Upon arrival we were greeted by two lovely ladies at the front desk. They found our reservation easily, helped with questions about a gift card we had and gave some helpful information regarding the room and certain workings of it. I let them know we were celebrating our anniversary. We went to the room and found it is as pictured online. Then went to the casino for a bit when we came back there was a card and little gift waiting for us! The shower is AMAZING!!!! It can be a little hard to get the right temperature though. The bed was comfy, however the sheet kept coming off all night. There was a stand to put our suitcase on as well as several drawers and a closet for your clothes. The blackout curtains work perfect they let nearly no light in the room. We did not have a great view we were in a room that faced the back of the convenience store next door. So if view is important ask when checking in about it, i know from the location there has to be rooms with great views. Unfortunately the rooms are not very sound proof. It seems the walls are good but the doors leading to the hallway and connecting rooms let every bit of sound in. Was kept up all night by people in the hall making a lot of noise. I could not tell what room they were in so could not call the front desk for help. In the am i spoke to other guests on my floor and they had the same experience. The pool area is a little run down and there were way too many chemicals in the hot tub, my eyes and nose were burning. The included breafast was good, you have to pay extra for meat. They had eggs, potatoes, a sausage breakfast cassarole, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal and more. If not for the poeple there would have been a lot less stars. read more

Unless you are a chain smoker, and the smell of cigarettes gives you pleasure, I would avoid this place like the plague! Our first of two scheduled nights there, our heater quit working. We woke up in the morning to find our room at a frigid 61 degrees. They were prompt to fix the problem once we contacted them. The smell of smoke could be smelled all the way up to our room which was on the sixth floor. There isn't a single restaurant that was on the property that didn't reek of cigarettes, making the stay unbearable. Since the property is in the middle of nowhere, this made the stay very unrewarding. We did decide not to stay the second night that we paid for, and asked for the hotel to credit us for the night we didn't use. To make things worse, it took four phone calls from me, in which each time I was promised a manager would call me back, before they told me that they would only offer a fifty dollar credit towards our first night. They completely dismissed my concerns about the second night. Very poor customer service in my opinion. Finally, I will finish by saying, that because my wife is pregnant, and concerned about second hand smoke, we specifically asked about the cigarette smoke. We understand that this is a casino, and some smoke is expected, but we were reassured that they have an "excellent " ventilation system and smoke wouldn't be a problem. We drove two and a half hours to make the trip based on that reassurance. read more

