I was meeting some family for lunch and we settled on this place. The server was so nice and accommodating for my large family and we had a great time interacting with him. It's pretty bright inside during the day because of the large windows which was nice and a perfect lunch spot! For food, I got the banh mi chao. I really liked the banh mi, which was crispy and not stale at all! The beef was tender, and the seasoning was perfectly savory with a hint of sweetness from the grilled onions. I liked everything it came with, including the egg and pate. The only slight complaint I had was that I wish they used Vietnamese butter like a usual banh mi chao, but they just used laughing cow cheese which I thought was... interesting. My cuz got me take out from SP in FV. Overall, the food was okay. The portions were not that large for the price, and the flavor seemed watered down. Viet food in Little Saigon or GG is cheaper and tastes better. My cuz said the service was friendly. It seems to me SP is similar to another place in the neighborhood that has decent Viet food. My mother in law felt like Vietnamese food so we looked on yelp for somewhere near her house with high reviews and we haven't been before. The location is on the south part of Brookhurst away from Mile Square Park and the mega packed Kei Restaurant group plazas so it feels more chill and easy to part at. Thai Tea and Milk Tea: When we went they had some kind of anniversary promotion so these were free. Tasted OK, nothing especially good or bad about it but definitely a bit tastier because it was free. "Simply" Chicken Bites: Popcorn fried chicken but with their unique spice blend. I just wanted a couple piece but it was so good our table ate the entire thing. Grilled Pork and Shrimp Rice Combo: The shrimp and pork were so well cooked! For this area with so much competition they defintiely stood out for their protein quality. Delicious and would repeat. Bun Thit Nuong: Grilled meat, peanuts, shrimp, eggrolls, veggies over vermicilli noodles. I had stumbled upon this place while in the area. It wasn't super crowded when I came around 2:00pm on a Sunday. The parking in the area can be hard to find as the plaza does get pretty crowded. A middle aged viet man served me and he was super nice and accommodating. I was eating by myself and wanted a quick meal. I ordered a Thai tea and Oxtail pho which were both reasonably priced. The server had also given me a complimentary corn pudding dessert and had checked up on me to make sure I was doing alright. Once, I had gotten the check, I was surprised to see he had comped my thai tea and only charged me for the oxtail pho. It was so nice and sweet of him as I wasn't expecting anything and was pleasantly surprised to get 2 comped items. This is located in the same plaza as the shabu place & Ralph's. Parking is decent and restaurant is nice & clean when you enter. Decor was decent too. The service is like any other pho restaurant, straight to the point to take your order so they can bring out your food. We ordered the pho dac biet with meatballs, pho ga & plain pho (noodles & broth only for the kids) along with sides of their crispy chicken & tofu. All were good and tasty. We needed to pick up dinner to take to the nearby hospital to visit a family member. I placed the order by calling in. The process was smooth and quick. We picked up without any issue. It's a smaller dining area and there were maybe one or two groups when we arrived later in the evening. The young man who helped us was friendly enough. Stopped here and ordered half the menu on the way home from a surgery center. My only complaint is that I live super far from the location. We grabbed the pork spring rolls and shrimp. The pork were a great classic. I grabbed the pork and shrimp bun, the shrimp were big well marinated and perfectly grilled. The bun sauce was perfectly balanced sweet to fish went great on the huge amount of fresh veggies in the bun. Bf got a classic pork bánh mi, the spread gave it lots of flavor. Lastly we got beef pho, the meat was wrapped separately from the noodles which I appreciate the care in packing a togo order. The broth was a huge star, so flavorful great fat content and mouth feel. Came into Simply Pho from a reccomenation from my bestie and it did not disappoint!! We came in for the restaurant's 2 year anniversary and they offered us free soda or Thai tea....and we most definitely opted for the Thai Tea (delicious btw)! My date and I started off with a round of egg rolls and the pork spring roll! OH MY GOD....IT WAS AMAZING! The egg rolls were perfectly crisp and dipped in the rice wine vinegar sauce*chefs kiss*! And the pork spring rolls had like a suprise crunch inside that as delightful. I was very indifferent about the dipping sauce that came with that. I couldn't really place the flavor. We then ordered to share the Rare Steak Pho (#3) XL and the Seafood Fried rice (which came with shrimp, fish balls, and squid). The Rare Steak Pho was humongous and our server brought out to bowls for us with serving utensils which was perfect because we got to customize our own pho to our liking! The broth was very flavorful on its own or even with just a squeeze of lime and some hoison sauce. My date opted for all te chilie oil and Sriracha, and they loved it! The seafood fried rice could've been more flavorful in our opinion, so we say skip it and go for something else if you want something other than rice! The last thing they offered us was some tapioca pudding. I'm not a huge fan of it, but it was greatly appreciated! The service was wonderful and our host and several was very friendly! It wasn't too busy and it did look like only one person was working front of house, but still our food came out hot and fast. If youre like me and are worried about parking, don't fret! Wanted a quick pho stop and found Simply Pho on Yelp. I ordered the seafood pho and it was fine, nothing special. Broth was decent, but not the kind of pho I'd be craving later. Price felt a bit steep, around $22 after tax and tip, just for the pho. Saturday morning is best for pho (iykyk). The hospitality of this place is top tier. The server, who I assume is the owner, was generous and patient with our large group. They were doing an anniversary special which they give out free soda or Thai tea. I ordered the Dac Biet bowl which is a classic. It was very delicious, and you can't go wrong with the price of $16. Broth was clear and flavorful, and the bowl was packed with a lot of protein. One of our friends ordered the beef bone pho. The meat fell off the bone easily, and it tasted very good. I would recommend that dish for anyone who is reading it, or I would recommend the oxtail pho. I liked the presentation of the oxtail one because they give you the oxtail in another bowl which allows you to break apart the bones or consume it how you want it. Another note is that one of our friends ordered a Com Ga Roti which we questioned why order a chicken rice dish at a pho restaurant. But it was actually really good. I randomly stumbled upon this place and this is a hidden gem! I got the combination pho with meatballs and the portions were huge. The broth was so yummy and hearty. They even had water oil for me to add to my pho. They also gave out a free ice thai tea or soda of your choice because they had an anniversary special. They clearly don't care about food safety for customers. Ordered the eggroll w veggies to go- the styrofoam was severely melted in several spots that the egg roll touched the styrofoam. This means styrofoam is melted onto the egg roll and we would be eating styrofoam! Gross! Had a craving for Pho while shopping at TJ Maxx so decided to stop by here. However, decided last minute to try the #A8 House Salad with Grilled Pork. (Also looked at the rice and vermicelli versions but wanted to go low carb after workingbout this morning.) So glad I did! The salad had fresh lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots and fried crispy onions and cane with a surprisingly big amount of grilled pork. Love that it wasn't too fatty either. It was tasty, refreshing, delightful and came with a side of fish sauce. My server (Vien) was super polite, friendly, and helpful. He offered me a free Thai Tea and served a small bowl of hot tapioca pudding. Everything was delicious! The restaurant is modern and clean, playing Top 40 music. We came to Simply Pho in Fountain Valley and were so pleasantly surprised! We ordered the chicken pho and the pork banh mi -- both were delicious. He was so attentive, friendly, and checked in just the right amount without being overbearing. You can really tell he cares about his guests' experience, which makes such a difference.
