This is a classy place with a great family atmosphere - this is as close as it gets to sitting down with my own Italian family. IMO this is the best Italian Food in the city of Louisville. The rice balls, antipasto and chicken Parmesan my family I had was wonderful. The chicken Parmesan (which is made to order) came out perfectly crispy and the antipasto that was drizzled with "Nana's dressing" still have my mouth watering. I knew that this place was run by real Italians when they called their red sauce, which was excellent, "Gravy." Top all of that off with some freshly shredded Parmesan like my Grandfather used to do at our family dinners, and I was ready for a nap! We were there Saturday night. By far the best dining out experience I've had in a while. The food was to die for and the service was amazing at the least! We sat next to the window and it made it feel that much cozier. I've worked in the industry for quite a while and I will have to say that next to the food the second most appealing thing was how their servers worked together. You never saw the servers standing around. They were always helping each other and I know I heard the girls ask each other several times if they needed anything. This is what makes a restaurant special. Not too often do you see servers work together anymore. Great food with even better service! Then, after all of this, the couple next to us got their bill but hey hadn't deducted the $200 prepaid deposit. A different bartender tried to convince them that the $200 had been netted out but they weren't having it. Finally Mo came to the rescue again and got them a new bill that clearly deducted the deposit. We quickly asked him to get our bill as well since we knew he would make sure ours was corrected too. Makes me wonder how many other patrons didn't catch this mistake and ended up giving the restaurant another $100 per person. But I'll start with Jessica, the perfect waitress. Not only did she know the menu thoroughly and the service went flawlessly and perfectly timed, her amiable demeanor led to real but brief conversation, not just the typical waiter/customer pleasantries. We talked about the storm (she loves to play soccer in the rain, my vacation so far, and ChatGPT. Yes, I used it to choose between two entrees and we joked about its odd responses and the mistakes it can make. (In the end I went against both ChatGPT's and her advice but was happy with my choice.) Food started with a complimentary small piece of bruschetta. Garlicky and parsley-y. Yum. Free bread was also provided with the meal: a mini baguette. I didn't eat the bread but asked to take it home as I was camping and out of bread. When I opened the bag later I was thrilled to see that a second loaf was added! The portion was an adequate 3 pieces and knowing there was an entree and dessert coming I took one home. Even the take-away packing was done expertly, in an attractive black paper box and a foil liner inside. My entree was "Pecan-Encrusted Walu Hawaiian Butterfish. Sweet potato-sage risotto, Tuscan kale, bourbon apple butter." Very good and the portion was just right. I liked the pecan crust, not overwhelming the mildly flavored, oily fish. The risotto was too creamy for me (some like it that way), but I really liked the sweetness and sage flavor and finished it. The kale was fried crispy, an interesting touch. This was all served on a flat slate plate, attractively presented with the bourbon apple butter sauce and some micro greens. No pretentious "chef knows best" attitude here. Salt and pepper grinders available at the table for those who wanted them (like me). I had two cocktails from the interesting selection. Barolo Manhattan had Old Forester bourbon, Cocchi Barolo Chinato (an aged Italian bitter), sweet vermouth, dark cherry juice, and cherry bitters. But also ice cream, a small scoop for $2 and a large for $4. Very reasonable. There's always room for ice cream, right? Jessica didn't remember the flavors and was going to check but I asked her to surprise me - just as long as it's not vanilla. She brought blackberry lavender. A very interesting flavor but the texture was off, a little grainy. A trivial flaw. The ambience of the place couldn't be better. White tablecloths, fresh flowers and a candle on the table, widely spaced tables and moderate noise, a gentle waterfall comprising an entire wall. And when a birthday was celebrated (my neighbor and also another table across the room) it was done tastefully with the waiter quietly arriving with a candled cake and a jazzy instrumental Happy Birthday from the band. None of the stupid chants from the entire waitstaff found in many places these days, more appropriate for Marine bootcamp than a restaurant. The band, a guitar/bass duo, was so nice to listen to. Old jazz instrumentals mostly. I could have stayed all night. In fact I did, waiting until they stopped around 9:00 before leaving, feeling no pressure to vacate. I tipped them well, and not just because they made a valiant attempt at my request for "Poinciana" which they warned me they hadn't played in years. I took my son on a date and we fancied up. He pulled out chairs for me and ordered our drinks. He was 15. He talked to the waiter about his steak and what the different toppings meant and talked planes with our food neighbor as he wants to be a pilot. That's what this place offers. Community. The food was also stellar, we had creme brulee for dessert both our favorites and my son left a little older, a little more mature. He left with confidence. It was a great experience.

