This is a take out joint only with a table for two available inside and one outside.. Ordered a Non-Veg Thali and chose the 'Roti/Phulka' option... The lady brought the tray with a to-go box which had 4 rotis/phulkaas rolled up in foil.. In the box there was a small portion of Goat Curry and Chicken Curry.. There was one small container with Daal Tadka and a 'Chutney' container with Sweet Rice.. Was super hungry but realized that the roti's were not cooked and heated well, pretty sure it was Costco rotis just heated or microwaved.. The chicken and goat portions were small. The chicken tasted average and the goat curry tasted slightly better.. Wasn't able to finish the meal as despite being very hungry, the food didn't do it for me.. The Daal tadka was average as well and the sweet rice was decent... It is super hard to open an establishment and get a business going, completely understand but would really like to know if this below-average to average experience was just an anomaly or not picking better options.... read more

Terrible customer service and misinformation. Called them to ask about specific dishes to check if they were gluten free since the people we were ordering for have a gluten allergy and 2) their menu doesn't match up. The person who answered the phone said the one dish that we wanted WAS gluten free after I specifically asked him about it a couple of times. We then ordered it and then they called back 20 minutes later and said it wasn't and this delayed our order. Moreover, one of their vegetarian dishes says "chicken" in the body of the description yet it's labeled as vegetarian. Finally the quality of the food was not up to par relative to other Indian restaurants. The curries were overly watery. As the name suggests, there is no fluff or frills.. just SIMPLY INDIAN! They have a no BS menu with very reasonable prices compared to most other Indian Restaurants. Flavorful and just what you expect. Their spicy is pretty spicy, I mean, I got no spicy and somehow it was still somewhat spicy. Perhaps I'm just weak sauce, but a little bit of spice makes it really great. It is not my favourite Indian restaurant, but for its price and no BS food it really does hit the spot. I ordered the Special Non-Veg thali - it came with 2 non-veg curries, one roti, chicken biryani, white rice and dal and gulab jamun (dessert ball). Now the issues - 1) They didn't tell me what kind of non-veg curries they would be giving. I assumed (my bad) that it would be chicken or shrimp but it was Goat and Egg BOTH of which I am either averse to or allergic. 2) Doordash does not have all options of the curry- I am assuming this is because they have don't have a set menu. But personally, I prefer ordering through DD since I almost always have a promotion with them. 3) Biryani was not boneless which isn't a big deal since it is marketed as "dum" biryani but it would have been good to have a boneless biryani option. Frankly I wasn't too impressed with the menu or the taste. Perhaps I will try the veg thali next time because pricewise, they are definitely competent. read more

We stopped in to have a light dinner and ordered the jumbo samosas, butter chicken and pepper chicken appetizer. The staff taking our order and delivering the food to the table were friendly and accommodating. When asked our spice profile they adjusted accordingly and the food was flavorful, hot and tasty! The tables and floor were clean and the place was brightly lit with upbeat dance music videos playing casually on the tv in the background. We were asked to sample the traditional chicken curry which tasted fantastic-very rich and savory; we vowed to order it next time! If you are looking for a much more flavorful chicken try the pepper chicken appetizer. It was popping with bright and peppery spices without being overbearing! The butter chicken may be a bit sweeter than most are used to, yet it too was delicious and sumptuous. We recommend the chocolate mousse for dessert. This place is called Simply Indian for a good reason.... it's simply Indian food like you would get from your Indian grandmother (if you had an Indian Grandmother). You want WHAAT?? Three star? Four star? I whack you until you see stars! I cook, you eat and be grateful. It is take-out only, but it has a table outside if you simply can't wait. You can't specify the spice level, but you can't do that in India either. Different types of curries have different levels of heat, which also depends on the chef. I ordered a single portion of chicken dum biryani and a non-vegetarian thali. Both came in generous proportions. The biryani had a drumstick, a thigh and a piece of white meat. Bone-in but skinless per Indian style. With a generous amount of delicious spiced rice and a hard boiled egg, it is more than enough for 2. The daal included with this was a perfect complement. Spice level was perfect for me. Enough to make me sweat and reach for a glass of cold milk. The non-veg thali had a piece of roti, white rice and chicken biryani, with chicken curry and shrimp curry. Both curries were aromatic and spicy enough for me to appreciate the yogurt accompanyment. The thali also included a nice, sweet gulab jamun. So, if you can take the spice of authentic South Indian food, this is the place to go. Not a huge load of choice, as they are Simply Indian. read more

