Ordered dinner along w/my three other friends and when dinner came they presented me with something I did not order! Thinking it was a simple mistake, I told the waiter and he took it away. He came back telling me there were out of the special I ordered so they tried to slip this in instead!!! So there I sat no food in front of me while my three other friends had food to eat. It was awkward for all of us and I was hungry. The management did NOTHING to ameliorate the situation. The audacity!! They should have comped drinks, or ordered dessert or adjusted the bill, but they did nothing!! I sat there without a dinner and management did NOTHING. The manager was useless. This is the restaurant that has turned me on to my obsession to Penn a la Vodka. Back in the day - about 18 years ago (man that make me sound real old) I came here with my parents for dinner. Now, I was 10 at the time, so all I wanted was macaroni and cheese, so the waitress suggested that I try Penne ala Vodka. One bite and I was hooked! Now, whenever I come here that is all I can get. WOW, The food here was so fantastic that I can't wait to go back. The pizza is thin and sooo delicious and their salads and entree selction were so fresh and full of flavor that the four of us ended up sharing with eachother. The prices were reasonable and we had great service. Our only complaint was the dessert. We ordered it to go and when we got home they were all absolutely AWFUL!!!. What a waste of money. They were dry and the portion size was different.(one piece of the cake was a little edge slice with pasty dry icing yuck} I will go back for the food but we will NOT order their desserts. This was our first time here & would definitely go back. We went to celebrate my moms 70th birthday. We were seated right away.. it was a Sunday night & it wasn't busy. Our waiter was very attentive. All the food was amazing & they even surprised my mom with singing happy birthday. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The sign to turn into the restaurant is small so drive slow because it's easy to miss. I can't wait to go back when it's warmer outside... they have a cute seating area outside. Made reservations for our 44th wedding anniversary because reservations are recommended. We were told the occasion would be noted on the reservation so we assumed special accommodation would be provided, wrong. We were never asked about our reservations we were directed to a table in the center of the courtyard without an umbrella on a day rain was expected. My wife asked for a table in a gazebo and was told that it was for a party of four yet they led us to a table set up for four WTF. They finally relented and have us the gazebo. Soon we were giving drinks and bread that was the last time a waitress attended our table. After about 10 min another waitress asked us how everything was (We hadn't had our order taken yet). I decided that was it we paid for 2 drinks (1corona, 1 martini) they charged my wife $20 and we left. Our daughter gave us a $75 gift certificate thinking we would like the menu. I will not be going back and would tell people, don't be fooled by the facade it is not what it may appear to be. After a few drink everything appears rosy. I will return the gift certificate to our daughter and thank them for the thought. This was suppose to be a special night but was all but ruined by absolute confusion on the part of this overrated establishment. We went to The Blarney Station and had a wonderful dinner with pleasant staff. In closing, don't let the facade fool you. Dined at Silvio's with our family, actually a party of 12. We were treated so well from the time we checked in to the time of check out. Joe was our waiter and was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. My husband was between two parpadelle dishes and Joe steered him towards the Parpadelle bolognese and was so happy he took his advice because was simply delicious! I had the pesto gnocchi and was so delicious with pine nuts and grape tomatoes. It was such a large portion I had to take the rest home. The salmon special was prepared and cooked to perfection according to my foodie cousin. The veal dish was very tender and tasty. The penne ala vodka was one of the best we had and my 10 year old ate ever last bite. We didn't stay for dessert but next time will give it a try. read more

