I have a Chevy Volt which many dealers don't know how to work on any more. I've had some issues with my car that no one else has been able to figure out. I live an hour away but met Jessika in service through a car group for my car since she too had been an owner multiple times. What was very nice about that since the car is unique in some ways, many advisors don't quite understand my concerns but she did since she was very familiar with the car. I wasn't made to feel weird like other dealers had made me feel when I described the issues because of her knowledge and experience. And her technician Jose was very kind and patient with me when we went to do a test drive to document my concerns. He's very knowledgable about the car too and understand how to work on this car. They both go the extra mile and you feel it every step of the way. If you have a Volt and really any car, certainly go see them! I drove an hour so it's proof! read more

I came to Simi Valley Chevrolet for an issue with my Chevy Volt. I had AAA tow my Volt to this dealer because the car wouldn't start. I called the dealer ahead of time prior to the tow, to notify them that my car was coming. Once I arrived, I was told I had to put down $170 for them to look at my car, prior to the problem being determined. I was also told that I would only receive a temporary car if the problem was determined to be a warranty issue, so I was left without a transportation until my problem was fixed. Though I was told I would receive updates on my car, I did not have any communication about my vehicle until I initiated it the next day. I called the dealership about 24 hours after I dropped it off, and my interpretation was they forgot about my vehicle, and then rushed to have it returned. About two hours later I received a call from Simi Valley Chevrolet stating my car was ready, and I was told the issue was that the hybrid battery had been out of charge for so long, not the 12V battery. So I came back to the dealer, and basically paid them $170 to fully charge my vehicle, which costs $7 at any charging station. By taking my car to Simi Valley Chevrolet I thought the problem of my car not starting had been solved, but it had not. About ten days later my car again would not start despite having charge, and AAA determined the problem was my 12V battery, which needed to be changed. Since AAA does not carry hybrid 12V batteries, and PEP BOYS is currently out of stock, I would have to pay an additional $170, plus additional fees, for Simi Valley Chevy to change out my 12V battery, if they have it in stock. Accordingly my utilization of Simi Valley Chevy has been a huge waste of time and money. My car is currently undriveable without a jump, and as I am currently in a lease extension, will be returned as soon as possible. My customer service representative was nice enough, but to be honest seemed most interested in getting me out of the door. While inside the service area customers were not wearing masks, one service representative was not wearing a mask, and for some reason another service representative took off their mask when talking on the phone. So this dealership is both unsafe and has questionable commitment to hybrid customers. Would recommend Bolt and Volt owners go to Northridge or Thousand Oaks, as the vibe at this dealership is more attuned to conventional motors. read more

I ended up NOT getting a vehicle from this dealership, but my experience was great nonetheless. To preface, I worked specifically with Eian, the Internet manager and Itati, the In-house Rep. This duo made me feel comfortable even before I set foot in the dealership as I was comparing deals online. Eian was my main contact online and he was super responsive and patient as I negotiated pricing and features, and Itati was a superstar in the showroom as we tried to lock in a deal. The only reason I didn't go forward was because of the monthly(finance wouldn't budge as I was a first time car buyer). As an aside, I really appreciated being paired with a female salesperson(as a female myself) as I never once felt uncomfortable or bullied. It made me realize all the tense and otherwise disappointing dealership experiences I've had were probably due to not being paired with the right salespeople. So great attention to detail, guys! I bought a 2018 Silverado Z71 about a month ago, and was thoroughly impressed with the sales associate, Jaime Hernandez, the followed up with my emails and had the truck ready when I showed up, as I live about 25-30 mins away from the dealership. The process was as easy as can be when buying a new truck, made me and my family feel welcomed even gave us beanies. After my second visit for another balljoint slipping out of the upper a arm. I am still left with an unsafe, unreliable vehicle. Even after passing a "certified" saftey inspection. This problem is caused by a pre-existing condition that was sold to me. The only person who was helpful was Jessica in service department, like last time she did a great job keeping me informed and actually answer's the phone. I went to this dealer in September because of an airbag recall. My car 2008 Silverado had only 67k miles and never been serviced. A couple months later I went on a trip and it broke down in the middle of the Mojave desert and I had to be towed back to a mechanic who found that my transmission had been swapped with a used, rebuilt transmission. This is the only place I had ever serviced my car. I hope the owner of this dealer is aware that someone is doing this so other car owners don't get screwed like I was. read more