We just ordered two Biryanis and one of them was just okay. It was lamb biryani that was only average. Chicken 65 Biryani was just not good; it did not have right amount of flavour or spice. I was at least expecting the rice would be good; chicken pieces very much lack taste. We went based on all the 5 stars reviews but I would definitely not try their biryanis. Giving it 2 stars because the food was way tooo spicy for us to handle. We ordered different dosas and 1 order of chilli bhaji.. dosa and chutneys were great but we found the sambhar spicy and the chilli bhaji was spicy in its own league (like sweating and not feeling great after - spicy!). We eat fairly spicy food but this was a little over the top "spicy" for us. Service - was great! Clean ambiance and there were lots and lots of takeout orders. We may give this place one more try - once I figure out what to order :-). But if you can do spicy, highly recommend this Indian restaurant! It really pains me to write this but this is one of the few moments where service really did it for me. I placed an order for dining in and then the manager told me to order through my phone and not the cashier. But then a group of four that came ten minutes after me got their food at least ten minutes before I did. And then when I got the food it was packaged when I clearly told them it was for here, as I wouldn't go home for another few hours and I had a prior engagement right after dinner. Then had to wait an additional five minutes ultimately ending up in a 30 minute that should have been much shorter! The butter chicken was good and the naan was pretty flaky, but at the point of getting the food I was just too annoyed by the wait to enjoy it as I had to rush to finish and get to my next arrangement quickly. At least they gave me a mango lassi free of charge. I try to base most of my assessments on food quality and not service but this experience has left a very bitter taste in my mouth and I do not think I will be back here any time soon. read more

Was also excited like other Yelpers to see an Indian restaurant in Factoria that is super convenient. Ordered Non-vegetarian combo, jumbo samosas, garlic naan and butter chicken. Food was ready very quick and generous portions as attached pictures showed with great price of ~$36. Unfortunately I felt like everything but the butter chicken was way too spicy (and I can usually handle my heat). Even the chutneys that came with the samosas and soup included in the combo were spicy (like 4/5 star spicy)! One of the currys in the combo was chicken and the other one I could not tell what meat? Would be nice if they have something on their website or wall to say what they are. Butter chicken saved the day and also was nice that it came with rice without an additional cost. Garlic naan was dry and hard. Samosas were great and combo came with some sort of sweet rice dessert that was fun to try. Maybe they just had an off day of currys but I feel like since it is a small mostly take out shop with limited options that the curries of the day should be more accomodating for everyone like a 3/5 star spiciness?! Our new favorite Indian takeout!! Everything has been so good, down to the yummy authentic chai tea (made with real milk, strong tea flavor, and ginger). We had the goat curry and fried okra on a previous visit- so good! Also, I generally have a sensitive stomach, and after eating at other Indian restaurants I often get digestive distress, but not here! On a rainy night in, a hot dish with liquid appealed to me so I went with their shrimp curry and samosas. I don't know if the chef heard but it's twist not shake. Easy on the pour. I can usually stomach spice, but that was alarming. I found myself gulping down the mango smoothie with every bite. For $3, you get a dinky little cup (3 oz) for a smoothie. Seriously, it was the size of a shot. To say the least, my meal was overwhelming and equally underwhelming at the same time. Sad to leave this review but our meal was utterly disappointing. Everything was luke warm or room temperature, with spots of warmth (obviously microwaved). We thought our meal would be fresh since we were told it would take 18 minutes or so and no one else was ahead of us. We almost considered driving home and warming everything up to salvage the meal, but we were too hungry. I will not be returning. However, there were a lot of Indians getting takeout or sitting and eating so it might be worth a second chance. But not for me. BEWARE OF NUTS! This next part has no bearing on my review of 1 stars. Prior to ordering, I asked if the butter chicken contained nuts and I can't remember the answer but we ultimately decided to order chicken biryani since it has such good reviews. Well, fast forward 5 hours and I am throwing up and covered in hives. Come to find out the biryani contains peanuts! It's my fault for letting my guard down and not letting them know I have a nut allergy.
