I am extremely disappointed with the care my dog received at this hospital. My dog's cheek was swollen to the size of a golf ball when I brought him in. I expected him to receive antibiotics and medication to treat the underlying problem. Instead, the two medications that were prescribed were both for pain management. They did nothing to treat the actual cause of the swelling. The swelling did not improve at all, so I had to take him to an emergency hospital on Saturday. They performed X-rays and an examination, which cost me around $700. After that, they told me he needed surgery and asked me to schedule it. I specifically requested that they first try aggressive medical treatment with anti-inflammatory and other appropriate medications to see if surgery could be avoided. My dog had the exact same problem last year, and a different veterinarian treated him with an injection and medication. Within one week, he had completely recovered. I even showed this hospital the records of the injection and medications that successfully treated him last year, but they still chose to prescribe a completely different medication. After confirming that my dog's teeth showed no signs of dental disease, I expected treatment to focus on the inflammation affecting his jaw, salivary gland, or the actual source of the swelling. Instead, the medication prescribed is known to be effective for dental and gum infections, not necessarily for the condition my dog is experiencing. If my dog's condition does not improve again, I will be taking him to another veterinarian in a few days. I will let you know how quickly he improves after receiving treatment there. From my experience, this hospital feels more focused on charging for additional tests than providing appropriate treatment. It feels like if you don't agree to expensive diagnostic testing, you are simply given pain medication instead of treatment aimed at resolving the underlying problem. Let me ask one question. If an animal is in critical condition and close to dying, is it more important to perform blood tests and X-rays before doing anything, or should an experienced veterinarian first provide emergency treatment to stabilize the patient based on their clinical judgment? I own and operate an automotive repair shop. When I hear an unusual noise from a vehicle, I can usually identify the most likely cause immediately and confirm it by inspecting the suspected area. I don't waste my customer's time and money inspecting unrelated components first. To me, this experience felt like trying to diagnose a car with no engine oil by simply leaving the engine running and performing only a visual inspection--it doesn't address the real problem. I am not against diagnostic testing. Necessary tests are important. However, I believe the patient's symptoms, medical history, and previous successful treatment should have been taken into consideration before recommending expensive procedures or surgery. Overall, this experience was very disappointing.

Took my Romanian dog that I rescued while on deployment and she's currently staying at my mothers house. She got sick and we took her to this clinic to get better answers on what was going on. The staff and Dr were responsive and consistent in letting my mom know what was going on. She had to stay for overnight testing and all together the price was very reasonable. She went home happier than she came in with meds to get her through the sickness. Wanted to thank the staff and DR. In being so patient with my family and with my baby girl Pookie . God bless you all for the work you do.

My cat wasn't peeing, so my dad had to take him in for an emergency check-up. I was nervous at first because of some of the negative reviews, but I can confidently say this clinic completely eased my worries. The nurses and doctor were incredibly kind and caring and they took such great care of my cat, Toru! The doctor explained his urinary issue in detail and made sure we understood everything. Every time I called with a question, the receptionist was super sweet and helpful. My cat wasn't anxious at all during his stay - he was calm, well-behaved, and clearly comfortable, which showed me how well he was treated. I was nervous about leaving him overnight, but seeing him the next day so relaxed and happy around the staff made me feel so relieved. You can absolutely trust this clinic to treat your pets with genuine care and compassion!

This is how they send your pets medical records. Pure genius

WORST VETERINARY EXPERIENCE IMAGINABLE! RUN AWAY! If you want the worst service and veterinary care you have ever come across, you've stopped at the right location: Silicon Valley Pet Clinic. This place is an absolute failure from the front desk to the examination room, and you owe it to your pet to literally go anywhere else. My appointment was a joke. I was forced to wait 45 minutes past my scheduled time before the doctor even bothered to step in. And for what? He vanished two minutes later, only to send in a nurse with "Nothing could be done." A total waste of time and money, and an insult to the very concept of medical care. The records debacle was the final, straw. After requesting my dog's medical records three separate times, I was made to wait a staggering five days to receive them (originally quoted 2-3 days). And when they finally arrived? They sent the document as raw, unreadable HTML text. Seriously? It's 2025. This incompetence shows a complete lack of basic office education. They can't even manage to attach a simple PDF or Word document. I promptly found a competent vet (far away from SVPC who saw me on the spot, provided a full treatment plan in under an hour, and has followed up with me three times since my visit. That is what actual patient care looks like. DO NOT GO TO SILICON VALLEY PET CLINIC. They lack professionalism, basic technical skills, and any semblance of respect for your time or your pet's health. Go literally anywhere else.

