This was the worst experience! My child was just turned away from receiving his MRI because his sister (19 y/o) took him AFTER I spoke with the scheduler to see if she was allowed to or if he needed a parent with him... she confirmed TWICE that as long as she is over 18 she is allowed. Once they got there (half an hour prior to his appt time), they were questioned and told that he is not able to be seen because a guardian over 21 is not present with him. My daughter mentioned to them that "my mom was told I could be here because I am older than 18", she then called me, the office said they would check with the tech to see if he could be seen and gave him a questionnare to fill out. They BOTH sat together in the lobby and filled out the form (asking ME questions on the phone TOGETHER), the front lady came back and said "we are not able to see you, here is a card and paperwork to fill out to reschedule"... my daughter said "My mom is actually on the phone, can you talk to her", she said "No, I will not speak on the phone, she can call to reschedule for another time" and sent them away. I IMMEDIATELY called (we are now still 20 mins BEFORE his scheduled appt time), and spoke with someone "not in that office, in central scheduling", who said "I am reading the notes and there was a moment that his guardian walked away from him when they tried to bring him back to the back so he would have been alone and he is not allowed to be alone so they had to send him away", I said that is not what happened because I was on the phone with them the entire time after they said they may not be able to see him and I heard the entire conversation AND my son was asking ME questions NEXT to his sister"... he then said "ok give me a minute to figure this out", I asked before he put me on hold, "is the policy that he needs to have someone 21 or older OR 18 or older", he confirmed that policy is 18.... I asked "then why was he refused service", he put me on hold and came back a few minutes later stating "Ma'am I have to be transparent with you, something happened and so he is not allowed to be seen", I asked "WHAT happened that you are refusing service", he responded with "something happened, but I will not tell you, I have to be careful with my words, but no one is going to tell you, it's just that it has happened, it already happened and we need to move forward from here and my job is to find you a solution so we can see him tomorrow morning at 8:30 in the morning"... I asked legally I am the parent, why are you REFUSING to tell me what happened that you are allowed to refuse service because they are still waiting in the parking lot, so why can't they just come back in to have this done since you just confirmed she must be 18 which she is (it is now 1 minute UNTIL his appt time)", he said "he can not be seen today, that appointment is gone, once we refused him we have already filled that spot so we need to find a solution to move forward"... My children sat in the parking lot for over an hour trying to figure this out because I am currently treating patients myself and not allowed to take off work, so now I have to take a day off of work because somehow 19 years old is NOT their policy even after stating 18 is their policy! So they are illegaly discriminating against my son and refusing to offer an explanation! I have contacted his surgeon to ask for his referral to be sent to SMIL, his surgeon asked why it wasn't done today because he needs the imaging ASAP, explained the entire situation and his surgeon is extremely upset. Tech is great but upset that they couldn't be bothered to call me before the exam to prepare me for the over $400 due amount. I can in and was hit with that and told 'they should have called you but I don't work at this location' Ridiculous to not prepare someone for that amount out of pocket. It isn't easy to just pull that out of thin air and then for the lady at the desk have absolutely no concern the impact it had on me. The MRI tech is great though. read more