Had xmas eve dinner here last night. Family of 10. We were looking forward to a night without cooking/cleaning & an enjoyable meal and evening. Not so much , unfortunately. Was very disappointed. Tables had big #'s sticking up off them.... very tacky! We were seated directly in front of roaring hot fireplace , with a overly large flat screen tv that had football and then UFC fighting on. Thats just what u want to do on xmas eve with family in a big dining room , is watch sweaty guys beating eachother to a bloody pulp. Very nice. I was very disturbed by this! If they say it was for the bar behind us , that not a single person sat at all evening, then the owners need to seriously re-examine their clientele. We sent back my daughters Pasta Alfredo . I have no idea what it was , but it wasn't Alfredo. A very simple dish to master. The rest of our meals were just very mediocre. I will say the house and outside was beautifully decorated for the holiday. Other then that everything was very disappointing and all the food lacked culinary talent. Went with a party of 11 after an afternoon at Warwick Valley Winery. The atmosphere outside was great and I loved the outdoor experience. the waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We asked about the calamari and clams being frozen and if the calamari came with the tentacles (a good sign that it's fresh). The waiter insisted that everything was fresh so we ordered. The calamari was all uniform ally cut and was only rings, no tentacles. The calamari was mealy and fell apart in your mouth in an unpleasant way, it was frozen. So we're the clams, mealy, no flavor, etc. we the ordered the chicken with shrimp in port sauce, veal park, chicken parm and chicken fingers for the kids. The veal parm was gray and very oversalted, the pasta served alongside was mushy and the sauce watery. The chicken parm was nearly inedible except for the blanket of cheese disguising it's awful appearance. The chicken, shrimp in the port sauce was poor as well. The sauce was good. The shrimp was mealy and the chickn over cooked. Me, who recommended the restaurant didn't even get my meal because the kitchen read our ticket wrong. When we returned 3 out of the 5 entrees ordered, the manager came out. When we cited the poor food and the frozen calamari, she said "we have no frozen fish, do you know how many orders of fried calamari I sold today" I told her I didn't care, I just cared about the one she sold me. I had read mixed reviews of Silvio's but after some Googling and watching the videos on You Tube about how its haunted I just had to check it out. It's Halloween night (tonight) and I met two MeetUp friends there for dinner before the annual Halloween party that they host. The layout of this old house is hard to navigate but every room was so warm and comfortable. It was well decorated, ambiance being romantic. It had a certain creepiness about it which was kind of cool (I love the paranormal stuff). Our waitress was very sweet and fit right in with our little all-girl group. Now, the food. First they brought out bread and bruschetta on toast. Then they brought out our red wine which was very good. I got their Chicken Verona with a side of penne with marinara. The arrangement of the chicken was a little different having potato wedges instead of a potato but the rest of the dish was gorgeous: lightly sautéed chicken breast (and it wasn't very big but it was pounded thin just right) with this DELICIOUS white wine sauce with al dente asparagus spears on top with artichokes. SO GOOD I ATE EVERY BITE. The plate had carrots and squash on the side which were perfect for me. My friend also had the same plate and raved how good it was. The pasta side I had with the marinara sauce was the best I've had in a very long time; you could tell it was homemade. Alicia had the penne ala vodka with shrimp. She said it was the best she ever had. Both of my friends had coffee after dinner and Alicia had the crème Brule. She smiled the whole time eating it. The whole bill was only $103 for the three of us which seems like a lot but we had such a nice time and everything was so delicious. The only complaint I have is the potato wedges and we had to ask for our waitress to come get out payment (15-20 minutes). We didn't see any ghosts or anything weird going on nor did we stay for the costume party except for Karen - she stayed. I would go back but you need to expect to spend at minimum $20 per person without alcohol and dessert and tip and $30-40 with alcohol and/or dessert. We tipped $25 even on a $103 bill. I went to Silvios Italian Villa for my birthday with 3 other people.My friend tried to order blackened salmon and the waiter said they ran out of the ingredients so it was not available at this time. Then they presented me and another person in my party with something we did not order.They took both orders back and said it was a mistake..So we sat there watching our other friends eat and finally got our food just about when our other 2 friends were finished eating.The Management did nothing to compensate us for their mistake!Very unprofessional! read more

