Wife brought my son's car in for a coolant leak. Shop calls her back to say that they need to make a $300 repair before they can run more diagnostics. They call back to say that we need a new engine - new head gasket best case. $3K, give or take. Now this car isn't worth that - something that's pretty obvious to everyone. I called the shop after I heard that story. Wanted to know if they'd told her before she authorized the first repair what they would be testing for afterwards and what it might cost to fix *that*. Long story short - nope. Guy says he isn't gonna guess at what a repair might cost and she couldn't have made any other decision than pay the $300 and find out what comes next anyway. Maybe you think that's a fair ball, maybe you don't. Me, I don't think you gotta be ASE certified to understand "you gotta spend $300 to find out you might have to spend another $3k. On a car you couldn't sell for that if it was working." Doesn't make it easy, but it's a choice any one of us can make. So is "I'm gonna need a second opinion, what do I owe you for the diagnostic?" But you gotta have the info and this guy didn't give it to her. Like I said, you have to decide whether or not you think he played fair. But while you're thinking, I'll tell you one more thing: the shop we went to next can't find anything wrong with that head gasket. Choose wisely, friends. read more

Well Done Guys On Impeccable Customer Service. It's not too often when you find businesses who take care of their clients without ripping them off financially and the service that they claim to provide. In this case not only was he honest but he didn't beat around the bush. They are affordable too. Currently they are running a special that you can take your car up there and get a diagnostic on it for $40. It will only take them up to two hours to check it out. I'm glad I found out about them. I am a big person on supporting local businesses especially within my neighborhood and unfortunately I cannot support this business any longer. Myself and my family have brought our cars to the shop for the past year and we have run across issues every single time our cars have been in the shop. The first two times they supposedly fixed the issue only for us to pick up the car and drive it around to realize that the car had not been fixed and then have to bring it back for them to realize that they made a mistake and did not fix it the first time. This most recent time I brought my car and explained what was going on, we personally hooked up the car to a reader a shared with them the codes that came up. Part of the service I had to pay a diagnosis fee for them to hopefully further determine what is actually wrong. They then told me what the issue was so i decided to move forward and pay for the repairs thinking my car would be fixed. Not too much of a surprise to find that after picking up the car, it was back to having almost the same issues as before almost as if nothing had been fixed. We bring it back within an hour of picking it up into only for them to tell me that there are more issues going on that they didn't detect before. One of the owners even said it's probably best getting out of the car and getting a new one. Extremely frustrated as I feel I wasted money this most recent trip when I could've either taken it somewhere else who would have properly diagnosed my car before paying money or just got out of my car altogether. read more

Took my 2011 Ford Escape into Sincere on a Thursday. The transmission was shifting hard and jerking while driving (a/c was going out but that wasn't the main concern) I took it in first thing Thursday morning expecting to have a diagnosis by the next day. I didn't hear anything Friday (annoyed but kept my cool and chalked it up to them being busy). We didn't hear from them all day Monday either so my husband called that evening. They told us it would be $550+ out the door. We informed them we had a warranty and they told us they would call us back. When they called us back they said the problem was a right axel seal leak which wasn't covered however they could fix it for $296. We said fine, fix it. They informed us that it would be ready Tuesday. We went to pick the car up the next day. Everything seemed to be ok. It was still shifting hard and jerking while driving but I didn't think anything of it. Fast forward to Thursday into Friday and there is large amounts of brown/red fluid coming from under my car... my husband told me not to drive it that weekend and we would take it back to the shop. He called Sincere Friday afternoon and spoke with Ron who gave his word it would get high priority on Monday. We said fine and thank you. Monday rolls around and it gets to be 5:30pm and we still have not heard anything. My husband gets on the phone (a little upset but...) and speaks to Ron. My husband asks to know what is wrong with the car. When an answer cannot be produced my husband asks what happened. We were told that it was processed wrong that morning and was put into regular rotation. Upset, my husband wanted to know when the car would be looked at and was told it would be Tuesday. I brought a car in that held its fluid and was sent home with one that didn't. I will say that if I get my car back and it's in good order I will up the rating but until then this is what stands. read more

Just to let everyone on the Eastside of Indianapolis and the Circle City, for the past 10 years, my wife and I have been taking our cars to have repairs done at Sincere Auto Care. What really impressed me, from the very beginning, was that the Owners and Staff have been right up front about the car repair issues we faced on each car 1997 Honda Civic, LX and my 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The Owners, "Ron's Family Car Repair Team," as I personally refer to them, are always very detailed in explaining the current issues we face with each car, try to get the best deals on necessary parts for the current work needing to be done (in a priority list) and taking very personal care of keeping us up-to-date with progress on the repairs...and best of all, how soon we can pick the cars up and get our family members to all events! They are fantastic in my opinion! read more

