I like that this place has a lot of seating and kiosk to order. They have a lot of specialty drinks, the most I've seen in comparison to other cafes here. I got a hazelnut coffee and I didn't wait that long. I love everything hazelnut and the drink was satisfactory. It was good in that it didn't taste burnt and it didn't taste like syrup was just carelessly dumped in the drink to achieve the hazelnut flavor. I think this is a place I would recommend to those seeking coffee but with that 'something else'. Overall, it was not disappointing and I can foresee myself coming back to satisfy the itch of 'coffee but with a little bit more'.

Asked for the staff's recommendation and tried the ice vanilla coconut latte. Loved it and will be coming back to try other items on the menu

Gave up going to this place cause I couldn't find parking on a couple occasions. Damn you Clement St!!! Finally got to try because we had a 30 minute wait for Lokma. Cappucino: 5/5 smooth roasted coffee flavor; exactly what I wanted Lavender latte: 4.5/5 subtle floral flavor balanced perfect with their coffee. Solid. Ambience is just OK. There's really not much to the inside. It would be nice if there's a little more lighting on the inside. Plenty of space to sit though. Service was great all smiles when we walked in. Overall very kind staff.

Great little coffee shop. I ordered the sea salt carmel latte. It was not too sweet, which was nice. I also purchased a bag of coffee beans that I had them grind specifically for a Keurig machine. It also comes with a free drip coffee upon purchase. Street parking was easy to find. There's also a cute nursery a block away that I stopped into on the way back to my car.

5 star coffee. Hands down the best latte I've had in a very long time. The flavor of their coffee shines through and isn't buried by syrups or milk. Perfect ratio of espresso and sugar. Seriously sunshine in a cup, on a cloudy SF day. Too crowded for me to sit inside and enjoy. Maybe next time!

Was in the area to hit the gym and stumbled across this cute cafe. Minimal furnishings, solid menu w/ well crafted drinks, and friendly staff makes it worth coming back for another visit. Holy cow was my favorite, it's a must try if you're here on a cafe hop.

Since I haven't been here in a while, I decided to stop by during lunch to see what was new. Listed on the seasonal menu was the Brainwash Latte "Mushroom Latte" ($7.75). I wasn't looking to get brainwashed, but the name was so interesting that it caught my eye. The friendly barista/cashier described it as a hot chocolate with espresso, except with a woody flavor. I ordered the hot version with whole milk to-go. She told me if I didn't like it she could make me something else. +Drinkable temperature: Hot, but doesn't burn your mouth/tongue +Unlike previous visits, presentation was beautiful for my to-go order. -As someone who usually gets reduced sweetness, I wished it was sweeter. It reminded me of a very bitter mocha. -Even though the description included marzipan and nutmeg, it wasn't noticeable. *Verdict: Prices are on the higher end, but the creative drinks and friendly service make this a haven for coffee and tea lovers alike!

Smooth, good tasting coffee. Cute shop. Didn't get any food but they offered a lot of coffee choices and food.

The drinks at Home Coffee are always tasty, and depending on your barista you could get the cutest latte art ever. Apart from the standard offerings in their pastry case, they also offer toasts with various toppings to provide more substantive sustenance. There's always plenty of space to sit and chat with a friend or work (with free WiFi!). The only qualm I have is that I run cold and the place never seems to have the heater running. For a location in the foggy Outer Richmond district, a warm and cozy cafe would be much more inviting than one that is pretty much the same temperature inside as it is outside.

Home Coffee is consistent with all their locations. This one is walking distance from me and is a good spot to get work done. Coffee is good across the board, there are seats available and wifi available. Grab a bite and a drink here! It's so fun when the sun is out and you want to just hang out or get work done. Order at the kiosk or at the counter. Staff is always so warm and welcoming!

Nice coffee shop. The americano here is very good, the coffee doesn't taste super bitter or burnt. My friend enjoyed her salted caramel latte & avocado toast. Bummed that they were out of tea when we came in. Parking was also such a hassle.

Visited on a Friday morning around 9 AM with some friends after having this spot on my list for a while. It wasn't busy--just a few people around and no line. They have a self-ordering station in addition to a cashier, which seems like it would be really useful during peak hours. I ordered the iced coconut vanilla latte. The coconut flavor was nicely balanced and didn't overpower the vanilla. I chose this drink because it included two shots of espresso, but it was still a bit too milky for my taste, so I didn't get to appreciate the coffee flavor as much as I'd hoped. Overall, I'd revisit and try other drinks. The spot has several tables and complimentary wifi, making it a great spot to work remotely as well.

