Silvio's are known in the area for their fresh baked rolls. I've been coming to this deli for years when I'm looking for the perfect hoagie roll or when guests are visiting from out of town. The past three visits I have been given old crumbling rolls. I'm not sure exactly what has changed over the past year but I'll no longer be making the special trip to Silvio's anymore. I grew up in Hatboro but live in New York City now. Whenever the topic of best sandwich comes up (it comes up a lot-I'm a freak for food), my answer is always Silvio's. There is no thinking involved, just immediately saying Silvio's, and then berating the person who asked for never having a Silvio's HOAGIE (don't call it a sub you dummy), even though they are from someplace like Missouri. I love this Deli. I get my lunch from here from time to time. The portions are generous compared to the price. Their hot subs are really good. They have different soups on different days and I have yet to try a soup that wasn't good. My favorite is their Italian wedding! read more

Really good bread made there. They also sell Italian loves and at holidays they offer holiday bread which is amazing. It is a sweet bread with icing. You can luck into a loaf once in a while but best to order ahead of time. My husband and I enjoy there cheese steaks and ham and cheese hoagies. There Stromboli's are also really good. read more

I can't even describe how amazing their cheesesteaks are! They bake their own bread each day.....rolls are awesome. I just moved back to the area, and their cheesesteaks just can't be beat. Silvio's is the only sandwich shop I know of that makes their own bread in house. Even Sarcone's on 9th makes it down the street. This bread is made 20 feet from where your sandwich is constructed. I love the sassy ladies that work at Silvio's, and the customers are always nice to chat with while waiting for your epic sandwich. The other reviewers are right, it is all about the bread. And just about anything you put on those fresh and toasty rolls is going to be out of this world. I love a great egg sandwich, and their ham, egg and cheese is amazing. Their cheese steaks are excellent as well. The only thing I have had that I would not recommend was the pepperoni stromboli. Awesome hoagie and sandwiches. They are huge. Way better than wawa across the street. Prices are good. Only downside is parking. Can be tricky at peak times. Tip: call ahead. Go to wawa, park and Order a frozen drink, pay for it. While you're waiting for the drink, pick up at Silvio ' s. Then get drink. I've had to do it. Silvo's is the place I can buy for their best cheesesteaks which I usually recommend to my out-of-town friends to buy to make their trips memorable. What a fabulous place to get good solid food. Silvio's has awesome Stromboli in a large variety of sizes. As a bigger man I do appreciate the larger size Stromboli's. Each one is packed with delicious meats and cheeses. The convenience of being able to call in my order and have it hot and ready for pick up is a major plus. The only thing I can say bad about Silvio's is the limited parking space. But knowing the high traffic times makes the experience worth the hassle. I placed an order for 3 small hoagies at 11:28 am on a Thursday for pickup and was told my order would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived at 11:55 am to pick it up and was told they were "working on it." I counted at least 10 people who came in after I arrived and placed orders who had them made and left before my food was given to me - at 12:20 pm - 52 minutes after I placed my order. When I inquired about my order I overheard staff saying "she'll get it when she gets it." Terrible service I will not be going back. read more

I've been a customer of Silvio's for the last 20 years. I had a terrible experience this evening as I ordered a Stromboli at 10:20 AM. I was told one would be put aside. I called at 5:30 PM to ask what time they were open till and also inform them I was coming down to pick up the Stromboli I ordered in the morning. I arrived at 5:45 being respectful to make sure that I did not arrive right before closing. When I did arrive I found out my Stromboli I ordered was given to someone else . I showed the clerk at the counter my phone and what time I called to inform her my food was ordered. She offered to make me a sandwich. I said "that's very nice what are you going to charge me for it ,"she said of course. Bad move. I called back after leaving without my order. The employee explained that she was the one that spoke to me while I was in trying to get my order. I asked for Steve, I've known Steve for years as he was an excellent owner/manager. I found out that he sold it to someone else. The last time I was in I asked him how he was and he looked stressed out. Now I know why he told me the business is taking a toll i'm sure because of people like Sam that I dealt with to get my food this evening . I expressed I went out of my way to travel all the way down from work for my dinner passing Home on the way. One would expect after ordering something at 10:20 AM and calling 30 minutes before closing. They would have offered something as a courtesy in the future, No! I told Samantha I'd like a phone call from the owner, it's been two weeks and no phone call I guess they don't care. Bring back Steve!! Good food, poor management and employees. There there is a Woman that usually operates the grill during lunchtime and she is always been great. She's been there at least 20 years. She's exempt from all of this issue. I will miss her. I don't normally post negative reviews online but the fact the owner didn't call me is the reason why I'm here. Silvio's deli,LOL it's your loss, a seven dollar Stromboli just cost you A lifelong customer, and I will never mention a breath about your location as I have in the past to others. I looked up Sandwich Shop Hatboro, and Silvio's was first on the list. I called and was greeted by a very friendly voice who told me the cheese steaks and roast beef look great today. I ordered a pizza steak with fried onions. When I arrived, I was met with a smile and the sandwich was ready. WOW, I just opened the wrapper and there is a delicious amalgamation of meat, onions, cheese and sauce, tightly held inside a HOMEMADE torpedo roll. The Italian is great. I guess for the price I can forego the prosciutto, but it's still great What makes it great? Fresher and tastier rolls than the Amoroso roll, and the always pleasant Mrs. Silvio. I just love chatting with her. Until Primo's franchises starting popping up all over, Silvio's was THE place for hoagies. The bread's the thing (in my humble opinion) when it comes to good hoagies. Sure, you need quality meats, cheeses and other fixin's, but if the bread ain't good, it really doesn't matter what's inside. Silvio's bakes their own bread, and it's different in taste and texture from what Primo's offers. It's simply delicious and works well with their steak offerings too. I also love their homemade tomatoe pie. Sometimes I just pop in at lunch and get a slice of that and I'm in heaven. My only complaint about Silvio's is not enough hours - why not stay open later on Saturdays (they close at 4pm) and Friday night (I think they close at 6 or 7 pm)? Sunday hours would be nice too - we crave Silvio's when watching an Eagles game on a Sunday afternoon, and buying your sandwich the day before doesn't cut it when it comes to hoagies and steaks. read more