Just had my Silverado HD serviced here. The service was excellent. The service rep Jessie Johnson and the technicians working on my truck did a fantastic job. They are transparent, honest, they care about the customer, the quality and care is excellent, they offer solutions, they listen to the customer, and communication with the customer is frequent and appropriate. I have moved my service from Silver star in Thousand Oaks (right near my house by the way) because they were the exact opposite. For me it is worth the drive. I don't typically spend the time on reviews, but this service was so good it prompted me to do so. I had a good experience buying one of my trucks here in the past, and I will do so in the future. I went to the service department for the first time. I won't be going back. Don helped me. It was a terrible experience from beginning to end. He's anything but pleasant. One of the rudest human beings I've ever had to deal with at a dealership. He clearly hates his job and people too. I wouldn't trust them to work on my bicycle. At one point they told me to shut my mouth while I was ahead. I still gave him one more chance. I called him back to order some parts and he was just as rude. I don't understand how anyone would want to be treated like this. It's bad enough you have to go there and pay inflated prices, but then to get treated like a piece of crap on top of it is just too much for me. Zero decency. I'd stay away. If you absolutely have to go to simi Chevrolet service department, stay as far away from Don as possible. Believe me, you will thank me. What prompted me to share my experience online; after I told my friend that brings his Camaro there for service that Don was my service advisor, his absolute immediate response was, "I hate that guy! He is so rude! If you absolutely have to go there, go see Jessica." Well... it can't be just me then. But I'll be going to rydell in Northridge. Who tells the customer to shut their mouth while they are ahead? Mind blowing man. The cherry on top is my rear bumper got scratched up pretty badly while it was there for the first time and I didn't notice it until I got home that day. And I know it happened there. My car has 2 scratches on it and I had only owned the car for 36 hours. I just went over the car with a fine tooth comb the day before I took into service because I had just purchased it. So I was in need of a new vehicle. I decided to look at the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer. My boyfriend called to make an appointment to see the Blazer. We arrived at the dealership and the Blazer was sitting right in front. I met with Chris Mehmen and immediately was greeted with a welcoming smile and handshake. Talking with Chris he was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and could answer any question (even the annoying ones) I had. So let me be up front while I am giving them a 1 star review I did end up getting my truck there because they mislisted the price on auto trader and basically were not left with a lot options in terms of letting me get my truck for the price they listed. My first sales guy Marcus was amazing test drove a 2022 1500 LT Trail Boss. Marcus went over all the questions was truly a pleasure to work with. Then they bring in Tony to close the deal. Right out the gate I had concerns over the price of the Truck as on Autotrader they listed it for 53k Tony says no that's not the price and says its 57k............I showed him that the VIN number and everything match what was on Autotrader and I told him that I felt like this was a bait and switch move. He then tells me that he does not want nor need my business and then said you can leave the dealership, told me he would not be talked to this way(not sure what way he was referring to as again I had questions and concerns) turned around and walked away. Keep in mind they still had my keys to my RAM which I was trading in. I asked Tony can I get my keys back and he said ya go figure it out with your sales guy stormed off to his office, I also asked Tony for the name and contact information of who owned the dealership, Tony said you can figure it out yourself........... Marcus got me my keys and luckily him and the finance manager asked me if we can get you the truck at the price listed on Autotrader would you do the deal. I said yes. I ended up working with Marcus and the finance manager to get the deal done. Be