Well, hmmm. It was indeed OK, A-OK? Sure, I guess. My brother-in-law got married here a while back. For a wedding locale, It was a little AWKWARD ,to say the least. Bells clanging, change pouring out, people furiously smoking (including wedding party members) right outside the room, it was a bit much for me. The staff was pretty good at trying to accommodate the wedding party needs, but there were some hiccups along the way, I give them a B+ for effort, a C for what was available to work with. We stayed in one of the rooms and swam in the pool, it was all perfectly nice, but nothing spectacular so ergo the 3 stars. The food we had was decent, I'd not be upset to eat it again but wouldn't seek it out. My boyfriend and I went here for the buffet. Friday night was a seafood buffet and it was pretty soild. We got there around dinner time at 7:30-8:00pm and were told there was a 1 hour wait and were given a token which would go off when seats were available. We were able to freely walk around the casino and hotel while waiting. There's not a whole lot to see other than gamblers, it's weird walking around because you forget you're in a random city near bellingham. Felt like vegas but a cheezy low grade version! Haha. The buffet was pretty good. Good selection of seafood, 3 different crabs, shrimp (All cold) with melted butter to go with it! The clam bisque was AMAZING. They have other non-seafood choices, roast beef chicken fish etc too. I didn't get to try everything but most of it. Not a lot of veggie options so not a good place for that, not worth it. There's a small salad area but very little for toppings, from what I remember it was literally just lettuce. There's a personalized pasta area too where you can custom make your own pasta with choices of toppings, meats, sauces noodles etc. Dessert was great too, cheesecakes, individual ice creams, no complaints. You get free drinks with your admission as well. Overall, very good. The servers were good and refilled our "scraps" bowl often and were always very accommodating. Wow. What an amazing surprise. Honestly, my gal and I had never heard of this place until we won a weekend there, and we weren't expecting much but boy were we blown away! We are both foodies and have eaten at some of the nicer restaurants in Seattle, and we loved every single meal we had here. The amenities, service, food, everything was fantastic. HOTEL We actually stayed in a normal room the first night and it was clean, fairly modern and up to par with what you'd expect. Flat screen TV with LOTS of channels which was nice. Bed was comfortable. The 2nd night we had the luxury of being able to stay in one of their Diamond Executive Suite. FANTASTIC. Huge bathroom with walk in shower and big spa tub. Separate bedroom with it's own TV, kitchen area with fridge, and another TV. And a friggin massage chair! That was a new one. Also, you get free breakfast with every room. Outstanding. RESTAURANTS Wow. This place has like 10 different restaurants to choose from. First up, we ate at the mexican restaurant The Cantina. YUM. We eat at a lot of mexican restaurants, and it's one of the best we've had. Table side guac? Yes please. So good, priced very well. Great start to our mealcation. Next up, we ate at The Steakhouse. Nailed it again. Everything was so good. Great food, great service, great ambiance. We eat at El Gaucho in Seattle often, and this measured up easily. And almost half the price. We also ate at some of the smaller food shops and seriously, everything was delicious. SPA By the time we got to our spa appointments we were already sold. Of course, between my massage and my fiance's pedicure, we were both again blown away by the quality of the experience. Great experience and if we lived in the area, we'd come here just for this. EVERYTHING ELSE We usually play slots just for the fun of it. I'm not sure of the rules or laws that govern payouts, but I swear this place paid out better than any other casino we've been to (Vegas, Tulalip, etc.). Holy SMOKES, the ventilation in this place sucks. Stayed there for Superbowl Sunday. Rooms were pretty nice, walking thru casino to get to room was pure torture. Had I known earlier that it was this smoky, would have cancelled my room. In this evening, most the restaurants shut down at 9( after a large event like this really?!?!) I couldn't even eat in the remaining places that were serving food because of the smoke. Had to go outside of casino. The event I was a part of, they did not recycle!! Staff said they were not prepared or able to handle this type of event recycling wise?? Really, did the Superbowl spring on your radar at the last minute?! The hotel staff was pleasant. We have been to Silver Reef in the past while staying in Lynden and loved it. Today we went for the Asian Buffet. Worst decision we ever made. You coild not really tell it was Asian except for the pot stickers and egg roll. All the coated items like shrimp, orange chicken were soggy. The soup was clam chowder and vegetable soup....hmmm . Granted it was 2;00. The chow mein was like pilaf, the peanut chicken was non descript blob. BUT to top it all off, a warning to those going for the dinner buffett.....it starts with ALL the left over lunch buffet items. We sat an watch them take out clean line pans, dump all remaining food in clean pans, cover with suran wrap and place them in the warming ovens. With that picture burned in my mind, we decided no way we are going to the Seafood Buffet on Friday. I stayed here over the weekend with my husband to celebrate his birthday. The room was cozy. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom nice and water pressure good. The staff was very friendly. It wasn't terribly expensive and our room rate included the breakfast buffet for each of us the next morning. So why only 3 stars? The jokers in the room next to ours decided to move the Halloween party from the banquet room to theirs. We could hear every word they were saying. So annoying. Even more annoying? After they were done partying I could hear the freaking headboard banging. You'd think a hotel would make sure their rooms were set up in a way where that was something that wouldn't happen too often since obviously people will be making good use of their beds! We ordered a fish and chips dinner, and that was the most awful dish I ever had. The fish was not fully cooked, but the batter was almost black. I believed their cooking oil was too old and dirty, how can the fish is not fully cooked but the batter is almost black? The house always wins, no matter how much you spend here and the little old lady with brown hair manning/policing the tables is out to get everyone that is on their phone or standing too close to the tables. She is inconsiderate, not courteous to the gamblers and she stares you down and yells at you trying to enforce their rules. She makes your experience very negative. If it was such a big deal then the casino should put a tape line around the tables on the floor and a sign that says please stand behind the line when the tables are full or at capacity. This would make her life easier and the experience of your customers much more pleasant. The lady is a bitch, not customer friendly and is not a good asset for the company. Stay away from this place and her! One customer down. There are plenty of other casinos to gamble at that treat you better and where you can have a good time. Save your money or be warned! read more

