POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Found some brown paper towel like (3"-3" in size, see image) in our salads. Very disappointed that it seem intentional because of the size, how could that be missed. Granted I love simply salads and has been a regular for some time. I wanted to give opportunity to store to make it right before even posting any review, however the phone call to the store was pointless, not what I expected. I was greeted by an associated, I requested if I can speak to a supervisor or mgr, hold. Then greet by a stern hello... No name was given or even how can I help you? I asked if he was the supervisor or mgr, yes! I was very unpleased at how he answer the call. I ask what is your name "Isiah", I pause slightly in hope he would ask how can I help you? Nope, I said hello again, he responded hello. I said do you have a corporate number I can contact because I'm not welcome to make a complaint through him. He said no you can make a survey on the receipt. I ask him who is your boss? He said Brian. How can I reach him, let me check the schedule. Um he don't work weekend but will be here tomorrow 10-8p. He sounded like he don't have the care in the world to try to know what the call was about or help. So here is my review. Solid choice if you're looking for healthier option/yummy salad or wrap meal. It seems mostly like a take out kind of place, but there is some seating inside that our whole group had taken over. Definitely better suited for smaller parties if eating inside, but we made it work. I ordered the Earthy, Nutty, Crunchy salad and it was sooo good! I love beets so I had to choose that one, and loved all the ingredients in it (e.g., edamame, sunflower seeds, croutons, and tofu). I got it with the pomegranate vinaigrette on the side, which was actually creamy. I liked it a lot! The other recommended dressing was tahini, which someone else tried and was also delicious. 25 minute wait for a $15 salad and honestly just a bad experience. Came in and couldn't find a menu, but the girl didn't say anything until we were standing right in front of her looking very confused. No "hello" or "welcome", just "the menu's there." We ordered the El Jefe Salad and should of just walked out instead of waiting so long for a mediocre salad and stale piece of bread. The toppings and salmon were all mushed at the bottom with overchopped greens and bland dressing. She gave us two extra dressings on the side but it was the wrong dressing? And for some reason they waited until several orders were done before calling it out and paying. I understand if you're understaffed but why wait and let food sit when the customer is waiting right in front of you and for over 20 minutes? So I came into the store yesterday and purchased the same salad. I am autistic (disabled according to the Ada) and decided that I wanted to eat healthier and made this my choice after thoroughly researching this place and trying it yesterday and it was amazing. I also have a bladder issue and I also am both color blind and wear contacts which I am not wearing today. There was something at the bottom of the door which I could not clearly see which is why I asked he female employee if someone was still in there. If you review the video you can see me dancing around and walking towards the bathroom. They told me someone was in there so in hopes that I would be able to utilize the restroom I placed the order. I asked one of the (FEMALE EMPLOYEES) if the person had came out and she said no but "you can knock". I knocked. I assumed it was a customer. So when the person inside stated LOUDLY: "What the fuck I just got in here, fuck". I said nothing because we all have bad days. When the person came out. I saw that it was the employee, who was later identified as Brain by himself and by the female employees. I stated "wow, hope that you have a better day" He began yelling "and some of the things he stated were Me: "You think you can Yell at and speak to customers this way" Brian: "you think you can knock on the door and interrupt me while I'm talking a shit" Me:"How would I know you just got in there I just needed to use the bathroom" Brian: "I don't give a fuck don't knock on the door" Me: It is completely unreasonable for someone to not knock on a door who needs to use it" Brian: "bitch be for real, bye" Amongst what he also said in the video. Once he called me a bitch I struggled to get the camera out and recorded the end of his rant and rave. So to be so utterly angry and in an aggressive state at someone knocking on the door to use the restroom is completely irrational and shows signs of mental health issues that go beyond the scope of what is ethical and appropriate to display to customers at a business. To speak to a customer so disrespectfully who is both a woman and disabled is a violation of the Unruh Civil Rights Act and the Consumers Legal Remedies Act (CLRA) As well as the ADA. He also began to yell at one of the employees who text him. Stating "why the fuck did you text me don't text me" She text him unbeknownst to me because I am a customer and was knocking on the door. The sort of