This is a clean and cute quick eats place. We just got a tuna kimbap to go but the inside is very bright and airy. I would say the kimbap is much lighter compared to most traditional ones, but we liked it. Service was great, there was a Korean (I think?) uncle there who greeted us with a big smile, and the other staff was great and offered us water while we waited for our to go order.

Went back for lunch today. It's that kind of place. If you are in the area, you owe it to yourself to stop and try this lovely restaurant.

Small spot, big flavor. Bulgogi kimbap was amazing, perfectly balanced with fillings. Would definitely come again.

    Yay! It's open!

(TLDR: All-around YAY in every way! A big 'Woo-hoo!' too! :-D) Exciting new restaurant in Rockville! What a fresh, clean, inviting and open space decorated by someone who clearly has a high aesthetic sensibility .... The hearty portions of food are delicious, served saucily (with sauce on the side) with a smile. Everyone here is so nice! There is plenty of parking nearby, including disability-marked spots and there is also a ramp to get up, with a large door to get in. What's really amazing about this place is how large it feels -- from the outside, it seems so small but once inside, it opens up magically into a world of tasty, healthy meals ... and a selection of frozen desserts one may peruse through the glass door of the freezer case by the counter, where food is ordered before being brought cheerily to one of the four white tables. The chairs, walls, and floor all being white adds to the feeling of increased space where once it was so crowded .... What a transformation, wow! Of course, this particular portion of this review won't apply to anyone who hasn't been in this space before but for those who have, wow! Just wow! It could be said to be very minimalist -- reduced to the absolute essentials ... with a few added extras for maximum yumminess and enjoyment! The framed art on the walls is most especially pleasing to the eye for those who appreciate such things -- and the beautiful-yet-simple, down-to-Earth placemats all come together to create a visually unique and special dining experience -- before the filling food even arrives .... Satiation is achieved in the most satisfying way possible -- for both stomach and eyes ... and also heart! One most special item is the small Korean pancake -- unusual because it's normally only available in a rather large size, so this is very different! It's just one of the things that distinguishes this particular Korean eating spot from other Korean restaurants in the area. This one is more health-focussed, with ... I hesitate to say this (not to dis on other places or the people there!), but the higher level of English available here really does help a lot. There is less room for miscommunication when ordering -- a very important distinction! It is really not fun to find out you've eaten something you specifically said you didn't want to receive, and only figure this out once it's too late! Lessening the chances of that is wonderful! No promises being made here about this but it seems that ordering in Spanish would also be a possibility ... and depending on the day and time, perhaps another language as well. To me, this is ideal and so fun! The food and art are specifically Korean but in some ways, it's more worldly than that ... so you really are stepping into another world when you come here! (Or rolling, of course, if that's how you arrive.) K Bap Express did take a bit of time to open -- but it's totally been worth the wait! The selection, kindness, and heart-expanding décor together provide room for a much-needed rest in many ways .... The visual interest so very well tended-to gives the eyes a way to eat and be nourished, as well .... There is something for every part of a patron to love! The presentation of the food is delightful, so you can soak it in before indulging ... and leave filled with nutrition for your stomach, eyes, heart, and soul .... Apologies if I have gushed repetitively about certain stand-out virtues of this place! It's just so deserving, I haven't been able to help myself! I hope you try it and love it as much as I do!

When, I am looking for my comfort drink, I always order my mango lychee frappes. It is full of fruit, delicious taste, and perfect for a summer day. The ambiance inside the shop is modern, wood style decor, with lots of seating and nice lighting. The only thing I don't like is trying to find parking in their lot. It is always crowded. But, the delicious sweets and yummy drinks make it worth the extra effort. Thank you, Chateau de Rockville.

When we visited the first time it was very busy - on a Wednesday afternoon. No one is working and everyone is out drinking coffee? LOL! All the pastries are in the middle cases, mostly sweet ones on one side and savoy on the other. The price was very reasonable, unless you get the few selective croissants with special ingredients, such as the pistachio one we tried. The highlight is the latte. These days when you go to a cafe they give you a paper cup regardless if you are dining in with no latte art. We got the cute cup with lovely art. This along deserves 4.5 stars. The pastry were just OK if you ask me. You are able to heat it up yourself with the little toaster by the counter, but you feel rushed as there are others standing around waiting to heat up theirs, or want to get water which is right next to the toaster. overall it was a cute little place, I think it was owned by Korean as it give me a very korean cafe vibe.. LOL. If we ever go back to Maryland and stay near by we would re-visit.

It was slightly busy but the line moved fairly quickly. The restaurant has a good amount of seating and a lot of people dining in were simply enjoying their weekend. Unfortunately I had to work so everything was to go for me. I would love to have the opportunity to just dine in one day. I also want to try their Virginia location since that recently opened as well. I'm also still waiting on their rainbow/chantilly filled croissant because it had to be the best pastry I've ever eaten. Would happily return here. Wish they had a punch card for their regular customers.

The Blackberry Pistachio Croissant was flaky and full of a sweet-tart house made blackberry compote and rich pistachio frangipane. For the hot tea, I got Island Mango just on the description - sweet bits of mango, pineapple, orange, safflower & hibiscus. It was served as decaf. Once I let it cool, it had a citrus taste, but not sweet. I am still glad to have tried it and did not have to wait long for the order. Within a block of leaving the business, while holding the hot cup with one hand (the sleeve only helped a little), some of the hot tea spilled on me suddenly (I now have a burned scar on my knuckle). I don't know if the cover was on right, or if my movements made the top come off. I couldn't blame anyone. I did go back and had them replace the top since the other fell on the ground outside. When they say "hot" tea, they are not lying. Moving forward, no more hot drinks for me.
