken had great seasoning. Potatoes were crispy not at all sticky. Dessert was CHOCOLATE GIANDUJA BAR; brownie, hazelnut ganache, milk chocolate mousse, hazelnut praline with some goldleaf. It was good not great. Zero chocolate flavor. What was good was BOMBOLONI: with caramel, chocolate hazelnut, raspberry chianti sauces. It was 4 fresh doughnuts. The kind you typically get with a cream filling inside. They were coated in sugar. All three sauces were good but the caramel was out of this world good. Our server did an amazing job and he had a great personality. We truly had a wonderful meal. Our server, nice enough, but big gaps in water refills by anyone. Apps Meatball was the best thing. Grilled Octopus was very off putting. The octopus was mushy texture. The sauces? were not complimentary to the octopus at all. Overall impression of the food was that it was hit and miss. More misses overall. Between the Lags in refills, chipped plates (obviously chipped plates) more than 1 like at least 2) The absolute worst tiramisu it was separating and had a distinct odd crunch? Walked in with no reservation. Was here less than an hour total. Had an old fashioned & French 75. French 75 was solid, basic but good. Old fashioned was very watery and not worth $17.99. Overall food was not bad, but we can confidently say we have had much better meals in Chicago for this price than we did here. Both were great but a tad bit expensive. For food, we ordered the Rigatoni Alla Vodka, Truffle Mushroom pizza and Butternut squash Tortellacci. The food was really good, especially the Tortellacci. Our server was very accommodating with our dietary restrictions. To congratulate us, the restaurant presented us with a signed card and also a cute little donut with a candle. We felt really special! There are so many Italian spots in Chicago, but Siena Tavern caught my eye with its squid ink linguini. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the sauce was creamy and delicious but not too heavy. The lobster made the dish extra scrumptious. I added pepper flakes to my pasta -- game changer! All the other pasta dishes looked delicious too. For apps, I had to get the Coccoli, which has these flakey, buttery, pillowy dough balls (reminds me of a croissant) with stracchino cheese, prosciutto, dollops of pesto, and truffle honey. I have never had anything like this before, and it was SOO good. I would come back just for this. The sticky parm potatoes on the side were very yum. Dessert also required some tough decision-making because everything sounded amazing. We got the tiramisu profiteroles and the s'mores gelato. I liked how they used dark chocolate, and everything was perfectly sweet. Highly recommend! The staff was really nice, and the service was great! I was blown away by the Squid Ink Linguine. I have never had Squid ink pasta before and this was delicious! and their Rigatoni Alla Vodka was very tasty. We made reservations for a Thursday night when we landed in Chicago. Good thing we did because the restaurant was packed! It is also very dar FOOD Let's just say I'm still dreaming of the truffle gnocchi (6/5)!!! The gnocchi was so soft and fluffy, the truffle sauce was absolutely delicious. It was quite rich so even though it didn't look super saucy, i felt like it was enough to balance the gnocchi. I found myself scraping every bit of my plate. Truffle risotto (5/5) with truffle shavings (4/5) - i thought the risotto already had a strong truffle flavor, my bf opted to add the truffle shavings but at this point i felt like I couldn't taste the shavings. I'd say it wasn't worth the $$ but he would tell you it is. This dish was super flavorful and creamy. For both of the dishes, i thought id be disappointed that there was no protein but the flavors distracted me from protein anyway. DRINKS I don't remember which drinks we got but it doesn't matter, both were very strong and all i tasted was tequila! Hahah! The bartender was very heavy handed.
