My cousin and I went to this place based off the reviews. Simi Thai did not disappoint! We split Pad Thai and Pad See Ew and they were both fantastic. The Pad See Ew was by far the best I have ever had. The Pad Thai was also delicious. Both dishes were traditional, but they tasted better than other Thai places. I have to agree with the rest of the reviews about the owner. The food is enough to want to come back, but the owner is an added bonus. She is SO nice and the overall service is great. Pricing was cheap. For both dishes and 3 thai ice teas, the total was $25 (not including tip). I love to support this business and will certainly be returning any time I am in Simi. Also, there is plenty of parking. I parked directly in front of the restaurant. As a note, the place is really hard to find. It's on Tapo in the shopping center directly behind McDonald's. There is a gym on the other side of the street (24 hr I think). The Simi Thai sign is kinda small, so you really have to look for it. There is another Thai place in the same shopping center that is more visible so make sure to go to the correct one. It's certainly worth it. Another one of Simi's hidden gem. Proof that you don't have to drive to Hollywood for good Thai food. The owner is super sweet and calls everyone "honey" - I find her super adorable! The menu is simple offering you all the best, signature dishes. Their crab cheese wontons here are AMAZING! SO GOOD! First off they were pan fried to order, so it was fresh, hot, and perfectly crispy! The stuffing was fat, whole pieces of crab mixed with the perfect amount of cream cheese. Normally they're minced crab and too cheesy where it just oozes onto your plate instead of your mouth. There's 6 on a plate, but after eating 3, I was already feeling a lil stuffed. We got the Panang Curry - it was mildly spicy, which I like, the sauce was creamy, not too soupy. The infamous Pad Thai - which I find to be always delightful in every Thai restaurant. Everything was cooked to order, so it was all fresh. You can hear the lady cookin away in the kitchen. Fun, fast, delicious food! You can call ahead and pick up your order, or they can deliver too! I've been deprived of Thai explorations in the past couple of years, even though it's one of my favorite cuisines because my boyfriend always claimed he didn't like Thai food. Then suddenly, after his roommate's dragged him to this little place, hes come around. So Sunday, it was his turn to decide what to eat, and he suggested Thai, so I jumped on the chance. Now this place is tiny, a big one room hole in the wall, with kitschy 'Thai decorations' and a small fish tank with ginormous gold fishes. There's a TV in one corner and that's it. The woman, who I assume is the owner is one of the most friendly and welcoming people I've ever met. Everyone who comes in is 'honey" or "darling", in fact I'm not kidding you she ends every sentence with the endearment 'honey'. Anyway I ordered my Thai staples, I have a hard time straying from them since I love them so much. First I got a bowl Tom Kha Kai soup. Sometimes it's called Tom Kha Gai soup. Is it more Lao then Thai, I can't figure it out? Every place seems to be different. But almost all are made with coconut milk, galangal, lemon grass, and chicken. This version was on the money, but I've had better. We also got a plate of chicken satay, another favorite, and that didn't disappoint either, I've definitely encountered terrible peanut sauces, but this place had a good version. My boyfriend got some weird curry that I didn't really like, and we also got steamed dumplings which I thought could have been more exciting. The prices are definitely less then the LA area Thai places I've been to. I'd say our meal of $30 was reasonable however, considering this wasn't even close to being bad food (I've had some terrible Thai) Plus the owner was so welcoming and friendly, and our food came really fast. Ms. B is the best. She is THE sweetest person I know. She used to be a teacher in Thailand. She goes out of her way to be extra kind. I was ordering THE most delicious Pad Thai, Orange Chicken, Simi House salad, and Thai Iced tea via delivery from Simi Thai Cuisine for five years before I realized where the actual building was located! I'd like to go one day in person, but I love the mystery of not ever having seen her! lol To they guy who thought he was owed change from a $20 on a $16 order ... you DO realize that we tip 20% in this country and the waiter at the restaurant doesn't have to drive his car through traffic, use up his gas, or walk up stairs....So, on a $16 order, that is a $3.20 tip. I got turned onto this place when having dinner with a friend of a friend. He said he comes to Simi Valley just to go to this place. I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. The location is way back off the street in a little strip mall, not so easy to find. Don't confuse it with the "Thai Cottage," which is in the same shopping center and right along the main boulevard. It's a tiny little place with 5-6 tables and plain stated décor. My group ordered the Panang, the Pad Thai and the Barbeque Pork Fried Rice. The fried rice was good, but the Panang and the Pad Thai were standouts. A couple of us were apprehensive of our order because we were not big fans of curry, but the Panang (with curry and coconut milk) was phenomenal. There were tons of flavors, nice spice, and a little heat. The Pad Thai was nearly as good. (they deserve it) And yes, the food is sexcellent and the staff is even more sexcellent (meaning, they're just epic sweethearts) After reading reviews about a lady whose a vocabulary mainly consists of the word "honey," weeeyelp, y'all were right! She's sweeter than honey as a matter of fact. We just split a small tom yum soup.. And it was 69x better than that watery crap at the other Thai restaurant around the corner. For sure the best thai place in Simi, and among the best I've had. Nothing fancy about the restaurant itself, or the menu items--pretty standard thai--small dining room, TV over the cash register, no real decor or theme, but homey and never loud. Pair that with quick, efficient service for takeout and dine in, fresh-tasting produce and meat, and accurately executed spice levels on the food and you have a winner. I usually get the pad thai with tofu (not overly mushy or flavorless) or chicken and spicy fried rice (always a level 3 or 4, never unbearably spicy). I've never been disappointed. I've also had the yellow curry, the larb, the papaya salad..probably a little taste of most of the classics, and also, never disappointed and often pleasantly surprised. This is always my go-to when I want something flavorful but reliable locally and I can't see that changing anytime soon! read more