My wife took me here for my birthday surprise dinner and pleasantly surprise we both are, having a great dinner. We were greeted by Mike the perfect waiter, and were seated in a beautiful room. Let me say the restaurant is in a restored old colonial, open, large or private tables if you wish. The food was a "10"!! My Seafood Genovese, with a large half lobster tail, tons of large perfect scallops, and mushrooms in a tasty scampi sauce over linguine was absolutely one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. I might add it was a good size portion for less than $20 bucks! My wife raved about her dish. Our bill for two dinners, two drinks, coffee and an 18% tip was just under $63.00. The menu has something for everyone. Go there! Try it! You will find it special and a hidden secret. Well a secret until their outdoor patio opens with the good weather. My wife I had dinner there on a recent Friday night. Service was awful and the food cold. I recommend to drive by this place. We decided to sit outside using their patio. Their staff seemed more interested in talking with each other is what I noticed first, instead of service for a paying customer. The wait staff also tended to hide inside the main house. I did not notice any experienced wait staff. We were greeted at our table with rock hard bread that was very dry. They added a dish the contained butter that seemed to be frozen. We both joked at this point that we hoped this was not what we would get for the main course. For apps, we went with mussels marinara & mozzarella in corrozza. The mussels were okay at best. The dish arrived warm but their was a red sauce that must be a family recipe that has been lost over the years. Only way to describe it is okay at best. The Mozzarella was nothing special either. Most likely frozen and not fresh. At this point service went down hill. I had to get the attention of another service person and request drinks. This took around 15 minutes. We waited another 40 minutes for the main course. My wife and I were surprised to see 2 other tables that arrived after us get their main course of dinner prior to us. I got the attention of a different server and asked her what was going on and pointed out that we ordered before the other 2 tables. I was informed our dinner was on the way out. Really.... At this point I realized that our first server was in no shape to work in this profession for his lack of detail and follow-up with tables.This guy was not going to get any tip from me tonight. When our main course arrived, it was dropped on the table. I noticed how cool the plates were when I touched them. My wife ordered the homemade cheese ravioli and I ordered the fillet. My wife took a bite and almost gagged. I did not even think about eating anything they sent to the table. We proceeded to send it back and request the check. How could they send out cold food, I was wondering. We got the speech of we are sorry. We can heat it up 2 minutes. I figured they would use a microwave. I informed no, just send give us the check for the apps and drinks. I have been to numerous Italian restaurants across the country and this place is a confirmed drive by location. Came here on a Friday night in October. The atmosphere is beautiful, definitely carrying that haunted feeling of being in an old house from the civil war era.. The bill was pretty hefty, drinks are overpriced and ok at best. The food was definitely above average, nice portions and definitely left full. We were at a wedding that they catered. The wedding had severe dietary restrictions (kosher) but this did not phase them in the least. The food was excellent but what impressed me the most was the personalized service with an senior person (may have been an owner) supervising and she certainly was concerned and on top of everything that was going on. There was an abundance of staff present (young, attentive and remarkably pleasant) who served, cleaned and in general took care of the needs of the nearly 200 people present. This is a first class outfit that obviously takes their work seriously. I would recommend them highly for catering services. Interestingly despite the dietary restrictions the food was varied, interesting and extremely tasty. Have not eaten at their restaurant but will try to go there on our next trip to this area. The staff accommodated my wife's request to customize their crab cake appetizer to a beautifully-looking entree with creative touches. The Chicken Venus was also customized and delicious. Went to Silvio's for the first time on Friday, 6/8/12. Had not heard anything about this restaurant but decided to give it a try as I read they had an outdoor dining area and it was a nice day, so gave it a whirl. From the moment we entered we were very well attended to. We had 5 different people, all nicer than the next, wait on us. We were the only people dining outside at the time and it would have been very easy to be forgotten, but no way. We were constantly being checked on to see if we needed anything. The outdoor space is very pretty and as it started getting dark, the fireplace was lit and made me sad to leave. The food was delicious! I asked the waiter for his suggestion which he gladly and pleasantly gave and he was right on the money. My husband ordered a steak which was also recommended by the friendly waiter, and he loved it, which is no small feat since he is rather picky. I had a pasta dish that was very different from anything I had ever had before, pieces of filet mignon in fettucine, it was very delicious. The salads, both the ceaser and the Silvio salad were perfect, just the right amount of dressing. We finished off with a lemon dessert, another one of the waiters' suggestions, that was just the right size and really refreshing.