Sitting at the bar tonight, on a Wednesday, was very pleasant. The bar stools are quite comfortable. And tonight the doors to the outside patio were open; so it was sort of like sitting both inside and outside. Gerald, bartender extraordinaire, was amazing as usual. He is super attentive, knows how to properly make cocktails, and has one of the best personalities you would ever want for a bartender. If I were to ever open a bar or restaurant, I would try to steal him from Uptown. My husband and I had the $5 Whisky Wednesday bourbon to start (this alternates weekly, tonight was Buffalo Trace). Then we had our usual house salads, which are truly delicious. Probably the best salads on Bardstown Road or maybe even all of Louisville. The beer is always very cold. The service is quick and friendly. Bathrooms are clean and private. Not sure what I would change about the place except maybe less air conditioning sometimes. If you haven't been (or haven't been for a while), go check it out.

I love pizza so I ordered a med veggie pizza and added pepperoni (17.00 + 4.00 for pepperoni). BFF ordered the chicken portobello which was served over a bed of fettucini. Both the pizza and pasta were excellent. My eyes were bigger than my tummy as I only ate 2 slices of pizza and took the rest back to the hotel. Our server was very attentive and provided excellent service. The only thing I did not care for was there was a 1.93 diff between the cash price and the card price and I hate when businesses charge that cause you know they're still making money as they are charging more than what the service is charging them for the point of service. Unfortunately/fortunately, I just deducted that amount from the server's tip.

Warm, knowledgeable of the menu and quick with accurate answers to questions. She also provided quick, accurate and friendly service. We ordered the spinach dip and chips appetizer for the table. It was fine, but not super flavorful. I'd say it was just ok. The chips were quite good. Bread and marinara was brought to the table. It was warm, fresh tasting and flavorful. We enjoyed it. I ordered a side garden salad with ranch and the shrimp casserole. The server made a point to let me know there was pasta in the casserole which I thought was nice. I wish she had reminded me there was Italian sausage in it. I'm not a fan of Italian sausage in anything. There was nothing wrong with it, I just don't like it. I ate around it. The shrimp, pasta, broccoli and cheesy cream sauce in the dish were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Very tasty. My salad was pretty good. The blue cheese dressing was delicious. My husband got the sampler and I tried a bite of his lasagna and it was delicious. Our daughter ordered shrimp diavolo. She enjoyed it and there was enough for her to bring a big portion home. My parents got the fettuccine Alfredo as they always do and enjoyed it as much as ever. We ordered some desserts and coffee so that we could linger awhile to hear the live music. Jeff Rehmet is a great entertainer. His beautiful playing and witty banter added a lot to our Mother's Day celebration. He took some requests which was nice. Our desserts were very good. Between us we got tiramisu, lava cake, cheesecake and biscotti ice cream. Everyone loved their desserts and ate every bite. My only complaint was that my coffee was not hot. It was lukewarm. That was a bit disappointing as it was chilly in the restaurant. Still tasted ok and not enough of a big deal to take the shine off of a wonderful evening and meal with family. My parents picked up the tab so I'm not sure about the bill. Tuscany is not cheap but not outrageous. Prices are fair for the quality and amount of food. All in all we had a great experience. We will always return to Tuscany.

There is a small bar area and an area of table seating. Outdoor seating is available as well. The bistro is known for one of its appetizer small plates of deviled eggs. The owner said that the recipe for the eggs is one of the few things he is not wiling to share! Employees and patrons have drawn pictures of deviled eggs that are displayed on a wall space. I opted for the grilled chicken Greek salad. Greek salad is a favorite of mine and I have eaten it from numerous restaurants. By far, this was the best I have ever had. The artful presentation, fresh ingredients, and decadent flavors were a real treat. The chicken was so tender and again, the flavor bloomed in my mouth. The owner brought out a small serving of homemade peach ice cream that had been made the day before with fresh peaches. I simply have no words for how delicious it was. I will let my husband describe his experience in his yelp account, but I will say that after having salmon the night before at an 'upscale' restaurant in Louisville, he commented that the salmon at this bistro "blew it away!" People often say "I will return and try other menu options," when in fact they do not follow through. That will not be the case with us, we both agree that we cannot wait to return!

His blended knowledge in these areas contributes to exquisite dishes. My wife had an exceptional Greek salad w/ chicken while I opted for a mixed green salad with grilled salmon; easily the finest piece of fish I have eaten in Louisville. It was grilled to perfection with a spice mixture of his own creation which he would not divulge! At the end of the meal we were severed a sample of his homemade peach ice cream. If you prescribe to the old adage that eating out is about the food not the upscale expensive vibe than this place is it! We will be back again soon!
