A couple of weeks ago we went shopping for a new car for my husbands mother. She had her two selected cars picked out and had done a bunch of research on them - one was a Kia and the other a Toyota. We checked out both theses dealerships and then my husband suggested we check out the Chevy Blazer (that wasn't even on the list). We arrive to the Chevy dealership and are greeted by Josh. Immediately Josh has the best energy out of anyone we had spoken with that day. The dealership was also by far the nicest we had been to as well - clean, comfortable and friendly faces everywhere. Within minutes we also met the General Manager, Jeff, who welcomed our family along with our mini Aussie, Joey. We immediately saw a beautiful red Chevy Blazer right by the entrance. We sat in it and Josh showed us some features and off he went with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Josh took them on a long test drive allowing them both to drive. He even took them on a road that is very bumpy so they could feel the difference. That day was supposed to be a day of research but because of the excellent service we received from Josh, the car was purchased. Josh was so friendly, informative and not pushy at all. The financial guy was also great. The whole experience is exactly as you would hope buying the second biggest purchase. Not stressful at all (well maybe except for the big chunk of money spent!!). Josh is still in contact and helping my mother-in-law learn and navigate the car. He is going above and beyond and it is so appreciated. I normally would not take the time to write a negative review of an establishment, if I did not feel that need to warn others to steer clear. However, this is one of those times. I would honestly give negative or 0 stars if I could. Lindsay was lovely, super nice friendly and helpful. However, she was not the primary salesperson I was to work with. I worked Charlie, and a man whose name I can't remember- i do remember that he was bald/had a shaved head at the time. They tried to sell the car (a 2013 Honda Civic coupe, still under warrantee) hard to me, after I drove out 1.5 hours in LA traffic with my boyfriend. They lowered the price, but not to where I wanted so we walked away. A few days later, Lindsay texted me at work and we negotiated via text. Finally the price was where I wanted so I left work early to grab the car. I drove the long distance again and when I got there, decided to have the car checked out by a mechanic. I'm so glad I did! The mechanic found leaky struts, messed up wheels, a total of $1000 in issues!!!! Simi Valley would not fix this for me free of charge because "they had already lowered the price so much" just said it should be covered by warrantee so I could fix it myself, but I found this sketchy and to be poor customer service. Additionally, I was not sure if it would be covered under warrantee and no mechanics were still working as it was 7pm. Finally, another man came in and tried to work out a deal that he would bring the car to me tomorrow so i could sign the bill of sale, as this would give me time to ask mechanics if the repairs would be covered. Of course, this was a lie because he would not answer his phone the next day. Essentially, between driving, waiting, etc. this company wasted 10+hours of my time and a half day of a paycheck. However, I'm glad he didn't answer, as I got a much better deal on the same model car a few months later. It has slightly higher miles than the Simi Valley one, but has not had a single issue since I bought it. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM SIMI VALLEY CHEVROLET- not matter how much you like the car!!! read more

