A fun find a little off the beaten path. The sports bar in the middle serves classic bar food and exactly what I was looking for. Prices are reasonable, slots are all newer which is good and bad. No nostalgic machines or pull handles. Very comfortable atmosphere and decent service. I'd say stop in if you're up there to eat, relax and play. read more

Stayed here for business, rooms were clean, updated and new. Friendly staff, casino was clean and had a non smoking side (yay). Comfortable beds and nice shower/bathroom! The TV was pretty big and I got complimentary buffet tickets for breakfast. I enjoyed the stay and hope to be back for the spa services and for a vacation getaway next time! read more

We stayed at the Silver Reef last night for our anniversary. The hotel staff was friendly, the hotel was nice, updated and clean. We had dinner at the Steak House and it was delicious. We had the lobster ravioli and steak & lobster. The service was also great, Jori was our waitress. I had an in room massage from Brin. That was nice and relaxing. We played slots and I didn't have a problem with the smoke smell like other reviewers commented on. Overall, I'm impressed with the Silver Reef and definitely will be coming back :) read more

We celebrated my fiancee birthday at a vacation resort,the resort staff recommended the" the steak house restaurant" and our waitress" Cassandra was the best.my sweetheart was overwhelmed by the great service.food was excellent. I love staying at this casino when in WA. Rooms are great and it's cheaper than a holiday inn. There are a few restaurants and offer pretty good food. I like it the most for the new cigar lounge. This lounge is brand new and has everything you could want. The cigar selection is minimal but the lounge makes up for it. I will be back. read more

A few months ago I commented about the dour looks and non-s,icing faces on the staff, particularly those in the deli and cafe service area. Definitely a big improvement in this area. It appears the folks have been receiving some training in how to take care of the public. Keep up the improvement. All of it helps the dining experience be a pleasant one. read more

I stayed at there Hotel on the way back from a trip to Canada and was surprise that this casino is pretty nice a none of the pictures I have seen have gave it justice not even the post cards...LOL I had excellent customer service in the Hotel but had to give them four stars cause the restaurant next to the cafe had real bad customer service. read more

This was my second time staying at the Reef. Food is okay. Rooms are okay. Price is reasonable. Staff are nice and helpful. My beef? The smoke. OMG it is the worst I've ever experienced. Vegas casinos packed to the rafters with serious smokers can't compete with the level of toxic nicotine in this place. There needs to be a serious overhaul of the ventilation system...or maybe the addition of an actual ventilation system? Or a bigger non-smoking section of the casino because the postage stamp sized section right next to the smoking area does nothing for me. I like to gamble and like to spend a number of hours inside a casino when I go away but I can't justify risking my health by returning to the Reef. read more

Went there today and the buffet was to die for. Teriyaki steak,king crab,and other varieties, cod in sauce that was very tasty. Pasta bar was excellent with shrimp and scallops. Clam chowder and desserts excellent as well. All free for birthday gift. Not many casinos do that anymore. I hadn't been there in two years. Excellent opportunity to play double deck black jack. I visited Silver Reef last week. While sitting at the slot machine I was wearing my backpack with my diabetic supplies. An extremely rude employee came over and started threatening me for wearing the backpack at the slot machine. He even threatened me with a life time ban from the casino. There was clearly no reasoning with this hostile individual. I am going to do him and the casino a favor and give myself a lifetime ban from this place. No thanks, never again. read more

This review is for the Steakhouse restaurant in the Silver Reef casino. It is, bar none, one of the best restaurants I have ever experienced. The service was extraordinary and the food quality and presentation were exceptional. The dinners are on the pricy side but are large enough to feed two. My wife and I shared Oysters Rockefeller and a 14 oz striploin with mushrooms and potato. We didn't order wine but the coffee was delightful and included a service tray of condiments including whipped milk, crystalized sugar on a stir stick, chocolate pieces and cocanut. We took home leftovers and I'm an, er, big guy. The cost was $52. I have eaten here before and the standard is consistently high. I'll drive the 30 clicks from Canada any day to dine here. Reservations are usually required but if you're flexible with when you eat, they can usually fit you in (and there is a casino to distract you while you wait). read more

Just returned from my birthday weekend. I was so sad to leave. My wife and I arrived on a Thursday. We went straight for the Mexican restaurant as we have not been here since the expansion was opened. The food blew us away. We have been to Mexico 3 times in the last few years, and the Cantina would give most all restaurants there a run for the money for authentic. The rooms and suites are great. All the staff are friendly and honest. This was the second of many many more visits to come. I would have to say though, if you want a meal to die for hit the Steakhouse. Both times I have stayed I have gone there for the 24 ounce porterhouse stake. I am not a religious man but by god it was heavenly, even better then I remembered it. read more

