I used to come here all the time with my family for their bun bo hue! The other day though I wasn't very hungry and just got their banh beo. The banh beo was pretty good. It's pretty hard to mess up but it wasn't mushy and the toppings weren't dry and they were pretty generous with the toppings! For their bun bo hue, quality of meat is always good and the broth is one of the few places that tastes like authentic BBH and not just a bunch of MSG. I like that they give you the chili sate on the side so you can customize the spice level. Veggies are always fresh when I go too! We were craving bun bo hue, and this place was the only place we could find, so we decided to try it for the first time. It took a while for someone to bring us the menu. The server recommended we try bun bo hue, which they're famous for. We thought we were in the right place. However, it was a huge disappointment. The broth was bland, had no taste, but was way too sweet. No lemongrass at all. The broth wasn't hot enough, so we asked to be reheated. Very few toppings were a miss. Had such a great experience at Quan Hy Restaurant. We ordered the banh beo chay and the bun bo nuong dac biet, and both were amazing. The banh beo chay was easily a 10/10. It was so creamy and soft, it literally melted and fell apart in my mouth. The toppings were perfectly balanced, not too salty, and had a rich umami flavor that just sat perfectly. You can tell they really care about texture and flavor. The bun bo nuong dac biet was also super yummy. It was my girlfriend's first time trying it and she loved it. The filet mignon was the clear standout: so tender, juicy, and it melted in my mouth. The shrimp was seasoned really well and added a nice touch, but that filet mignon truly stole the show. Service was honestly 100/10. They were literally hustling; running around to get drinks, food, and anything we needed. Everything came out quickly and they were super attentive. Tried both their number #35 and #52. 35 is a combination of everything which includes grilled pork, shrimp , egg rolls and shrimp balls which are just like fish cake. I got the filet mignon vermicelli bowl for the first time and I was honestly disappointed. I thought the filet mignon would come in chunks but it was minced. The eggrolls which I usually love werent as good this time and the fish sauce felt lacking compared to before as well. When you walk in, the restaurant is very open and spacious. You must walk over a joy fish pond bridge upon entry, although it seems they no longer have fish under the bridge. They also have a large fish tank located across the center of the restaurant (fish not available for eating! Came here for like an early breakfast/late lunch. Got the mi quang again but this time with extra jellyfish. Didn't even know there was jelly fish in it. Extra jellyfish came on the side and I thought it was like that sesame oil type and tried to eat it; it was not. Apparently it's just supposed to go in the noodles and mix with the sauce.