Never have I seen a Manager less interested in actually selling a car. Our sales associate Chris was great. Showed me the car I was interested in and gave me enough time to check out the vehicle without feeling pressured into purchasing a car I wasn't absolutely sold on yet! Once I decided that it was the car I wanted, Chris showed absolute patience in letting me acquaint myself with the car before ever talking numbers. Once I let him know that I wanted to get the car, we went inside to run some numbers... Thats when the manager Omar came into the room. He did not want to sell me a car. He low balled me on my trade in (which i already had appraised elsewhere) and would not budge on price at all. He told me directly that he did not want my car on his lot. During the "negotiation" he came in with a price that was MSRP pricing with the GM discounts the the Simi Valley Chevy Discounts (Not real price dropping on the car). Once I told him what I wanted to pay, he said "We are only off by $2,200" but wasn't willing to come down even a dollar. He wanted me to come up the entire $2,200. He wrote out some pricing and while I was reading it, he leaned back in his chair, pulled out his phone and was browsing his phone. Thats when my girlfriend asked him if he was willing to come down at all, and when he said no, we got up and left. Made a deal on the phone with Tiffany. When I arrived at the dealership the staff told me she was at a remote call center! That is a bait and switch I have never heard before. I had driven 2.5 hrs to the dealership to made the deal. Dealt with some young black salesman who did not want to discuss the deal. He was abrasive. The dealership needs new employees. He thought HE was the dealership! That is what he stated to me. I went straight to Bunnin Chevrolet Santa Barbara and made the deal as stated to me for the 2017 Colorado over the phone. I came here looking to purchase a vehicle after seeing their low prices advertised on cargurus.com. I had even confirmed with one of their internet employees if their prices were true and negotiable and I was told yes. When I got to the dealer I immediately asked to see the person that I had been exchanging emails/texts with but they brushed it off and said "she works at our call center department, they don't deal with sales.." So I was taken care of by one of their female salesmen. She was nice and polite and very knowledgeable about the car I was test driving which I appreciated very much. Once we came back inside to discuss figures there was a bit of a tug of war taking place as far as coming to an agreement with the numbers. Their prices advertised online were not the true prices that they were selling the vehicle for. They add an extremely low price that includes several rebates that the average person wouldn't qualify for. Once I showed in person they told me that everything their internet person told me was false and that the vehicle was 4K more than the advertised price because I didn't qualify for every single rebate. So this was upsetting and they sensed that so they brought their sales manager I believe his name was Dave. He was tall, wore glasses and a little on the heavier side. I had originally told them a ballpark figure that I wanted to see on my payment but I never committed to agreeing to purchase anything. Dave was able to work some numbers in order for me to get the payment to where I wanted it to be but the downpayment was more than I wanted to pay. I felt unsure about the deal and felt pressured by Dave into agreeing to something I wasn't happy about. I got off the phone with my wife and decided that it was best not to make the purchase at that instant and Dave got extremely bothered. Dave said the price he gave me would not be beat by any other dealership. I told him I had a change of heart and would do some more further shopping. He started insulting me saying I wasn't a man of my word because I didn't want to buy the car from him. He claimed his price would not be beat by anyone else. But he seemed very hesitant about letting me shop around. He also stated that I wasted their time because I made them work on numbers. If I do recall They're the ones getting paid while I'm the one using my free time to shop but according to Dave I made him "work" that day. They sent in Dario who appeared to be more of a calming voice but by then the damage had been done. Dave had ruined any chance of me ever doing business with this dealer. I told Dario thanks and if indeed I couldn't get a better deal I would come back the same Day and purchase the car. I drove down to Glendale to Allen Gwynn chevy and had a good friend give me a great deal that beat out simi's prices by a mile. The funny thing is that Allen Gwynn advertises their cars at MSRP so I wouldn't have never thought about visiting if it wasn't for David running me out of that dealer. Just a bit of advice to anyone please avoid Dave and take your time shopping. They advertise low prices to get you through their doors and once you're there they expect you to buy from them no matter what. Avoid this place! read more

Thieves and liars. I've reported them to BBB but here's my story so you know what you're dealing with should you decide to buy a vehicle here. Our salesman was Ed Mallory who verbally assured my wife and I that if we found anything wrong with the vehicle to come back and he would "take care of it and make it right". After bringing it home we took it to get it washed and detailed because of dirt buildup on the external body of the vehicle. That's when, to our surprise, a grey color polish that matched the paint color of the vehicle came off and revealed oxidation covering the hood of the vehicle. This demonstrated an act of deception, and was thus reported to Ed who said he would "Talk to his service manager" but nobody returned my call. At this point, we decided to take the vehicle to several body shops for a quote to paint the hood and found a shop that was willing to do the job for $700. After the hood was painted and we picked up the vehicle, we were notified that oxidation was found on the roof of the vehicle also. That repair was estimated to cost between $1500 and $2000. At this point, I crafted a complaint letter and sent it certified mail, addressed to customer service, demanding a resolution, including payment reimbursement for us having to paint the hood at our own expense and the revelation of oxidation in the clearcoat on the roof of the vehicle. 3 days after sending the letter I was contacted by customer service manager Billy Miranda who told us that we had a warranty left on the vehicle that covered corrosion and that we'd need to bring it to a GM dealer to have it inspected for repair. I told him I wasn't happy about the deceptive practice of the dealer trying to cover up the oxidation and said that they should have stated this was an issue prior to selling us the vehicle. His response was that "We're just trying to make a buck". At that point, I realized that the dealer had no intention of fixing the issue. When we took the vehicle in to another Chevrolet dealer in Thousand Oaks for quote on the paint, they said the warranty only covered 15% so we'd have to cover most of the cost for repainting it. This, in spite of Simi Valley Chevrolet trying to hide it in the first place. Beware. These guys are scammers. read more

