Excellent food! Service not as expected. I reserved a private room for a lowkey birthday get-together for my husband. We had a full room of 12 people. I spoke with the hostess at the restaurant, who confirmed that the private room is full-service, meaning we have a dedicated server/host to cook the meats for us. I thought that was fantastic and more than worth the extra fee for the private room. I was told that in order to reserve the room, I needed to go into the restaurant and put down a deposit-- as there was no way to do it over phone or online. I called ahead then went out of my way to go into Bellevue, the manager kept me waiting for OVER 20 mins (just standing around) before telling me he had no way to enter the deposit into the POS.. so it would just be added to our bill the night of our reservation.. OK, so it wasn't really clear WHY their private events person made me waste my time to make physically go in. Especially as they had people in the private room when I stopped by.. ok so what did they do for the deposit??? Anyway, as annoyed as I was, I decided to "shake it off", as they say. Night of the event comes.. most of our party has arrived and we let the host know we have a few members who will be late, but we are ready to get started. We're ushered into the room which looks setup nicely. We mentioned it's our first time at Mama Xita. There's absolutely zero run-down of how ordering works, or details about their membership + discounts.. just kind of a free-for-all until they come in and get our drink orders. It felt very chaotic and unorganized. We get our orders in and the meats come out.. but there's no full service host, no one explains the process or is there to cook for us.. I was confused to say the least. My party just started cooking stuff ourselves. Which would be ok if the expectation set by the restaurant wasn't that there'd be a full service cook. I go ask the hostess.. who then said we should cook our own food as she's very busy at the time.. at this point I'm just over it. So we basically just had the same service as a large party in the regular dining areas. We cook our food. It's all VERY delicious, very high quality. We are certainly very happy with how good the food is. After the meats, I order a couple of desserts for the table. When they bring the desserts, they come in with a group to sing Happy Birthday to my very lowkey, spotlight-hating husband. I did NOT ask them to do that, and neither did anyone in our party. I understand the gesture, but without asking, it was in very poor taste and really didn't add a lot to the experience besides embarrassing my husband. At the end of the night, as I was squaring up there was some confusion about the membership. I thought I was signed up as a member, but as I was at the pos closing up, she informed me, I only had a "free account" and needed to pay a membership fee to get the member discounts. So we had to pay full price for all the orders. Fine, whatever. I see the added room fee on the bill, but was so disappointed in the service part of the experience that I did not tip our usual 25% (for a large group). I left a reasonable tip and closed us out. I also noticed that the Women/Men signs on their bathroom doors are backward as if they ordered the wrong orientation (side) and decided to just go with it, lol. Anyway, we would def come back for the good food, but will 100% taper our expectations for good service. Probably wouldn't do the private room again. read more

This spot recently opened and has become so popular. We made a reservation for 8:30pm since that was the earliest time you could go, and got seated a few minutes after we arrived. The inside is super nice and modern, and the tables are well spread out. Between the 4 of us we got the 3-4 people combo set, and a seafood pancake. The meats were all beautifully laid out and felt high quality. I think the sesame sauce that they provide was absolutely the best thing though - it made everything taste so good. My favorite cut was probably the angus prime steak. The seafood pancake was just ok imo. Overall, it's definitely worth trying but not a place I'm dyingg to go back to. Amazing place to get Korean barbecue in Bellevue! The ambience was great, we got the set that feeds 2 to 3 people. Overall, it was perfect amount of food for three people. My favorite was the meats, it was so smoky, flavorful, good quality. I find it quite odd that I only comes with one bowl of rice and one sauce. The sweet potato cheese, soup, appetizers were just OK. Came here with a large group and Nika was super helpful. They had a newer server shadow them and I can tell why they had them shadow her. She was really friendly and attentive. We had a large party that split into two tables and despite the big order and constant chaos she was super accommodating. The food was also really good and everything was super fresh. Overall: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 I've been hearing the hype about Mama Xita BBQ all the way over in PDX, so when I got the chance to visit Bellevue this weekend I was stoked! After waiting an hour, our party of 3 was promptly seated and tended to by Jen. First impressions of the restaurant was how clean and beautiful the interior was, as well as how sweet all the staff are! Food wise, we did not order the combo as one person in our group did not eat beef. We got the pork jowl, the pork chop, thin beef slices, thinly sliced beef tongue, and spicy chicken feet. You can truly taste the quality of the meat- our wonderful waitress Jen checked in on us multiple times during our meal, refilled our banchan (the potato salad and kimchi were addicting), and even helped cook one of our beef dishes after explaining how everything worked. Our recommendations to order would be the pork jowl and the beef cuts for sure! Only qualms with the food: the grate itself had holes that were a bit too large, which caused some of the meat to fall through :(. The pork chop was also a bit tough to eat, but we do prefer tender meat so to each their own :). The spicy chicken feet were also really good, but I would stick to ordering the bbq meats instead next time! Overall, if I am craving KBBQ and in the area I would come to Mama Xita to satisfy the craving. It is not an AYCE, but the meat quality and experience was great and I think for the meat quality and service alone it is worth the price to treat yourself. Long wait times, need to put your name and party size on the waitlist at the kiosk in person, can't join online. There is parking in the building, but make sure to get your parking validated before you leave. It was my first time trying a Chinese and Korean fusion bbq. We tried Mama Xita over the weekend and had a wonderful time. Validated parking is available at the Bellevue Connection Tower parking garage, which makes it very convenient. The restaurant is upscale, polished and modern, making it perfect or a celebration or elevated night out. We arrived outside of lunch hours and the restaurant were still quiet busy, I'd recommend planning ahead of time. We didn't have to wait for long and were seated shortly after arriving. Our server Nika was so lovely, she explained the entire menu to us, as well as her recommendation for different items on the menu. We went with her recommendation and got a 2-3 person set meal with original angus brisket and seaweed salad, and an order of thin-sliced beef tongue, for our group of 3. This was the right amount of meats as we were full and satisfied after. All the meat cuts in the set, as well as the beef tongue were super delicious. My personal favorite was the ginseng king angus prime steak, it was so juicy and tender. The set came with 6 side dishes with unlimited refills, the side dishes were very tasty! I like that they served a variety of Chinese and Korean sauces and spices to choose from, they all go very well with the meats. Throughout the meal, our server Nika was very attentive and periodically checked on us to see if she can bring us anything from additional scissors, to more side dishes, water and napkin. In some restaurants it might be hard to flag a server, but it is not the case at all here, and it made our experience so much more enjoyable. I'll definitely come back soon. read more

