Found this spot as it's close by. There's a few tables and the decor is interesting since all the chair are different. There was only one server working, but she was sweet and attentive. She stopped by one time after once our food was brought out. I ordered the chicken pad see ew which was a bit plain and oily to me. There was a decent amount of chicken. I had to add a bunch of the chili paste to up the flavor. The panang curry was flavorful, but tasted as if something was missing. It came with a small bowl of rice. I ordered spicy pad thai shrimp for takeout around 3pm on Sunday, arrived around 315pm, plenty of parking, restaurant was about to close 330pm, nice lady there greeted, ask if I wanted chopsticks or fork, paid and gave my order. The pad thai had 6 large shrimp which I Iike, wasn't spicy, the portion size was on the skimpy side, box was filled 3/4, 1/4 of it was for bean sprouts, I would of like if the box was filled completely with pad thai especially if Im paying $18 for it. Flavor wise, even though the pad thai was kind of wet/saucy, I wish it had more sweet and tangy flavor for my personal preference, the small bits of tofu in it was a nice touch. Pad Thai is DELICIOUS!! I'm a PHAN!! I placed a to-go phone order on a weekday, which was smart to do, because only one person (that I saw) was working. I'm not surprised since the restaurant was empty and the plaza is small. She quoted me 20 minutes for the to go order to be ready, but she finished sooner than that. I believe she was cooking, because when I arrived soon after the call (5 min) no one came to the front for some time -probably until she was able to step away from the stove top. She gave me my drinks first-highly recommend the Thai Lemon Iced Tea! So refreshing! My sister loves Thai iced tea and said she really enjoyed the Thai tea there. She said it was "thick" and good. (Tip: I asked for no ice for her drink since she wasn't going to drink it til she got back from work.) I ordered the salmon salad and it was great! I was shocked and happy to see that it was quite a large piece of salmon! I'm definitely coming back this week for a shrimp pad Thai or maybe I'll try beef with it this time. Regardless this place is a hidden gem! I brought my Pomeranian with me and forgot this plaza doesn't have a secure spot to leash pets outside the business. The table and chairs were foldable so she would've pulled them with her to follow me into the restaurant (her wait command doesn't last long ) so I set her on the chair cause she's lazy enough to not jump off lol. Please have patience with this small family owned restaurant. I know rent is steep everywhere so it's hard to afford overhead and employees while ingredient prices are also rising. Came here on a weekend with a couple of friends. Nice vibe, chill, calming atmosphere. Only one wait staff but she was very attentive and pleasant, although at the time we were the only ones in dining in. Food was fairly sized, served piping hot, with good flavor. I've often said that Thai food from small hole in the wall type restaurants give you authentic flavors. I need to make sure this is still true with Street Thai Cafe. It was a half hour to closing time but proprietor Pink T. allowed us in for dinner. We had the place to ourselves and marveled at the interesting wall decor and the quaint arrangement of tables surrounded by colorful pots and plants. The lovely missus opted for meatless Pad Thai which was a good portion of noodles and fresh sprouts. It was to her liking and plenty on the plate for her to bring some leftovers home. Did I say home? I did order the Thai Fried Rice with blocks of fried Tofu to be packed to go (it was a good decision... all good). However, a very interesting dish on the extensive menu caught my eye and Pink T agreed it was a good choice and that a full cup of fragrant Jasmine long rice comes with the dish. It was a nice presentation of a bowl filled with soft white tofu and pieces of shrimp and ground chicken with peas and carrots for distinctive color and a flavorful gravy. It was simply called Thai Style Gravy. Mix into it the white rice and you have a spoonful of delicious Thai cuisine. Pink T. also made me a big mug of Sweet Thai Ice Tea and offered a cup to go so I could enjoy it at home. It was really after closing time and we thanked our hostess on the way out. It was an interesting update on Street Thai Cafe that confirmed small restaurants are great for Thai foods. read more

