Another great coffeeshop in Minneapolis! This seems like a great spot to do some studying, meet up with a friend, or just stop in for a quiet moment with a drink. There is an extensive drink menu, and a variety of desserts also available. Lots of tables and booths in the space for settling into. I had the Royal Latte (Chocolate and Pistachio) and it was so delightfully rich and silky. Absolutely warmed me up on a wet and chilly day. I tried their cookie butter latte! They have an option to make it less sweet and I loved her recommendation! The biscoff cold foam blends perfectly with the drink itself. Tons to like about this cafe. The two coffees I've had were really interesting, especially the one where I ordered an Horchata De Morro and asked for an expresso shot. That is a really different horchata, let me tell you. It's Salvadoran-style, which has a nuttier flavor then the Mexican-style horchata I usually see. (If you want to be sure you like it, they'll give you a sample!) But also the Banana Shaken Latte was a really nice cold brew beverage. Not overly sweet; the banana flavor was more subtle than overpowering. And I got one of the paninis and I liked it a lot! I got the Salvadoran Panini and I loved it; there is one other kind and they are both very reasonably priced. And I had a date ball that was an awesome treat, and a little oreo cheesecake cup which was not at all disappointing. When I came it on Sunday at noon the place was packed and I had to humbly ask for a corner of someone else's table. But one day later it was almost empty and very, very quiet. Either way the ambiance is student-friendly and very pleasant. Look at that tree-thing! Paid street parking is all I could find, but it's walking distance from the East Bank campus as well as the Stadium Village light rail station. read more

Such a cute spot! I love the layout inside, there's plenty of tables and the windows let in lots of natural light. They play calming jazz music quietly in the background which was nice for studying. It's right by campus so I just walked over after class. The coffee was great, I got an iced caramel latte and it was cheaper than some of the other coffee shops nearby. The barista was friendly and made the coffee quickly too. I'll definitely be back! read more

Was in the area and decided to stop and check them out after seeing them on IG. The menu is pretty solid when classic coffee shop options and they have some seasonal options as well. I went with a Horchata cold brew. Wasn't really what I was expecting flavor wise and I probably wouldn't get it again but would definitely check out some other drinks. My cousin got the Pecan latte and said it lacked flavor. The staff informed me that they were out of a few things to make certain drinks and they were unable to make waffles. Something about a vendor delay. They still had a lot to offer. The space is super cute. Lots of seating, well spaced out. I believe they also have a prayer room which is cool. First time here. Saw an ad for it and was intrigued that it was a Palestinian inspired coffee shop. This place is on the UMN Twin Cities campus. I was lucky enough to find parking right in front since parking can be a little difficult around the campus near University Ave. Walking inside, I saw a lot of post it note messages on the glass and liked the fact I could right a little note and stick it on the glass too. I happened to write "Free the Palestinian Children". The seating was nicely spread out and spacious. The atmosphere reminded me of a minimalist style business center. There's a really nice vibrant bonsai type tree in there that's very pretty. Also a prayer room which I've never seen in a coffee shop before. I ordered the pecan pie latte since they were out of the pistachio mix. My original choice was the Dubai mocha. I'll have to try it next time. The pecan pie latte was ok, didn't have much flavor but the quality of the coffee was pretty good. I like my coffee with some more spice and flavor. Staff was friendly and hard working. Overall a decent place if you're in the area. read more

Wanted to come here to support a local business (owned by a Palestinian and Salvadorian couple)! Came with my husband and our friends and loved how there were board games to play while enjoying our food and lattes! I liked the royal mocha and churro late quite a lot but would love to come back earlier when they have more sweet treats available (had my eyes on the horchata bun, but we came too late). We also tried their sandwiches and loved them both! It's a nice spot near UoM Which is great for the students. There's street parking but also close by the green line if you wanted to take public transit in. Can't wait to be back and try their other drinks read more

I was walking by on a sunny day and noticed a new to me cafe, so I stopped in. Apparently, they were still in the soft opening phase. The space is bright and welcoming so I instantly liked it! I had a nice chat with the person working there. Sip of Silk is Salvadoran-Palestinian and the creative menu options are a breath of fresh air! Such a cool new spot -- the first-ever Palestinian & Salvadoran café in America, right here in Minnesota! I loved their vibe -- cozy, welcoming, and full of students studying since it's so close to the U of M campus. The iced americano was solid (a bit mid), but their horchata and signature drinks were absolutely amazing -- honestly the best horchata I've had in Minnesota. I also love that they stay open late, which is super rare and perfect for late-night study sessions or hangouts. Only thing I didn't love was the background music -- it seemed like national songs or anthems, which kind of threw off the chill café atmosphere. I was able to try the new coffee spot in Stadium Village called Sip of Silk. The inside of the shop is really nice with a good amount of seating, although it was a little crowded when I went in. Parking is somewhat accessible but you do have to pay. The service was great and really helpful, and they gave me some solid recommendations. They serve a mix of Palestinian and Salvadoran items, which is pretty unique. As for the food, I was not a fan of the cheesecake. It is more light and subtle, and I prefer a thicker and sweeter style with more flavor. I also tried the horchata and did not really like that either since it has sesame and peanuts, which I am not very used to, but if you like Salvadoran horchata this would be a good spot. I did get the Arabian coffee and that was very good, definitely something I am going back for. They also serve it in a full pot if you want multiple cups, although it is strong. read more

No, it was political statement, likely by a customer. ;) They do, indeed, serve iced drinks, and darned good ones as well. Sip of Silk is a wonderful spot for great coffee in a calm, inviting atmosphere. The winter-themed drinks are so fun and trendy, and they're just as good as they are creative, with really nice flavor. The staff were efficient and kind, which made the experience even better. It's a quiet, relaxed setting--perfect for a coffee date or getting some studying done. A nice bonus is the metered parking right outside, which makes stopping in super convenient. Definitely a place I'd come back to. read more
