We just ordered food from them and it was the worse experience ever. First, the food was cold. The dumplings taste like they were cooked in car oil. The yakisoba doesn't taste like it should. The vegetables are old and the king size egg rolls were not good either. I don't recommend the place and I won't eat there even if is the last place open in the city. Run away from it!!!!!. I called and they won't even refund the food. I had to trow it in the garbage. Lost the money. We only had one bite and that was it. Food is inedible. read more

We went here with our 2 boys, 10 & 8. I always rate based on how well they treat kids. We were seated immediately. The server was super attentive. We ordered 3 sushi rolls and sesame chicken. They let the boys sit up at the sushi bar to watch the rolls being made. I had the jumbo 747, my husband had the boyfriend roll, and a crunchy roll for my oldest. This is 'hands down' the best sushi restaurant in town. The sushi chefs are great and the service is excellent. Issac has a few tricks up his sleeve so be sure to sit at the sushi bar and have him work his magic. ask for something off the menu like the white tuna roll w/ garlic sauce. This place is a vast improvement over Peking Palace that was in the same location. The decor is wonderful and the sushi top notch. Our other dishes -- we had the bento box to sample a variety -- were just not as good. The tempura wasn't crispy and the chicken quite dry and salty. But we will go back for the sushi for sure. One last thing -- it was a little noisy because of all the greeting and yelling among staff across the restaurant. They're new so we figure they'll get some kinks out too. read more

We went there today based on Yelp. Ate Sushi at the bar. It was awesome. Owner isaac was great. Entertaining and really fun to be around. I had a giant beer and my girlfriend had a glass of cab. Well interior designed restaurant! The atmosphere is quite and relaxing, the menu has many dishes that are very good. Flavor is memorable.

I attended a luncheon here with a group of women. The service was ok, and the atmosphere is good. However, three of the women who had the same dish suffered from food poisening! Thank goodness they didn't have to go to the hospital, but it ruined their evening and they had to miss work the next day. And yes, they all that the same dish and it was cooked. The food was good, but service sucked. Never checked up on me and I had to flag someone down to get the bill. There menu was deceiving after I was charged more for something that said cost less. A family of 4 stood at the door for several minutes and almost left until the waiter yelled across the room to sit where ever, lol wow. I also saw the owner walk by this family and not say a word. This used to be the best place in town for sushi but recently they got some new sushi chefs that are just sloppy. The sushi tastes suuuuuuuper fishy and old. Delicious! We were surprised and a bit sad that we were the only folks in here on a Saturday night. The restaurant is relatively new - only a few months but it is clear that the owners have made an investment and want to position themselves as an elegant dining experience. The decor is beautiful and it is a much more romantic choice than some of the other sushi places in town. The staff was nice and I highly recommend both the boyfriend and girlfriend rolls. We went there for a valentines day dinner on a Thursday night around 8:30 pm . Ordered calamari as a starter. When our main plates came out we asked them about it, they say the kitchen might be closed....ok? We had two servers and finally one of them brought out an order and they were really crunchy on the outside. Also had the the teriyaki chicken and tempura shrimp dinner. Portion was good for one. We've tried a couple of rolls (Futo-maki and spicy baked snapper) and the sushi chef even created a roll for my friend who couldn't have rice on her diet. I placed an order the other night and was told it would be ready for pick up in 20 minutes. I thought it was weird the person taking my order did not ask for my name or credit card to pay for the food. I proceeded to take my time getting to the restaurant figuring they would be preparing my food at that time. I arrived 40 minutes later and my food was not ready. The sushi chefs saw me at the door waiting and said, "Oh, yeah, yeah, order for pick up...right?" I simply replied by saying yes. I waited for a solid 10 minutes before a waitress asked for me to verify my order which I did. I waited another 10 minutes before finally walking out in utter disappointment. It was obvious when I placed my order over the phone, nothing was done with it. When you take someone's order don't lie to them and tell them it will be ready in 20 minutes when in fact it will be 60 minutes+. Oh yeah....there was only two other parties of 2-4 people in the entire restaurant too...no excuse. read more

