The costumed crowd at the 80s Thrilla Halloween party they do every year. It's the best!
    Fiana S.

Sister is my favorite bar in Albuquerque. I'm not much of a bar person, but they're great. The signature cocktails are delicious and contain the perfect mixture of interesting flavors and combinations. The food is delicious and fun and caters well to vegetarians and vegans as well as meat eaters- though I will say my friends and I are sad they've changed the menu and gotten rid of tacos except for specials, and burritos. The breaded cauliflower ones were so good. They host 80s parties, most notably the Halloween 80s music video Thrilla party every year, and it's so much fun. They also host a lot of live music artists, and I've seen a couple good ones there. The mood inside is dark and a cool kind of spooky even when it's not Halloween. There are also tables and booths out front to be able to sit outside. I feel comfortable in the atmosphere there and tend to feel like the crowd and clientele are friendly and fun.

Great ambiance just to relax and have some good finger bites. The Staff is quite friendly and the service is amazing.

When in Rome, you do roman things and when in Downtown ABQ, I guess you go to Sister. I had spent a few days in ABQ and Sister was definitely on my list of the best bars to visit. Everyone I met in ABQ essentially screamed that I had to visit this place and I am so flipping happy that I did. I actually came here twice, both times were mega fun, but different in their own ways. OK, my first night I was at Sister, they had a 90s night. I LOVE to dance so this was totally up my alley. I walked in and there were hoards of people on the dance floor getting their groove on. The music was pretty good too. I made sure to make my way onto the floor to have some time to shake it a little. It eventually got a little too crowded for my liking and I went to another bar. I enjoyed my dancing experience though. 2nd time was my last night in NM, I went with a new friend and I actually was able to taste the food. It was sunday and quieter than the first night I went. Now, I hadn't had the best experience with food in ABQ, but the person I went with urged me to try the tacos and I am so happy that I did. They were amazing. Dare I say?...the best food I had in NM. Most definitely. The atmosphere is really nice here too. There are a few pin ball machines (if thats your thing) to play while having a nice cocktail. I didn't try my hand at those, but I appreciate a barcade. All in all, I really wish I had spent more time at Sister. I think my food experiences would have been more positive if I ate more here. It was cute, fun, and if I ever find myself in the area again, this will be the first place I go.

BLT & Avocado Toast... a day before everything was shut down. So so soooo good. Their food is always amazing and never disappoints. The Kimchi tots we just got yesterday. Oh em gee. They are so amazing and I still want more. Tacos, fries, pies, tots. All of it.

Front door clerk who had poor ID recognition.

Horrible service!!!! Myself (24) and 3 other friends (28)(24)(25), were bar hopping and wanted to play pinball so decided to go to sister . The worker at the door said out IDs were fake , which they are NOT!!!! Never had this issue ever . I can't believe they would let us in. We didn't even wanna drink, we just wanted to play pinball. Completely killed the night. Had multiple people look at our ID and they all said they couldn't trust us. They're New Mexico IDs so I'm not to sure if they need to further their education on REAL IDs !!! This was the "lady" not letting us in. PATHETIC. Wouldn't recommend. Also I was just there 2 days ago with the same friends and they let us in no issue. we told them that but they knew it all !!

Ex Novo lager and the rich girl cocktail so yummy!

I come to this place often and it is such a great hang out spot! Recently they have updated their menu with more cocktails which are absolutely fantastic! I ordered the rich girl which had a cantaloupe base in it and it was so delicious and refreshing. They have a ton of local beers too which are great for the guys. My boyfriend ordered the Ex Novo Lager which was really flavorful. The ambiance was on point for a Thursday night! I have also tried their food my favorite thing on the menu is the green chili stew highly recommend! If you are looking to get a drink with friends maybe a bite to eat this is a great place!

I really like this bar. Great vibes, cool space, good drinks. The depth of the 'fries & tots' menu doesn't hurt either.

When does their kitchen close on weekday?

Do they have happy hour? If so, what days and times?

Yes, Sister Bar's happy hour is daily from 5-6pm. Half off draught beers and house cocktails.

    Is Sister Bar locally owned?

I dare say yes. According to Local Flavor Magazine (http://www.localflavormagazine.com/ooh-ahh-albuquerque/), "The bar Sister, owned by Ross Sorce, Doug Albin and Jesus Zamora (all three long-time employees of the pool hall and bar upstairs,… Read more

Of course we had to get the green beer! Sitting outside, enjoying the sunshine with a cold drink in hand, it felt like the perfect way to celebrate. But the real highlight? The Highland cows I mean... how often do you get to sip a beer AND pet adorable, fluffy cows wearing little festive hats?! It was such a unique touch that made the whole event stand out from your typical bar scene. Marble always delivers on a great beer selection, but events like this take it to another level. If you're looking for a brewery that goes all out for holidays and creates a fun, memorable experience--this is the spot. Already looking forward to next year!

It was the first brewery that a friend took me to and I have continued to return. Yes, I have been to many of the other breweries that have popped up around town, but I still come back to Marble. Why? Beer is excellent. Service is also excellent. Both the inside atmosphere and the outside patio are very comfortable. Food? They don't have food. Well, wait a minute . . . they always have food trucks. Many a dinner has come from one of the conveniently located food trucks right outside their front patio. Always good. Large parking lot. And live music happens on designated evenings. Are they the best in town? Not sure, but they definitely have something unique that keeps bringing me back.

The space has been flipped around so the bar is on the opposite side it used to be. The bar is larger but the space is the same size leaving the seating area a bit cramped. Service was well enough I believe it was their first day of service so they are finding their footing. I did not try a signature cocktail however, expect to spend $15-$17 which I guess is standard these days. I had a vodka soda (my go-to) and we went outside. The patio is much more open compared to the old space, and the vibe is more boho chic with funky accents and wicker chairs. They have these fun swinging chairs outside, however , I found their placement a bit odd, because they are right in front of the dual service bar top and there's only two chairs. The music was big band, and swing and the vibe was chill, it was a precursor to our next venue but still relaxing for a Sunday afternoon. Also one thing to note is that they do not serve the downstairs menu upstairs but serve "snacks". Beef jerky, nuts, that sort of thing. Go check them out and help support local. I expect to go back again soon and will update.

I'm not the biggest New Mexico fan but I respect the concept. Supporting locals is good for the local economy. 3 drink limit. Everyone gets carded, so don't be sensitive and take it personally. The Sandia Paleta has agave spirit, watermelon, lime, tabasco. Fun to try but the least favorite if I had to compare. The Lexington Lemonade has lone wolf, lemon, peach and ginger beer. Very light and refreshing. A tad sweet, but still probably my favorite drink among the three. The Jala-Back Girl has jalapeno rum, simple syrup and lime. Not too spicy, just enough spice to have a kick. Very unique. An amazing way to start the day at Moonwalk with my cousins and Joshy. Highly recommended checking this spot out if you are in the area.
