I took my dog here on Saturday 04/04 as it was an emergency because she was coughing all morning. They gave her an x-ray and explained what was going on. Gave her some antibiotics and Furosemide. Sent me off with 3 other medications to start the next day. Unfortunately, when I got home she got worse. I took her straight to an emergency pet hospital where she sadly passed away. I understand that something could have been missed and with her condition and age anything could have happen. I called them the next day and let them know what happened. I kindly asked if they could at least refund me for the 3 medications I was not able to use, since my new vet bill was going to extremely higher. They refused and said there is nothing they can do. HOSTAGE TACTICS: Withholding medical records and price-gouging meds! This clinic is unethical, unprofessional, and possibly violating veterinary regulations. First, their medication prices are exorbitant. When I tried to order my pet's prescription from a reputable online pharmacy to save money, they ghosted the request to force me to buy from them. But it gets worse. I have decided to switch clinics, but they are now effectively holding my pet's health history hostage. I paid for TWO X-rays at this facility, and despite multiple requests, they refuse to email me the records. Even when my NEW vet clinic contacted them directly to request the files for continuity of care, they ignored them too! I am extremely disappointed with the care my dog received at this hospital. My dog's cheek was swollen to the size of a golf ball when I brought him in. I expected him to receive antibiotics and medication to treat the underlying problem. Instead, the two medications that were prescribed were both for pain management. They did nothing to treat the actual cause of the swelling. The swelling did not improve at all, so I had to take him to an emergency hospital on Saturday. They performed X-rays and an examination, which cost me around $700. After that, they told me he needed surgery and asked me to schedule it. I specifically requested that they first try aggressive medical treatment with anti-inflammatory and other appropriate medications to see if surgery could be avoided. My dog had the exact same problem last year, and a different veterinarian treated him with an injection and medication. Within one week, he had completely recovered. I even showed this hospital the records of the injection and medications that successfully treated him last year, but they still chose to prescribe a completely different medication. After confirming that my dog's teeth showed no signs of dental disease, I expected treatment to focus on the inflammation affecting his jaw, salivary gland, or the actual source of the swelling. Instead, the medication prescribed is known to be effective for dental and gum infections, not necessarily for the condition my dog is experiencing. If my dog's condition does not improve again, I will be taking him to another veterinarian in a few days. I will let you know how quickly he improves after receiving treatment there. From my experience, this hospital feels more focused on charging for additional tests than providing appropriate treatment. It feels like if you don't agree to expensive diagnostic testing, you are simply given pain medication instead of treatment aimed at resolving the underlying problem. Let me ask one question. If an animal is in critical condition and close to dying, is it more important to perform blood tests and X-rays before doing anything, or should an experienced veterinarian first provide emergency treatment to stabilize the patient based on their clinical judgment? I own and operate an automotive repair shop. When I hear an unusual noise from a vehicle, I can usually identify the most likely cause immediately and confirm it by inspecting the suspected area. I don't waste my customer's time and money inspecting unrelated components first. To me, this experience felt like trying to diagnose a car with no engine oil by simply leaving the engine running and performing only a visual inspection--it doesn't address the real problem. I am not against diagnostic testing. Necessary tests are important. However, I believe the patient's symptoms, medical history, and previous successful treatment should have been taken into consideration before recommending expensive procedures or surgery. They can't even manage to attach a simple PDF or Word document. Found a place close to home for mom's dog who had some issues after the holidays. Extremely warm staff very welcoming and inviting. They have same day appointments and were very open about estimate and what they would be looking at. They answered all our questions and once diagnosed explained the labs and results very thoroughly. Dr. Money. That's what I would call the veterinarian who treated my dog. But that's only half the story. His last name should be Negligence. My dog was prescribed antibiotics to treat what was clearly an allergy issue. Instead of improving, he continued to get worse. When I called to ask why antibiotics had been prescribed instead of allergy medication, the staff member who answered told me that the doctor had "felt" my dog had an infection. The problem is that the doctor didnt actually examined my dog. His staff seems mor interested in protecting him than caring for animals, not treating them like gold mines. I was told the doctor would call me personally to explain the treatment plan. That call never came. In fact, neither he nor anyone else from the office ever followed up. I'm sure they will respond to this review with excuses and explanations, but that's not necessary. What matters to me is that my dog is now doing well under the care of another clinic and for a fraction of the cost. WAATCH OUT: If they ask you to leave your pet for a "test", dont do it, this is their money maker procedure. They charge you a lot for that innessesary excuse. Everything at this clinic is extremely