Horrible service. Don't use these guys. Scheduled my son to get an MRI with sedation. No one told me that the Rittenhouse location doesn't do sedation until we arrived for his appointment. Cesar said he would help out and would call me back later that day and didn't bother to. I wouldn't be too suspicious of what their doing, but while there I also asked for them to look up and schedule a Liver scan for me while we were there. I know my doctor sent the order in but the receptionist told me she couldn't find me in their system. It's now noon the next day and no callback from Cesar! I believe they are a WOKE office as there is no reason why they haven't called me back yet for my son, and couldn't find my script. He needs the MRI immediately as he just started having seizures. I went to the Rittenhouse location for X-rays because I hate going to the Gantzel location. See my new review for that location. Simon Med has always been a poor authorization service, costing me three procedures and surgery delays. I have been to a few locations, and no one ever smiles or seems to want to help. They don't welcome you, acknowledge your existence, even after standing in line for 10 minutes, or thank you for your patience. This location had five people behind the counter. No one looked up or offered to help. I stepped forward after about a minute, and they quickly told me to step back and wait until called. Five people behind the counter, and nobody was helping the five of us in line. I knew there would be a delay since it was a walk-in X-ray, so I had my phone and headphones, so all was good. I finally got to the front, completed my forms, and then waited. I watched everyone in the facility, and everyone who came in after me, get called to the back. I waited 70 minutes. The X-ray tech came to the front and, in a loud manner, said, "Where did this come from?" It was my file, so either they forgot to put it up for the tech to come get me, or they ignored me. At about the 50-minute mark, a lady came in with a wheelchair, and I overheard her say she only needed X-rays. I was surprised when they called her first, so I went to the front and asked why, after 70 minutes, I hadn't been called. A quiet debate happened between the front desk and the tech, who seemed she didn't want to be bothered, and I heard her comment about how much time mine would take. I don't know if the techs didn't want to help or the front forgot to put me in the rotation. I counted over 20 people who went before me and who came in after me. The facility was almost closed, and I was one of the last remaining patients. Seventy total minutes. The tech was not friendly and had no bedside manner. It felt like she just wanted to go home or was mad she got a longer exam. It always seems the employees don't want to be there, which matches the online and employee reviews. Like I said, no one ever smiles, makes eye contact with patients, or shows any care. The lady behind me in line commented about how bad this location is for getting help and that they always seem to have an attitude. It was my first time, so I gave the benefit of the doubt, but Simon Med just appears to be a horrible place to work or they keep hiring the wrong people. But wait, it gets better. A kid at the front tried to tell me my concerns about getting an MRI were unfounded when I told him I could not have that test. My doctor knows my body is full of metal, including pins, plates, screws, a neurostimulator, and about 14 inches of wires. I finally realized my doctor accidentally ordered an MRI instead of a CT scan, even though she knew my history. I had to call to get the new tests ordered, and she immediately sent in the correct tests (while I was still there at the location), which then the Gantzel location completely screwed me over on. See that fine review for that location. Even though multiple surgeons and internists have told me I can never have an MRI. But apparently, this kid thought he had more medical training, and I should just trust him. I listed each of the implants in my body, and he finally realized I can't have an MRI. While I appreciate his futile attempt to lecture me, perhaps let the doctors and patients know their history. Overall, it was a miserable experience. I had to cancel another appointment that was 90 minutes after I walked into this location. I had to push that out 3 weeks, so while I didn't expect to get back right away, being ignored for 70 minutes sucked. read more

Lie about accepting insurance and confirm appt. after you give all personal info. My insurance company also was told they were in network and covered. You show up at scheduled time and they tell you they don't accept your insurance and boast how much it will cost. Rude customer service. Asking for address info and phone numbers. Invasive replies. My insurance advocate called with me on a conference call. Asked and were told yes, they accepted the ins. They put us on endless hold. Feels like a scam. Don't go! Stay away! read more

Love this location as the staff and technicians were extremely friendly, especially in a uncertain time with something concerning. Appreciate the mammogram technician explaining everything, and the ultrasound technician calling a doctor on the phone to provide results same day! Though I need a biopsy and will be returning, I'm so glad they explained the possibilities while still giving me some hope it isn't the worst. Thanks for everything and hopefully it's another case of "it's better to be safe than sorry" with testing. read more

I had 3 procedures last Feb and Mar. it is now July. Besides messing up my appts at the time, and having to come back...later they said i owed over 1k. I called and got insurance involved. They took care of it and said SimonMed sent to wrong place. Then months later i get a text about owing $555! I called insurance...they had to take care of it again! Found out they never even received a bill from last February procedure! I will never use them again. So incompetent!!! I wonder if they are using "out of country" idiots for billing and scheduling...which i know goes on these days...like in the Philippines. However...the staff doing the procedures were great, but i think SimonMed are trying to find a way to scam us elderly people. read more

I went to this location 4/10/25 around 7:30 am, I was a walk-in for a chest X-ray. There was no one else in there and I was immediately checked in and told the person who does the X-ray doesn't come in until 8. I left to grab an energy drink and arrived back around 7:50. There were 3-4 people inside when I got back. I checked back in and waited maybe 5 minutes before being called back. The girl (I don't remember her name) who did my X-ray was very friendly and explained everything she was doing. The process took maybe 10 minutes and I was on my way. Both the girl who did my X-ray and the young gentlemen at the front desk were super nice and friendly. It was worth the farther drive. read more

SimonMed has become too big to offer any acceptable level of customer service. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with two schedulers to find an office location & time that would work. Then, right before our appointment today, after rearranging half a day's worth of obligations to accommodate our appointment time, this office called me to say that they couldn't honor the appointment time "because the tech has something he needs to do and won't be back by then". I will be using another locally based imaging center for all orders moving forward. This is the 3rd time SimonMed has done something similar. These are not complex images or scans. They just simply don't care about offering customer service nor accommodation for their mistakes. read more

I would rate this place this time a 0. 1st they were having a meeting in the middle of the day for 1/2 hour between 12-12:30 I arrived at 11:45 to get an x-ray this was the 2nd Simon med I was at this day to get this x ray. they made me wait till after 12:30 pm to get it. I got called back to room about 12:45pm and the x-ray tech which was a girl asked about my earrings in a very snooty way. I can't take them out because the were just pierced she then got all kinds of attitude with me the rest of the x-ray time. she called someone in to supervise. there was no way I could keep my tone nice due to the way she was talking to me... this is the 2nd time she has x-rayed me for this issues. She was rude the 1st time as well. this time I'm writing a review. i hope Simon Med Is more careful in their hiring process. this is not the 1st rude technician ther have been a few. There was no need for her to get Snooty with me but both times it happened. I'm def going to request to not have that tech again. if I have to come back here. read more

