This place is on a nice corner on 7th street and its open air dining room is great to view out into the street and the food is quite good. Their signature garlic Brussels tasted quite good and i also liked their half sandwich half garden salad and cup of tortilla chicken soup. I liked the price on it for $7.95. The pulled pork sandwich which is what I got I did enjoy. The bread was toasted and the pulled pork was seasoned well. It was savory and melted in my mouth. Service was good but there were way too many flies to make it all enjoyable. My suggestion is that they get a commercial bug zapper and hang it outside or in the kitchen area. I hate swatting flies while I'm trying to enjoy my meal. I'll definitely go back during colder weather when flies aren't out and about as much. read more

The cream cheese French toast was really good, but a little heavy, probably because it's deep fried with corn flake crusts. If you're looking for a light French toast for breakfast this definitely is not it. But the flavor was great. We also ordered the brussels sprout appetizer, and for me it was a little sour, but I leave that up to personal preference. Next time I come I would love to try something from their extensive beer or wine list Service: 3/5 it's not that our service was bad, it was just lack luster. Our waitress didn't really seem to care that much. We kept asking for things like a side of ranch, or a cup of water, and more often than not we had to ask again because they forgot. She did everything fine but in my experience at dine in restaurants, food is just one aspect and service really does have an impact on the overall impression of a business. I've been here a couple of times on Sundays during lunch hours and everything I have tried has been amazing! The food is tasty and the drinks are refreshing. Some of my favorites have been the salmon burger (I can't think of their name for it...), the bahn mi ahi tuna, THE FRIES, and of course, their mimosas and red sangria! The ambiance is really cool and and the staff has always been friendly and attentive. 08.07.2016 After a couple hours at the AOP and shopping at The Pike Outlets we headed down to 2nd Street in Belmont Shores. Hubby suggested somewhere new--Simmzy's! Thank goodness or we would've ended up at a Super Mex...LOL! Despite the full restaurant, we were seated in less than 5 minutes. I debated between the Grilled Street Corn (appetizer) and the Grilled Flat Iron Steak Salad. I ended up with the salad as I thought about what dinner was going to be later (just FYI, dinner wasn't going to be healthy). The steak had a spicy rub on it, which was too much for me because the salad had a creamy jalapeño vinaigrette. If the meat had simple salt and pepper seasoning, all the flavors would've been good. The menu didn't even mention a spicy rub on the meat. It was just too much spice fighting for the attention. The fried and crispy Fresno chilies were a nice touch because they were sweet. H had the 15 minute (but worth the wait!) Wings but was not impressed with the sauce. Usually she inhales chicken wings, but not this time. Little O had the Plain Old Chicken Tenders from the Shore Kids Menu which were two chicken tenders and a side salad. It was your typical tasting breaded chicken tenders most restaurants fry up and serve. Nothing fresh or spectacular. Hubby had a burger, which was okay. This is our home away from home. After experiencing really bad service and food at another spot on 2nd we wandered into here to see what this place was like. What an a amazing place! Right away we were acknowledged with smiles and friendly hellos. We sat at the bar, shared how horrible our night had been, and ordered some drinks. 10 mins later a plate of comped hot-wings were given to us and apologies for how the other restaurant treated us. They really made us feel welcomed. That was 2 years ago, since then we have built some great friendships with the people here. If you haven't been here and met the manager Brandon you are missing out on a hug and some great conversation. He always stops to check on us every time we are here. Then there is the Landeros kids, the twins Chelsea and Steven and the sister Bree are great and are a huge part of why this place feels like home! Ordered 2 pizzas: Arugula & Bacon Date. I found the appearance of the pink/purple marscapone on the latter to look pretty unappetizing. I wasn't a fan of the taste, but thats not to say it was necessarily bad. My biggest complaint comes from the fact that the Arugala pizza was DRIPPING in oil. I mean puddles. Since I didn't care for the date/bacon, I ate the Arugala. It was way soppy. The red peppers were the jar variety so they were pretty wet. It really was a mess. I love the decor inside with all it's architectural surprises and carefully chosen art works, and light fixtures. They have 36 beers on tap constantly and they offer a flight of the day which features four beers. Pizzas here are great to share and are very filling. It's not much of a hardy meal place, it's more of a casual watch a game, grab a beer and a little bite with your friends kind of place. The noise level is moderate. Would love to come here again next time I'm in Long Beach. The whole area is lovely with all the stores, cool beach air, and city lights. We were brought water shortly-seemed like tap water in my opinion (no ice). We ordered the blue cheese horseshoe fries, which was really great! Very good, and liked the dressing. It took a while for the fries to come out though and we order the Chicken Pizza (forgot the name) but the one with peanuts and thai style. The pizza was a bit burnt on the bottom, which I wasn't a fan of. I took too many years of chemistry to know not to eat any burnt food...Any who, it was pretty good, but not as great as other pizzas I have had in the past. It took a while for the fries to come out, and the pizza took a little bit longer than i expected. I am only bringing this up, because the table next to us (who came after us), got their food really fast and they got everything at the same time. A little strange. Had to wait a bit for the restrooms, there are only 2 restrooms, (one women's and one multisex). Definitely want to try out the menu more, and come her for a drink. Met my girlfriend at Simmzy's for lunch. It was a PERFECT...beautiful...Southern California day...so of course, we sat at one of the sidewalk tables with an umbrella! Because the beach is just a few blocks down, the breeze got very cool..and we got cold. The wings and the sauces were good but nothing must get. Brussel Sprouts- (Recommend) Delicious! Not too dry nor undercooked. What's great was the seasoning and bread. Tough we split it, I felt like this could have fulfilled me alone. Mixed Fries (Recommend) Standard fries but kudos on the idea of mixing fries. Apple Donut (Recommend) Not your average donut. Served warm and fresh. I wish they had more ice cream to balance the donut and the apple filling. Customer Service: They were pretty attentive however the wait was pretty long.