    LET'S AVO-CUDDLE

I was so eager to get to Home Coffee Roasters and order Let's Avo-Cuddle Toast and an Earl Grey Latte with soy for my brunch that I forgot to bring my reusable bag. They sell a reusable bag which I purchased for my outings while here in the city. I liked the artwork on the bag, but what made me appreciate the bag even more upon receiving it from the young lady who went to the back for it was the discovery that it was a Baggu known for their durability and ability to carry 50 lbs. I looked into the case with the baked goods and had to order a banana tea cake, too. Daughter who was with me ordered the seasonal pandan matcha latte, the Seoul Much Avo toast, and the ginger pull apart. Unfortunately, the additional eggs for the avocado toasts were sold out. Even though the young lady who had greeted us upon entering said that she would be with us shortly, ordering at the kiosk was easy. There's always people enjoying their coffee and pastries at Home Coffee Roasters at the available tables and counter space. Our hot drinks came out first. I loved the latte art on the pandan matcha. What I like about the drinks are they are not overly sweet. It's just a hint of sweetness. Daughter could taste the coconut syrup in her pandan matcha latte. The toasts were out soon after the drinks packed in containers in a brown paper bag with a handle. The avocado was thick on the avocado toast. Daughter wanted the arugula on my avocado toast for her Seoul Much Avo. There were a lot of sesame seeds on the Seoul Much Avo. The avocado toast was different with spicy kimchi as a topping and good. The banana tea cake was very soft. I added a dark pistachio chocolate to it. I would enjoy hot chocolate with this tea cake. I noticed a toast along the lines of cinnamon toast that I would like to order next time. I'm sure that we will be back for drinks and food before this trip is over.

    Is there outdoor seating?

    There is no outdoor seating

Do they have wall outlets for charging devices?

There are some along the wall bench seating, but not at every table.

Can you get the birthday cake latte or a vanilla latte sugar free?

Yes! I actually was nervous about how sweet the Bday Cake latte was gonna be so they adjusted the sugar level for me. So I'm sure there's that option if you don't want any sugar at all.

Is it possible to order any of the latte's with a nut milk or soy milk, instead? Also, are there vegan options on the menu?

Yes, they have oat milk (delicious) and soy milk! Not sure about vegan food, but I think there may be a vegan pastry option. They have a lot of avocado toast options as well.

    Do they allow dogs?

Thanks for your question! Unfortunately, we are not dog friendly - with the exception of service dogs. We love dogs at Home but because we serve food, we have to adhere to the health code guidelines.

Do they carry the mochi donuts during the week as well?

Yes!! Mochi donuts are available all week :)

Is it open today, Labor Day?

We’re open today from 8AM-5PM. Come on in! :)

I saw a sign that says no laptops, but a recent review said she saw a ton of people working...Soooo...laptop friendly or no? Thanks!

You are allowed to use your laptop but it is kind of discouraged. There are signs on the tables encouraging you to talk to the people with you rather than use your phone/computer.

What goes in the Birthday cake Latte (milk, espresso, IK, but what flavor syrups)? Vanilla.... Hazelnut?

I believe it's vanilla! The menu says that it's a rainbow vanilla latte

Do you have gluten free bread for the toast?

    Not any more

I have gone to Blackbird a handful of times and have enjoyed the experience each time. Blackbird is primarily a bookstore, but they do have an outdoor window where you can order drinks ranging from matcha (Rocky's Matcha, if you're curious about which brand they use), lattes, and tea. They also carry a good amount of pastries (even mid-day, they have a lot of goodies), which I really appreciated. When you order your drink, you have to enter inside the bookstore to wait for your drink to be called, but you can take the time to stroll around and look at their book selection and trinkets. Heads up: the seating here is limited but very lovely. Inside, there are a couple of community tables, but their outdoor area is absolutely magical, with lush greenery and benches for you to enjoy your drinks. This time around, I got one of their seasonal drinks, a honey lavender vanilla latte, and I paired it with an Earl Grey olive oil loaf. The portion of the pastry was generous and moist, while the icing was not too sweet. Overall, a great pick for a cafe if you're in the area.

Olive oil spelt cake: It reminds me of pound cake. Not that sweet except the frosting/icing. It was okay but as someone who's not as fond of that kind of cakey texture, I'd probably not get it again. They have a really lovely garden and patio in the back. There is also a bathroom. The acoustics and set up for events isn't great, though. It was hard for me to concentrate on the speaker for the book talk since you can hear the noises from the cafe behind and also the sounds of other store customers all around you. That was the only downside, but I think it's a very charming bookstore otherwise.