very careful when dealing with this dealership as there is a lot of bait and switch happening here and you can read about in the other reviews. Again I am a super experienced car buyer and these guys play the game as good as any dealership I've ever seen. In all honesty I'm not really sure how Tony continues to have a job here. When you tell customers that you don't need their business and you're rude and verbally abusive to customers it's shocking to me that this place does any business and you can see in other reviews that Tony's behavior is pretty consistent. I feel bad for Marcus and the rest of the staff that deal with Tony's anger and people issues. I will say that the finance guy and the rest of the staff here are beyond friendly. But the ONLY reason I ended up doing the deal was because the price on the truck due to their mistake could not be beat. But buyers beware again they will advertise one price and then tell you their's 5-7k in "dealership markups" and again you can see this littered in other reviews. In my 20 years of buying cars I've never met someone as rude and down right mean as Tony. I was the perfect sale for them........800 credit score with a 20% down payment...........this was a no brainer deal for them to close. They almost lost it because Tony couldn't just be an honest and nice guy. Luckily two other people at the dealership understood how to just be honest and nice and we got the deal done. I wish I could give Zero star here. I had a worst experience at Simi Valley Chevrolet with Sales Manager Octai (not sure if I spell his name correctly). He is behavior was very offensive. Not sure why he was behaving this way. May be because I am an immigrant and my wife was wearing head scarf. I went there to look the Chevy Traverse for lease. Sales Consultant Ed who was really a nice person showed me the car and I took it to test drive. After test drive I went into the dealership to find out about the leasing price. Since this was the loaner car, first sales manager told me that we cannot lease the car as it is loaner car. Later he finds out that we can have this car on lease. I guess he do not know how to do his job. He asked me to fill out the application form. I asked him that first tell me what will be the price and if I agree, then I will fill out the application form. He insisted that I should fill out the application form. I told him that I am already in the market and went to few dealerships, no one asked me to fill out the application form and run my credit. They just give me their price based on if I have good credit. Then he started asking me how much I am expecting lease payment for this car. I told him that I want to pay this much as drive off amount, this many miles per year and for how many months lease term. Now he told me monthly lease price. He was keep insisting that I should tell him what I want for the monthly. When I did not tell him, he looks offended and went away. Then he came back and told me very high monthly payment for loaner car which already had around 5k miles on it. I told him that this price is very high and I can get other brands car which 0 miles on it in this price. I stood up and start walking towards the door to come out of the dealership. Out of curtesy, I turned back and asked this sales manager, what is his name. He said "there is no need for me to tell you my name." I said why, he said it's not necessary. I said ok and I came out where I see sales consultant Ed who showed me the car. He asked me what happened. I told Ed that your manager is asking very high prices I do not like it. While I was talking to Ed, this manager came out and asked Ed to come in side. I told him that I am talking to Ed right now and he cannot interrupt. He ignored me and asked Ed not to talk to me and just come in. Poor Ed had to listen to his manger and he went inside. I always hear the customer is right specially when customer is talking to someone you do not pull him away. I do not know what was his problem. Only he can tell. I am not going back to that dealership again even though that dealership is closed to my house. I will go to some other dealership and even pay more for the car but will not step into this dealership again. I will also pass the word to people I know to keep them away from Simi Valley Chevrolet. read more