We ordered: Thai bbq chicken: sweet chili sauce on the side along with sticky long grain rice. Not sure why I've never ordered this. A very different taste. Slightly sweet. Nice char to skin. A thigh & 2 drumsticks. This was VERY tasty. Although I personally prefer breast meat, the dark meat really holds up better than a breast might. Would totally order again. Another street item was the rice noodle with lettuce, peanut, cilantro, red onion & shrimp. Thought this was a hot noodle dish, however, the waitress clarified this as a salad. Limey, chili, slightly sweet dressing. Wide undressed rice noodle along the side. Another winner. The Pas See Yu was good as well. Tender beef with scrambled egg tossed with wide rice noodle. Lightly seasoned yet flavorful noodles. Convinced my MIL to try something other than pad Thai. I've had other noodles dishes, all good. Sometimes you really need to encourage fellow diners to take a chance. Cuz there is life, after Pad Thai. Also shared the garlic green beans. HUGE portion of tender yet crisp green beans. I came here for the first time and tried their Pad Thai lunch special. It came with a few pieces of lettuce (what they call a salad lol) with a little drizzle of dressing, bean sprouts on the side and a Thai ice tea. I ordered it with tofu but got chicken. When I told the server that my order was incorrect, she took my plate back and picked the chicken out and added a few pieces of fried tofu in it. While I was eating, there was a little bit of chicken in it so that's how I know they picked out the chicken. The drink tasted bland and pad thai was mediocre. The portion was small for $14. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, we felt welcomed and at ease. The space is charming, and the fact that it's a woman-owned business made it even more exciting for us to try. Pinkie, our server, was friendly and patient, taking the time to explain the menu and making sure we felt comfortable. I can be a bit hesitant with pronunciations, but she made me feel completely at ease and never rushed, all while bringing our food and drinks out quickly. We started with the Tom Kha Gai and pineapple fried rice. The Tom Kha Gai was especially impressive, with a broth that was full of flavor despite its clean, white appearance. The menu is packed with so many tempting options, making it hard not to want to order more. I'm glad I controlled myself, though, as the portions were generous, and the value for what we got was excellent. We couldn't even finish both dishes! For drinks, we tried the Thai Lime Iced Tea, and we were pleasantly surprised. It was subtly sweet with a smooth, rich tea flavor that might just replace my usual Thai iced tea order. There is only one grumpy lady working in the dining area. We have two adults and two kids went there. The host did not greet us but left us standing there for a long time. We finally sat down. She did not offer water to us so I had to go back to my car to get our own water bottles. When I asked her if the pineapple fried rice is spicy. She said she does not know and gave me a look. I asked if she could put the spice on the side. She said I should order something else. For people who have kids, do not go to this place. The kids were playing with just normal adults' talking voice when there was only us dining inside. The lady came over and "shuuu" to my kids and push the kids to a chairs. It was very RUDE. We quickly ate our food and wanted to leave. But it took so long for her to come out where we called her several times. Instead of bringing the check to me, she asked me to pay at the counter. The food is ok with very small portion but kinda pricey. If you are looking for Thai food, there are better choice nearby. read more

Even though located in a strip mall filled with a few other eateries, this place seems very homegrown. Ambiance is nice albeit if they want harder seats they might as well get some boulders moved in. The mi krob was good - nice sweetness to it and light but I didn't see any tofu. The seafood rice dish was plentiful with average pieces of seafood. Open till 11:30pm now most days.. really suits our often late night dining schedule! We went on a Monday night around 9:45 pm and there were about 4 tables with customers and people dropping in for take-out. The lady that helped us seemed to be handling quite a bit as there were no other servers, plus she would run back to the kitchen for a while.... (we did see a cook come out of the kitchen at one point) We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and the Pad See Ew with beef and also some vegetable spring rolls for appetizer. The Pad Thai was pretty tasty and the portion was really good. The Pad See Ew was good overall, and the beef was pretty good quality but the dish did seem like it needed a little bit more flavor.. once again, a generous portion. Overall, our experience was good and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a late night Thai food place... in a very casual kind of creative setting. read more