Was looking for a quick relaxing get away. Booked a King room ahead of time. Pricey for what you get which is a basic room. No fridge available and some of the lighting did not work. Stayed in the North Tower which is supposedly the newer tower, did not look very new. The caddy shower items in the bathroom were empty and room did not look very clean, mostly with COVID precautions in place. Had hell trying to get something to eat in the casino. Thankfully we had a wonderful server at the bar who was the highlight of the whole trip. Not much to look at out the window. We had a wonderful view of the gas station and parking lot! Casino is small with few tables mostly slots. When we arrived we were advised that it is first come first serve if you do not want a room with an adjoining door to the room next to you and was told it shouldn't be a problem as long as we didn't unlock it. Alternative was move us to the older tower or take a room with Queen double beds. Smh..I advise the lady that it would be good service to inform your customers of that when they book. Anyway we will not be returning. We made the experience as nice as we could because that is who we are. I believe Silver can do better with customer service and please clean the rooms more thoroughly! read more

We went there for a Sat. night prime ribs buffet meal with local friends. The meal is decent for the price ($25.95/pp). Not a huge variety and not quite like in Vegas, but the price is good and the food is solid, a tad bit more fried food than I'd like and not a lot of cooked veggies, but I guess that's what the locals prefer. This is a nice casino overall and we really enjoyed ourselves. Here is a breakdown of the pluses and minuses: Room was very clean and comfortable, par for the course and priced okay at $119.00. It would be nice if they had Keurig coffee makers. Included was the Silver Signature Breakfast which we had to unfortunately forgo since we slept in. No ref and microwave if that is of interest to you. They also have a fairly nice indoor pool and spa. Casino is medium sized and arranged nicely. It is LESS smokey than most other casinos. A bar and restaurant at each end, Mexican food on one side, Asian on the other, and a deli style place kind of in the middle that made me a decent club type sandwich. I saw allot of people ordering their freshly made, stone-oven grilled pizza- they look mighty tasty! One thing that was noticeably absent from the casino is a self-serve beverage station. Most nice casinos here in WA have them. There are slots aplenty (1000+?)and lots of good table games especially the blackjack. We tried the PanAsian restaurant as soon as we arrived and were disappointed. Service was okay and the menu is appropriate for the venue. The problem was the food. We ordered the Kung pao chicken, Mongolian beef, and hot and sour soup. The food arrived within 4 minutes which is too fast. You cannot properly prepare food if it comes that fast which tells me that everything was pre-cooked. The portions were generous but the flavor was not "Asian". We are kind of Asian food snobs as so speak, and this food is not very Asian. Overall we really liked this casino and will be back. A couple tweaks and this will be a 4-5 star resort. read more

This is the worst casino I have ever been to in terms of how poorly they treat VIP high rollers. They put enforcing their outdated ridiculous policies ahead of respect and appreciation for VIP players. Makes no difference to them if you bet 38c or $8.88 because the management is clueless on how to run a casino a sentiment shared by many other VIP players I have gotten to know in fact they all prefer Skagit and Tulalip. Case in point when I complained and asked to speak to the director who set the policy instead of listening to my valid complaints. Ideserved a face to face explanation of why only hours earlier another supervisor had already shut down 2 machines for me the same way others had done the previous 7 days I was there and all previous visits and I have seen machines shut down on Triple Fortune Drsgon for woman who begs $10 a spin. So since part of the problem is that even though the hosts are generally good at their job their boss Krissy Washington who claims to have been the manager is clueless on how to run a player host program. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if she were fired by Skagit. She decided instead of listening to my complaints and finding a resolution she asked my mother and I to leave. We are both Salmon (highest) tier players and thus is how she she chooses to deal with the problem? To add insult to injury their equally moronic head of security Gary James threatened to call the police because I was trespassing--I was standing at the cashier waiting for her to tally up my vouchers and pay me my money so I told Gary he should go behind the counter and count the money out himself and go ahead and call the police because they would realize when they got here it was a waste of their time since I was simply waiting for MY MONEY. He knows so little about casino operations he said I could get a check as if that'd be any faster and is I would trust that the check would even clear. I'm a hosted player and know hosted players at every casino I go to I think I now more about running a host program that draws VIP players versus drives them to the competition which in fact is what Krissy Washington does because I run into players I met at Silver Thief at Tulalip and Skagit all the time and they all say when they have time they'd rather drive further to other casinos than go to Silver Thief, which says a lot about about how little regard they have for that establishment ever since the Lummi tribe which also doesn't know how to run a casino changed management and policies. In fact I would say if you are a high limit player, don't waste your time at Silver Thief just go to Tulalip. In fact feel free to contact me and I'll introduce you to a casino host there. Their rewards program and perks are 100x better. Here are some examples of Silver Thief's dumb policies: 1) No device charging in the casino- every other casino allows it as long as you are playing. 2) ID having to be Identical otherwise they refuse to process transactions. My bank card has Nancy Lily Fey and my Drivers License has Nancy Fey so they would process my transaction even though my players card has both Nancy and Lily and the give the excuse their refusal is for my protection?! If anyone agrees either of these are ridiculous or have had bad experiences please add your input and share. Maybe when they start losing enough players who pay for multiple employees' salaries with their play, they're going to have to cut way more than just the bell desk if their hotel. read more