Took it to Silver Star Chevrolet in Thousand Oaks immediately after picking it up from Simi Valley Chevrolet (who told me to "just come pick up [my] car " 1) cause I said I wasn't comfortable with what they were doing 2) because they said my car was running fine) and within hours Thousand Oaks found two valves were broken. ****Go to Silver Star Chevrolet in Thousand Oaks! STAY AWAY FROM SIMI VALLEY CHEVROLET! This last Saturday we bought a new 2020 Chevy Bolt EV at the Simi Valley Chevrolet referred by (Chevrolet National) and they mislead us. They did not disclosed an optional insurance at time of sale and they included on the total amount to be financed. We declined this optional insurance and we didn't sign the contract (see picture attached) and now they don't want to remove the $995! They want us to finance an optional insurance that is good for one year and pay it for three years. Why do you referred us to go to this dealer? They mislead us. We are very disappointed and we will like to cancel the lease. I want to use my "Right to Cancel" this fraudulent transaction. The salesperson name is: SHAYLEEN MCTAVISH and the loan clerk name is: TONY ANAYA. IF YOU HAVE AUTO INSURANCE YOU WONT NEED THIS WARRANTY, they will not tell you and will include this warranty into car loan. They're very sneaky. Not my first visit to a dealership, and I've had some easy experiences in the recent past where the deals were achieved through email, and somehow this time, it got even easier. I inquired about a lease from three different dealerships on my laptop via carsdirect.com at around 7 pm. Within minutes of pressing 'enter' on my keyboard I get a call from Ariana from Simi Valley Chevrolet call center. She called me and asked what I was looking for. The only one of the three dealerships to contact me right of way. I gave her some target $$ numbers on a Chevy Bolt, the new Chevrolet flagship Electric Vehicle. The Tesla Model 3 slayer. Minutes later, Pierce called telling me they pretty much could meet my numbers. The next day, talking to a manager by phone, I couldn't quite arrive to the deal I was hoping to get and I started to lose interest. I was looking to upgrade the electric vehicle I was driving and thought may be I'll just keep driving it after all. Ariana, the initial dealer contact, called me again the next morning. I told her what I was looking for in terms of the deal that would make me come down and sign the papers. After some time she called me back saying they could meet my request. As I entered the dealership, and for the next hour and a half I was in the care of a very charismatic, disarming young woman by the name of Jay. She knew Electric vehicles, she knew the Bolt, she was eager to facilitate the leasing process to my complete satisfaction. She even dropped the new car off at my house so I didn't have to call AAA to have my old car towed home. It is now 9-19-17 and still have heard nothing from them. I was ripped off for over a thousand dollars in parts and labor. The more I read the reviews for this company they are almost all negative. Just in the first 3 pages of reviews 41 reviews were unhappy customers. Again, I encourage all of you to report them to the BBB and the Bureau of Automotive Repair. They Could not find it, I came back And they found it .It cost me another $175 To find the problem. It it was a broken wire for the air Bags Under the seat. Then they were gonna charge me Additional 300 Dollars to fix a wire. They used a lame excuse To find out the problem before. At a $180 per hour No mechanic is worth that. They're all about the money. I recently found a nice used car on the Car Gurus website; a 2010 Ford Focus SE that was advertised for $4, 485. The ad indicated that the vehicle was at Simi Valley Chevrolet. When I arrived at Simi Valley Chevrolet, I was greeted very courteously, and had a great customer service experience with my salesperson, who was very attentive and personable. But when it came time to crunch the numbers for financing, the excitement began to fade. It would seem to me that almost every finance company that this dealership tried to submit my credit app to for consideration was denied, due to being considered a "credit risk', as indicated in the Dear John denial letters that began arriving in the mail. My credit is not "perfect" per se, but it is not "horrible", either. I explained to the finance team what my budget was, and clearly indicated that I was interested in easy financing options, with NO MONEY DOWN, and payments that can fit my budget. The response that I got was indicative of their willingness to work with me. A few years ago, I had been granted approval for a NEW CAR LEASE on a brand new 2018 Honda, based on my credit worthiness at that time. My CURRENT CREDIT is stronger NOW than it was THEN, yet I believe that this dealership engaged in PREDATORY LENDING BEHAVIOR with respect to my personal experience. They added a few "optional" items to my sales contract that I did not want, thus increasing the total amount financed by over $1,000, which in turn increased my monthly payments beyond what I had wanted within my budget. THIS DEALERSHIP ALSO LIED TO ME, claiming that the bank that ultimately agreed to finance me required a "deferred down payment" of $350 in order to secure the financing... I have since discovered that the bank DID NOT request a down payment! So, I feel that this dealership has taken advantage of me, based on my "less than perfect" credit score. How is it that I can get approved for a lease on a BRAND NEW CAR two years ago, based on credit worthiness THEN, but then have them treat me like a "risk" over trying to finance a 10 year old USED car for under $5,000?