I visited on a Tuesday evening in Late-March 2016. I've been to many casinos including most in: Las Vegas, Oklahoma, Atlantic City, & Reno. Small to moderate sized casino with good selection of games. There are Table games. The non-smoking area was tiny, but ventilation seemed fine even in the smoking area. No free self-serve drinks. Staff were notably friendlier than most. Player's club card available. You get $5 when you sign up & a $5 food credit. If you play 250 points you get another $5. There's no pin number. Overall, it's pretty good if your in the area. read more

Before I start ranting I want to begin by saying I really like the Silver Reef Hotel. Thoroughly Enjoy eating at The Steakhouse located inside the casino. Dining there Always feels romantic and special. THIS ONE STAR IS FOR THE CASINO (not the hotel or restaurants) I did have one problem in the Casino about 2 years ago near the slots late in the evening they were mopping the floors near an area I was playing along with my husband. Floors wet but I didn't know, no sign up saying caution... of course I slipped, hit my arm and head on a machine. Bruised and sore. I reported it to the front desk and then the next morning we met with manager to file a complaint. I didn't sue because basically my sores healed and no lasting problems. I do notice they now have signs up when floors are wet. The reason I am bringing this up is to explain that I don't usually post bad reviews but I don't remember EVER BEING SO MAD ! TODAY I WAS AT THE CRAPS TABLE. My husband and I enjoy playing craps. We understand the game and have played craps together for at least 35 years. It was my turn to roll the dice. There were 2 other people at the table playing. I was have a very good roll... had already made 3 points. We were establishing another number on the come out roll. I rolled an eight (not a hard 8). The lady who had just come to the table, sits in the middle seat, took all the hard ways down for the 8. When my husband and I play we ALWAYS turn off our hard ways on the coming out number. They USUALLY ask us each time and we say we are off. This time they didn't ask and we lost our bets. She wouldn't even consider our objections and when we spoke to the pit boss ... basically he said unless we say each time we're off then we are on. We can't just say we are always off. Basically I feel they should ask each time (which most casinos do) if we are working on the hard ways on the come out roll. The pit boss asked if I wanted a comment card to fill out and I told him I'd rather write a review online. I would normally give this Hotel and casino 4 stars. We've been staying there for years. This incident left a bad feeling and it will be awhile before I return. Hopefully that lady won't be working there the day I play again. I will also mention the night before there was a lady working at the table, Chrystal was her name. A hard 6 was played and my husband had a hard 6. He told the man handling the payout of the hard ways to put another $1 on his hard 6 and he wanted to place the #6. He was paid accordingly for the remainder of the bet, which amounted to $2. Chrystal didn't place the $6, so the next time the 6 rolled my husband did not get paid and no one would even listen to my husband trying to explain why he was frustrated. This particular trip to Silver Reef was just a bad experience in the Casino due to the fact that the people who work there are not well trained and very poor communication skills. Well I am finished RANTING and now I can go to sleep! read more

This is a classy cool place where you can go in jeans or a prom dress and fit in either way. You can eat prime rib steak or grab a pizza; play penny slots or roulette; and even spend the night at the hotel for a midrange price. The hotel is very nice and has a spa, pool, free buffet breakfast, and whirlpool rooms. There's weekend promotions to win big prizes and free casino play ; and an event center that has a variety of venues, several foods and cocktail spots and even valet. I have made several trips the buffet. Food is adequate but not outstanding. The worst part is the attitude of some of the employees in the buffet. Most of them look very unhappy. Workers at the desk do not greet you properly and do not seem to care if they have patrons or not. When they come to your table to ask for your drink choice they do not introduce themselves. No smiles from them. They rarely ask you if you would like a coffee refill and when I asked I felt like I was annoying them. The staff at the Skagit and Tulalip Casinos greet you right away and nothing is too much trouble. Something is very "off "with the mood of most the buffet employees including the staff repleneshing the foods . Almost like the soup guy in Seinfeld. It was about 50 min Waiting in line for a players card is hardly worth the $5 slot play in all regard Out of all machines played at least 5 didn't recognize/ accept the players card (pushed the service button each time and no one came to assist The card is designed to accumulate point etc Cleanliness around the machines, ashes everywhere with half full ashtrays, machines hardly wiped down or cared for Not a very thorough room cleaning, there was and still is a note written in the room booklet that was trashy and should be taken out. Even the door "privacy please hanger" had coffee spilled all over it Hotel parking non existent, I advise valet and walk through the casino to check in We had asked for milk at the espresso place and were told they would have to charge the price of an espresso. I thought ok and what would that be? He said he didn't know how to ring it up. Sorry I like having a simple glass of milk with my dinner. (That's on me though) still no help. All and all: To drive up from Everett vs other casinos, there really has to be an offer to stay for a really affordable price or simply not worth it. My name is Brittany and I WAS a frequent goer to silver reef until tonight, when I had one drink (going on my second) and the server came over and told me she wasn't going to serve me another drink and took mine right out of my hand. And then told my boyfriend that if he got me a drink he would get in trouble. I am 22 years old and in NO way was intoxicated. IN FACT i was not even playing roulette, I was calmly sitting next to boyfriend. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GO TO SKAGIT CASINO INSTEAD OF SILVER REEF. Because of how disrespectful they were tonight and how rude they were to me and boyfriend, I will never go back there or return there. I feel so disrespected and think very lowly of them. DO NOT GO THERE. Any other casino but them you will have more fun, better luck and wont get kicked out for being sober. TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. read more