We decided to come up here for a post-christmas stay. At the end, when all was said and done, we had a wonderful time. To start, they were accommodating in a last minute change of bringing our pup with us, and were able to put us in a dog friendly room on the second floor (all dog friendly rooms are on the 2nd floor smoking rooms). We arrived a little bit before 3 and were hoping to check in early - no dice and not a problem. We just hung around outside with our dog until 4, when we were told we could check in. At 4pm our room wasn't ready so we just continued to wait. We were finally able to check in at 5pm and the room was spacious. Actually it was probably larger than a standard room in a las vegas strip casino. Be aware - I think Monday's they offer players club discounts at the restaurant because at 6pm when we went to grab dinner, there was a 1hour 45minute wait to be seated at the buffet and a 1 hour and 30 minute wait at the pizza place. So pack your patience lol. The second day we tried the buffet again and that was actually pretty good. All I usually care about at buffets are the salad bars and their Ranch dressing was pretty damn good. I will agree with most other posters that it is a smaller buffet. But, it has the essentials so it made us happy. One thing I noticed was that most of the staff just went above and beyond to ensure you had a pleasant stay. Almost everyone was smiley and courteous. The Bartenders were friendly as were the casino staff. I never felt like I was being watched or treated differently because I was significantly younger than most of the crowd (at 30 we were on the younger end of the demographic). We only had one or two experiences with anyone who was less than enthusiastic to see us and honestly, after the fabulous treatment we received elsewhere in the hotel, it didn't make a difference. I will say, if you dine at the Red River Cafe, I hope you get Ran as your server. She is attentive, funny and a delight to talk to. I would definitely be bring back other friends and family and have been talking up the property since we got back. read more

We've stayed there for couples weekend deals, spa treatments, and their fantastic Steak House. The rooms are very clean and well appointed, the spa is serene like it's supposed to be. The stand out is that Steak House. The food is always perfect, the service is hands down the best and finest, and the ambiance is just sublime. If you want to feel special, these folks do it right - that's for sure! Treat yourself to some fun and special moments. You can't do better anywhere in Whatcom or Skagit County. I would recommend the Casino to anyone who enjoys that sort of thing. They have a really nice mix of things to do there for the gambler and non gambler alike. read more

The prior guest must have stuck several pieces of hair all over the wall that didn't get cleaned off. Super gross. The room was nice other than what I already noted. I did find it silly that free breakfast came with the room but if you wanted any sort of meat (bacon, sausage, ham) it cost you $2.95 per meat. Seemed kind of cheap of the hotel to not give you a free meat after paying $200 for a room and spending money on other food/drinks/gambling.. But overall a nice experience. read more

