Whenever I crave ramen, this is where I go! Located in downtown Burbank, there are several places to park and lots of shops to visit, including a walkable distance to the mall. Service is quick-perfect for a lunch break.

    The classic ramen

Came for for lunch on a weekday and it was empty which was nice. Service was super fast. I didn't expect much from a chain but this ramen was incredible. So flavorful and creamy. Usually not a big fan of creamier broths but this hit the spot. I WILL be coming back!

    Shoyu ramen (with tofu)

No matter how often we wind up in Burbank, my better half and I always walked right past Silverlake Ramen without a second thought. Finally on a cold day, my wife was craving some ramen so we gave it a shot. It's been open for a few years now (2022 if I'm not mistaken) and is right across from The Boiling Crab (between the AMC Burbank 16 and the GAP Factory store). You have to walk up stairs to be greeted, but they also have an elevator should anyone need it (handicap friendly is always a plus). There's seating inside, but we opted for the covered patio. My wife ordered the Shoyu ramen with tofu while I was adventurous and tried the Shoyu on Fire ramen (medium spicy level). We also had Fried Gyoza as an appetizer. Honestly all the food was pretty good. Fried Gyoza was crispy and piping hot. The ramen was good and very filling as they come in huge bowls. Be warned though - the medium spicy level is no joke! Talk about a sinus cleaner! Overall we liked Silverlake Ramen and wouldn't mind coming back if the mood strikes us again. The only downside is that service wasn't the greatest as they seemed to be more attentive to the customers inside than on the patio, so it was quite a while before we were checked up on.

This location was alright. Ramen was good like always. Sorry for the minus one star but the service was kind of snobby. Not quite sure, probably was having an off day. I'll stick to the silver lake location tho!

I've been going to the original Silverlake Ramen in my neighborhood of Silverlake for the last decade and more, and this was the first time trying a different location, now that they have expanded all over southern cal. Many people complain about the service here, but I did come at a slower time right before the dinner rush, and I have to say the service was amazing. We were seated right away, and from that point on, they checked on us every few minutes to make sure we were good. The Ramen is exactly the same. Amazing as always. I ordered the blaze Ramen combination with the pork bun appetizer. The pork bun is my favorite thing at SLR. It's so damn good. I could eat 14 of those. The ambience here has a micro brewery vibe, I guess because this building used to be a PizzaRev before.

Creamy Broccolini, Impossible Bun, Spicy Garlic Edamame, and Veggie Ramen all take out.

We were treated to lunch at work and since this restaurant is a chain, I'm not really sure which location our take out was ordered from, but I'm making my best guess that it was this one. Anyway, I basically ordered everything vegetarian that they had to offer: Impossible Bun, spicy garlic edamame, creamy broccolini, and veggie ramen. I was quite happy with all of it. At first I didn't like the broccolini because it just tasted burnt, but when I realized you're supposed to douse it with the cream that was packed separately, I actually liked it. I think my favorite, though, was the Impossible Bun because it had a soft bun, but the Impossible protein had a crispy coating, so it was a nice mix of soft and crispy. It was small, though, and more of a side. For the ramen, they packed the soup separate from the noodles and everything else, and there was one nori seaweed packed in its own sleeve. There were so many ingredients that it made for a hearty soup. It was my first time having spicy edamame as opposed to the regular kind and I think I'll have it spicy from now on since it was tastier and more interesting. It seems that this chain really is just in the L.A. area as of right now, but now that I know how good the food is, I'm more likely to keep an eye out and step into an actual restaurant myself.

I have been a fan of Silverlake Ramen for a while. The staff at Burbank have always been incredibly friendly and attentive. I haven't been able to stop in as much as I like to since I began my low carb journey. Although I miss noodles and rice. Today my wife and I decided to stop in before seeing a movie tonight. I wanted to get a bowl so I decided to ask if I could swap the rice for broccolini and I was informed the only substitute available was mixed greens. So I went with the large pork belly bowl my wife went with the small. The combination of the pickled onions , flavorful pork belly and fried jalapeño was perfect. I ended my dinner with a spicy chicken bun. The crispy chicken and soft bun were perfect and with a good heat. Thank you Silverlake for another great dinner!

Super yummy ramen! The menu is simple, yet comprehensive. They list the steps on ordering. I got the spicy ramen with the pork belly, medium spicy. Should have just gotten mild because my nose was running and my eyes were tearing up a little. Hate to think how hot spicy is. There were a bunch of fresh vegetables and the noodles were just right. Service was friendly and efficient. Not much ambience, but the restaurant was clean. I sat outside in the patio. I entered through the front doors downstairs, but there's also a small elevator. The restaurant seating is upstairs.

We were gonna go to Kopan originally but the wait time was long and we saw there was a silverlake ramen right over here with a shorter wait time so we came here! It feels like a pretty casual place to get ramen and the lighting is also much brighter (compared to kopan). In any case the wait time was much shorter, so it was more practical for us to come here, and the food came out fast! Service was friendly, welcoming, and quick! We had the classic and we also had the blaze (spicy). Both were really good! Both are brothy but I think the classic can feel at least a little lighter and not as strong! This place is a pretty good go-to! Best to find parking at the parking structure!

