First thing I noticed was the beautiful Thai artwork decorations and sculptures on the walls the tables. They were thoughtful to put us near the back room as we had a 1yr old baby. With special needs (peanut and egg allergies). The server asked us to join him at the buffet and he explained which of the foods she could eat. I was really surprised with the garlic shrimp rice and chicken wings, very good flavor. Along with the jalapeño pepper steak. The quality of this buffet is just the right size to ensure fresh choices. My only three complaints was a few of the egg rolls were were mixed with the fresh ones getting close to past due "un-fresh taste" not awful, but if you make your own egg rolls? You can tell the difference between made today and made before and reheated. And EFY egg foo young? Not very Thai but I'm guessing some one likes this. I am just not a fan of EFY. Ask me some other time it's kind of a long story. Our server was very good at checking on us for water and clearing plates he was friendly along with the other staff greeting the little one. This is located in a strip shopping center plenty of parking and a nice neighborhood to walk around after getting your fill. I've been searching all over for Haw Mok Gai since 2004 and was very excited to see what seemed to be a version of it on Singha Thai's menu - Hou Mok Pla! But it wasn't the same. The Haw Mok Gai I'm used to has a very unique taste which is provided by dried kampfer. This must be a hard-to-find ingredient or maybe not commonly used because I've found both the dish and the ingredient literally nowhere in all my travels. But the Hou Mok Pla I had here at Singha Thai was ok. Being vegan, I asked for it to be made with tofu and they did so. A little bland and unexciting, but not bad. The appetizer of fried tofu was very, very dry and the sauce, while tasty, didn't help overcome the dryness. My boyfriend's Pad Thai was also just ok, he said it was a bit too sweet for his liking. We've eaten here a handful of times, spread out over the course of 25 years, and it's always been the same. We keep hoping it will get better. It doesn't, but at least it hasn't gotten worse. This is a very middle-of-the-road place, don't let the huge menu fool you. And why do they have white paper covering their nice-looking placemats? I don't understand that at all. read more

We live in the cultural desert of Walworth County, so if we're anywhere near Singha Thai, we'll either stop in for a meal, or at least pick up something to take home. Visited at 12:45 on a weekday. Do not have the buffet. First the selection is small - no soup - and not even a cookie for dessert. Fried rice was dry. Three entrees only had about two spoonsfuls left and they never refilled. Egg foo young was completely out. Fried chicken only had about ten small greasy pieces in the bottom of the pan. Stumbled upon this place while trying to find a quick bite before we watched the Christmas lights in the park. The service is impeccable, and the food is awesome. Started out with an order of spring rolls and egg rolls. Very fresh and delicious. Main course was beef Thai rice, and beef, broccoli over white rice. Recent first time visit during lunch for 3. Didn't realize there was a small buffet but we were set on items from menu. Not much to look at on the outside but very quaint and clean once inside. Not crowded this day so the staff was friendly, fast and attentive. Everything came out hot and delicious. Portions were huge and server package leftovers with care. When we got to our destination with the food, we discovered that they'd completely left out the spring rolls from our order, and the wontons were lukewarm, because they'd packed part of the meal earlier while the rest was still being prepared. This was the first Thai restaurant I had ever been to and it turned me into a huge fan of the cuisine! Located in the strip mall at the corner of highway 100 and Lincoln Ave. in West Allis, parking is fairly easy to access and there is plenty of it. I have never tried the buffet, so I can't speak to that, but the plates always have a generous amount of food, usually necessitating a take out container. I have to give it 4 stars though, because the menu is so large. Yes, choice is a good thing, but over 100 menu items is not just excessive, it is quite time consuming to read the descriptions of each item offered, especially if you've never had Thai food before. Really, really, really good food. I would give it 5 stars if it was a tad less greasy. Still, this place hits the spot. Went here with my parents on a Saturday night. It was fairly busy, but we got a table right away. Service was very attentive in bringing us our food and drinks, as well as filling up our water glasses. The ambiance is