I've been a loyal customer from the beginning of Silvio that started out across the street from the current location. I stopped in the beginning of September 2024,Mike was the cashier that checked me out, he first told me $35.00 for Italian hoagie, 2 rolls & a drink, it didn't sound right so I questioned him, now given a lower price so I asked him if that was the right price? I then received a third price. When I got home I realized he didn't give me my rolls so I called and mentioned it to him, instead of a apology and will take care of when I come again he's hollowing over the phone that he's not a thief nor a liar,and then puts me on hold for 10 minutes. I went back in and mentioned my credit, once again NO apology. He rings me out and doesn't credit me. Once again I received 2 different prices for my order . I asked another older guy, who's the owner, response was, depends who's asking & what he wants, are you kidding me??!! I'm told Mike is, which starts yelling at me to leave his store. The kid is a wise ass punk.and starts coming around the counter. What a tough guy and professional. It's sad after knowing the Silvio family after all those years. Beware! My belief is, he's not gonna make it there. Something is definitely wrong with that kid. Tough job too remember, one hoagie, fries a drink and 2 rolls. I remember this place from my childhood, and it hasn't changed a bit. I was recently there after a 20-year absence and to my eternal delight, the food was as good as I remember. Still the most delicious and affordable sandwiches around. You can't go wrong with the hot ham and cheese, though in truth I think every sandwich they serve is a home run. About 1 year ago every Friday I would get a Tuna Hoagie it was the best Tuna hoagie at a good price. My 5 Stars are simply based on their Italian hoagies. That's how good they are and the only thing I've ever had. There that good! I make it a point to visit at least once a year even thought they are over an hour from my home. What makes their hoagies great and the secret to all Philadelphia sandwich classics is the bread. They have great bread so I imagine their other offerings are also very good. One of these days I should try their cheese steak. The other key to getting a great hoagie is a place that slices a lot of deli meats and they do that with all the sandwiches they make. You are never going to get a good hoagie if they don't make a lot of them. No worries with Silvio's! In fact the first time I came here years ago, it was on a Saturday afternoon and I was luck to get the last roll. Had I been there a bit later I would have been out of luck. And it wasn't that late that day, maybe 1:30pm? Not sure if that's still the case but I now make sure I am there before noon time. The Philadelphia area as many good delis that make great hoagies. Silvio's is definitely one of them. And for me, they are worth a trek. I am sure you could find other good reasons to visit Hatboro but they alone are the one for me. read more

Been going here for yrs periodically and it's always good. The key is they make their own bread which makes the sandwich! Great roll, crunch on outside, soft in the middle and fresh. Had the cheesesteak with fried onions this time and I wish I ordered the bigger size. The cheese was all blended in nicely with the meat and the onions were tasteful. Loved it ! I didn't read the reviews prior to stopping in here today. I saw the girl making a cheese steak, but I didn't know that it was one of their best sellers. Instead I got an Italian hoagie with oil, vinegar, and hot peppers. It was a good hoagie. The rolls are baked on site. A really good tasting roll with a nice outer crust. The roll is a bit heavy though. The first thing that you spot when you walk in the door are the fresh made rolls and strombolis.... The inside of this place has an empty space type of feel, kind of like how most walk in bakeries have. A friendly staff and overall goof experience visiting this bakery/deli... Went to Silvio's for lunch after reading the reviews on here. Believe the hype about the bread. Everyone working there loves to talk about it, and rightly so. Its very good. Next time I will be more adventurous with my order, but I got a buffalo chicken cheesesteak because it was my first time at a new restaurant. It was a good steak, albeit a little dry. My biggest issue with Silvio's is that there is no seating! There are some tables outside but those were unusable due to the cold weather. In the summer this wouldn't be a problem. Just be ready for carryout if you are going in the winter. Was told to go in the morning because that is when the bread is the best. People there really love their bread. Someone used to have a slogan.. its all about the bread. Well they must hvae been talking about Silvio's. Their rolls are wonderful. I just tried an italian hoagie and it was very good. They use Dietz and Watson meats, so they are not going to wow you with ingredients, but the crusty roll and the well put together sandwich is a treat. One of the better hoagies in the area. They have been around 30 years and I hope they are around another 30 And with regard to the parking. They clearly mark their parking lot for customer, since they own it and it can get crowded. What can I say. These guys performed above and beyond the call of duty. I asked if they could help me feed 250 people for a rock and roll jam and boy did they deliver.