expensive, and in my experience, many of the recommended procedures appeared unnecessary. My 12years old female Yorkie mix named "Kcombee" stop eating for 2 days and only drinking water for several hours before checked in(11/07/2023, Tue 12:30 afternoon) at Silicon Valley Pet Clinic (3100 El Camino Real Santa Clara CA) Kcombee even walked around waiting room floor (25 minute waiting) so I can tell she is not a near death condition. Dr. took Kcombee to inside for checking and I had to stay at waiting room. about 20 minute later Dr. came out and talked to me (with X-ray) what to do along with next appointment 7 dayes later but nurse signaled to Dr. and I followed to inside room and noticed that Kcombee died and not breathing at all. This clinic claims that they can treat small, exotic pets, such as bunnies. However, the vet displayed hesitation when I brought in my bunny, could not come to a diagnosis regarding her condition (she was sniffling), despite looking at her x-ray, and sent me home with no care instructions other than to cage her for a week while feeding her medications (azithromycin and furosemide, a diuretic). The receptionist even admitted that my bunny was the first she'd seen at the clinic. Less than a week later, after receiving no follow up call that was promised, my bunny began to spasm and died in my arms. I had no time to even book a specialist to review her x-rays, as, according to a vet at MetVet in Mountain View that I took her to after she passed, bunnies are incredibly fragile creatures that require specific, long-term medical treatment. He told me, based on a look at the x-rays, that she likely had pneumonia. When expressing my concerns to the Silicon Valley vet via email, he expressed no sympathy whatsoever, offered a partial refund but for WEEKS has not sent over the medical records I continue to request for my pet. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!! They have their prices posted at the front desk and again in the exam rooms -- yet the prices are different. That immediately raises concerns about transparency. The doctor came in, performed a brief exam on my pet, then simply said, "Let me get an estimate," without explaining what he believed might be wrong or what was going on. There was no discussion -- just a focus on presenting costs. We then waited two hours for an X-ray. When I politely asked how much longer it would be, the receptionist responded with attitude, saying they were waiting on the X-ray report. I informed her that about 45 minutes earlier, another staff member had told me the report was already in and that the doctor would be in shortly. At that point, the receptionist raised her voice and asked, "Who told you that?" She then claimed they had sent the X-ray out, which was why it was taking so long. I asked if there would be an additional charge for sending it out, and she replied, "Umm, I don't think so." After another 15 minutes, the doctor finally came in and said he did not see anything on the X-ray, but that if we wanted, he could send it out to a radiologist for review -- for an additional charge. So naturally I asked, "Wait, hasn't it already been sent out?" The doctor responded no. The communication was inconsistent, the pricing unclear, and the customer service extremely unprofessional. If you don't know how to handle a cat, just say that and don't allow people with cats to schedule an appointment. If you have cats, please know they have no idea how to handle a nervous cat and you'll have a nightmare experience. Despite being nervous, My cat has had no issue with any other vet, procedure, or shot. The doctor acted like he was terrified of her even after putting a muzzle over her head and then leaving it on her while he left the room for extended periods of time repeatedly. She was unable to see with a muzzle on for at least 45 minutes, obviously making her even more stressed. He would come in, try to look at her paw, get uncomfortable, leave, send in his assistant to try to put something else on her, then come back again later. This process would be unbelievably stressful for an animal stuck in a muzzle and unable to see anything. I had to calm her back down again every time he left and stop her from falling off the table. We were at the groomers the day before and they were professional and had zero issues dealing with her, despite her being scared, so why is an actual veterinarian flinching every time my cat moved? We were there over two hours just to have her paw looked at. I considered leaving multiple times but she needed antibiotics ointment and I knew she would be traumatized from this experience already and didn't want to take her out again. Also, they wanted me to pay for testing, which I declined because I didn't feel it was necessary. After reading other reviews I'm glad I didn't. After I declined, I got a copy of the bill showing they were going to test her for ringworm for some reason? $250 in addition to the $250 test that was actually relevant to her appointment. Why add on extra without telling me unless you're just trying to scam people? This place is horrific and my cat is traumatized. I regret not walking out sooner. read more

I brought my dog in for a checkup. The first doctor required a different set of exams than the second doctor. My dog was very sick, but they sent him home without any medication or treatment. I asked for a painkiller, but they didn't provide one. It's been three days, and my dog is still in pain--I'm afraid he's going to die. How many examinations are actually needed? This place just wants your money by making you do dozens of tests, only to tell you there's no cure. Avoid this place if you want your dog to survive. read more