a little dark, but the decor is fitting for the restaurant. The food. Pud Thai - probably the best I've ever had. Get it. Seriously. Racha Chicken - you get SO MUCH CHICKEN. Yes it's $20 for one dish but you could feed a small village with the amount of food that you get. And its good. Really good. They managed to keep the chicken crispy even though it's smothered in a delicious sauce, bravo. Panang Beef - Good, but a little too spicy for my taste. They didn't indicate on the menu that it was going to be as spicy as it was. But the flavor is very good. You also get a huge bowl of white rice with your dishes. I've been to Singha Thai a few times. Was so surprised to find a good Thai restaurant in a strip mall on Highway 100! Just look for the huge sign for Health Hut and turn into their parking lot, sumptuous Thai favorites await you. My son loves their Pepper steak with green peppers, snow peas, mushrooms and savory gravy. I've had it too, and it's good! I prefer Singha's take on curry, whether it's their Panang Curry or Coconut curry, I'm usually pleasantly surprised at receiving MORE vegetables in the curry than are advertised on the menu. Singha is a good place for groups- and I knew we were in the right place when a group of 10 retirees (the cultured kind that looked like they hit up Museums together on a weekly basis) were at the big table, and looked like Singha regulars! The fried tofu tasted like it had been fried long ago and heated up in a microwave. Tough and rubbery. The vegetarian curry had a rancid taste of something very wrong. Something in the flavor reminded of the smell of death. Two bites and the fork was put down forever. They were nice enough not to charge me but the damage was done. This place is the reason I'm writing my first Yelp review. First, I love Thai food. My family lived in Thailand for 20 years and I've eaten my way through the north, middle and south of Thailand. THIS PLACE DOES NOT MAKE THAI FOOD. They use Thai names for the dishes, but not Thai ingredients and everything comes out looking and tasting awful. My red seafood curry (pud ped talay for a whopping $25.00) was bland, chocked full of imitation crab, and contained exactly zero scallops, which the menu said came in the dish. I'd ordered it spicy, but the brownish, ugly curry they brought me had apparently just met the sliced jalapeño peppers on my plate because the sauce was bland and not spicy at all and the jalapeño peppers were just sort of there - mostly uncooked and awkwardly pretending to be part of an authentic Thai dish. Zero Thai chilis in my dish, almost no basil, no lime or lemongrass flavor, and did I mention 50% of the plate was imitation crab? My mom got veggie fried rice and I was so embarrassed for it when it came out I wanted to put a napkin over it and pretend it wasn't there. It's color could only be described as "universally brownish", it had almost no scent, and I couldn't find any fried egg, cucumber, lime, or chilis in it. Looked like it was made by a mad old Russian lady. I didn't even try it but my mom did. Had a few bites and left the rest on the table when we left. Didn't even want to bring it home to the dog for fear of tricking the dog into thinking that's what Thai food tastes like. They had no fish sauce on the table, the "chili sauce" in the squeeze bottle on the table was runny, bland, and just weird, and they don't even give you a spoon unless you ask for one. Thais eat most of their food with a spoon because it's easier to scoop up curry and rice with a spoon than a fork, and the fact that I had to ask for a spoon at a "Thai" restaurant is as messed up as their version of Thai food at this place. If your favorite Thai dish is chop sewey (it was seriously on the menu at this place - $12.99), this is the place for you. If you're in the mood for Thai food like I was all day today stay a million miles away from this place. I just wish I could put a big enough napkin over it so we could all pretend it's not there. read more

No authentic Thai food found here. The majority of the dishes are Chinese. (Coming from a Asian guy, who was born in Thailand.) I don't get what is all the fuss about? The place has a Thai theme & the front disk may speak Thai but the food ain't Thai. The lunch buffet was over priced and only had Chinese food. The menu had over 100 dishes (No Thai restaurant ever has over 100 different dishes). Food was okay, service and food were fast. Don't know if it is because we are Asian but I am a little annoyed that tip was automatically added when there was only two of us. We noticed that the white couple next to us did not have gratuity added. Not only was it added to the bill but when they ran the card and brought us the receipt to sign; the receipt was already filled in.