We enjoyed delivery from here tonight -- I do have to say that we will never be doing delivery with them again since it took them an hour and a half to get the food delivered after we were told it would just take 15 minutes before it would be on it's way! We were very disappointed in that and nervous that our food would be cold. But it was steaming hot and fresh. Not sure why 1.5 hours, but we were happy with the food once it arrived. The Panang curry was AMAZING, creamy and flavorful (only about 8 pieces of meat though so beware if you are sharing because for us it wasnt enough). We also enjoyed the satay with peanut sauce and the BBQ ribs. Just a forewarning that if you order delivery, ask for rice on the side! It does not come with... our usual Thai place includes rice so we didnt think to ask for some. Thank goodness we had some frozen to quickly heat up! First off, this place is hard to find. You can't see it from Tapo St. - you have to pull into the back parking lot BEHIND the McDonald's and then drive to the very back of that back parking lot (not sure if this makes any sense), and you will find the restaurant right next to Penny Pinchers. I called in an order, and was met with the "Honey" lady. She let me know that they are super backed up and took my number to call me back. Some may say this is bad customer service, but she was friendly about it, AND called back in 2 minutes, remembered my name and was ready to take my order. I took no issue with this. The Pad See Ew was great - perfect ratio of chicken and broccoli to noodles, and the noodles weren't mushy, which is usually my biggest complaint at Thai places. The fried rice had cilantro, lemon and pepper which was unique and tasty. The egg rolls weren't cigar shaped like most places, but instead were short, fat and full of vegetables. My only complaint is that I was given a spork for take-out. Not a big deal for rice, but difficult for noodles. However, I think there must be some strategic reasoning behind the utensil choice because it helped me to not inhale it completely, and still have some left over for lunch tomorrow. I kept picking away at the take out plate, and still didn't see the bottom of it by the time I was full. We have tried the other Thai places in Simi, and I would definitely say this is the best of the bunch. I don't consider myself a Thai food expert, but this best emulates the Thai food I get in Los Angeles, and matches the portions the best (was pretty unimpressed with the portions and quality at nearby Thai Cottage). read more

Went to this location last night based on the reviews we read on Yelp. We were confused how this place could have received so many great reviews. We ordered Lemon shrimp, kung pao chicken and another dish. All three dishes were blah. I have eaten at many Thai food locations and have had many assortment of dish types. Not an expert, but for sure we know good food from bad food.. And this place was among the worst tasting. Actually we both felt ill after we left this location. We both felt deceived The excessive honey was cute at first, but after the 14th time she called me that, I felt a slight twinge of being "conned" into her actual customer service. My advice is to ease up on that. Try concentrating on adding some flavor to the food instead of "honey" to the greeting. We have a rule. If we go to a restaurant and no other customers are present. Walk out. There's always a reason no one is there. Every time we break that rule, we begin to realize how true that rule has become. We were there on a Wednesday night at 7pm for over an hour and saw no one else enter. Sorry. We won't be coming back. read more

I have been coming here for years and LOVE this place. I usually come for the lunch special, but I go for dinner sometimes too. LOVE the noodle dishes, curries, tom kha, etc etc etc. The waitress is SO genuinely nice. She always recognizes me and my friends. She even brought us gifts from Thailand from one of her trips! This place is small, so the one drawback is that if there is a big group of business people there at lunch it can get REALLY loud really fast. It's best to go on the later side of lunch. Thai iced tea, best I've had in a long time-- A good pad Thai for me is when the noodles just melt in your mouth! After the soup was done, she took our empty bowls (honey) and gave us our lunch plates (honey). My garlic chicken was in a dish, next to a ice-cream scoop of fried rice, which was next to two fried triangle thingies. I picked up a fried triangle thingy and bit into it. I guess it was a wonton? There was a tiny tiny bit of meat in the middle of the triangle. I thought it could use less fried stuff, or more meat. Either or would make me happy. The garlic chicken was also good. Although I'll have to remember to ask for more garlic the next time I go. My buddy seemed to be enjoying his spicy tofu. Even though he dumped on a bunch more red sauces to increase the spicy levels. She came back and asked if everything was okay (honey), and if we were finished with everything (honey). I gave her my debit card, and she thanked me(honey). The bill came to about 20 bucks with tax & tip. I may be back? I don't think I truly appreciated this place until I started to go other places. Really good yellow curry chicken and cocanut soup! Lunch specials are the best! On Fridays, you get the tom kha kai soup , with salad, an egg roll, rice and your entree of choice all for $7.25. Not a bad deal! Plus, they will throw in an extra free thai ice tea every now and then. Love, love, love this place. In addition, the owner is the sweetest person alive. My boyfriend and I went to this hidden gem in Simi Valley! The food was absolutely delicious. We loved everything we had. The Mee Grob was nice and crispy, not too greasy, fresh and savory. The Red Curry was scrumptious, we added veggies to the curry to round out the meal. YUM DELISH!!! Their are two Thai restaurants in this strip mall maze. Note: It's the smaller one way in the back. Placed my order at 6:03pm on Thursday 3/12. I was told it would be an hour to an hour and 10 minutes. After an hour and TWENTY minutes, a driver calls me and asks me to text him my address. He then replies that he is still 20 minutes away. My food is sure to be cold when it arrives, and I'll have to shovel it in my kids face minutes before sending them to bed. My favorite Thai place super small but never crowded and always really fast. if you go in about once a month and tip like you should they start to give you stuff for free.