The best steakhouse in the North West, too put it simply. This place is worth the drive. We went on New Years , my birthday. The entire casino was packed but the newly built section where we entered was smoke free and easy to move through. Dinner was great, a perfectly cooked filet mingnon with a King crab leg that was shelled for us. The crab was sweet, lovely crab meat. Emmmm, good! Before dinner, I had a drink at the bar just outside the Steakhouse. It was very mediocre, just a drink. When we sat down in the Steakhouse, our server asked if I wanted another drink. I told him that I did not want another half ass drink when he assured me that he made an excellent Lemon Drop. He brought a glass the size of a baby's skull and said he had a " special" addition if I would like. " What is the special addition" I asked. When he replied "Chambord" I said bring it on! It was an excellent Lemon Drop. I chose their creamed spinach as a side dish. This is possibly the best creamed spinach I have ever eaten. You can taste just how fresh the spinach is, with perfect seasoning and crisp thick cut bacon chunks, it is wonderful. My only complaint, is that the casino is smoke filled and many smokers get offended if you say "excuse me" as you try to pass by and not touch their lit cigarette. Please Silver Reef, install a better air circulation system that will filter out the smoke and separate the slot machines so a person can move through without getting either a cigarette in the face or being burned. read more

First off we were overwhelmed with the smell of stale smoke when we arrived. (They really need to do a better job of filtering the air the vegas or reno.) We found our way to the Buffet and the food was terrible. It was all prepackaged food for $26 and nothing was worth the calories. What a waste of a fun evening out. The funny thing is that a drunk guy at the buffet told the server that he was so excited that they were able to make the same fish that they sell at McDonalds. Need I say more! read more

Just had the Champagne buffet and it was very nice for the $17 price, 2 glasses of champagne, and children eat free!!! Nice selection of breakfast items and a few lunch type foods, and then the desserts:) Incredible bread pudding! Nice staff and atmosphere. read more

Stinks like a million smokers have been stinking it up over a period of years. Which is exactly what they have been doing. The digital sign on the highway advertised a buffet special, I was hungry so I took the exit and started driving. It's pretty much half way across the county from that exit, so that's strike no 1. Strike 2 was the server advising me that the buffet had closed just before I walked in, despite their luring you all the way from the highway with the digital (and therefore time-adjustable) billboard. Strike 3 was as I was leaving to find a restaurant I noted that gas was advertised at their on-site gas station (many of the casinos around here have these, not sure why - maybe it has something to do with native status and taxes or something) for $1.89 (reg). Pretty good price. As I was pumping it I noted that the pump was charging 2.18 for regular low octane gas. I figured the advertised price was for cash payers, so I filled up and went inside. Nope! The clerk told me that "the price went up". But they couldn't be bothered to change the electronic sign. I guess they don't live in fear of the regulators showing up. I don't gamble so I can't give you a review about that stuff, but there were lots of slot machines and a few of the tables had customers and crupiers, so it looked pretty typical in that department. The clientele looks pretty trailer park. Not many high rollers evident. read more

Located just off I 5 nice Casino, adding onto the hotel should be finished some time this year, Great pizza , Small Casino but nice, RV parking is in the far end of the south parking lot. Seams to always have a tour bus at the Casino which seams to effect the casino payouts. read more