behaviour he was displaying to me a customer and the fact that when I asked the female employee her name so that I could properly exclude any one else who wasn't involved and also make clear that all the female employees were respectful, professional and displayed appropriate behaviours that would meet any company standard. And she in A fearful manner stated "that she didn't wanna be involved, please" Let me know that there is potentially workplace harassment and mistreatment going on. If the abuse I suffered other employees here also suffer from and more This is a violation of; *The California, the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) prohibits discrimination, harassment, and retaliation against employees, as well as against clients, customers, and other individuals who interact with businesses. The FEHA protects individuals from harassment based on protected characteristics such as race, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, and other factors. I am not sure if the cameras record voice but all can be heard if so. Brian was also disgustingly rude in the yelp review 2 months ago. Which means this is not the first complaint and this is not the first time he's been rude to an employee. They seem utterly in fear of him. Considering that I thought he was going to assault me with the level of aggression and hostility he displayed for something so simple as me knocking on the door to see if someone was still occupying it. I would say that you have hired someone who is intentionally not meeting company policy. Intentionally not abiding by the professional conduct that every company provides and hopes to provide for consumers. Someone who is hostile, aggressive and utterly unhinged mentally. With no emotional intelligence and no consideration for consumers and customers. I am a paralegal student with honours and I am considering filing a complaint. However considering when I left when I openly stated that I found a review on Yelp that contains Brian/bryan in it and how he was rude and disgusting and I wasn't the first and one of the female employees nodded and whispered "THANK YOU". I would prefer to receive a call back not an email in regard to taking this concern seriously. I enjoy the Simply Salad in Long Beach, but this one, not so much. My lettuce was wilted, I asked for my wontons on the side, and they were in the salad. I also asked for my daughter's dressing on the side and it was not included. When my husband went to pick up the order, the staff was not pleased when he asked for a refund for the soup they ran out of. Oh, when my husband brought the bag out, I also noticed my wontons were not on the side. When I went in to get my wontons, the staff had an attitude, and the response to my thank you was ignored until I said it again. If you work in customer service, serve the customers. Been craving a salad, oddly enough, and decided to stop here. Simply Salad is located in a small strip mall hidden behind a mattress store. It's located next to several other small shops and restaurants, but the perk is that it is at the edge and easily spotted. Once you go inside, you'll see lots of greens and instantly are reminded of other build-your-own style restaurants (Chipotle, Blaze, Subway, etc.). Everything is fresh and the salads are chopped to order. They have a lot o options from salad type to protein to wrap to dressing. In all honesty, it can be very overwhelming if it is your first time. They do have pre-created salads that you can order and they will make from scratch. My only major suggestion with the menu, perhaps post it up so we can see it. I wouldn't have known there was a menu to chose from until I got to the front and saw a small menu. I opted for the ahi tuna salad with the far west dressing. Overall, it was an okay salad. Not as much protein as I expected for the press, but okay overall. The far west dressing is delicious. Recently changed ingredients in the salad they call Chinatown, I guess some ingredients are seasonally adjusted. I also got the most delicious and chewy cookies- my favorite is oatmeal raisin but these chocolate chip ones called GOOIE were the best. Quick lines but a bit of a wait since each bowl is different and none are premade. Clean interiors and a few places to sit and eat but most people were here for takeout during my lunch hour. Check your menus for potential allergens since the prepping stations are shared and there were nuts in some dishes as well as chicken or strawberries. I ordered the Chinatown salad which is like your typical chinese chicken salad, with a soy dressing. The worker had recommended it to me and I have to say I am very content. For the dressing I picked half and half, and chose medium tossed in (you can pick light, medium, or heavy on the dressing; I won't skimp out on dressings for my salad, I'd say the medium was a lot. If you're a saucy person this is probably a good pick). The bowl came with a pita bread too! The portion was definitely generous, I don't usually expect to a salad to come with that much greens and protein! Definitely will be coming by to try more salads and possibly the wraps!
