Wine pour from the bar was insulting and not a good start. Not seeing our waitress until people seated after us already had their drinks didn't help. Margarita pizza was fairly good albeit a bit sparse on sauce and cheese. Lasagna rescued the meal from being a blowout. May go back once they get things in gear. read more

The meatballs are excellent, the service is great. I ordered the salmon and my wife ordered Chicken Marsala; the second time I got the lasagna and my wife got the Chicken Marsala again. All has been good. No matter what you get here, start with the meatballs. read more

I have now gone to Simone's a couple of times. The restaurant itself is really nicely decorated with a theme around the wood fired ovens that are the center of the menu. The beer and wine selection is very good. The pizzas are unlike those served elsewhere. There is a smokey, crispy crust and an upscale look to them, like fresh mozzarella for the cheese instead of the traditional shredded variety. I also tried the chicken marsala...again, not like the traditional gravy wine sauce served in most kitchens. The chicken was sauteed in actual marsala wine and had a sweet taste, almost like it was cooked in honey. The mushrooms were large and fresh and the pasta, made in house, was heavy on prosciutto. The wine sauce was cooked in, so the pasta was full of flavor. Just delicious. The bread is also all made in house and when you order the bread appetizer, you get several types of fresh made bread. We had the meatballl appetizer the first time we went and it was like mama's. I like the family vibe of Simone's and I highly recommend it! read more

My wife and I were extremely excited for this place to open. The idea of a cozy, culinary inspired Italian place by home sounded amazing. When they first opened they had lines out the door and a full parking lot, so we decided to give them a few weeks to even out and maybe workout some kinks. So about three weeks after opening we gave it a shot. We got there first thing when they opened to avoid a wait. The hostess was very friendly and got us to a seat quickly. When we sat down we realized that if this place gets full we will have some very close neighbors at dinner. Well, it got busy within 10 minutes and either side of us had guests at the tables. We were sat so close to the people that we all felt awkward and the people next to us decided to make conversation about how close we were. They were nice people and we ended up talking with them throughout dinner. Not how we wanted to spend date night, but at least they were enjoyable company. The waitress was very friendly and nice. She suggested the calamari. So we ordered that with two glasses of wine. The wine came out and was an extremely conservative pour for $8 a glass (of cheap wine). Our neighbors also noted the very short pours. Then the calamari. It came out Luke warm, at best, and tasted extremely rubbery. We ordered the lasagna and my wife got there pesto dish. Keep in mind that the website boasts the head chef having an impressive culinary education. The food was mediocre at best. The lasagna was lacking meat and cheese, and the sauce and noodles were about as good as a microwaveable Marie Calendars. My wife said the pesto was cold and "just blah." Nothing that you could send it back for but not anywhere near worth the exuberant prices on the menu. Oh... Speaking about the menu. It was on printed on computer paper staples together. As for the menus contents. If you would like to split a meal, it's an additional fee. You are unable to substitute anything in there dishes (leads one to believe they are premade and microwaved for you). Then the prices! Omg, for what you get, it is insanely overpriced. The environment/atmosphere of this place is the equivalent of the loop, at best (the loop seats you with more respect for your space than this place), the food is subpar, and the drinks are skimpy. All of this does not speak to the mid to high range prices they are asking. Like $17-20 reheated dishes. Also, our unexpected dinner guests mentioned that the pizza they got was cold when it arrived to there table. The owners first response was "oh, I don't see how that's possible when it just came out of the fire." Not the response to a politely complaining customer (that only said something bc you asked how everything was), insinuate he was lying. So, clearly they are not receptive to criticism and things won't change. We'll never return and suggest people steer clear. First review and only did it bc of how upset we were with this place. read more

We have been to Simone's a couple of times. The food is excellent, service is fabulous and the atmosphere homely.

Unfortunately disappointed. I had been wanting to visit for a while. My husband and I arrived late afternoon and was told it was "Happy Hour". No problem really just a limited selection of pasta. We were both hungry as we had not eaten so we got the meatball appetizer and an order of Fettuccine Alfredo. Pasta portion was massive and hot it just lacked flavor. Same with the meatballs. Would rather much smaller portions and more flavor. Service was good. Tables are pretty close together and though there were ample tables in the room decided to sit an elbow's length away! Can't see I will be in any hurry to return. read more

I've been going to The Press for a few years now. Same owner as Simone's. I love the Press. A favorite of mine in St. Augustine. I went to Simone's a few times and tried their specials. Amazing. Today, I tried their Margarita pizza. Big disappointment!!!! I asked for a little well done and the top was burned and the bottom was barely cooked. Either the oven needs adjusted or the cooks need prepared better. A waste of $20. read more

Great pasta! The calamari is mixed with Italian sweet peppers served with pomodoro sauce and is fantastic. The red sauce is where it's at and never disappoints. Can't go wrong with any of the pizzas and they have an excellent wine menu as well. read more

We are new to the area and asked around on what food we needed to try and Simone's kept coming up. My daughter and I went first and it was a 10/10. I then took my whole family. Everyone loved it and said how they wished they had one back home. The food portions were good. We got the bread basket, 2 pepperoni pizzas, one special and a veggie pasta. After looking at reviews, wife and me went to this establishment and it's a thumbs down ! Food is bland, we got got chicken parm dinners and the chicken was large and overcooked the pasta is noted as made fresh it was sticking together. They have 2 pizza ovens so you would think great pizza, once again very average no taste. The table are so close that any conversation you have the next table will hear. The place was very crowded as we were leaving and I was laughing guess people will eat anything. Not us never again! read more

10/27/22. Bartender would not approach to take food order for over 1/2 hour ! When confronted about bad service, demonstrates attitude and tells you to leave. The bad review is not for the food wouldn't know, here's the story...So we went to Simone's for an early dinner. It was 4:00pm on the nose, on a Friday. Now they are open for lunch we where told. My husband and I left without eating. All they had was their happy hour menu which was mostly pizza, not there for pizza we where looking for a good Italian meal. Asked for the dinner menu and was told no that the only had the happy hour menu. Good Italian restaurant in our area are few and far between, so we where hoping. Unfortunate we won't know about this one. With only an hour I'd of thought they would of given the dinner menu, but nope so that's it. Sorry Simone's, we really wanted to hope this would of been it. read more

The pizza is wonderful but only comes in a 10". It is Wood-Fired and the crust is really great too. My wife had a pizza with sun dried tomatoes, spinach, mixed mushrooms and balsamic glaze. It was incredible. I had the chicken parmigiana sandwich for lunch and it was large and filling. Only have beer and wine, which is a little pricy, but the dinner menu looks really great too. read more

I have eaten here 3 times. I found the lasagne to be way too salty. If the salt were cut in half, it would have been very good. The cauliflower crust pizza was good but must be eaten quickly before the crust becomes soggy. I did enjoy the salmon cassoulet. The bread is also very good. My general complaint is the saltiness of all the food. My two adult children mentioned it as well as being a drawback, although they did enjoy the short ribs and pizza they ordered. read more