Review of Silver Reef Casino Hotel room. First off I had a great time Gambling, The casino itself is VERY nice, quite elegant - but when it came time to go to my hotel room, things changed. I stayed in a smoking room with two queen sized beds for $149.95. The first thing I noticed is that the lighting was absolutely terrible. They used 25 watt Florissant light bulbs in all the lamps, except the bathroom which was lit better, but still lacking. Even over the coffee pot area there was zero light as it was in it's own dark corner, it was terrible. Why there would be zero light where there is water and electricity involved is beyond me. The room was dark enough that I couldn't really tell if the room was really clean or not. It looked clean, but in that lighting who could really tell. There was no microwave, nor refrigerator. When I called to the front desk to ask where they were, I was told "I can bring you a little refrigerator for $15 a night, but we have no microwaves, as we expect you to eat in our restaurants". Well, sounds like these guys are pretty smart, I can't argue with that. Right away I noticed that not one of the metal trash cans had bags in them, so I was subject to other peoples germs and such. Nothing is as gross as a snotty trash can! Actually, this was the very first time I had encountered this little issue - EVER! I have traveled the world, and wow - even hostiles have trash can liners! These trash cans looked pretty skanky to say the least. Cigarette ash residue and all kinds of other unknown goodies were there to be had. When I opened up the TV cabinet, the doors would not even open up all the way, so you had to be almost directly in front of the TV. The problem with that is that the good viewing area was "in-between" the beds! I have never been in a room so poorly designed in my life. You had to lay on the edge of the beds to see the whole TV properly. Anyone laying in the middle or the other side of the bed would have a door in the way of their view. Then comes the size of the TV, it might have been a 25" set on a good day, but it was more like a 20". The TV was old school and not even a flat screen, this TV was ghetto! However, they at least had a bunch of great movie channels. I had to move the easy chair in-between the beds to really watch TV like a normal person. Now on to the one easy chair in the room, (a room supposedly meant to sleep four people, thank heavens I was by myself). It was the cheapest most uncomfortable chair I have ever experienced in a hotel room. Even $50 rooms have better chairs than this. I had to take a pillow and put it in my lower back to make it even livable. The alarm clock was an absolute joke. And in keeping with the low light policy, I couldn't see the clock even in the dark as the back lighting was so dim. I woke up at 3:00 a.m. and looked at the alarm clock and had to get up and get about four feet in front of it to even see the time. Just pathetic! The air conditioner was screwed up, and would not work properly. It would start up, and then turn off all the time before it got down to the set temperature. I actually slept with only the sheet because I was sweating so much. I slept in the bed closest to the window so that I would be able to be a little cooler with an open window. On to the beds. The beds were already worn out with little support, and this hotel is only two years old. Cheap mattresses shaped like a potato chip in the middle. There must have been a lot of central mattress action going on in this room! I woke up the next morning with a terrible back ache. How did I wake up? Well since I had the window open, I was awakened by guys dragging trash cans to the dumpster. I mean at 6:00 a.m., couldn't you have a heart? I even closed the window, and I could still hear them dragging those darn trash cans around. I was absolutely flabbergasted! The nerve! Do that crap in the evening! Never stay on the side of the hotel facing the east (The back), you will regret it. The coffee maker was pretty small, a single cup at a time, but at least with with great tasting coffee. But if you have more than one person staying there, it will be a hassle. The walls were not well sound proofed and I got to hear a really happy middle aged couple making hay while the sun shined around 8:00 a.m.. Then to my surprise, I got to hear the same thing on steroids from the other room next to me at about 9:15 a.m., but these folks were younger and more vocal. I also got to hear so much noise coming from the hall, everything from doors slamming (lots of Boom - Boom - Boom going on) to room cleaners clinking around glasses. By far the nicest part of this room was the bathroom area. It had much better lighting, but the vent did not work - and for a smoking room, this was not cool. I find the service aphorrent. Most of the bartenders and dealers couldn't be bothered with me/us. The drinks are very expensive, the food so so and the management is just plain rude. I did find the security personnel friendly, but that is the only thing positive I can say about my experience. I live in Ferndale, and I will travel south from now on to enjoy a night on the town. Went to the buffet on Saturday. Been going there for years! They don't give you any bacon or ham anymore unless you pay $3 extra. The buffet items were half of what they used to be. No more corn beef potato entree. You have to make your own waffle now. Went way down hill for some reason. Shame on the Lummi tribe. Greedy people, don't recommend anyone going anymore. Arrived at 9:15 was told to hurry and eat as the buffet closes at 10am now and they shut everything down so lunch can be brought out. Won't go back - they lost a good customer. read more

