    Bulgogi kimbap.

Went back for lunch today. It's that kind of place. If you are in the area, you owe it to yourself to stop and try this lovely restaurant.

I just walked out of K bap & immediately sat in the car to review. It was clean on the inside & I was greeted with such pleasantry. The service was just as good as the food. I ordered the beef bulgogi which was very good & for the price I can eat from the portion twice. At first I was going to eat in the car, but as I waited, they offered me water & soup. Which was very kind of them. I can say that I was satisfied & if I ever get a taste for bulgogi & I'm working in Rockville. I will visit K Bap again!

    Yay! It's open!

This one feels most authentic…read more.. Before I say anything else yes, parking is limited. Why? Because it's in an area dominated by industrial businesses. Not a retail space. Boo-hoo, look around and you'll find a spot unless you're driving a yacht. Now, to the setting and the food...the setting is the way I like it. Rustic, clean, unassuming, not fancied up. Wooden privacy screens are set in between tables. (Perhaps because of Covid? Not sure.) This to me was really comfortable, didn't feel like I was stuck in a cattle car. I'm sure there's Korean BBQ here but we weren't at such a table. In fact it looked like grills had been removed from some tables and replaced with wooden covers. So nice to have that extra space because... Ordered bibimbap, bulgogi, steamed dumplings, etc. The extra side dishes I enjoy (kimchi, sprouts, etc.) were there as well. Ice tea, yadda yadda. Korean music was playing but it wasn't loud, on another screen by the kitchen I could see Family Guy. Again, not loud or intrusive. Didn't feel like they skimped on portions, there was plenty. Almost too much, wasn't sure I'd manage to finish the bulgogi but I did...mmm. Overall, this place is a nice break from other places. If you want to take someone out and just enjoy yourselves, this would be it. Perhaps a bit different when full, but still. Btw, it's been 13 years since I first went here. This week was only the second time. I totally forgot where it was or whether it was still around. So glad it is.

Andrew is genuinely one of the best servers I've had anywhere. Super professional without feeling stiff, really easy to talk to, and just completely on top of everything. He managed the grill perfectly the whole time, paced the meat so nothing felt rushed or slow, and kept the heat just right without us ever having to ask. Our table never sat empty either. Banchan refills came out fast, drinks stayed full, and everything just flowed. What stood out the most was how seamless the entire experience felt. You don't realize how much that matters until you have someone who does it this well. It made the whole meal way more enjoyable. On top of that, the food here is already great and for $45 AYCE it's honestly a steal. But having Andrew take care of us twice now is what really made me want to leave this review. If you come here, definitely ask for Andrew if you can. He elevates the whole experience.

We left the cooking and ordering up to him. We arrived ariund 730 on a Saturday and had to wait about an hour for a table. We sat at the bar and ordered soju and I had a lychee martini, which was so delicious. We went with the premium meats and started with brisket, which was good, but simple. It was perfect with the veggies and sauces that were given. The rice and soup was delicious! My husband had two rounds eventhough we told him to save room. We then had the marinated boneless short rib, which was marinated perfectly and super flavorful and tender. We also ordered fried dumplings and a few rounds of ramen. The ramen was so delicious, especially when you add more veggies and meat. Overall, great ambiance and experience. The food is great, especially if you enjoy Korean bbq. Definitely worth a visit.

I've tried it at a couple other places in the area and been underwhelmed, the one here is quite good, second only to my holy grail version which is sadly in a state I don't plan to revisit. We also had a seafood panjeon and it was excellent - tons of seafood and vegetables, a crisp breading that didn't feel doughy at all. The food was served with a couple banchan (radish, cabbage kimchi and the pickled radish + raw onion that is usually served with jjajangmyeon). The prices are great for Korean food; the jjajangmyeon was 10.99, pancake 19.99 and hubs and I brought about half of each home. We probably could have gotten away with just ordering one or the other but having leftovers is golden. We'll be back to try some other items on the menu!

Our food was made to order and came out quite fast, we can hear the uncle (assuming) in the back firing up the wok. The lady spoke both Korean and Chinese, and we learned they're from Yan Bian. We ordered the jajang myun and tang su yuk combo, and a sulluntang. The sizes were not enormous, but good sized for us 2 people. All the dishes were solid. The sulluntang brother was rich, when it cooled it formed a nice "skin" layer on top. It's made with juicy brisket and noodles, comes with white rice as standard. Tang su yuk was crispy. Highly recommend this place, seems very homey and like a mom and pop run place. Would def return when I'm craving Korean-Chinese food again!

I ordered a tofu soup with miso base and a kimchi pancake for the table. The pajeon was so appetizing I may have forgotten to take a picture before we dug in, and the tofu soup was just very warming. The predominant flavor of the kimchi jjigage was gochugaru. The haemul pajeon didn't have much seafood and came with several burnt spots. The japchae was extremely oily and included very few vegetables. I make better Korean food at home just by watching Maangchi videos. Speaking of videos, the only reason I found this place was through a TikTok, which offered a rave review and showed a packed restaurant. I guess this is how I know FoodTok has officially reached the mainstream, because I'm seeing more and more staged scenarios and dubious opinions. The only thing anybody had anything positive to say about was the rice, which was technically perfect. There is an old adage that goes, "you can judge a restaurant based on how well they cook their rice." But if you have a table full of food and the only thing people want to finish is the rice, then you've got a whole other problem.