    Classic ramen with pork

Silver lake ramen is one of my favorite ramen spots! I love getting the classic ramen with pork but their garlic ramen is just as good! Every time I've gone the service has always been quick and the workers have always been so polite and friendly. When you first enter, you do have to go up the stairs to put your name down and the upstairs is where the dining takes place. Even on super busy nights, I've never had to wait too long but when it is busy, they do have you put your name down on the yelp wait list which is super helpful since you can check what place in line you're in. Highly recommend! It's super delicious especially on cold nights.

This place had some tasty appetizers and even though I stuck with just those, it served as a great introduction to the rest of the menu. I just didn't feel like having soup that day so I didn't order ramen (I know, I know. Please don't reprimand me). I did order a couple of appetizers to satiate my hunger though! They were SO good and left me with a craving for more. Fried broccolini - 10/10. I couldn't get enough of this appetizer tbh. The sauce the broccolini is paired with is AMAZING. I enjoyed it so much that I could've licked my plate clean had I not gone with a friend lol. Impossible bun - 8/10. Another delicious dish! My only slight grievance with this is that is was just a tad dry; I wish more of the sauce was added to it. Spicy garlic edamame -- 3/10. Incredibly underwhelming. The "spicy" sauce was lackluster. I wouldn't recommend this at all

2025/01/30 update: I had lunch there to try out their large Chicken Karaage Bowl, it was delicious, next time I'll order extra rice (+$2.50) with it. The servers were friendly and professional. The Dining area is nice and kept clean.

    classic ramen
    Rachael R.

Hi my name is Rachael and i'm obsessed with ramen. I crave it all the time and Silverlake ramen satisfies my craving. I go for lunch and get the classic ramen with a side of brocolli and a side of chili paste. I prefer to control the spice level of my ramen. I chop up the brocolli and add it to my rich creamy broth. This way i eat less noodles and more brocolli making it a little healthier (this is how i justify eating ramen ). The ramen is great and they get us in and out quickly for lunch

Can you buy only broth togo? Or are there gluten free noodle options?

I'm not sure about the broth but I do know they don't have a GF option. They were able to sub my husband's noodles for rice and it was delicious that way. They'll put it on the side.

We ordered the crunchy sushi roll, the spicy Totonsku and edamame . The food was delicious!!! We never been here before and didn't know what to expect . Edamame was warm and snappy . Crunch roll was on the bigger side, exactly what you expect of shrimp tempura and imitation crab . Lastly the soup , very very spicy . We asked the waitress for about 6-7 of spicy and I think we got like 9. I am not complaining I though, I think we needed the heat . We had to eat the soup with the edamame simultaneously: it was that hot . If you like spicy order the spicy tontonsku, and also order a Pinot Grigio to go with it. Best combination ever , the brightness of the wine would cool down my palate as a gulped the fire water from the soup . If you don't like spicy , make sure you tell them you want it less spicy . Overall : I'm intrigued and want to go back . I did not give it 5 starts because it was very quiet , there was no music ; we can hear the food being made in the kitchen. Which to me it's not a problem, but having some nice melodic tunes wouldn't hurt the ambience neither. Come to Tamashii House if you dare !

Susuru Ramen Bar is a real neighborhood spot for ramen, and worth the walk and the drive! The Chicken Karaage is the perfect blend of moist and crispiness, and didn't feel heavy or oily. Some places serve chicken karaage over-breaded or drenched in oil, but not Susuru! The Mayu Ramen is really where it's at though. This pork-broth base ramen with black garlic oil surprisingly uses egg noodles, so it's a richer, different taste that certainly stands out. At the same time, no singular taste overwhelms the rest of the dish, and everything from the seasoned soft boiled egg to the perfectly charred chiashu work together in one harmonious feast. This is one ramen bowl that is literally good to the last drop!

Saw the high reviews so had to check it out. Susuru Ramen Bar is located on the corner of Hollywood Blvd and N Kingsley Dr. The lot is small sharing spaces with other restaurants so your best bet is street parking, which can also be tricky especially later in the day. The restaurant is small, with the register counter as the first thing you see walking through the door. There's bar seating against the wall, and 2-3 tables for groups of maybe 4-6 people. The lady manning the front counter as well as taking orders and serving was fantastic. Very friendly and checked up on all tables through out the night. For ramen, my bf got the Tonkotsu ($1 extra for spicy), and I got the Mayu. I see why it has such high reviews, both were delicious. The roasted garlic oil was amazing and complimented the pork broth. The seasoned soft-boiled egg was our favorite part, not just lightly seasons either. It was sweet and savory with each bite, and the creaminess from the jammy yolk was fantastic. The charred cha siu slices had a slight sweetness too, and the fat through the slices gave it this wonderful melt in your mouth, mouth feel. The tonkostu spicy used the same broth just added the chili oil to it and gave it a good bite. The noodles had a nice chew to it. It was just the perfect bowl on a chilly May evening. Definitely worth checking out for a great bowl of ramen.