My wife and I decided to have our guest from our recent wedding stay at the silver reef casino and it was a HUGE MISTAKE!!! The rest of the wedding went seamlessly, but all of the problems that we did encounter were due to silver reef casino. First they had problems getting the reservations correct for several guest. They charged a guest several months before their stay, they did not associate several guests with the wedding, the did not get the names of several guest correct.....and the list goes on.... It got so bad that I had people from my wedding calling me to try to get the hotel to fix the problem because the guest had already been on hold for about thirty minutes without any positive changes being made. So I called the hotel to try to get the names of the guest corrected and ended up getting transferred several times because no one had the authority to help me solve the problem. After several hours on the phone with the hotel coordinator to fix all of the issues, she mentioned that they could offer us a secluded area on the sixth floor (private floor) to have a wedding rehearsal. They were going to offer coffee, cookies and appetizers to make up for all of the hassle that our guest and myself had to endure. The sixth floor was so private that they even offered to have a hotel staff member shuttle our guest to the sixth floor on the elevator because guest could not get to it without a special key.....Low and behold! No one helped all of our guest to the sixth floor and there were no appetizers or coffee. I had to ride the elevator up and down for 45 minutes to get our guests to the rehearsal and in the end; the "private" area that they offered on the sixth floor was not private. After several trip myself up and down the elevator to get our guests to the sixth floor, other guests in the hotel constantly interrupted us. When I asked the front desk about the problem, she started to argue with me saying that they had not agreed to that. Then when she finally contacted a supervisor and found that she was wrong, she then said that it was not their fault and that a member of the hotel staff had attended.......I was there and they did not! Do not stay at this hotel and especially do not coordinate a wedding with this hotel. On top of it all...many guest complained that the wall were to thin and they could not sleep because of the noise, But even if it was quite that they could not sleep in those hard beds anyways. My mom and I have been coming here for years. We always have fun gambling. The only reason I give this casino 3 stars instead of 5 is because of a problem I see with people leaving dogs in their cars on hot days outside, and the lack of security concern about this. I saw a dog in a large van last summer and approached a security guard outside and told him. He said that he couldn't do anything to help the dog. I asked him to page the owner and he said "they never respond". The dog was panting like mad. I have since seen other dogs in cars outside on hot days. I wrote the casino a letter about this and they were gracious but told me the person I approached wasn't security. He had a jacket with the word "Security" on it, so it definitely was. They patrol the parking lot all the time and I strongly suggest they become more vigilant of dog owners leaving dogs in cars if it is 10 degrees F or more...dogs need circulating air as they can't ventilate the way humans can. It is extra work, but the SR seems to be so good in many other ways, that i think the effort is worthwhile. There are so many horrible dog owners out there and many of them think it's okay to gamble and leave their dogs with the windows cracked an inch. SR - please amp up your security by checking to make sure no dogs or children are left in cars outside. read more

I was happy that I actually won a bit of money, and played for a few hours without losing hundreds of american dollars (I canadian) in future I will not support a casino that only wants to take your money, therefore I will keep going back as long as I feel that the casino GIVES and takes. The pizza restaurant at 10:00 pm on Sunday before labour day was absolutely PAINFUL. They were soooo slow and disorganized it was a joke. I just wanted to jump behind the counter and take over as the Manager. The food is really good but the service is worse than poor. This place could be hopping with great sandwiches and pizza, with the right manager, motivation, and well trained staff. Please do us a favour and get it working like a well greased wheel. From the manager to the staff the service was so poor and so broken with no efficiency whatsoever that I can assure you the restaurant will go BROKE, even though the food is good! Get it? The Silver reef USED to be my favorite casino to come stay and play. We have stayed here several times and eat in the Steak House each time we come up. I will also get massages and/or pedicures in the Spa. We checked in today and got a room in the North Tower, we have never stayed in the North Tower before. The rooms were great. Off to the Steak House we go. As usual customer service and food at the Steak House was great. There were two couples and the waiter split the tabs correctly. The manager picked up our credit cards re rang up our bill and split it down the middle. So the waiter had to fix the managers mistake. That was problem #1. Problem #2 was in the lounge. The waitress was charging our tables twice for drinks and after my husband paid for a round of drinks signed and closed out his bill the waitress continues to put drinks on his bill. We spent over an hour sorting this out and security had to look at tapes to prove that we were right. This totally ruined our night. If we could have been refunded for our room we would have gone home. We will never spend another dime here again. If you have used your credit/debit card here, make sure you don't have additional charges. After all was said and done and the charges corrected all we get is an "I am sorry" You obviously don't want our business anymore. As much money as we spend here we should have never been told we were lying about our bill. The waitress that caused all this never even apologized. What happened to customer service??? We will never be back. read more