I was scheduled for a lumber MRI three weeks in advance. When I arrived I was checked in by this lady who proceed to tell me that I have a high deductible. After I paid it, she looks around in her terminal and tells me oh, your procedure is not yet authorized by your insurance company. When I asked why, she told me that usually they don't know of approvals until the customer checks in, this is all meanwhile she is turning to her workmate constantly and asking questions with this look of cluelessness in her face. She then rescheduled me and send me on my way and tells me that my money will be refunded. So, I go and call my insurance company and Simonmed imaging both and they told me that the procedure was approved weeks ago and my deductible is not as she said. This place is as unprofessional as it can be. Ask a lot of questions and don't believe what they tell you, because they are truly clueless about their jobs. Billing. February 24, 2023. Scan on my lungs. Fast forward to May,2024. Received a bill for $84. Contacted billing department. Of course all you get are people from India who you can't understand. First call, I was told to disregard the bill, then I get the bill in the mail in June, 2024. Called again. Was told to disregard the bill. Emailed them for verification. Response was I owe the $84 because I had not met deductible. They didn't know that last year!!! This company needs to get their act together. First off, get people that speak and understand English, that would be a good start. Just beware. read more

Just completed a MRI at this office. The office is not setup to offer privacy to patients dressed in robes. The main waiting room door stayed open the entire time, giving everyone in the wait room and the receptionists access to me while in a flimsy robe. I felt extremely violated. Usually offices have a separate area for patients in robes waiting for tests. Not the case area. Expect no privacy. The service of the staff was under per compared to similar companies. read more

Took my daughter in today for X-rays. I knew they offered them on a walk-in only basis so I had been checking the waiting queue. When we arrived, the 2 younger receptionist welcomed us in and promptly got us checked in. We waited MAYBE 30 minutes (thanks to the queue!) before being called back. Stefan the tech was wonderful! He explained everything to my daughter, was extremely respectful, and got the films he needed first shot each time. He even let her see them before we left (which she loved and hasn't stopped talking about) One of the films she needed to be positioned differently, he could have easily physically positioned her but he didn't (AND I LOVED THAT!), he simply verbally guided her as well as showed her how to position her legs with his hands. I know SimonMed gets a bad rap, I specifically didn't go to the closer Gantzel location because of that, but everyone we worked with was amazing. Even after dealing with rude people, they weren't disrespectful or frazzled with other patients. Word of advice:do your due diligence when it comes to your insurance to find out pricing/benefits beforehand, use the waiting queue they provide on the website, and BE KIND! read more

I had a very favorable visit today. I needed 3 scans. I had filled out my paperwork online, and checked in as I entered the parking lot. My insurance was already confirmed, and I was taken back within 5 minutes. All 3 tests were completed within 30 minutes. The technicians were all very pleasant and competent. read more

I went to he urologist and he wanted me to have a CT scan when I got in my car I called 5 times trying schedule the appointment I called 5 times and was hung up on 4 times. I called and ask for a mananger and was put on hold a long hold then she comes back on the line saying a manager was not available and she will have them call me. I ended up going to SimonMed down the street from my house and the lady made my appointment in 5 minutes!!! The staff at the imaging facility are super nice but that call center is horrible!!!! I can barely understand what they are staying because of the heavy accents and you can barely hear them on the phone!!!! So I would tell people to not call just go to the facility and schedule the appointment!! Please talk to your staff or hire people that really want to work and do their jobs!!!! read more

Avoid SimonMed at all costs if possible. My child needed and X-ray so we got online and made an appointment; only to find out that they don't accept appointments for X-rays... waiting time that day was 2-3 hours. We returned to the same location a week later, right when the doors were supposed to open and they had a sign posted saying no X-rays available. We proceeded to another location and called to see when they open for X-rays and were told 8 o'clock and yet they didn't open the doors until 8:30. Once inside we checked in and we were the first in line for an X-ray, which is supposed to be first come first served. We waited for over an hour while everyone behind us in line proceeded to go before us. Horrible experience and organization and wouldn't recommend in any way. read more

The worst scheduling experience I have had. Tried to schedule online but online scheduling directed me to call. I was on hold for approx 30 minutes. Finally spoke with a nice rep, but she had a very heavy accent and we had issues understanding each other. She also could not answer any questions beyond scheduling. I scheduled an appointment but was worried it was not what I needed. Called a different office hoping to get clearer communication and a better appointment but although this person spoke with better English, he could not help me with my questions either. And then he hung up on me. It seems scheduling is farmed out and I do not see a way to contact anyone who actually works in an office. read more
