Ordered take out. When I got home part of my meal was missing. I called and they asked me if I wanted to come back and pick up the missing item. What I really wanted was to eat my food. I told them I wasn't going to drive 12 miles to pick up the missing item. They said they would credit me an appetizer next time I came in. I'm some how supposed to remind them that they owe me.. What the should have done is refund my meal and apologized. Don't tell me there's a new girl in the back. The resolution was to drive 24 miles to pickup the missing item and eat it when! I have been to Simply Pho several times, and always enjoyed my experience and food. Tonight at the Bee Cave location was by far the absolute worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant. Not only was my table and experience awful, but every table around me was complaining and commenting to the manager and staff about the service. Starting with the 2 servers that were managing the entire restaurant and unable to keep up the demand to the behavior of the manager who was not only unapologetic but down right rude and disrespectful to the paying customers. Not only should you NOT EVER go here, but every single person that worked there was telling us that online orders took precedence over the people sitting inside. We waited over 30 minutes to have anyone come to our table and bring us waters, that was after flagging down the hostess to have our server come to the table. We then waited another 20 minutes for our bar drinks to come to the table. Our drink orders were incorrect and then once food came out, one of the meals didn't come for yet another 20 minutes. After 1.5 hours and nothing but rudest service from absolutely everyone, there is no way we will be returning. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE. read more

Was craving pho and decided to order from here(ordered to go for pick up to eat at home) Biggest mistake ever. Do not get their pho!! The broth is disgustingly oily and yellow?? And tasted like straight up curry. Did they try to cook pho in a dirty pot that they used to cook curry or did they just dump a bunch of curry powder in there on purpose? Just overpoweringly oily and very very sweet. It tastes nothing like pho. The ribeye beef was also low quality and terrible. So gross. Couldn't eat it. Stay away from this place!!! Ok, let's talk about service: our waiter was very patient with me, as I didn't like the first dish I had (I was sensitive to the fish sauce) and brought out the next order fairly quick. Like every business now, staffing is an issue but I'm not going to really complain about it, but that is the reason I gave them a four not a five. Amazing food!! Fantastic selections and generous portions as well. As a vegan, gluten free dish: I love the Singapore noodles and the Curry dish. Tofu is my protein choice. If you love spicy, you can add chili oil and not be disappointed. It's so flavorful! If you don't have allergies: try the Wok on Fire Flat Noodle Dish. Walking in we were greeted with the most delicious smell, so I could only hope that the food could match. Good news: it ABSOLUTELY did. Everything was perfection here. The rare steak pho was delicious and the broth was savory and flavorful, even without adding hoisin and sriracha. One of my dining companions had the veggie and tofu pho and noted that the vegetables were all fresh, our waitress recommended the spicy chicken vermicelli to my other dining companion and it was perfectly seasoned, tasty but not overwhelmingly spicy. We ordered the jasmine tea with lemon, ginger and honey as well which was high quality. Simply Pho is my go-to restaurant for comfort food on cold fall and winter nights -- as well as any other time for that matter. This restaurant is always busy, which is not a surprise given the quality meals, reasonable prices and clean/friendly setting. My choice tonight was the P3: Brisket and Rib Eye Pho. This is one of my favorites, as the beef is always tender and plentiful, and the noodles are just the right consistency of being soft without being soggy. For me, pho is always a feast for the senses, especially after the addition of basil leaves, lime juice, bean sprouts, jalapeno peppers, cilantro, hoisin sauce and Sriracha. I've been consuming a dangerously and uncharacteristically low amount of Asian food since moving to Austin. There's just not a ton of options unless you're north of town which, unfortunately for me, is pretty out of the way from both home and work. Thankfully, there's Simply Pho House. As one of the few Asian restaurants around Bee Cave, they're actually a solid go-to with classic dishes at decent prices. I eat here about 2-3 times a month and my favorite things to get are the B4 grilled pork & spring rolls vermicelli bowl and the M5 grilled pork banh mi-- perfect ratio of ingredients and great cook on the meat. Bubble tea is consistently yummy, too. We've tried a number of their Thai offerings (tom kha soup, pad kee mao) but they're just not that tasty. Def rec sticking with the Vietnamese dishes. I was very bothered by the staff's lack of mask compliance the last time we dined in but I haven't seen much of it lately since we always get takeout nowadays. I struggle to give them 1 star. I ordered food by favor. It arrived not as expected. I contacted them and was put on hold several times, with 2 different people coming to the phone. I have been a customer for 4-5 years in the Bee Caves area and would have expected a better response. All I got was a, oh well, and when I told them the way to keep a customer was to not question them and all I got was put on hold after 3 words into the conversation. I spent left over 20 minutes and then hung up on. All it needed was a $10 refund but What they have now is a customer that will NEVER speak a good word of them and NEVER go there again. This place is the best ever! No wonder it was busy every time I went. The inside is beautiful, nice booths and tables and a nice bar area when you walk in. The coolest part is that a robot delivers your bubble tea and smoothies, which are incredible! The Vietnamese food is authentic tasting! First timer here - we ordered the pork/egg roll vermicelli and pho combination. The portion sizes were on the smaller side for the price, compared to my previous experiences. The pho had plenty of meat and other ingredients but the 'large' size is comparable to a medium or even a small size at other restaurants. The broth was very oily. The vermicelli was good, lots of meat, and the egg rolls were tasty. I'm not sure I would return here given the number of other Viet restaurants in Austin. read more

