Heartbroken to learn that this place will be closing on Sept 28th. They have some of the best gluten free desserts we've ever tried - their cream puffs and mini tarts are to die for. I heard they're taking some desserts over to 401K, their gluten free sister restaurant, but we're still soooo sad to hear about their closure. Everyone was always so kind there, and their selection was fantastic. I will be following along to hear of any news; a few of us have asked for a gluten free cookbook to recreate those incredible treats and the owner said it's in the works! We picked the vegan coconut passion fruit cheesecake and the flourless chocolate cake topped with mixed berries. The berries were plump and fresh. The coconut cheesecake tasted like the siggis coconut yogurt. The crust was made from dates as the binder and some type of nut for the crispy part. I thought walnut but my partner thought it was biscoff. I'd order the passion fruit cheesecake again. My partner enjoyed his flourless chocolate cake. He said it was rich and decadent. The BEST spot for gluten-free desserts and baked goods maybe anywhere! My wife has Celiac so we're always looking for good treats she can eat and this place is one of her favorites. The MUST GET items are definitely the Tres Leches Cake, any Cheesecake, the Lemon Bars, and the Cheddar, Bacon, and Chive Scones. This is one of the best bakeries in the city. Sinners are their regular items and Saints are their gluten-free items. We only get their gluten-free items and the people we've shared them with can't even tell they're gluten-free until we say something. The sugar cookies (which they only do for holidays) are phenomenal. We keep bugging the owner to make something like them year round. We're either wearing her down or annoying the crap out of her; that's how good they are. The peanut-butter sandwich cookies are unlike most peanut butter cookies you've had in the past. A perfect blend of cookie dough and peanut butter filling The chocolate chip pumpkin loaf is simply excellent. We've brought loaves to family functions and they're always the first dessert item finished and asked about. The cupcakes and cakes (we've gotten a birthday cake here, I believe cinnamon vanilla) are super solid. The only thing they're missing is their bread selection that you can order at their sister restaurant 401k, a few doors down. The employees are fun and social. They know their bakery stuff too. Please everyone don't go here because it is over price for a desert costing 15.00 for a small desert. They are over inflating the cost of food. Secondly the original store closed down umm wonder why? I hadn't been to my favorite dessert Emporium/super patisserie and had their saintly gluten-free amazing desserts for a while. So on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, I drove down Venice Boulevard past my high school alma mater, Venice High arriving at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Lincoln Boulevard where the road ends if you're hunting for the best Gluten-free and regular assorted desserts at Sinners and Saints. The Sinners, of course, are the wheateaters. I dawdled while inside talking to a few customers, one being her first time and with the two wait staff. I might be gluten intolerant but I'm not glutton intolerant and if I could order one of everything I would. I choose my favorite, the best GF Tres Leches Cake that is heavenly; a fantastic GF Tiramisu that melts in your mouth; a small lemon tart and a bacon, cheese and chive scone. I took these home and I'm doling them out slowly so I can eat saintly for as long as possible. I left with an excellent salted caramel latte. (I posted the pics separately). I didn't feel like popping these bad boys in the microwave but I have a feeling they would be next level. The Bread pudding was very good with a nice crunchy exterior. The gf and non-gf options were all just sitting out together, no wrapping or anything. I don't really understand the concept of being gluten free if you don't need to be, and if you're able to risk cross contamination at this level then, you don't really need to be.
