This was my second time visiting Sierra Grill. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered to go. I ordered a steak Mexican pizza. It was basically steak nachos. The steak was flavorful and tender and the toppings, lettuce and tomato, were fresh. There was also a small container of sour cream. I grabbed a couple of different salsas from the salsa bar while I waited. The salsa bar is included with all purchases. I also ordered a small guacamole that came with chips. The guac was tasty. Who knew that there was a place that does a "Mexican pizza"? I found them on an app and saw this option so I had to try it. Definitely not like the more well-known one but it is a very sizable and more healthy pizza. It's a flour tortilla and grilled diced chicken for the protein, melted cheese, green onions, diced lettuce, tomatoes, added cilantro and white onions and a side of sour cream. When I received the package the pizza was wrapped in aluminum foil and it was nice and warm still. It was a lot to eat but I was able to do it and it was delicious. I got take out the southwest salad in a bowl and the chicken is moist with mozzarella cheese, rice, black beans, and bbq and southwest ranch. This combo of ranch and bbq is a party that I can't wait for it. It is a medley that goes perfectly with this burrito bowl that my taste buds get excited before I can eat another bite. These are your friends and neighbors with their whole worlds invested in a brand they love and believe in. Sierra Grille Atlantic Beach is one that I love and believe in too. Located right over the ditch on Atlantic in the LA FITNESS plaza. Though slightly obstructed right from the road the beautiful seascape mural by Ansley Randall @ansleyrandall_art_4_sale stands boldly out to guide you in to the surf for fast fresh Southwest. The dining room is open and spacious so guests can spread out if looking for a little privacy. It's counter service and Lexi was super cool and friendly and very helpful when ordering. I've followed their IG for over a year and know they religiously post weekly and/or daily specials. Specials are random and not assigned certain days. I was lured in by Iron Maiden's Run To The Hills clip on their IG Specials post. The Jaguar Burrito jumped right out and sunk its claws into me. Grilled chicken, black beans, rice, blended cheese, guacamole, Pico de Gallo, jalapeños, ranch and served with chips and their Salsa Bar. Since it was Tuesday I had to order a few tacos so I got one steak and one shrimp both on lightly grilled soft flour tortillas. I loaded up at the Salsa Bar with Roja, Verde, Roasted Pepper, and regular salsa. They also offered a pineapple , onion and cilantro , and sliced jalapeños. I must have looked like a one man construction site dipping and swiveling and dunking and spreading while biting and crunching and sipping . The Jaguar, as you can see by the pics was a Big Cat all deliciously arranged and held together by a grilled tortilla. The shrimp taco was excellent with large fresh grilled shrimp that weren't fishy at all. The steak taco smacked of tender lean charbroiled steak. I did notice a Ginger Chicken Burrito on the menu with a Curry Ginger Sauce that I had to try. I pleaded with Lexi for a taste and she cheerfully brought me a sample with a small side of grilled chicken, a nice touch to show she really wanted me to enjoy it, and I did. So I definitely know what I'm getting next time. The vibe is very laid back beachy . The music is groovy and as I finished just before the dinner rush people slowly filled the dining room as I left, a great sign. Local franchisees work as hard as any of us to keep their employees paid and the lights on. Sierra Grille is a hidden gem! I've lived in Jacksonville for many years and just recently discovered this restaurant! It's nestled in the heart of Atlantic Beach. There's abundant parking and easy to access. The staff are all very welcoming, helpful and friendly. They were happy to answer all of my questions and give great recommendations. The inside is well keep and on trend. It's more of a tropical mixed with industrial theme. My fiancé and I ordered quesadillas which were cooked to perfection. Beef tacos- basic, but good Surf and turf burrito- ok, but salty Surf and turf bowl- I can confirm the shrimp are what we're salty- super salty. To the point where I threw them away. Steak was ok, small chunks- not great flavor. Bowl needed more lettuce too- there was barely any. Presentation was good- even for takeout. Plain nachos are not good- opposite of the shrimp they were not salty at all. Seemed stale. Was pleasantly surprised with my visit to the new Sierra Grille in AB (located where the old Jumpin Jax used to be). I hadn't been to a Sierra Grille in years but decided to give it another go, and so glad I did! The girls at the registers were super sweet and helpful making suggestions. Sierra Grille! I came here for the Yelp event for a free quesadilla but of course had to try some things off the menu there as well. For the Yelp event I received a free cuban quesadilla. I