i wish i could give this awful poor excuse of a dealership negative a million stars. this place is a complete joke, their service manager is a jerk, the service team is a bunch of idiots and dont know how to do their jobs well or even right - they messed up my notes on what i stated the problems were. had my car there several times and they claimed to have not found anything wrong, my car had rat damage which was caused from them and they are liars and not taking responsibility - i have pictures, the service advisors suck and do not communicate with you or give you updates even when they say they will. they didnt even let me know when my car was ever ready - i had to call multiple times to get that done. they claimed to have done an update on my infotainment system which was not done at all - still issues right after, my car was veering left and right and they obviously didnt due their due diligence as another dealership found the problem right away. my front collision sensor was going off erroneously and the other dealership found the problem. they didnt even fill my oil change they claimed to have done all the way as it was not 100% or correctly - 700 miles i had put on it after and 20% of my oil life was gone. obviously it was done wrong!!! this place needs to close. btw some idiot changed it to be my service writer as the service manager - no way in hell did i request that. i had even requested the general manager several times and she kept pawning me off onto the service manager who i didnt want to deal with. awful service, awful staff and they even screwed me on a sale years ago which i got rid of that piece of junk. they even lied about a certified used vehicle they sold me as it was not even certified and would not or could not provide proof otherwise. read more

Hello, I have been working with the sales manager for a week on a vehicle that was incoming to the dealership A week later, the salesman told me I was incorrect about a conversation I had a week ago on a pricing item. The salesman basically called my husband and I liars as it pertained to our prior conversation with the sales manager that entailed the sales manager telling us his family member was a teacher and he would give us a discount on the mark-up because I am as well. So sad to have this lack of morals and integrity. If they changed their mind on the discount, that's fine - just say that instead of calling us liars. Truly unbelievable! Scammers!!! They had me sign a contract and wait for hours. There was no customers there yesterday but me. They said you can take home the car today. But last minute said come back tomorrow. My husband and I visited this dealership based on a family referral. Prior to our visit we had been in contact with Ed. He knew every detail of our situation and what we were interested in, price, payment, etc. When we arrived we started looking around for some numbers on a truck and realized wasn't in our budget. So we went in to look at other options. We were trading in a car which was upside down and wanted a lease. Let me remind you this was all known before driving almost 40 miles to this dealership. We made it clear we were looking to get a lease and a lower monthly payment. First offer comes back as you can't lease you have to buy and it was $50 more than our current payment. No budging in our end and it was a stern no. At this point Ed brought in a finance guy to talk us into it. Honestly he was rude, entitled and beyond pushy. He insisted we could not do a lease and due to being upside down on our current car there is not much wiggle room. He insisted that even though it was more a month we are getting a new car and better gas. So we were very honest and said this isn't what we were looking for which is ok if that is all you can do. This went back and forth for about an hour. I was very honest as to what we wanted and we were not budging. At this point I was upset and turned off at how rude they were. Speaking to me as I was less of a person than them and in the words of the finance manager who now came into the room "you do not know what you are talking about". He proceeded to tell us he is the best finance broker around and nobody will be able to do better than him. At this point we were ready to get our key back and leave. Ed now comes back blocking the doorway. He looks right at me and says "so I just spent 2 hours with you guys and lost about 5 other sales while helping you and you are still not happy?" "I've done everything you have asked and your still not happy." My husband at this point was not about to allow this guy to block our way out. We pushed through waited for our key and left. It was an awful experience. When seeing it wasn't going there way they instantly became rude, disrespectful and unpleasant to work with. Upon leaving and driving back to town we went to Honda Valencia. Walked in told them exactly what we wanted and left an hour and a half later with a brand new car with a lower payment and an awesome experience. VERY DISAPPOINTED! They admittedly sold us a defective car. We purchased a beautiful used Chevrolet Camaro convertible from Simi Valley Chevrolet in December of 2018. This car was obviously well-taken care of, and was certified by Simi Valley Chevrolet as being in excellent condition. And we believed that it was. That is, until we recently left it outside the carport on a very rainy day. Turns out, the parts and pieces that are supposed to direct the rain water out of the vehicle, actually directed the water into the vehicle. Yep, you all remember those very rainy days we recently had in So Cal, now imagine it basically raining on a convertible with the top down. Okay, it wasn't that bad, as the seats survived, but the carpets filled with water to the point of having puddles in the back seat. We called Simi Valley Chevrolet and were pretty much told that it's not their problem. Yes, we purchased the extended warranty, but that doesn't cover "trim", which is understandable, except for the fact that they SOLD US A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE! The worst part is that they are acknowledging that this was obviously a problem when they sold us the car, but it's very difficult to notice this type of issue until it rains. And boy did it rain. I have a very difficulty time understanding how a reputable company could be okay knowing that they sold a customer a defective vehicle but have no intentions on making it right. I was not expecting them to ask us to pay the $500 tab to get this fixed when they know they should have never sold us the car with this problem in the first place. I did speak with the service manager, Jeff K., and he was incredibly rude. He is now trying to say that the weatherstripping is worn out, but David, the service manager, made it very clear that it was not a worn out part. The service manager, David Winters, was actually very nice, unfortunately the GM has the final say, and he was unreasonable, rude, and condescending. Shame on them!! read more