For those who want to get their car truly fixed steer Clear. I had taken my wife's Jeep compass in to get checked out as it did not start or stay on very long without it idling and die. We had left it there over four days while we're on vacation and we are got a call on the third day that it was fixed we paid for it over the phone which was nice and that was convenient. The downside and most upsetting part is I was told it was fixed and they solve the issue when we picked it up and turned it on it immediately gave the check engine light again and was reading the same codes that we took it in for as I have a code scanner. Flash for two days as we got it on a Sunday they spent more time with it and one of the Ron's said that he pinpoint it down to two possible issues the youngest one when we picked it up stated that there should be no reason why the codes are still on it and the way it's acting. If you truly fix something there shouldn't be a reason why something is still going on. They clearly do not stand behind their work and just pawn it off on some other problem. it would have been nice to know that after $400 of repairs it is still not driveable. Please rethink taking tour car to them. read more

In fact, I came to Sincere upon the recommendation of a friend to get a second opinion. Not only was their quote cheaper, but Ron and his team are completely trustworthy. Do NOT use Sincere. In all of my auto repair experiences, this was the absolute worst. Not only did they screw us on one car, but got us on two vehicles. Personal property and money was also stolen from one car while on their lot. We took our Honda to have new brakes on. It took way too long, but we thought everything was done correctly and left there happy. Two weeks later, we took in a new Nissan we bought to have checked out and any possible repairs done. We wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with the motor and clarified that it was our main concern. After what we were told was a thorough check, we were informed that the motor was just fine, but the car needed some upgrades and maintenance, totaling $1300. Although that was a lot, we were relieved that it was not the motor. We went ahead with the work order. When we got the Nissan back, the Honda's brakes started smoking and squealing again, this being only a month after they were repaired. We took it back and had them fixed again, ignoring the inconvenience of being without the vehicle for another week. By this time, the Nissan was acting strange again. We decided to get a second opinion and took it to Black Forrest motors. Imagine our shock and disgust to discover that the engine was actually blown and the car was worthless as a result. It would end up costing us what we paid for it to have a new motor put in by them. When I went back to Sincere about it, they merely said, "That stuff happens." No offers of a refund or explanation. We were out $1300, spent on a useless car. To add fuel to the fire, Black Forrest noticed that the expensive repairs were not even done correctly. So, unless you want to be ripped off, have shabby work, property and money stolen from your vehicle...avoid Sincere like the plague. read more

Very disappointed in the quality of work on my vehicle. Went in for an oil change took my car home put it the garage and the next day found oil all over the floor of my garage!! When I went up there to tell them Ronnie just said "well sorry we just dropped the ball, the mechanic must of forgot to screw the cap back on". Dropped the ball!! If I'd decided to go anywhere else that day besides home I'd been sitting on the side of the road with my engine messed up!! On top of that Ronnie admitted that one of his mechanics forgot to tighten the lug nuts on another customer's car.....guess that was just another ball dropped on their part. And this is after I'd already given them previous business fixing other things on my car, spending big money with them, and this is how they respond to such an egregious error on their part. Not to mention bad communication and unprofessionalism. I understand they've been in business for a long time however being in business that long they should have learned to value their customer and not just throw one away because they messed up. NEVER WOULD RECOMMEND INSINCERE AUTO. read more

My husband's recently purchased truck began acting up, the cause couldn't be found. Someone where he worked recommended Sincere, so husband took truck there to have the problem diagnosed. They were quite busy, he had to leave the truck there overnite, no problems regarding vehicle break-ins or vandalism. When problem was diagnosed, the owner took his time to clearly explain the issues, & recommended that out of the possibilities, 1 or 2 sensors were usually responsible for the problem & to try replacing them 1st before he went deeper. Husband purchased both sensors elsewhere, did the repairs himself, & thanks to Sincere's diagnostics, truck is now running like a well oiled piece of machinery. We appreciate the extra time the owner gave us. We'd go back. Please note that we did not have them do any actual repairs so I can't attest to the quality of repair work, but I HAVE noticed they do quite a lot of business, so that speaks volumes too. Might I also mention that the waiting room is very clean, has some beautiful plants, & a reasonably priced candy machine! Thank you, Sincere! read more