I hate to give negative reviews and usually never do, but our experience here was so egregious that I have to report it. We were bringing a large group there every month for 4 months. The service was slow, but food was usually good. The second month- they served one of our members seafood even though she specifically told them she was very allergic. She had to go to the hospital. Mistakes can happen, but they didn't apologize at all- In fact, said the staff was trained and clearly it was her fault. I guess we are the fools because we went back AGAIN next month and believe it or not the very same thing happened. This is a very serious situation. We talked to the owners and they were extremely rude. There are so many good Sushi places in town. I am shocked that they would act this way. read more

Next to Radio Shack where Peking Palace used to be. The menu has Thai, Korean, Japanese and Chinese items on it. Prices are on the high side ($20 for Kal Bi lunch), but portions are huge. My aunt had the sesame chicken and I had the chicken bento box, and we might have made it a third of the way through our food. Went here for my sister's graduation and again for my birthday. The food was delicious and great in terms of proportions. The service was superb as the waitress remembered our group and was even nice enough to offer us additional rice bowls with no charge. I've tried most of the sushi (Japanese) places in town, and although I've only been here once, I believe this will become my new favorite sushi place. I love the decor..very clean and modern. There was only 1 waitress on duty early on a Tues, and it was oddly busy, so the service was leisurely...but not too annoyingly so. The menu is extensive with items for almost any taste: Korean,Thai, Chinese, and non-sushi Japanese. I always check out the Gyoza...and theirs were first-rate: light and tender, and properly pan-fired. I was excited to find Silk had my personal favorite "white tune" (escolar) sashimi...I was not disappointed in the quality. It was also not too chilled( which mutes the rich flavor). I also ordered a pair of baked mussels and two speciality rolls: the "blushing geisha", and "3 of a kind". Everything, except the Gyoza came beautifully arranged on a single large plate,. It tasted as good as it looked. There are other interesting speciality rolls that I definitely want to try; and I can't wait to come back and check out other dishes...especially the teryaki salmon and the Thai offerings. This is a welcome addition to this area of town and is an improvement on the previous occupant of the space. It's a little spendy, but worth it read more

The food was good, if you don't mind just eating whatever they feel like putting in front of you. I decided to try this place for lunch with my mother, as we'd heard good things. We were looking for Thai food, and assumed we'd find it here since there were pictures of pad thai all over the urbanspoon page, but when that wasn't available I decided to try their sushi. I ordered a special roll that sounded good but the roll they brought me was something completely different. When I pointed this out, and asked for what I ordered, the sushi chef got angry and began insisting that I had gotten mixed up and ordered the wrong roll. I double checked the menu, and even when I read word for word the roll that I had ordered, the staff insisted that wasn't ACTUALLY what the roll was. They eventually made me a new one, but the sushi chef continued to insist to whoever would listen- within earshot of me and my mother- that it was my fault for confusing the rolls. It was incredibly rude, and I definitely won't be returning. read more

Consistently good, but there's a bit of an assembly-line feeling when it comes to the food delivery. When the kitchen or sushi chef finishes a dish, it comes out, whether an appetizer or entree. Even when you say you'd rather not have the ubiquitous Miso and salad starters (which are tasty), they come like clockwork. I like getting my food freshly prepared and certainly don't want it sitting under a heat lamp or counter, but, especially when you're eating with a group, it's nice for different courses to arrive at the same time. This is a consistent problem at sushi places all over Anchorage (talking to you, Ichiban), but one that stands out at a place as lovely and delicious as Slik. read more

Went for a family birthday party, 11 people total. They were out of multiple items on the menu. 4 out of 11 people had to change their order. We had food come out in waves, 4 different times. All beef teriyaki orders (total of 3) were delivered cold. Udon noodle soup was just noodles, broth, and chicken; absolutely no veggies. We had to ask for dishes to be removed from the table. To top off the horrible experience, they added 18% gratuity and refused to remove it from the bill. Claimed the manager was out of town and it was house policy. We will not be returning! read more