They knew everything about the car we wanted, were patient, friendly, and all around good guys. They were a pleasure and the ONLY reason Simi Valley Chevrolet got 2 stars. They were great and deserves credit for me buying a vehicle from this dealership. On to the bad. So we had to deal with the manager Steve. This guy was TRULY unprofessional. He was condescending, rude, and had absolutely no care to hear what we wanted. We really felt rushed and all he did was argue and get aggravated he was talking to us. I had to tell him multiple times to give me my stuff back because I refused to be talked to this way and would take my business else where. But after talking to Chris we decided to proceed and bought. Now I wasn't going to write this review but after my experience today, that just seals the deal. I walk in to drop off my spares to my trade in and 2 sales men at the front desk decided to stare at their phones instead of ask me if I needed help. Once I ask for assistance they looked irritated and did a one call to who I needed and went back on their phones. After waiting 10 minutes they never re paged or followed up. I finally had a random salesman direct me to where I needed to go. Again, I had to deal with Steve who was too busy to assist me and just had a bad attitude. I'm done with this place. I wanted to help out my community by buying in the area but I'll try Thousand Oaks next time and will probably not buy Chevy. read more

When a company does everything possible to address negative remarks I believe it is only fair to update the public on how things turn out. After I had posted my 1 star review (see below) and sent a letter to the dealership's G.M. regarding the horrific experience I had, I received a call from him. I spoke with the G.M for a while regarding the events that occurred. During our 30 min conversation he repeatedly and sincerely apologized for the actions of his employee. Instead of making excuses for the event, he owned up to it! As a business owner myself, I appreciated how the GM resolved the incident. I can tell you, nothing is worse then having to apologize for an inept employee. The GM promised to honor the original agreement the salesman and I agreed upon, and he went above and beyond. We ended up going back to Simi Valley Chevrolet and leasing our new 2020 vehicle. read more

Hi, We just purchased a Chevy Colorado from Simi Valley Chevy. We're actually from San Jose, but we found out about this particular truck on a website through our credit union. The deal was incredible, enough for us to make the 4 hour drive south. I called the day before to ensure the truck was still available, it was. I spoke to Pearce (sp?), a friendly guy who heard me out. -I asked him if there was a way we could have the truck held until we arrive. He said another manager, Wayne, would be available in the morning and that he'll ask Wayne to hide the truck. He actually gave me Waynes cell phone number. I gave Wayne a call in the morning, another friendly guy, confirming the truck was still there and telling him we were on the way. He told me we'd be working with Jose, and that Jose pulled the truck from the main lot. When we arrived, I met with Jose, a very friendly guy, who offered us drinks after our dive, then walked us out to housing place where the truck was. We went on a quick test drive, I gave it a once over...everything looked great, and went right into the paper work phase. Everything went very smoothly, they did a quick a credit check and we went to financing with Krystal. Krystal was awesome. We actually already had our financing set up, but she offered to meet our credit union rate. The deal was actually better for us in the end because it required less hoop jumping. Krystal also worked on a warranty package for us... 6yr/100k... The price was good enough not to pass up, so we didn't. Oh yeah, she also hooked us up with an extended service contract that we could work with locally in San Jose. -We finished up, signed it all, then I drove home in my new bad ass truck and my wife in her little (less bad ass, yet still nice) BRZ. All in all it was a great experience. Super low key. Super good deals. Awesome truck. I recommend mucho. read more

Went to go talk numbers on a lease for a Chevy Malibu and told them what I wanted. The salesman told me with my down payment I should be fine for the numbers I wanted. Wasted 3 hours of my time with no car, and the manager printed out the "invoice" to show me the price they bought it for.. and let me tell you, I know how those work and he made me feel dumb, unfortunately didn't get his name but he was a real jerk. THAT night went over to Toyota across the street, found the car I liked, went back the next day with my girlfriend to make sure she liked it (happy wife happy life) and within 2 hours I was out with the prices I wanted and a car. Britanny, I know very well that when we go for an oil change and tire rotation, the breaks should not affect. That's what surprised me how my brakes stopped working?? And No!! None of your stupid mechanics are touching my vehicle again. Never coming back to your stupid shop again. Every single time I hit my brakes which still does not function like they should, it reminds me of your mechanics and the guy Shane who takes the order request. He and the other mechanic then gave me dumb reasons why my brakes would stop working. Your mechanics do not take pride in their work and treat people's vehicles really bad. Please do not contact me again. This is my honest review for your business and terrible mechanic who messed up my brakes. None of your offers and comments are going to change my review.