PLEASE READ‼‼ I have NEVER been more SERIOUS. Do NOT come here expecting quality care or professionalism, and DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY‼ Dr. Gahra has repeatedly shown negligence and carelessness -- and dare I say, potential medical malpractice. My dog visited for what seemed like minor nasal itchiness at first, but with symptoms that had worsened over a few weeks to the point of major concern. Dr. Gahra did X-rays and a rhinoscopy, both of which he DIRECTLY told me showed nothing abnormal. He said he found "sand in her nose" (which made zero sense -- she hadn't been near sand in months), claimed to flush it out, gave her an injection, and sent her home with meds. Without doing what he should have to properly diagnose her. A week later, I came for a follow-up, as any caring pet parent would.. He took her to the back (I wasn't present, so idk if he even looked), said she was fine, and sent her off again. I finished her meds (including steroids ), and the day after, she suddenly stopped eating -- for 48 hours, which had NEVER happened before. When she didn't eat dinner on 11/4/25 or breakfast the next day, I called. Dr. Damian (& separately-- thank you you're awesome) said this wasn't a normal reaction but could be an upset stomach. Told me to monitor her closely & come back if it persists. She ate that night, luckily, BUT... on 11/6/25, her original symptoms came back. AND WORSE -- clear pain/discomfort, scratching, severely swollen nostrils... Went to a different vet immediately for a 2nd opinion. He reviewed her prior imaging and -- within seconds -- pointed out a clear hyperintensity in one nostril that even I could see. Oh, & notes on the rhinoscopy? ZERO mention of "sand," ZERO documentation -- just "redness" . New vet explained that while AI - YES, AI - said "no abnormality," the actual images clearly showed cause for concern. (Don't think I need to point out why that's alarming..). We redid both the X-ray and rhinoscopy (meaning she had to be sedated for both again, awesome ), & this time, found something CLEARLY abnormal in her nasal passages -- possibly tissue-related, infectious, fungal, parasitic, congenital, or autoimmune. We still don't know yet -- awaiting bloodwork -- but next steps might include a CT scan (up to $5k ), endoscopy, biopsy, or all of the above. May even need surgery after that. Lol and btw, upon confronting the first clinic, SILICON VALLEY, Dr. Gahra literally denied ever mentioning "sand." As if I'd just imagine that or forget a statement like that?! BUT HERE IS WHERE IT GETS CRAZY, SO LISTEN‼ -- new vet ran bloodwork (another thing Dr. G failed to even consider??) and found my dog tested positive for anaplasma, TWICE, so it wasn't a false positive . Anaplasmosis, mind you, is a tick-borne bacterial infection that affects the blood and organs, for which symptoms (& A MAIN ONE IS LOSS OF APPETITE) show 1-2 weeks post-infection. Lol so let's look at the timeline: first visit at Silicon Valley Pet Clinic was 10/21/25, where she received an injection... first appetite loss of her LIFE came on 11/4/25 -- exactly 14 days later... Now, you can connect the dots however you want, but I can't ignore the timing. Sure, ticks can be present anywhere... but a tick bite would've been HIGHLY unlikely considering we hadn't been anywhere near areas of tick concern in recent weeks/even months... This may sound indicative of a huge and egregious accusation.... but tbh, the circumstances & timeline speak for themselves.. & Thankfully, her liver results look okay so far, but anaplasmosis can lead to ORGAN FAILURE, GUYS. So, PLEASE, if you care about your pets, PLEASE STAY AWAY from this clinic. What my poor dog and I experienced was a beyond DANGEROUS demonstration of negligence, even if we put the anaplasma thing aside or call it crazy or paranoid. On top of that... the lack of accountability, false statements, and disregard for documentation are beyond unacceptable... AND DON'T. SAY. I DIDN'T. WARN YOU. RUN. THIS. IS NOT A. JOKE. My 91 yr old father was taken advantage of. His dog needed teeth pulled and the surgery was 3,000.00 The surgery went well but the care to flush her wound daily was not something he could do. They charged him 25.00 a day for 4 days to do it for him. I would have thought that it would be included in the price of the surgery. On her 2nd day they left the muzzle on her as my father left the apt. The next day on her 3rd visit I asked them about the muzzle and they said oops we should have taken that off sorry. That day they saw that her tube was no longer there and asked if we took her cone off? We said no, and that the tube probably was ripped out from the muzzle that was left on her. Fast forward to her final visit and they said she looks great but they want her on antibiotics for 7 more days... we bought them but when we got home we noticed they had already sold them to my dad 5 days earlier. I took my cat in who had a sprained ankle. Ashley was super helpful and kind. She was easy to talk to, compassionate, and gentle with my cat which is super important to me. She went out of her way to help me and I'm driving from an hour away - I would definitely return for her help! Regarding Dr. Ghara and the other doctor that work there - they could benefit from better bedside manner. They both don't seem interested in the actual animal or the human that they're seeing. If i could i would give them a 0 stars. I waited 1hr just to do a simple check up. He said it might be a fungal infection on my cat so he charged 600 for a test and said he'll email and call us within a few days. A week later we call back saying whats the results they said the doctor left he'll call back it's like 5pm bruh they close at 8. Then next day i call again for results and they said he'll be in 1-5pm he'll call back and he never called. Called for a third time and no answer. Finally got the results through EMAIL not call, but took a week for no call and it was hard even getting a call back. Never coming back ever again and i suggest you guys don't either. Helped my dog, who had ingested a lot of chocolate. Gave quick and effective care and kept on eye on her until she was well enough to go home. A third of the cost of the chain my vet had suggested. read more