Found a place close to home for mom's dog who had some issues after the holidays. Extremely warm staff very welcoming and inviting. They have same day appointments and were very open about estimate and what they would be looking at. They answered all our questions and once diagnosed explained the labs and results very thoroughly. The doctor is very knowledgeable and explained treatment which included holistic wellbeing approach. This was an unplanned visit but she just found her new local vet! Everything is very clean and her fur baby is a happy healthy little camper! Thank you Silicon Valley Pet Clinic! Highly recommended!

Dr. Gahra is amazing, absolutely amazing! My senior dog has a grade 5/6 heart murmur and is in congestive heart failure and developed an infected molar that eventually started piercing through his cheek. I knew the risk of putting my poor baby under anesthesia, and he was at the point where he was suffering now. Dr. Gahra included me in the process every step of the way, and went WAY beyond what any veterinarian would do in order to save my baby's life. Not only did Dr. Gahra provide exceptional care and prioritize my pet's safety during a very high-risk procedure, but he also showed incredible bedside manner toward me as the owner. It meant the world to know that both my dog and I were being looked after with such compassion. My baby is home with me and recovering well and I am so grateful for every extra day Dr. Gahra has given me with him

Rest in peace to my beautiful puppies.

How much for 1st exam for my Dog? He just needs a new prescription for Heartworm.

Hi jessica. Our exam fees are $55. And for heart-worm prescription your dog needs to get tested for heart worm which will be $45. Your visit will be around $120.

What are the prices for DPP and bordetella? I feel like I might have to give them my arm and leg just to pay from what Ive seen reviews of.

As a new client we require an exam before administering any treatment, and if you schedule ahead of time the exam fee is only $55. Current pricing for the DHPP and Bordetella vaccines are $30 each.

Do you have tiny puppies for adoption?

We do not offer any pets for adoption.

Does the clinic charge a fee for follow up visits? For vaccination appointments, is there a tech or office visit fee?

Yes ,there is fees for recheck or follow up visits. For vaccinations, if exam is current ( with one year ) and pet not having any underlying issue to be discussed with doc,…

The first year with my golden retriever, Luka, was extremely hard. He was a mouthy dog who had zero boundaries at home or outside. He would get excited or frustrated and grab/bite onto my shoes or clothes daily. Walking him became an impossible task because he was extremely dog-reactive, and he dragged me a couple of times while trying to chase another dog. Walking him also became a two-person job, with someone always on the lookout for other dogs so we could turn the other way. He also began to resource guard and snapped at my dad twice.. I had already spent thousands on another trainer and didn't have much success. I began to feel like this was just what life with Luka would be like forever. It got to the point where I felt scared of him, and the life I was giving him out of that fear wasn't fair to him. So I decided to try and get help one last time. I found Lori's page and after reading the reviews I became hopeful again. I took Luka in for an evaluation, and Lori recommended their board-and-train program. I can't thank Chelsea and Lori enough for everything they've done. I've learned so much about Luka, how to manage different situations, and how to better understand his behavior. We had training lessons throughout his board-and-train stay and afterward, because we are the ones who need most of the training! Chelsea did an amazing job with Luka. At home, Luka is unrecognizable in the best way. We can actually go on adventures outside without being terrified that we won't be able to handle him. Those who knew Luka before his stay and see him now always comment on how well he is doing. I cannot recommend Lori Hamilton's Dog training enough to anyone who feels like they've tried everything and is feeling discouraged. I am so thankful because it finally feels like Luka and I can start living life and enjoying everything around us.

He was an anxious, leash pulling, cat chasing, chewing, biting and jumping-- hiding inside an adorable shell. We started in Lori's group class, then did private one on one training with her and ultimately 4 weeks of board and train at her facility. She trained us and trained him and ultimately transformed life at home. Our 3 cats are now able to be in the same room as him. Our visitors no longer have him standing up on their chest in exuberant greeting. We can relax and have dinner without Ruben trying to eat our feet or running zoomies around the room. We can walk him without having our arms ripped out of our sockets. He is calm around other dogs. He is crate trained and easily goes to sleep at night. He has his own treadmill and works out twice a day, in addition to our daily walks. We been to Pack walks with Lori and 15 other dogs, all walking obediently through the Pruneyard shopping center. The dogs get to work on socialization and good manners on these field trips. Lori came to our house and we staged a meal with a visitor. It really helped us learn how to keep him on his best behavior during meal time with a guest!!! Our first year with Ruben was really tough, he was not the mellow golden retriever we anticipated. Lori's teaching changed everything. She provided the methods and the tools to help us have the best outcome and a relaxed home life with our beautiful dog; more than we ever expected!!!