thought it was good but found it interesting they used bread and butter pickles instead of dill. No hate here, I love bread and butter! Just a little different. My boyfriend got the grilled chicken burrito and we thought it tasted fresh and yummy. We did miss the rice and beans in it, but overall it had flavor and that fresh bite really was the winner there. Their salsa bar is also great. It's nice to be able to get different varieties of salsa without having to get us and ask. We thought everything at Sierra grille tastes fresh and delicious. Sierra Grille AB is one of many TexMex options available in Jacksonville. This location used to be Jumpin' JAX. I've been to Sierra Grille a few time and it's not bad but I always am a little underwhelmed. Chips: These come for free with most meals and they always disappoint me. They lack any kind of flavor at all. The good news is that they have a salsa/toppings bar which help to offset the blandness of their chips. If you're ordering delivery though this isn't an option (that I'm aware of...) Burritos as Bowls: I love a BIG chipotle bowl. I've ordered their Fajita Burrita and Chicken burritos as bowls and was disappointed by both. I find the portions to be small for the price and lacking in the staples you'd expect to find like beans and rice. The best thing that I've had from Sierra Grille is their nachos with a protein on top. I think they had pulled pork as an option when we went. Loving the variety on the menu compared to other locations (or maybe I just never noticed?). We got the chicken Mexican pizza and the ginger chicken bowl - both pretty good. For the ginger bowl, it was a little too saucy and cheesy for me - so personally, I'd ask them to go light on the cheese and put the sauce on the side. Loved the flavors though. Took full advantage of the salsa bar-- try the pineapple salsa it's my fave. There's a few tables outside, and the interior is such a clean, fresh and inviting space. We walked in and ordered at the counter to order and their is was. They still got it, The Surf and Turf Burrito that had been my go to. The Surf and Turf Burrito comes loaded with Steak & shrimp, blended cheese, lettuce, tomato and ranch. Now I know what you're thinking. "Ranch in a burrito? But let me tell you it works. It also comes with Chips and they have a full Salsa Bar as well as all the fixings one would need to load up your burrito or whatever else dish you get. Chipotle, take some notes here and get your $hit together. The Rojo was my favorite of the salsas as well. It is loaded with flavor and has good spice. Now The Surf and Turf is a good sized burrito for sure and come on, where else can you get a burrito with steak and well seasoned shrimp. It's flavorful bite after flavorful bite. Pros: the girl up front was really sweet. Con's: this place is disgustingly dirty. And the food sucked. Took one bite of the shrimp taco and spit it out. My Son took a couple of bites of his burrito and said it was horrible. The coke machine is dirty and well rusted. The lemons and limes looked like they were left over from A few days. We came in just just after 11am, they definitely were not fresh. The containers they were in were really dirty and had not been wiped down in at least a few days if not a week. For me, it's the perfect combo. I'm not sure if adding pickles to the quesadilla is the norm here or if it was in honor of pickle week, but it should be the norm. Should have ordered online in advance. Went in about 645pm. Ordered a grilled shrimp bowl. Girl at register asked if I wanted rice. Said yes-doesn't rice normally come with a bowl? She says Oh yes thats right its a bowl so yes. Great. Also ordered nachos for husband. Waited. And waited. People came in after us. 2 groups. They ordered. They all got their food. Still waiting. Asked the girl at register. She says kitchen is backed up. Hard to believe but ok. More food goes out. I then ask if those were my nachos sitting under the heat lamp. Yep. Asked why my shrimp order was taking so long. Should I order something else quicker. Was told no. We cook the orders as they come in. That is when I said " If thats the case my order should have been done 20 mins ago". Finally received order 30 mins after placing it based on the time stamp on my receipt. No rice at all. And 2 shrimp were RAW. I have always had good food and good service except tonight. I will be calling tomo to tell the store manager. Tried this place out through Yelp Elite Week and I would say it's delicious. Some might compare it to Chipotle, Moes, etc., but I truly think it's definitely different. Attended the Yelp event this evening. The Cuban quesadilla was the perfect size. My husband ordered the sirloin burrito and queso dip. We shared our food and the burrito was as good as the quesadilla. I'm pretty picky about queso and this was very good and so were the chips. I also enjoyed the salsa bar. I had the house, roasted and rojo. The rojo was really good because it had a kick. We will definitely return to try some of the other menu items. read more