This place is new I think! and I was very excited to try it this weekend. The wait was ~1.5 hours so I think a little long for what I prefer. The flavor of the meats were soooo good. I honestly think it was one of the better kbbq places I've been. And the sides were delicious! I liked ALL of them, and especially the cucumber/cabbage and tofu ones. I think our server (Amar) really made our evening though-- we ordered three meats and the veggie basket, and one of the meats was fatty enough that things started going on fire, and he came to rescue us. After that, he helped explain how to cook the remaining meats, gave us quick refills on banchan, explained the membership program (didn't get it this time, but if I'm coming back more frequently, maybe I will). Honestly if I think about this too much longer, I might get the membership just to remind myself to come back hahaha. I think one of the detractors of the location is the wait time, which I think is slightly exacerbated by the fact that they only seem to have 4+ sized seating? I would consider coming by alone (and even this time I went with one other person), but the wait would be the same regardless of party size, which isn't great for someone like me :( read more

3 times a charm and each attempt-visit-dine in was not to standard. We love this location even before it was Coco. First attempt to try MAMAXITA during soft opening the wait list was closed, no notification to stand in queue or online reservation ( when we arrived we asked if we had an option to make reservation - host notified not on soft opening) Second attempt we were a group of 20 plus+ with guest from out of town, walk in - we waited 30 min or so while the host gave us an option to do private dining or wait longer for main dining room tables. We opt for the private dining room. We then were notified liquor license was suspended and only wine or soju was available - no hard alcohol. From here it went down hill, order was taken lightning fast, food and sides were dropped off quickly. For a group of 20 we were bussing- clearing plates, empty meat dishes to the corner service table in the room, service staff would show up once in awhile but not to clear dishes or replenish waters. 3rd attempt - smaller group of 4, waited over an hour, as soon as we sat down server notified all alcohol is not allowed to order liquor license completely suspended. The sides that came out were awful, dried cucumber and cabbage, kimchi not up to par, be ready for the servers/runners wearing all black attire to drop off your meats to be slammed on the table than run away with attitude. Server barely makes it to the table to clear empty meat dishes or change grill from burning. Restroom was horrendous in the 2 toilets were clogged, toilet paper on the floor, sink was dirty and filled with used napkins. Clear as day the cleaning sheet on the wall was marked but obviously was not cleaned for guest usage. I love chubby cattle and been to their other locations in different states this location by far lacks so many standards. We recommend chubby cattle when entertaining guest or special occasions or just a casual night out. If you don't care much for service or overly sweet marinated meats with old sides you might be ok. Other than that I'm looking to give this location ONE MORE CHANCE! I look forward to seeing improvements on service and cleanliness! read more

Came during soft opening. Weekday around 5:30pm and we had to wait about 45 min for a party of 5. We got the set meal + seafood pancake, which was plenty for our group. But if you have some big-eaters you'd probably want to order more. The set came with about 8-9 different cuts of meat. The cuts varied in quality and the a5 definitely did not taste like a5. But overall the meats were pretty good. As a note, the servers do not cook the meat for you here. At this price point for kbbq I feel like they should. The banchan was pretty slow to be refilled (on the kitchen side we were told) and we didn't get kimchi at all until halfway through our meal. I do recognize it was soft opening and Im sure they're still working out their kinks. I would want to come back when they have their grand opening. read more

