We brought in a group of about 60. They were ready for us, sent us the menu ahead of time so we were preordered and it was pretty good. I had the chicken pot pie. I was the only one in the group to get it, so I cannot compare notes. It was okay. Others got burgers, chicken, salads, etc. They looked to be the better option. The staff did great for our big group and we were served with efficiency. I'd go back, but I'd get the burger.

It had been maybe three years since we were last here, so we decided to give it a try. This time we showed up around 1:00pm on a Sunday. Silver Diner was busy, but we were seated immediately. I'll start out with the best: and that was the Oreo cookie shake. It was perfectly made and came with extra shake in a large metal cup. Service was also excellent; our server was friendly and responsive. Now, talking about the rest of our brunch: the greasy heavy home fries at Silver Diner are not good. I just couldn't finish them. I ordered the lumberjack breakfast, which is eggs, three pancakes, two choices of meat and home fries. For the meat, I picked chicken maple sausage and bacon. The bacon was okay, but the sausage was extremely dry and tough. I also ordered a side of wheat toast. The bread, with seeds, was quite good but they don't butter the toast for you. Instead, they give you little packets of butter that are rock hard from the fridge. Also they didn't give me any butter at all for my pancakes. The pancakes were decent but had a pronounced vanilla flavor. I considered ordering a burger, but chose not to when I discovered that Silver Diner uses those horrid fall-apart-after-the-first-bite Brioche buns. JP ordered a beautifully presented lamb shakshuka. The lamb was a tad gamey and the shakshuka had cilantro buried in there somewhere. Otherwise the shakshuka was good. Prices here are notably higher than at other local diners. But maybe in conclusion, I will say that you can have a good experience here if you are careful about what you order.

Waffle with eggs easy over and crispy bacon was delicious.

I tried to give Silver Diner Springfield another chance and they failed the prompt service test again. I was seated promptly. I looked over the menu 3-4 minutes, no server. I looked up and saw three servers talking amongst themselves. I tried to make eye contact. Finally, I flagged down a bus lady and asked her for a server. A few minutes passed and a young woman walked up to me and said "Your server is very busy now so I will help. I did not need that explanation. She offered to take my drink order. My server arrived, Sunita wasvery nice, but a bit stressed. Sunita was attentive. I placed my order. The food arrived and the order of waffles was perfect. The whole meal was good. I compare this Silver Diner to my favorite restaurants Silver Diner Fairfax and Tysons where service is superb. This Silver Diner Springfield needs to work on better service. I will come back again soon.

Stopped at the Silver Diner while in the area for Spring Break. Love the atmosphere and ambiance of the diner. Food was great. Had the grilled cheese deluxe and had to add an Oreo shake at the end. It all tasted perfect. Service was outstanding. Would definitely recommend if in the area

Fun diner experience! Popped in for breakfast and we arrived early, before the Sunday rush. Loved the music playing--it set a nice vibe. I had the Benedict with a side of bacon. It was tasty, though the bacon was from those 'paper pigs' (a prefer thicker bacon but still good). A great spot to stop by before hitting the road back home.

My husband and I don't go to Silver diner often, but when we do, the food is delicious! It also gives you an upscale diner feel! I ordered the Pastrami Rueben sandwich and ordered a peanut butter and banana milkshake. Probably one of the best Pastrami Rueben sandwiches I've had! Service was top notch!

The place is 24/7 and it is a big plus for those who can't find anything around Springfield when it's late. When it's late night, it can be kind of rough when it's packed with people coming from the bar next door or just a sudden group of hungry people wanting their breakfast fix. Like any breakfast places, it's quick, it's cheap, and affordable at a reasonable price. I went with what was comfort for me; Country Fried Steak with Scrambled Eggs and Hash Browns with White Toast. The sausage gravy that the used on the Country Fried Steak? It elevates it to a whole new level. Eggs tasted buttery, and Hash Browns crispy with a nice side of grease coming to it. I can't really complain because this is something I eat once in a while but it's my guilty pleasure. Overall, you can't go wrong with Bob & Edith's. They are just open at any time and you are rest assured that your breakfast will be good as mine.

As expected, it was busy, but the restaurant does have a fairly large parking lot which made arrival easier. The setup was interesting. After checking in downstairs, I was given a ticket and directed upstairs for seating. I took the elevator, which offered a clear view of the kitchen below as it ascended... definitely a unique touch. Upstairs, another host staff guided us to our table. The space had a lively feel, roaring with chatter from customers, and I could see parts of the kitchen where food was being prepared over an open flame, which added to the overall atmosphere. For the food, we started with the calamari. It was cooked well and had a nice texture, especially paired with the crispy onion shoestrings, which added a good crunch and flavor. It was served over a lobster sauce, although the lobster flavor wasn't very noticeable. The main issue was the salt level... it was quite heavy! I did enjoy it overall, but I would only recommend it to someone who doesn't have to watch their sodium intake. For entrées, I ordered the steak cooked medium with broccolini. The dish automatically comes with mashed potatoes, and while I was able to substitute the salad for broccolini, there didn't seem to be flexibility with the potatoes. After tasting the mashed potatoes, I wish I was offered to substitute it as it tasted like the brown box we grew up on where you just added water. When the food came out, the steak was closer to medium-well or well done rather than medium, and both the mashed potatoes and broccolini were a bit cold. I chose not to send it back since we waited but it did affect the overall experience. My guest ordered the ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs were well-prepared--tender with a clean pull off the bone--and were probably the highlight of the meal. The fries were also very good and came out hot. The coleslaw wasn't as well received, described as having too many of the tougher parts of the cabbage. Overall, the experience had some positives, especially in terms of atmosphere and certain menu items like the ribs and fries. While I did enjoy parts of the meal, it's not somewhere I would personally return to, but it may be worth trying once to form your own opinion.

City Diner has an all-day menu for breakfast, lunch and diner.' I ordered the Club Sandwich with turkey and bacon. Made with tomato, lettuce, turkey and bacon, the portion size was very generous. However, I'm pretty certain that they were missing a slice of bread on one half of the sandwich, making that half very awkward to eat. I swapped out the fries for onion rings, which were fine. And, they were not beer-battered. Yay! I ordered grits as my side and was very pleased when they gave me a whole bunch of cream packets to go on my grits.