Best mini-doughnuts for $.99 with that sprinkled cinnamon you crave. Angel despite being under the harsh pressures of rabid casino goers, maintains a calm and collected demeanor. She directed me to the right place, The Barista, where I was met by Tanner, who made me the best Raspberry mocha latte I've ever tasted in my life. It's okay, a change of scenery from home in Vancouver.. The casino has done a pretty good job of masking the smoke. The buffet is good, not great. Ate there last Saturday and the food was pretty fresh at 11am (brunch) and they have a chef that will cook your omelette to order. The wait staff are a mixed bag. Locals told me about the prime rib buffet at this casino and the front desk clerk where I was staying at gave me a thumbs up for this buffet. Drove to the casino and went to the rewards desk and was informed that I didn't have to be a rewards member to dine there. Got to the hostess stand and saw a female there with a name tag on, J......a. She was writing on little paper tickets as I stood there in front of the stand. No one else was waiting in front of me. J.....a never looked at me as she kept writing on tickets and moving them around on the podium. Unless she has no peripheral vision, she should have seen me. After about a minute to minute and a half, she finally finished what she was doing, looked up at me, no nice greeting, no smile and just "Can I help you?". Said I was interested in the buffet and she responded by telling me it would be about 30 minutes, it was already 8:00pm on a Saturday night. Being the casino reeks of cigarette smoke, I declined and left. First impressions are important. Cannot recommend this place. read more

We have stayed here quite a few times and usually really like it. However this time they really fell short! The whirlpool had so much chlorine and chemicals that it burned our skin! We complained and they just added a little bit of no foam. When we check it in the AM it was no better. We usually always stay in an executive king and they are spacious but this one was dirty. Really sad as everyone you see working there is friendly but the services are really falling short. I hope this is not the new trend! I probably would have complained to management again upon check out if the gal would have even bothered to ask me how my stay was. read more

Took my husband here for his birthday. The room was amazing! Great bed and pillows, super comfy. Nice products in the bathroom and spa walk in shower to die for. I mostly go to this casino so my elderly mom can get out and have some fun. Today I sat next to my mother because the second seat next to her was right next to her with no partition. In the current climate we are in and her being older I try to a least stay as socially distant if possible. A gentleman came up to me and asked if I was playing. I said no but that I would like to try and practice social distancing and if he could come back after we were done. Mind you it a Wednesday evening and there is not a lot of people there and hundreds of other slot machines I'm sure he could past the time with. I end up putting in a couple of dollars and playing next to her so that other people would come up and literally ask me to move. I was soon approached my the security guard asking if I was playing cause the gentlemen wanted to play. I had money in the machine at the time but I took the chance to ask even if I wasn't playing does social distancing go out the door because this man wants to use this particular slot machine? After a back and forth. The security guards answer was "because we wear masks we don't socially distance." I could even believe what I was hearing. After a min he could tell he was upsetting my mom and saw that I in fact had money on the machine. So said there was no problem. I get that in normal times I would have gotten right up and let that man play. But the seat was so close it was almost a bench seat! It was clear that as the security guards understanding social distancing can go out the door if it means your not making money. My mom ended up being so upset we decided to go. But before I left I asked another gentleman in a suite that worked for this casino what there policy was about social distancing then explained the situation. He said that's a tricky question because we want to be making money on the machine. I said I understood but what about social distancing he went on to say we leave that up to the guest. So if social distancing was left up to me the guest? Why was there an issue!? So In the end they don't care. I get it your a casino all you care about is money. Who cares if someone gets covid. Funny though cause I felt so bad I took my mom down to that The Skagit Casino where apparently it is social distancing friendly. Partitions are up, the layout keeps you way from others or the machines that are close to each other has the screen off next to it. I wonder how they can manage but The silver reef can't? And in fact say who cares about your social distancing we need to make money of of this one upset man cause he didn't get the slot machine he wanted! read more

Nice hotel. But the thing I've noticed almost everywhere we've gone in it is how dirty it is. Not sure they own a vacuum or broom here. Pool area was pretty gross too. This place has top-notch service, the food is great and absolutely wonderful customer service. The restaurant area is pretty small and always packed, they need to expand it because people are always waiting to be seated. If you are a wine lover, they do have a wine connoisseur, very helpful especially if you are not sure which one to drink with you meal. My husband & i have players cards. Our cards probably only read in a handful of slots. Even if we show up before 7pm we never get bonus games/prize in the kiosk machine. And was told we cant use our free slot play after 7pm as well read more

We didn't even have a chance to lose our money there. Went to atm to take out funds, atm had strange message ( as in showed deduction yet didnt produce funds) we stood by patiently and waited for " the manger" to come by. Yes, he stopped by and treated us both like we were scumbags. I said I was taking a picture of his name tag and he threatened security on us. We're fine, our bank is fine in the end. We quickly exited, never to return and promise to share this with everyone that thinks of going there. read more