Will lead with the fact that like many Chubby Club chains, they do ask for reviews at the end and have an internal competition about best service among staff. That's why you'll notice a lot of reviews for a newer place plus tons of names being dropped. No reservations now during their opening. Join the waitlist in person and chill at Don't Yell At Me for drinks or walk around Bellevue. That being said, huge 5* shoutout to Micah (Moo) for his attentive and enthusiastic service. I was shocked by Mama Xita because I genuinely had low expectations, but the quality of food and service exceeded expectations. Our party of 5 may not have all left a review, so please count this as a collective, unanimous opinion for Micah. Have to knock down a star because their online menu is misleading and has changed a bit. Prices are a bit higher as we saw $174 in person, $168 online for the 4-5 Group Meal and roughly $20 off with membership. Transparency wise, I am a member of the paid Chubby Club membership which gives a discount on various items, so for 5 people we paid around $45-$50 each after tax and tip. Honestly, not too bad of a price but expect maybe $5-$10 more per person without a membership. Regarding the 4-5 Group Set, contrary to their online menu, there was no soft tofu soup. Instead, they offered seaweed soup (no ability to choose). There was also no lettuce wrap set but instead, there were greens provided with various meats. These greens were on the dryer end, not the typical lettuce wrap (ssam) for BBQ. All the meats are delicious and cook very fast on their terrific grills. Most of them are on the sweeter end with some marination, but nothing too overwhelming. For dessert, we were really excited to get some bingsu but looks like that's also off the menu. They have thick toast and some ice cream available. Hopefully they add it in the future, as it was shown before (and perhaps exists at other locations? Unsure). read more

With two of us, it was honestly a perfect amount of food. (soup not included in pic) Ben was our server and he was top tier if I'm being honest. Before we even had to ask, Ben was already offering more sides. He is friendly and personable. The decor was modern and sleek, I did notice that we didn't reek of bbq meat after our meal, which I really appreciated. I'd say the only major downside was the wait. Came during Mama Xita's soft opening with a group of friends and left impressed! First, a huge shoutout to our server, Vicky. She was fantastic throughout the entire meal--attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Since it was our first visit, she took the time to explain the dishes and make recommendations. She even rushed over to help us grill our meat when she noticed we were getting a little too ambitious and potentially about to burn ourselves. That level of attentiveness really stood out and made the experience even more enjoyable. For food, we ordered the 2-3 person combo, and the meats were excellent. The quality was immediately noticeable--tender, flavorful, well-marinated, and cooked beautifully on the grill. If you're coming here for the meat, I don't think you'll be disappointed. One unexpected bonus: we were able to order bubble tea from Don't Yell At Me and have it delivered directly to our table. As someone who loves their drinks, that was a huge win and made the experience even better. The food was such a hit that a couple of my friends signed up for a Chubby Club membership before we even left the restaurant. That's probably the best endorsement I can give. I've also visited other Chubby Group restaurants in Las Vegas and have eaten at Wagyu Factory in Shoreline, and I can honestly say I haven't had a disappointing meal yet. It's great to see that Mama Xita continues that tradition of quality food and service. One thing I was curious about is whether there is any connection between Mama Xita and the former restaurant that occupied the space, Itadaki. I also know the owners are involved with the Don't Yell At Me franchise, which might explain how they are able to coordinate bubble tea delivery directly to restaurant tables without any apparent food-safety concerns. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that many of the side dishes leaned sweeter than I personally prefer. The kimchi, pickled shredded radish, and mashed potatoes all had a noticeable sweetness to them, and even the cold noodles--which we ordered as a separate dish rather than receiving as a side--were sweeter than I expected. I realize this may be intentional and some diners may enjoy it, but I found myself wishing for a little more balance and tanginess in those dishes. The table was also a bit small for the amount of food we ordered, so things felt a little crowded once everything arrived. That said, the meats were definitely the star of the show and were outstanding across the board. A word of advice: come early and get your name on the waitlist. We experienced about a 2-hour wait during soft opening, but honestly it wasn't too bad. We spent the time hanging out at Bellevue Square and grabbing a drink nearby before coming back. I forget which meat it is but there is one that when they bring out its in a wooden case that they open with a flourish and smoke. That was cute and charmed us. The meat quality was one of the best I've had in a while for a kbbq place. Plus sauces and banchan were also really good! Calli noticed we liked the radish and potato salad and brought us extra as we were already through one serving before any meat hit the table. So many people have posted about how pretty it is inside and it's true the place is stunning to look at. For me though the most important part is that the fans that suck in smoke at each table were strong enough to get almost all the smoke and I didn't feel like I was walking out smelling like a campfire. Overall I think they're doing extremely well even during their soft open and already have plans to come back again with more friends. If not you could be waiting for hours as they take no reservations. Even though this is not an AYCE the amount of cuts you receive with each set is plenty.