Seems the food has gone a bit downhill since 7 years ago when they first opened up. Moved back recently and was looking forward to the food, but we may not be going back. The angel chicken wings were delicious. Wasn't a fan of the Crying Tiger or yellow curry. Crying Tiger is usually seasoned and this was cooked plain with just the sauce to dip it in. A bad and first time Thai food experience for my boyfriend to have that dish. Yellow curry barely had any meat, potatoes, carrots or onions. Was mostly filled with curry. It was more like a small entree vs a full normal size dish. It would have been okay if the price they charged for it wasn't $18. Crying Tiger at $23 was also not worth that price and we didn't get as much as some of the pics you see on here. Forgot to take pics. read more

When you leave a restaurant hungry and immediately in search of a meal, you know it's not a good experience. I had heard really good things about this place and unfortunately, I do not understand what I heard because my experience was awful. First and foremost, I will say that even if I HAD enjoyed the food, I would not return to a place with such poor customer service. The individual taking orders and bringing the food was extremely unfriendly and short with all of us. She also would not accommodate my friend who has a severe allergy to broccoli by replacing it with a vegetable other than cabbage. We also didn't have water for the majority of our meal and she would rush by us so quickly that it was hard to stop her to ask for water. In regards to the food, I tried the golden crispy tofu, tofu soup, and spicy eggplant. When the crispy tofu came out, I immediately was confused because it had so much batter around it that it looked and smelled like a funnel cake. I ate the insides because the outsides were so oily and like a carnival dessert. The tofu soup was healthy and not oily but significantly lacked flavor and whatever flavor was there was not pleasant. My actual meal, the spicy eggplant, was so oily that I truly could not eat it. Initially, I tried to take pieces of eggplant and aggressively squeeze it in napkins to try to drain the oil but it was not enough and I ran out of napkins after only squeezing two bites of eggplant. my friend asked if I could get a different meal instead and the server just stared at me and did not want to give me a new meal. Finally I just said "it's OK, I don't need anything else. you can just take it back" and she goes "ok!" And took the plate away. I waited until my friends finished eating their noodle dishes (which did not appear as oily at all) before going somewhere else to eat. Suffice to say, I will not return. read more

The server was attentive but I asked for limes with my noodles and she was like "mmm try it with vinegar, we don't really use lime for that." I'm literally half Thai , and even if I wasn't the question wasn't "would you recommend this with limes" it's "can I have some limes" the boat noodles were pretty flavorless, boat noodles usually has a very well seasoned flavor with flavors like cinnamon, star anise, coriander but this broth just taste like beef broth. Authentic, delicious Thai dishes with the freshest ingredients and true attention to detail to bring out the best flavors. The duck noodle soup was freaking delicious, with a broth that is just pure duck flavor. The mi Krob was the best I've ever had, with a citrus that cuts through the sweetness in the perfect way. The pineapple fried rice also stood out as the balance of flavor of all the ingredients worked really well. The flavors!! YUM!! I ordered Pad See Ew, Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken, and Roti with condensed milk and sugar. In a toss up, I ate the Pineapple Fried Rice first. It was just so flavorful I couldn't stop. Fried rice, shrimp, chicken, pineapple, peas, raisins, carrots, egg, and cashews. The flavors together were amazing! New favorite. The Pad See Ew was also delicious. Cooked perfectly. The flat noodles and the tang of the sauce in this dish are so good. Lastly I added the sweet Roti for dessert. It was flaky and sweet. We never saw inside the place because our server came to us. They were out of the shrimp samosas so we ordered the angel wings, Thai iced tea and drunken noodles. Despite it not being crowded, service was really slow. It took forever for our food to come out. We didn't want to complain. Maybe they were down a cook or something. 30 minutes after ordering, the drunken noodles came out. We were expecting the appetizer first but at the noodles since we were hungry. The noodles were disappointing. The flavor and spice was great, but the noodles were overcooked and made for a mushy mess. The noodles fell apart when we picked them up with the fork and the meal was barely edible. The angel wings then appeared and they were much better than the noodles. The only thing I would want for the wings is for the sauce to not be so sweet. I felt that it needed some acidity. Came here for a quiet Sunday night dinner, two people. We ordered the fried tofu, yum woon sen noodles, duck soup (per the OC Register article). The tofu was good but nothing special. Yum woon sen noodles were delicately light yet still packed with flavor. The duck soup was unbelievable; the broth has a longingly sweet aftertaste from all the fat / juices the duck is cooked in.