During an average meal, where the starter came out cold before the drinks even arrived, the lights were turned up to full halfway through our mains. It was only 8:45pm and the cleaning buckets were already in sight! I understand that people want to get home, but after paying a very high price for an average meal the least you expect is to be able to enjoy the night out. Alas, a restaurant we all enjoyed with great food and service, very reasonably priced and the food came out quick. We ordered quite a lot and everything was fantastic. Our kids devoured the chicken lo mein, crispy egg rolls and potstickers. My daughter even ate the pho. The rib eye in the pho was tender and the broth was perfectly seasoned. The beef fried rice was addicting. I normally never get fried rice but I would order these again for sure. The grilled pork sandwich was nice and full of pork and veggies. It was fun for the kids to see the robot bring out drinks. Our waiter (young man with glasses and curly hair) was superb, hard to believe it was his first or second day. He was on top of it and very courteous. The only thing we were bummed about is that they ran out of boba so the kids had to drink their smoothie without boba. I called to make a to go order and was curious about the non-dairy milk tea, I am highly sensitive to dairy products and was assured they use no dairy. I just cannot believe that to be true as I have been the sickest I have felt in many years since drinking half of the "non dairy" milk tea I received. Beware if you have any dairy/lactose sensitivities or allergies. My husband and I had eaten here once before this and the pho was ok everything else we tried was pretty bad. My family and I went with some friends to their grand opening event where they had a Chinese dragon show which was super fun for my son to see. The decor is super cute. Definitely the classiest Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. All of the food was fantastic. The grilled pork banh mi is my test dish for good Viet food and it was pretty good for the Austin area! Second only to Saigon in town but you don't have to deal with their snotty hipster service. ;) For a grand opening and how chaotic our kids were being, the servers were soo nice and accommodating and everything arrived in a timely manner. They got my drink wrong but the server apologized and I mediated remedied it. I love that they have an expanded Asian menu. I thought this place was great and will definitely be our go-to Asian food in the Hill a country area! The pricing is a tad high comparatively but not too bad. read more

I see a lot of mixed reviews here. We've been going to Simply Pho in Bee Cave since they opened up on the west side of 71. The food has always been acceptable and lacking any other pho choices within a 15 minute drive, they'll do. What's been an issue in the past was whether you could get someone on the phone willing to take your order. I had never been able to use an online ordering system. We rarely chose them because it was so difficult to order over the phone. Fast forward to now. They've moved to the east side of 71 into the building Pei Wei used to be in. It's a much better use of real estate with Simply Pho there. I placed our order online. Doing that always has two sides. I'm glad to be able to make my choices and review them. Sometimes you're stuck with the choices available though. I got to the end hoping I could pick my pick up time. No luck. After placing the order, I promptly called to tell them I would be there in 60 minutes, not the 30 the system suggested it would take. The phone cut in and out a lot, but I gathered they understood what I was asking. I showed up at 6pm and was shocked to see how full the parking lot was. Inside was packed. Maybe there was a table or two open, and the bar might have had two open stools. I'm always glad to see a place doing well these days, and it gave me hope that the food might be a little better. Pick up transaction was fairly easy. The crew was obviously slammed with the crowd and full counter of pick up orders. How about the food? My daughter and I had the ribeye pho. I'm not a pho connoisseur, so I can't say where this lands in the continuum of pho execution. The broth was flavorful. In a clamshell container the had our noodles and raw beef. The noodles were a congealed mass that did not separate in the reheated broth, so I just chopped the hunk into bits. The meat was pleasant. No gristle or tough bits, it heated/cooked just fine in the hot broth. The baggie of jalapeno, sprouts, and lime looked to be a little old or maybe it got too hot in the tied up bag? It still worked out. My wife got the chicken fried rice and we added mixed veggies. It was a decent sized serving and tasted pretty good although a little bland. We finished off with spring rolls which they execute good. I will note this came with a lot of packing. I don't know how you do it otherwise (than eating at the location), but that was a lot of plastic and Styrofoam. Up to this experience, I would have felt generous giving them three stars. I expect the move has allowed them to make some changes and upgrades that this time equaled a 4 star earning experience. read more

I used to go to this place every week and order the same things. The last few times the kitchen door has been open with the staff not wearing masks or gloves. The tables have been filthy and I walked out. The restaurant closed for a bit and I thought they cleaned up the issues. Unfortunately, I returned to find the exact same filthy and unhealthy conditions. The bathroom was like a gas station's toilet. The health department would close them down. read more
