Staying in the area the night before a cruise and found Simply on yelp. Ordered online and absolutely loved the salads. They delivered to our hotel lobby before the stated delivery time! Good options for the salad itself and good add ons as well. Added a piece of fish for protein. I love a good chopped salad and this place did not disappoint. Been here a few times now and always satisfied! Customized the Cobb salad to include kale, arugula and steak (instead of chicken) and it was delicious. Ordered ahead and it was ready on time when I picked it up. There wasn't a fork in my takeout bag, so had to grab one in the back by the soda machine. Glad I checked before I left! Lord, where do I begin? So today started off pretty good, until I went to pick up my order. As I walked in one of the associates greeted me with a smile, a hello and a how can I help you. At that time, I proceeded to let her know that I was there to pick up my online order and before she was able to grab my order, here comes the manager rushing in to set me straight! As she tried to put my order into the bag, the owner began to grab my order dismissing her and felt the need to tell me that the side of ranch dressing is not for special introductions. But let me remind you there is no place in the app where you can add an extra ranch. So I asked for in the ranch in the app (special instruction), which he was so furious that I did that. He went on to say,I'll give it to you for free this time but normally I would have to pay for it in person, which doesn't make sense. Now just to remind you this is not my first time at this location,so I know the drill. When I walked in I had my bank card ready and I didn't hesitate to pay for the ranch.That had to be one of the most embarrassing moments I have ever had. It's funny I started this review awhile back and now the menu has changed. Now they don't put salad dressing on your salad when you order pick and you can order as many as you like. I guess it takes awhile to get it right. But I'm happy that they figured it out and I hope to never have to see him again! read more

Simply Salad is an understatement because this restaurant offers such a wide variety of flavors that it's difficult to choose just one. I actually love salads I'm general. I love the crispness of greens, the umami of veggies, and the acidic sweetness of dressings. So, I was hoping this place would hit the spot and it did! I ordered the Chinatown which is pretty much a Chinese Chicken Salad. It was a good salad--not splendid but definitely good. The veggies and greens were fresh. The vinaigrette packed a punch of flavor. Definitely refreshing. My only complaint is the chicken. It tasted old...not juicy or savory. Kind of like cardboard. If I were to ever order a salad from this spot again, I'd defer the meat in favor of tofu. I ordered for delivery so I'm not sure about service. Everything was packed so well and neatly that I'm guessing the workers are diligent and thoughtful. read more

Found this place while stopping off at one of my hot spots the other day. Food: The salads are amazing, and they also serve a couple of soup options as well. I ordered the Chinatown salad with East Asian Soy dressing and the Thai it up salad with Thai Peanut dressing, and they did not disappoint. The portions are large, the flavors are amazing, the dressing can be added into the salad or on the side, and you have options to add extra vegetables and proteins for an added cost. Proteins are seared tuna, salmon, shrimp, chicken, bacon, and grilled steak. I have also had the Downtown Cobb salad also a good choice if you like boiled eggs in your salad. The buff salad has buffalo chicken and comes with buffalo sauce as the dressing and its comes with large sliced Jalapeños. If you dont like the heat, stay away from the Buff salad. They sell wraps as well. They do sell soft drinks, lemonade, and tea. Note: Sometimes, the dressing amount on the side seems to be small and doesn't really cover the salad. Service: The service is good and the staff is nice. They are always smiling and seem to have fun making your salads or wraps. They are communicative when they need to step away from the register to help on the food line, but they return quickly, so you're not waiting to order. When ordering, you have to be specific because they sell salads and wraps as options, so be sure to clarify. If you forget the staff is great about asking. Atmosphere: It's a small spot with very little seating. However, they are located right next to a large outside seating space, so it helps with eating at the location. I haven't seen anyone eating at the restaurant yet, but it seems to be more of a to-go spot. Price: Salads are about $12.25-$14.75, a little expensive for a salad, but again, it is a large portion but still pricey, definitely not an everyday spot for me based on cost. Wraps are not too far from salads at $12.00-$14.25, average. The bummer about this place is for any extra vegetables. It's 50 cents for each vegetable and about $4.00-$4.50 for added protein. So if you add 3 extra vegetables and one protein, your salad could be an additional $7 on top of your already $12-$14 salad. Location: It's located in Gardena, CA, on the corner of Artesia blvd.
